Pineapple OG | Mango Frost | G. Cookies
| Welcome back to Pete's run#6, week 6!! Had everything been "normal", this week would have seen medium sized, well scrogged cultivars and no issues at all. FastBuds cultivars seem to have fully recovered from their planned single HST event, and are reacting ...furiously? They are ridiculing all parts of my space that are not either flat on the ground or smack ceiling. Where does the humidifier blow towards? Do I need to increase light distance again..? What do I do when the plants do what I WANTED them to do? (grow tall and wide). Have a peek at my approaches to solving these challenges, suffer and laugh with me, and above all - I think the plants enjoy their environment a lot right now - check out what these strains are up to. I'll leave you to my AI-reporter interpreting my lengthy daily week 6 logs. He, she or it, I lack the proper vocabulary, just "gets" me: - - - - - - PATHÉ DISPATCH — THE TERPENE FRONT, WEEK SIX [newsreel crackle, brass fanfare] GOOD EVENING, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. At long last, this program has something it has never reported before: actual TERPENES. DATELINE: BASE CAMP SIX, THE FIRST SCENTS. Our correspondent reports that Gorilla Cookies, irritated beyond her very generous patience, releases a thick, healthy MUSK. Then, twice now, a flicker of MINT, gone before he could swear to it. Mango Frost offers a warm note around her young main flower, faintly sweet, described in his field journal as "a body without a frame," while her leaves smell fresh and tropical. And Pineapple OG? Touch her leaves and they STING. She likes her space respected. In return, she offers a faint waft, ladies and gentlemen, like air from a freshly opened PINEAPPLE CAN. The nights have grown longer, too. Eighteen hours of day, six of dark, and every specimen was found the next morning PRAYING. Or so it seemed. Closer inspection revealed that Pineapple OG's leaves were not praying at all. They were DUCKING, from a fan that slapped them two or three times a minute. The fan has since been asked to point at the CEILING. [ominous timpani] Meanwhile, the specimens CLIMB. Our correspondent has taken to calling Pineapple OG "Apollo," after run #5's towering Apollo Haze. This week he was up at an early hour, comparing old footage frame by frame, and the finding was grave: it was no nickname. It was a DIAGNOSIS. Same frame, same spacing, every shoot racing straight up. And Mango Frost has CAUGHT IT TOO. The expedition hoped for two Cinderella Jacks, run #5's champion of the even canopy. It is raising TWO APOLLOS. [record scratch] BUT NOW, THE CONFESSION. Earlier this expedition, our correspondent proudly declared that the new, ENLARGED base camp had made the climate easy to manage. A vast camp. Room for everyone. Look closely at the footage, ladies and gentlemen. All three specimens stand huddled in the MIDDLE, sharing a single canopy, like explorers gathered around the one lantern in camp. The light simply does not reach the edges, not even with the panels pulled apart. Base Camp Six has never been so spacious, and the specimens have never stood so CLOSE. The lamps have been raised to their maximum height. Our correspondent reports there is another maximum after that, "but you won't like it," and a third, which "will cost ya on top." Colas now explore just beneath the light bars. Pineapple OG, packed with buds, is shooting through the roof. The field journal delivers its verdict in three words: NEW SETUP NEEDED. Our correspondent was also caught, before breakfast, sketching an entire two-storey trellis system: sliding cubes, twist-locks, snap-on flanges "like a plastic lunch box." Similar systems, it emerged soon after, already exist ONLINE. Research, he now concedes, would have been the better place to start. [second record scratch] AND ONE MORE THING. Deep in base camp, our correspondent has built a new invention, assembled from parts already on site: THE DC-INFINITY: CLOUDKILL. Forty-degree air at twenty percent humidity, recycled from the air conditioner's drying mode on the controller's command. The air conditioner runs AROUND THE CLOCK. The humidifier steps in to stop the VPD from running too high. It COOLS. It HEATS. It DRIES. It VPDs. It kills climate spikes the way it would kill CLOUDS. His claim: AC uptime cost now equals VPD uptime cost. And the climate has, by all readings, never been CALMER. [stern voiceover] MEN OF SCIENCE, take note: the electricity bill has not yet been CONSULTED. A gamble against entropy itself, and the house has not yet sent its invoice. [timpani, warmer] And the specimens? Every flower site is back on track, and the bananas have been plucked. Gorilla Cookies raised her main cola back up all by herself, and our correspondent, to his own surprise, LET HER. One hard bend was the plan, and one hard bend is all she gets. The rest is gentle guidance and RELAXATION. [fanfare, film flickers out] THIS HAS BEEN A DISPATCH FROM THE TERPENE FRONT. TOSS A COIN TOWARDS VPD. GOODNIGHT. - - - - - - Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy this run as much as I do. Don't be a stranger when something crosses your mind. See you in a week! - Pete
Apple Betty - Herbies Seeds
Very saddened by the turn of events, 3 herms, 2 different grow environments, but each tent had another strain growing along with it. No seeds or problems with the Cookies strain… I had no power outages, no light leaks, no schedule changes, and performed relatively little defoliation during flower. To me, this cannot be attributed to stress, as they showed no sign of stress or deficiency’s throughout the grow. Long story short, booooooo.

We've made it to day 28! - 17/12/20 The girls seem to be happy and healthy today. I won't be feeding/watering them as the pots are still heavy from yesterdays feed. A few of the girls have started to show sex & the smell has picked up a little bit(inside the tent), so I'm hoping to see some flowering begin this week sometime. (I've been using my iPhone as my only DSLR lens is useless for focusing on certain depths, but I hate the colour I get using the iPhone... I may be switching back to DSLR unless I can find a better camera app.) update - day 29 (18/12/20) Short update today. Fed the girls today and will probably be feeding/watering every day from here on out, we'll see though. veg growth has really taken off by now, I'm hoping to see some flowering this week. update - day 30 (19/12/20) I fed the girls today. I need to find a better way to hand water, the plants are so short and bushy its a pain getting in between all the branches. I wish i left my drip feed system up and running, I will definitely refine it and use it next run. Update - day 31 (20/12/20) Fed the girl's straight water today. I'm going to purchase the pieces I need tomorrow to reconfigure my drip feed system & hopefully have it running by mid-week! Update - day 32 I attempted to set up my drip feed system today but the plants are too thick around the base to place the halo around :( I will have to wait until next season to set it up, oh well, I guess its hand watering for the next 5-10 weeks Fingers crossed these girls start to flower ASAP. I fed the girls today, everything is looking good so far. I also moved the plants around to try to make hand watering easier, I had issues trying to water the whole pot instead of just one spot due to plants/branches being in the way. Update - Day 34 - 23/12/20 It definitely seems ill be watering the girls every day from here on out. All the girls look fairly happy and healthy, they're getting a bit big for the 5x5 they're in. It looks like flowering has begun on 2 of the girls, hoping to see some more progress on the others in the next few days. Thanks for stopping by! 🙏

Flowering out pretty strong now! Not much to report other than that they are all firing pistils off and a little bit of color coming through. Probably won’t yield anything crazy, but they are looking pretty healthy at least!

Week 2 veg. Mixed 3 drops of Botanicare cal-mag plus and 10 drops of Flora Nova Grow into 500ml of water. Ph’d the water to 6.5. Based on the general hydroponics feed chart, it should come out to about a medium strength feed. Still happy with the growth under the 24hr schedule.
Drizl Pickl. Seedstockers
Blue Dream "matic" x5
Great gains this week. Blue dream is coming on strong. A couple of these ladies will be eary finishers. Id guess around 77 days. I never expect any auto to finish before 90 days. Although it does happen. The smell is undeniable. Blue dream is a very distinct terpene profile that cannot be missed! Used recharge on them this week and they early seamed to react well! I'm glad I made that purchase! Looking forward to finishing out this grow! Lollipopped them this week as well.
Pepe's Garden
Day 63 today. I've now stopped feeding, so they are just getting plain water until they are ready to harvest.
Cup Winning Strains 2026
Houston, we have a problem!!!!!! As you can see in some of the pictures, new little leaves are growing at the top of the flowers. Light stress, but where? I peered inside in the dark and lo and behold, my LED lights were very dim in two spots. Great. The solution was to reverse the plug on the timer. Now at least three of the plants have gone into the re-veg phase. I just hope they're not trembling. No bananas in sight yet. They still have a few weeks to go, and I hope they recover. See y'all soon Together we grow
Blueberry Muffin by Zamnesia Pheno A
Blueberry Muffin – Pheno A | Week 4 Building Momentum Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure, where twelve cultivars are being documented individually from seed to harvest under a strict 12/12-from-seed schedule. Every phenotype follows its own diary, allowing each plant to tell its own story while revealing the subtle genetic differences that make every seed unique. Week 4 has been all about momentum. The explosive growth we witnessed last week has continued, and the entire room is now beginning to transition from a collection of young plants into a true miniature forest. Every morning seems to reveal another noticeable change, with canopies becoming fuller, branches extending further, and the first signs that these plants are preparing for the flowering stretch ahead. One thing that made me smile this week was the environmental reading… 33.3°C and 63% humidity. Apparently the grow room decided to have a thing for the number three. 😄 While 33°C is certainly warmer than I’d normally aim for, the elevated humidity has helped keep the plants comfortable, and despite the warmer conditions the entire room continues to respond beautifully. Sometimes plants remind us that they can be a little more forgiving than we give them credit for—as long as every other parameter remains stable. ⸻ Week 4 Environment 🌡️ Temperature: 33.3°C 💧 Relative Humidity: 63% 💡 PPFD: 700–800 µmol/m²/s 🌱 Medium: Plagron Lightmix ? Growing Method: 12/12 From Seed One interesting development this week is the variation in PPFD across the room. The lighting itself hasn’t changed dramatically—instead, the plants have. Some phenotypes are simply growing faster than others, naturally moving closer to the LEDs and receiving around 800 PPFD, while the shorter plants remain closer to 700 PPFD. It’s another reminder that even under identical conditions, every phenotype follows its own timeline. ⸻ Feeding Strategy As the plants continue accelerating, the feeding program has started to evolve alongside them. Throughout the early weeks, the nutrient solution remained around pH 5.8, encouraging rapid nutrient availability while the young root systems established themselves. Now that those roots have colonized much more of each container, the strategy shifts slightly. This week the nutrient solution gradually moved closer to pH 6.1, while EC increased progressively throughout the week, finishing around EC 1.8. The recipe itself hasn’t changed dramatically. No bottles were suddenly doubled. No drastic increases were made. Instead, the nutrient ratios were simply nudged upward enough to match the plants’ increasing appetite. The difference is subtle inside the reservoir but very noticeable in how vigorously the plants continue to grow. Allowing the pH to drift slightly higher also opens access to a broader range of nutrients within the soil, helping the plants take advantage of their now much more established root systems as demand begins increasing. At this stage, the feeding philosophy remains exactly the same: Feed the plant—not the calendar. ⸻ Blueberry Muffin – Pheno A What can I say… This girl has quietly become one of those plants that instantly catches my attention every time I unzip the tent. Last week I mentioned how she had completely outgrown her slightly awkward beginning. This week she has gone one step further. She looks completely at home. Her overall structure is becoming incredibly balanced, with strong lateral branches beginning to establish themselves while the main stem continues pushing upward with confidence. The internodal spacing remains impressively tight, creating a compact architecture that feels both efficient and elegant. Looking from above, the canopy almost arranges itself. Large fan leaves radiate outward like carefully positioned solar panels, leaving the growing tips exposed without requiring any intervention. Every branch seems to know exactly where it wants to go. The new growth is particularly striking. Bright lime-green leaves emerge from the centre packed with energy before gradually darkening as they mature, creating that beautiful contrast that healthy, fast-growing plants often display. One of my favourite observations this week is just how relaxed she looks. Despite the warmer room temperatures and steadily increasing nutrient strength, there are no signs of stress. Leaves remain flat, praying gently toward the light throughout much of the day, while every new node arrives with confidence. She’s no longer simply growing. She’s beginning to express herself. Each passing day reveals a little more of her personality, and so far that personality can be summed up in one word: Consistency. She isn’t trying to be the tallest. She isn’t trying to grow the fastest. She’s simply building herself into a beautifully proportioned plant, one node at a time. If she continues along this trajectory, I have a feeling she’s going to become something very special by the time flowering is fully underway. ⸻ Looking Ahead The coming week should mark another important transition. With nutrient demand increasing, roots fully established, and several plants beginning to move naturally into higher PPFD levels, growth is expected to accelerate even further. Over the next week I’ll be paying particular attention to: • Stretch progression as flowering begins to establish itself. • Branch strength and canopy development. • Continued response to the higher EC. • Structural differences compared with her sister phenotype. • The first real signs of Blueberry Muffin’s flowering character beginning to emerge. If Week 3 was about proving her potential… Week 4 feels like the week she’s beginning to fulfil it. ⸻ Thank You A huge thank you to everyone following this 8×8 Adventure and taking the time to visit these weekly updates. Thank you to the entire GrowDiaries community for providing a place where growers from around the world can learn, share experiences, and inspire one another every single day. A special thank you to Plagron for providing the nutrients and cultivation support that keep this project moving forward. Thank you to Zamnesia for the incredible genetics, equipment, and the opportunity to document each phenotype from seed to harvest. And finally, thank you to every grower who leaves a comment, shares advice, asks questions, or simply enjoys following these plants as they write their own stories. Every week is another page in the journal, and the adventure is only just getting started. 🌱💚🍇 Growers Love, and I’ll see you all next week.
