Really happy with the performance of my 2 Haze berry plants by Royal Queen Seeds, both phenos have the exact same fragrance I love in this strain, very fruity and sweet smell it makes you forget about everything, you feel like you're in the Caribbean just enjoying a nice fruit salad, I cannot wait to see how this ladies will get on the 4th week of flower! Major issues with calcium def for no reason and a weird re veg, and the utter lack of mould resistance. Plant was tall and buds are huge and dense, let's hope the taste is phenomenal.

Hello GrowDiaries friends. 70 days since my little girl sprouted from seed/harvest time🌱 Technical and general parameters from Zamnesia breeder: Apple Fritter Automatic 🍎🍏🍎 Growing Apple Fritter Automatic according to breeder: In the grow room, Apple Fritter Auto is a true pleasure. Its height rarely exceeds 100cm, and its structure is typical of an indica 🍀🍃🌲; think short internodes, thick, dark-green foliage, and vigorous growth. While Zamnesia’s photoperiod Apple Fritter responds extremely well to both low and high-stress training, Apple Fritter Automatic is best left to its own devices due to its short life cycle (which averages about 70 days from seed to harvest). 🌱🌿🌾 My experience: I made two major mistakes while growing it - high pH at the beginning of flowering and over-fertilizing during one watering 💩💩 It affected all the plants in the tent. Some more, some less. This plant was one of the resistant ones. Although the breeder himself states how sensitive autoflowers are and I can confirm that they really are, this strain handled this strain very well. Okay now this has been ridiculous. SJ re-affirmed my choice as stability anchor, in case my Haze experiments go wrong (they kinda did*) - and she delivered big time 😵 *they did, with a funny and unbelievable twist: I am the proud owner of two seeds, this one likely is " Mephisto OSMH × 42FB SourJealousy — F1 Fem Auto (rodel) Her flower is extremely dense, which comes with a challenge for spotting bud rot. So far I have not found any bud-rot during hand-trimming, but given her structure and my extended drying, I am not too concerned with finding a spot or two. Here's my logs, excuse the dump: ---- 42 Fast Buds : Sour Jealousy #2 State: Age: 73 days | Life: Content & relaxed throughout all phases. Very healthy & confident representation throughout. Trichomes: ~10% amber | Pistils: Slow, gradual fade towards 80% brown (indica representation; full white pistils possible at correct harvest time) Flower Development: Very evenly matured and ripe flower with light senescence fade (-) deeper into sub-canopy. Larf: ~1.5% Fully matured/ripened to freshly maturing/ripening ratio: 2.6:1, or 72% : 28% Hand-trimming: 6h 46/h Drying: Extended low VPD drying (12d) with increased botrytis risk. Temporary humidity stabilization → grove bags nested in RH container. Flower State: 62% RH on all but top main colas (still burping). Monoterpenes noticeably degraded (30%+ perception) Pharmaceutical Profile: Under my (drying) conditions: very long lasting, mellow. Sedative-leaning but daytime-profile with strong, pleasant body aura / high. Strong focus / immersion, some tendency to wander off. Relaxed, focused working / occupation. Creates ""bubble"" reducing distractions, without inducing artificial happiness other than from (largely) increased comfort. Reduced motorical drive slightly debilitating but never couch-locking. High THC contents (apparent during use) create ceiling for daytime profile. Smell: sweet forward, reminiscent of sweet almond profiles, creamy elements. On rupture: deep herbal profile with surprising mint and earthy notes (background); + a ""vibrant, lively spin"" on those herbs as a warm, almost fennel-like umami / wet nest inside profile (only on well preserved flower). Taste: no good data (combusted with tobacco)

So the end of 3 and entering week 4 these girls are a little sad today as been working on finishing their little grow space which hopefully they'll settle into over the next few days. I have tried too upload images but no luck keeps saying resizing no matter where I upload from 🙄 The girls are taking off and I can see the difference in growth allthough they've been unsettled past few days 🌱 Still loving the aptus range and so am I its keeping these girls healthy even the topped girl hasnt really reacted too being topped 🌱👌 I will be doing some hst/lst with the other 2 this week as neglected them slightly as having the fastbuds testers all potted up into new shoes. Which means airflow and internal light penetration become critical early. And that’s exactly why this week mattered. ⸻ 🍃 The Defoliation — Not Aesthetic. Architectural. This was not cosmetic trimming. It was: • Removing large fan leaves blocking interior bud sites • Cleaning inner congestion • Opening airflow channels • Resetting light distribution across the canopy • Helping the entire room environment (not just this plant) The room needed air — this plant was advanced enough to handle stress. That’s key. Week 3 of flower is the transition window: • Stretch is slowing • Bud sites are set • Energy shifts toward stacking At this stage, a strategic defoliation: • Improves transpiration efficiency • Reduces microclimate humidity pockets • Prevents internal leaf-to-leaf condensation • Encourages bud site activation below the top canopy This was structural architecture. Not haircut vanity. ⸻ 🌡️ 28°C in Flower — “Too Hot?” Let’s Go Deep. People panic when they hear 28°C in flower. But here’s where most growers confuse: 🔥 HPS vs LED Heat Behavior Under HPS: • Radiant heat warms leaf surfaces directly • Leaf temperature often equals or exceeds room temp • 28°C air under HPS can mean 30–32°C leaf temp • That pushes VPD dangerously high Under LED: • Less infrared radiation • Leaf surface temp is typically 1–3°C LOWER than room temp • So at 28°C room temp, leaf temp might be 25–26°C And VPD calculations depend on leaf temperature, not air temperature. ⸻ 🌿 What Is Leaf VPD? VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) measures the difference between: • Moisture inside the leaf • Moisture in the surrounding air But if you calculate VPD using only room temp, you’re missing the real transpiration dynamics. With: • 28°C air • ~25–26°C leaf surface (LED) • 65% RH Leaf VPD sits in a very workable mid-flower zone. Not extreme. Not stress-inducing. Not shutdown territory. We’re driving metabolism, not cooking terpenes. ⸻ 💧 Why 65% RH Isn’t Dangerous Here Context matters: • Good airflow • Opened canopy • Compact but cleaned structure • Early-mid flower (Week 3, not Week 7) At this stage: • Pistils are forming • Bud density is still moderate • Transpiration is active High humidity becomes dangerous when: • Bud mass is dense • Internal airflow is poor • Late flower resin traps moisture We’re not there yet. And we just improved airflow with defoliation. ⸻ ⚡ EC 2.9 — Aggressive but Intentional That EC is strong. But: • Plant is compact, not oversized • Sour Diesel can eat • pH 6.5 keeps availability wide (Ca, Mg, P balance) The key will be: • Watching leaf tips • Monitoring runoff behavior • Watching for clawing or salt stress Right now, if she’s praying and stacking, she’s handling it. ⸻ 🔍 What To Expect Next Week (Flower Week 4) After defoliation: You may see: • Slight pause (24–72 hours) • Increased vertical bud push • Better lower-site activation • More defined pistil clustering • Stronger apical dominance response If recovery is clean: • Buds begin early stacking phase • Internodes tighten • Resin production initiates at bract level If stress appears: • Slight leaf droop • Tip burn acceleration • Reduced upward leaf angle But based on structure and timing — this looks calculated, not reactive. ⸻ 🧠 Why This Week Matters Long-Term This week determines: • Airflow pattern for late flower • Mold resistance later • Bud density uniformity • Final trim efficiency • Light-to-bud conversion efficiency This wasn’t about now. New week, new growth.. Will hopefully start the LST and Topping in a few days. They are really starting to grow. Fan leaves looking healthy and big. Girls coming with vigorous growth now, everything dialled in and happy. Just adjusting the EC/pH as needed when the girls show me the relevant signs/deficiencies if any. D31/D35- Decided they were in a good enough place to start topping the girls, all 6 topped and just some defoliation of the bigger fan leaves that are shading the growth shoots some HST was also done. We were also due a water change, so I cleaned the whole system just to keep things extra cleanly, very important in a RDWC system. I also switched over to a sterile system instead of using beneficial bacteria so I will experiment and see how this goes. Time to let the girls ecover before the next training session. Cruise control for now.

I made a few big mistakes. most notably not flipping early enough. I vegged til 13 inches hoping theyd stretch to 26-30 inches and have adequate space away from light, well I underestimate them way too much! despite stretching a ton, these girls were both amazing to grow. bounced back to every training, with a lot of lst and topping and defol, they never stayed down long. they eat a lot, and once i got my feed dialed in they grew healthy and strong thru harvest. i chopped at all milky trichs, decided to harvest all in one go. so lowers have a tiny clear trich but mostly milky, tops are fully milky and after dry have a tiny touch of yellow or amber at tips. effects are ranging from 70-30 sativa (on lowers with clearer trichs) its high energy. very distinct feeling of relaxation all thru body from neck down feel loose in joints and relaxed. in mind i feel very sharp, focused and productive. at the same time i noticed i was more creative. i teach tennis classes and i was better able to describe what I was trying to convey to my student who is a teen, creativity helps. both our games improved, definitely a nice productive smoke, tastey as hell in vape or bowl. grinds up and smells like blueberries soaked in gasoline, topped with a big squeeze of lemon and dash of spicey red chili peppers! ooooh eeee! this stuff is amazing, and the bubble hash i spun looks like its going to be top quality once it dries! will post more pictures of buds once they cure up a bit more. should mention as a hash / rso maker, i also pulled over 1,000 grams of wet fan leaf, and a few hundred grams of trim which yields great medicine not accounted for in harvest #s00

Day 36 she keeps stretching and looks very happy i'm also very happy because soil PH is finally good, now it's 6.5PH after watering with 5.2 PH'ed water(with nutes in it) for the last several waterings. Light is 30cm away from the canopy ~850 PPFD Cut some leaves from center of the canopy for better air circulation and light penetration. Day 38 : watered with 2.5 L of water with nutes and 5.6 PH water, runoff water PH is now perfect 6.5 Day 39: She's been stretching very well, can't wait to deflate already(maybe tomorrow) Day 40: deefoliation day finally has come! And i'm so happy how she turned out after all. I did some LST to even out canopy for better light penetration and air movement! Note: she uses much Calcium - Magnesium (cal-mag) soo you definitely need to add it in your water.

8 weeks 5 days.

This plant was an absolute dream to. Grow, no issues at all with health of plant, just struggled to tame her as she was a a thick strong climber 💪💪. I'm so impressed with how this turned out, I could have flushed for another 3 days to make it 12days but I needed the space. After The 2 days of dark I was recommended I can definitely say it has vastly boosted her trichomes and the smell when I opened the tent blew my head away 😍😋 Aiming for a 10-14 day hang dry, The 10-12 weeks curing in jars with humidity packs. I will update with a dry bud weight and smoke test 👌 Bud wet weight is just 500g+ Final bud dry weight is 298g. Of juicy resinous purple and orange buds 😍 smells like sherbert and hang dry smoke test revealed a candy sherbert, no banana yet but hoping like the grow it matures with cure process now. Hits eyes straight away, sandy bottom kids, giggles, munchies, fun time with Mrs, bed. It's remarkable how this girl recover and still well make for a decent harvest.

WE HAVE MITES. I was looking at trichomes and I saw one walking. It looks like they are not spider mites but they are eating the leaves……. I bought predator mites they last 2-3 weeks I will take them out next week so they can die and they can get washed in the trim process. The Sensi bloom I powder so I am feeding 6.1 grams in the solution. This solution is about 11 Liters per day. The buds are exploding. You can see them pop daily with this overdrive. It is truly the magic in the end the buds get super hard, and THICK.
