Very good week for the Jelly Rancher plant. The JR plant went from 3 inches to 6-1/2 inches. So 3.5 inches of growth this week...not too bad. No issues so far 😬. I pruned the plant just a little this week, took of the first, second and third set of leaves off. Not any branches just the leaves. The second and third set of leaves just get in the way...get covered in soil as they grow and not really all that useful so I just get them out of the way. Onto week 4 😁.

This strain is a dream to grow, if you haven't tried it yet, it's amazing, it's easy, it's lush and vibrant, full of energy from seed to smoke. Great for organic grow styles and a fun plant to grow. The smoke I will update in the smoke review! I do not have words for the quality of this strain. In everything. Grow this and be absolutely amazed by its performance. I had won the seeds with the Halloween give-away but they are a sure winner and a keeper. @SweetSeeds congratulations on a champion auto-strain. I've grown auto's before, only outdoors, but nothing like this, nothing this big in such a short time, and this resilient for not only mistakes but everything. This plant will perform even if you were to mess it all up. Keep to 20 liters grow bags for best performance as you could see with my two plants. One as more developed, although everyone says over 15 ltr makes no difference, with organic coco hybrid super soil, it does. It is the difference in buffering of nutes, PH, heat, and moisture. Way less hassle in the bigger pot and this was an excellent learning curve. This grow started out as a match between Forbidden Runtz by Fastbuds and XL Runts by Sweetseeds. But since the playing field was uneven (pot wise but also heat and fresh air wise), the results do not count in my opinion. But my guess is (since I haven't weighed the Forbiddens) that the XLs for now won. But as I said it would not be fair. We will do the contest again when said playing field is level. The strain has proven to be extremely sturdy compared to the autoflower version. The smell has been a bit problematic. Some terpenes just can't seem to be tamed even with a brand new carbon air filter. I hope this pays off in terms of aroma quality :)

They finally started stretching a bit. Had me worried that they would be forever stunted.

Day 65, 14th of November 2020: This plant man.... I am shocked lol... I created a form of art i think look at the main stalk how it is twisted. That's nothing really compare hoe she streches and grows so crazy. Actually she can not hold her own side branches I needed to tie them together.... Beautiful lady guys... she is... Pre flowers out all good.... check out... Fertilization happens every 2nd day with the ratio and mix above. I set the lamp 15 minutes shorter to switch off earlier so she receives 11:45 of darkness. I would like to imitate the nature when longer nights come with time till the 4th week (when she will receive 13 hours darkness a day 15 minutes minus 4 times = 1hour) so every week 15 min longer darkness for 4 weeks and then back to 12/12 to have bigger buds from the 4th week....

Hold Your Machetes, Growers! This Lady's Got a Surprise! I know, I know, week 10 is supposed to be harvest time, the moment we've all been waiting for. But hold onto your hats, because my girl had other plans! She decided to throw a MUTATION PARTY, and let me tell you, it's getting wild in the grow tent! My main cola, that beautiful, bodacious babe, decided to stretch by a whole 10cm, packing on tons of frosty white flowers. Talk about top-heavy! She's thicc with a capital T, and oh so juicy. Now, I couldn't let all that goodness go to waste, so I carefully trimmed about 20g of the smaller buds that were ready, leaving my main cola to continue its glorious transformation. ✂️ But wait, there's more! This sassy lady also decided to turn one of her leaves into a full-blown flower. Talk about a genetic surprise! I don't know if it's the Plagron or the Zamnesia genes in her, but I've definitely never seen anything like it. So, here's to unexpected mutations, XXL colas, and plants that keep us on our toes! Stay tuned, growers, because this is one grow diary that's about to get even more interesting.

Currently sitting at day 38 of flower. Forbidden Soda- Looks incredible, buds are a pinkish purple. Smell is a fruity tangerine Forbidden Dream pheno #1 - this pheno is the beat smelling and looking, started turning purple from the onset of flower, the smell is like grape soda mixed with sour patch kids. Forbidden Dream kush pheno: this was the pheno that I though hermied, it’s not possible that they were just calyxs building on the top buds. They never got bigger, didn’t release pollen, and some now have pistils thru them, but will see once harvest time. Very impressed with the forbidden Dream strain, as for the forbidden soda while it does look incredible , this was selected from 3 different 12/12 seeds where the other two were not good. The forbidden dream seems to have better phenotypes overall and buds are a lot denser..

Initial cuttings entry for this journal on the to-be-pollinated F2s. We’ll be backing out each plant specimen against some F1 pollen in an effort to trait stabilize the best bud of the lot. Still debating on pushing my luck with just the aero-cloner through the whole shortened cycle. If not I’ll have to cobble together some sort of shallow dwc bin from scratch to accommodate them for the long haul. Pollen as soon as we see prevalent pistils. ***Grow notes: 2 cuts from each plant specimen against- #5 potentially a male. All lookn great and perky post-cutting. Let’s hope the F1 pollen is still preserved🤞🤞🤞.

Im playing the album PLANTASIA 2-5 times a week, i have set down a bit the ph adding 15 ml of white vinegar every 4 L of water, with some onionpeel water and oxygen water, only once a week watering, the moisture is still there in the soil, very happy trying to do as much as i can until i can afford better, any suggestions?

 

Great stretch and nice bud formations! Nice height and the smell is sour Diesel like. Probably she will have some sense buds! More than needed defoliation/lollipoping this week also with a start of the Atami Booster

Hi growmies, unfortunately I skipped a day checking on the reservoir and the plant must have consumed a lot more water than expected, probably due to the heat we are experiencing where I live, since I realized tip burn getting worse everywhere I checked the ec, which was close to 3 😳, topped up with RO water right away and this seems to have stopped it. Other than that I don’t think it bothered the plant too much either, as she keeps on swelling bigger and bigger. A&B fertilizer was reduced already and once, either next week or the one after I’ll start flushing, depending on the stage of ripening.

The veg cycle was shorter than i usually like to have a plant go through, due to time restrictions for the Bubba Cheesecake Diary grow-off, but it still did fantastic in my mind! Three months in veg under high-octane light and 11 1/2 weeks in flower have let this plant turn into a dreadlocked group of nugs. Three main colas, but lots of burnable flower to enjoy once the dry is finished. I did a light LST with a decent amount of defoliation throughout the plant's life. I like to open up the middle area of the plant and let as much light as possible hit as many branch and potential flower nodes as possible. This way, i don't need to lollipop as many branches and as much foliage as i would if i didn't do this. Plus, the candelabra look is b-e-a-Utiful, in my opinion. Light intensity through veg ranged from 40% as a fresh seedling to around 55% the week before i put it into the bloom room. Once it was in the bloom room, the intensity was set at 50% for the first couple weeks to allow for a decent stretch. After that, i think i recorded the light intensity in my diary notes for each week. But, just in case i didn't, I bumped up the intensity by a few percent every 3 days until i hit 100%. Once i got to MAXIMUM POWER, i left it there until harvest. Water was natural well water that tests out at 7 pH. I always added BuildABloom to the water, never the soil, when i used it. Same with Dr. Earth's 1-2-1 tea concentrate. Other than those instances, it was just straight water that i was giving to the plant. Grow rooms are both about 4'x8'.
