DAY 49 FLOWERING: sorry about the video this week. Very long week and it is hot in the grow room now. My camera is not as good on my phone now so the quality suffers I think. Bare with me on this one. Lol Now the important bit , the plants..... All of the purple monkey look amazing now with their pinks and reds shimmering in the lights. They smell amazing now and all look so ready besides a flush of new pistils all over most of them. #3 is not at that stage and may be harvested any day now I think bitbthebother 2 need another week i feel to hit their best before ripening off. Tine will tell this week. They have been rock solid throughout this heatwave and even with very dry pots issues , have not skipped a beat. Certainly one to grow again. Banana mash are all looking slightly different in how they have dealt with the heat now. A lot of yellowing starting to happen on a couple and the other two have great trich build ups , very different from each other but all the same age ect.. They will need about 2 more weeks i think and expect a 10 week flowering period for them now. They are very sweet smelling now and their shaggy appearance and long spikes are very appealing. The younger crosses are now starting to swell up more too with the exotic? Looking like it will be a good finisher too. It is easy to see the mimosa Lemin genetics in both of them now but no clue in which exotic the ? Is yet.... With all that said , they are feeding g better now the temp has dropped a little and the end is close now growmies. Be safe and healthy

Planted in fox farm and perlight on 1/5/21 popped 1/8/21. Skywalker og didnt pop with multiple methods, water, soil, baby wipe warmer. The creme de la chem didnt germ in baby wipe warmer method but a 2nd seed did put directly in soil. 1/9 planted Alien Technology in solo Skywalker og was in and it germinated in two days. Just watered and kept in 70 to 80% humidity, 78 degrees, ROI-E680 at 60% around 20 inches away.

Week Five and Flowering has begun Will fold in Bio-Bloom and replace Fix Mix with Bio-grow , may add some Phos via top dressing as well. Yellowing continues to recede just not fast enough for my comfort. Brandy has obviously stunted considerably and Maggie at least somewhat. Could not expect differently Moving to Flowering tent soon as its clear, couple of days at most 10/28 UPDATE Going to play on a couple of hunches at next watering. Need to get a TDS meter soon, got a feeling it would help. Ever since we went to BioBizz we have experienced a variety of oddness in the vein of this grow. Now long term since we are switching to coco and Flora nuet line that is solved but short term I am switching to Dr. Earth Flower Girl for remainder of grow. Every feeding/watering will be @6.5 PH to 20% run off and checking PH on that. Of course this will be modified based on results. Schedule is a single top dressing at 4 tbs (roughly 2 tsp per gal of soil) covering with 1/2 inch min of coco and 50% perlite as a mulch. Layla must go on her own feeding schedule as she is just so much bigger and drinking well. Will do the feed when moving to Flowering tent in a day or so as that will be about time to water. She looks good if a little darker green than I like. Were it only Layla I might not suspect anything... meh Here is where Grow Diaries saved the day , by going back and looking at past grows we came to suspect the nuet change although initially results were great problems always seemed to follow. In my reaction to that, not knowing, I may have made other mistakes, likely in fact. Its a solid organic and may head off some issues. Simplify As for Bandy and Maggie, still have that bottle of H2O2 on the shelf, need to see some serious improvement real soon. Getting to be now or never Later: Talked to the owner of a hydroponics store who is also a long time grower that knows these nuet lines cold. His take is that it is absolutely the Bio-Bizz nuets, seems they are hard to run alone as they have holes in their make up which will cause mystery deficiencies in some plants and soil mixes. That really pisses me off LoL , my fault though just glad I have partial explanation. Good thing is he was able to show me the CocoTek Grow and Bloom lines and that is going to be the choice, two part feed without complications. Simplify heheh 10/29 Confirmed the dye reading of pot PH on all three by another method. Took a handful sized soil sample from as deep as I could of each pot and placed into a cup, soaked with 7.0 water let stand 15 minutes to stabilize, tested pour off, all at 6.7 so that is NOT the problem. Damn it This is the reasoning: Water goes into the pot at 6.4-6.5 takes the entire system to that level temporarily, it then begins bringing it up to 6.7-6.8ish and that friends covers the entire range of nuet take-up in soil. Going to cheat a bit high and make it 6.5 solid as its good on acid content. Least thats how I see it, back to basics so may as well. Top dressing Layla today with Flower Girl, others follow when pots dry out a bit more. Moved to Flowering Tent , something came up and they still have not been feed will try and do it this afternoon. 10/30 Fed Recharge 0.5 tsp - Kangaroots 5ml - CalMag 5ml - PH 6.5 for one gallon over 4 tbs top dressing Dr. Earth Flower Girl and one inch of mulch (50% coco/perlite) 11/1 Defoliated Layla (about 3%) so the center of the plant gets good light, did a little training on Brandy to keep things dry, Maggie... man just letting it grow I am just flabbergasted at this yellow leaf thing Pics at watering tomorrow 11/2 No water today, they dont need it.

She's a beauty! Stretching and building its preflowers at full speed while praying the light. I love those sativa leaves, and they are less problematic than indica ones since the light penetration is much better. She should give a nice yield, I can't wait to smell the buds!

This was an easy week with flushing the 2 B Blunt and Wreck'd Nuts so that I can take them both down. The Wreck'd Nuts just did not recover well from the lock out issues it was facing. It all came out of nowhere and got kind of serious even with a solid flush. That strain is a bit more picky with the nutrient balance than the others were. Leaving the Sex Melon and Rainbow Candy for next week. They still have some beefing up to do.

Harvest in week 12. But I screwed up, I didn't have enough room to separate each variety, so I would put an average weight when everything was dry... I had done everything well, I had to mistake on the place of the drying bag Last pictures, mixed buds

💥 Come onnnnnnn! To finish the cycle, I left the plants in complete darkness for the last 3 days, combined with low temperatures to enhance color, resin production, and terpene expression. This final stress pushed maturity and brought out beautiful tones — especially noticeable in the pink pheno and frostier colas. Plants were then harvested on April 11, 2024, after 66 days of flowering.

Week 8 Day 1 11/11/2023 Water Change Day!! It is also that magic day where we start to check Trichomes to see when she is ready for CHOP CHOP.... Added: 36 gallons of Water SIlica-.5mil/Gal CALMag- .75mil/Gal GH FLoraMicro-3.8mil/Gal GH FlroaGro-2.8mil/Gal GH FLroaBloom-4.3Mil/Gal Liquid KoolBloom 2.5mil/Gal TPS SIGNAL- 3.0mil/Gal ORCA-.5mil/Gal Week 8 Day 2 11/12/2023 Just enjoyed that I am on the end run.. and how she is looking.. Week 8 Day 3 11/13/2023 Ground Hogs day!! Week 8 Day 4 11/14/2023 Today one of the buds got so heavy I had to tie her up. Week 8 Day 5 11/15/2023 Today I did nothing but take some photos... Getting ready for my Trip this is going to be fun.. Running right up to the wire on deciding to harvest or try and let it go for the week we are out of town. Week 8 Day 6 11/16/2023 Ground hogs day!! I am getting everything prepped for next week.. Right now it looks like I am going to need to go for the extra week or so... with that I am thinking that I will change the water as normal Saturday Morning the only difference this week is that I will probably do 46 gallons instead of 36 pushing everything to the top to ensure running out of water is not one of my issues while on Vacation next week. Evening update checked on them and the water was uncomfortably low so I added 10 gallons of water and accompanying Nutes. This is also the last shot for the grow of CALMag... Added: 10 gallons of Water CALMag- .75mil/Gal GH FLoraMicro-3.8mil/Gal GH FlroaGro-2.8mil/Gal GH FLroaBloom-4.3Mil/Gal Liquid KoolBloom 2.5mil/Gal TPS SIGNAL- 3.0mil/Gal ORCA-.5mil/Gal Week 8 Day 7 11/17/2023 Well the Trichome check this morning settles it, She need more time.. So with that said.. Must deploy my Contingency Strategy that I designed just incase I ran into this Scenario, biggest worry fluctuation of the PH level as the water goes down over the week.. 1. Change water Tomorrow as Schedule and enter Week 9 Nutes- Instead of 36gallons add 46-48 gallons 2. Balance system to 6.0 3. Check PH on Sunday Morning balance to 6.0 4. Check PH on Sunday evening before getting on road balance to 6.0 5. Hope everything looks good when I get back.

Animal Mints — Legends of the Frozen North Week 8 from Seed | Week 4 Flower Another chapter unfolds in the frozen north. For anyone joining this diary now, here is a quick recap of how we arrived here. This run explores Animal Mints grown primarily under a 12/12 cycle from seed, allowing the plants to naturally express their structure while moving efficiently into flowering. Most of the plants followed this path from the beginning, with one small exception in the room — a plant that spent about two weeks in vegetative light before joining the 12/12 cycle. Interestingly, that plant ended up being the smallest of the group, showing how genetics and environmental response can sometimes surprise us. But despite those differences, the room now feels unified. The canopy is alive, vibrant, and moving together into the deeper stages of flowering. This week has been a big one. With more than 300 photos captured, the goal was to document every angle of development — structure, branching, flower sites, and canopy behavior — as the plants continue their journey through bloom. ⸻ Environmental Snapshot The room is currently running with fairly aggressive parameters, but supported by strong airflow and active air exchange. Current conditions • Canopy temperature: ~28°C (gradually tapering toward 26°C) • Relative humidity: ~70% (slowly reducing toward ~60%) • CO₂: 1000+ ppm through passive enrichment • PPFD: 800 → 1300 µmol across the canopy These values are slightly on the upper edge of traditional recommendations, but with strong airflow and healthy transpiration, the plants are responding very well. Air movement remains one of the most important elements in this environment. The goal over the next weeks will be to gradually tighten the climate window as flowers develop further. ⸻ Light Strategy The lighting across the canopy currently ranges between: 800 and 1300 PPFD This allows the plants to maintain strong metabolic activity without excessive stress during early flower development. Additionally, we run a 15-minute red light pulse after lights off. This small far-red window helps accelerate the phytochrome transition between light cycles, effectively signaling nightfall to the plants and assisting the flowering rhythm. It is a subtle adjustment, but one that helps maintain consistent flowering signals. ⸻ Under-Canopy Lighting One of the key elements of this room is the use of under-canopy lighting. As plants grow bushier and develop dense foliage, the lower zones of the plant often receive very little light. Under-canopy lighting helps: • increase light penetration to lower bud sites • reduce excessive shading • maintain photosynthetic activity deeper into the plant • improve overall bud development throughout the structure Combined with careful defoliation and strong airflow, this approach helps keep the entire plant active rather than only the top canopy. ⸻ Airflow — The Invisible Engine Airflow is one of the most underestimated tools in indoor cultivation. In this room we rely heavily on constant air circulation and active air exchange. This helps: • regulate leaf temperature • support transpiration • prevent humidity pockets inside the canopy • strengthen plant structure • reduce risk of fungal pressure Plants are living organisms interacting with their environment, and air movement is part of that conversation. ⸻ Feeding Strategy The plants are currently feeding very actively. Feed EC: ~2.4 Soil EC: ~0.9 This indicates that the plants are absorbing nutrients efficiently from the medium. As long as the plants continue eating and the runoff remains stable, the feeding program stays consistent. If nutrient uptake slows or runoff EC begins climbing, adjustments will be made accordingly. For now, the system remains balanced and responsive. ⸻ Nutrient Recipe Current weekly top feed includes: • CalMag Pro • Terra Bloom (base nutrient) • Power Buds • Green Sensation • Pure Zym • Sugar Royal • Vita Race (foliar where applicable) At this stage of flowering, foliar applications are used sparingly. Once flowers begin forming, keeping the canopy dry becomes increasingly important. ⸻ Why Add Power Buds + Green Sensation As plants transition fully into the flowering stage, the goal shifts from structural growth toward flower formation and metabolic support. Power Buds helps stimulate the plant’s flowering response and encourages the development of early bud sites. Green Sensation acts as a metabolic enhancer, supporting: • bud density • terpene production • nutrient transport • overall plant energy during bloom Together, these additives help guide the plant’s resources toward productive flower development. ⸻ Mixing Order — Why It Matters One of the small details that can make a big difference in nutrient stability is the order of mixing. Our mixing process always follows the same structure: 1. CalMag Pro first 2. Base nutrient (Terra Bloom) 3. Additives CalMag is added first until the base EC reaches around 0.7. This creates a stable mineral foundation for the rest of the solution. After that the base nutrient and additives are introduced gradually. Proper mixing order helps prevent nutrient precipitation and instability, keeping the solution balanced and available for the plants. In simple terms: Chemistry matters. ⸻ Defoliation Update This week also included selective defoliation. Some plants had not yet received any canopy thinning, and their structure had become quite dense. Those plants were defoliated more deeply than the others to restore: • airflow inside the canopy • light penetration • structural balance Despite the heavier pruning, the plants responded beautifully. Leaves remain vibrant, growth continues strong, and the canopy quickly reorganizes itself. ⸻ Structural Observations Across the room, the Animal Mints plants show distinct structural expressions. Some lean toward tighter node spacing and compact branching, while others stretch slightly more. These differences highlight the diversity within the genetic expression of the cultivar. Yet despite those differences, all plants are developing healthy flower sites and strong green foliage. ⸻ What To Expect Next Over the next weeks we expect: • vertical stretch slowing down • bud stacking intensifying • resin development beginning • stronger aroma expression Environmental parameters will gradually shift toward slightly cooler temperatures and lower humidity as flowers continue forming. The focus will remain on airflow, canopy balance, and metabolic stability. ⸻ Gratitude Before closing this update, a moment of appreciation. To the long-time followers, the OG readers, the new growers discovering this diary, the skeptics, the critics, the silent observers, and everyone who spends time following these plants. Thank you. Gratitude as well to: • the platform hosting these diaries • the sponsors supporting the work • the genetics that make these explorations possible • and everyone contributing to the community.
