Cosmic Noodles — Week 5 from Seed Transition Week · Pre-Flower Expression · Two Approaches, One Room Hello everyone, and welcome to a big Week 5 update 🌱 This one is photo-heavy and detail-heavy, so thank you for bearing with us, there’s a lot happening, and we wanted to document it properly. This week marks what we consider a transition / pre-flower week, where hormonal shifts are clearly visible, structure is defining itself, and flowering intent is becoming obvious, especially on one of the plants. ⸻ 🌱 Quick recap for anyone just joining • Two autoflowers, same genetics, same room, same environment • Different early light histories: • One plant received an initial ~15 days under 18/6, then switched to 12/12 • One plant has been 12/12 from seed • Both are now growing side by side under 12/12 • No topping, no cutting, no high-stress training → Only low-stress techniques This run intentionally goes against many traditional autoflower “rules”, and that’s part of the learning process. ⸻ 🌿 Two Low-Stress Training Approaches (No Cuts, No Stress) 🔧 Plant with initial 18/6 period — Clamp-based LST This plant is responding extremely well to structural opening using metal clamps. • Clamps were used early to open the structure horizontally • Most clamps are now hidden under leaf mass, which is exactly what we want • Branching is strong, symmetrical, and well distributed • The plant currently looks like a round, open bush / ball • Internodes are stacking nicely, with great airflow She is not very tall yet, but that’s intentional — she has been pushed outward first. Now that structure is set, we expect vertical growth to accelerate. By the end of the week, she is clearly more advanced in pre-flower, with visible pistils and early flower formation. ⚠️ Important reminder: This plant also has ~15 days more life than her sister, which absolutely plays a role in developmental timing. ⸻ 🍃 Plant 12/12 from seed — Leaf bending & gentle tucking The second plant is trained exclusively through: • Leaf bending • Leaf tucking • Gentle redirection No clamps, no anchors — just guiding light access. She is: • Much taller (around ~30 cm by eye) • Roughly double the size vertically • Growing very fast, with all branches reaching upward • Open, dynamic, and beautifully balanced Her architecture suggests: • A strong root system still building • Rapid vertical expression • A plant preparing itself confidently for flowering She is slightly behind in visible flower development, which is expected given her age, but she is clearly transitioning. ⸻ 🌸 Flower Development & Pistils (White Hairs) On the plant that had the initial 18/6 period, we are seeing many pistils already. These white hairs: • Are the female reproductive organs • Indicate readiness to receive pollen (even though none will) • Signal the onset of flowering The 12/12-from-seed plant will show the same soon — just slightly later, which aligns perfectly with: • Her age • Her different early light history Nothing abnormal here — just biology doing biology. ⸻ 🌿 Leaves, Color & Genetics Both plants are showing: • Deep, lush green • Beautiful leaf texture and definition • No signs of deficiency or stress This is likely a combination of: • Strong genetics • Balanced nutrition • Correct environment • Gentle handling It’s honestly a privilege to watch them grow like this. ⸻ 💧 Watering, Nutrition & Why CalMag Comes In Now Hand-watered plants (the two we’re discussing): • Water: rainwater + dehumidifier-collected water • Very low mineral content → requires supplementation • This week we introduced CalMag Pro at 1 ml/L Why now? • Rapid growth + pre-flower = higher demand for Ca & Mg • Prevents: • Leaf issues • Structural weakness • Uptake problems later in flower Current hand-watering parameters: • pH: 5.9 • EC: 1.43 • Nutrition increased because plants are asking for it ⸻ Autopots (other plants in the room): • Mineral-only approach • Organics don’t work well in autopots • EC: 2.29 • pH: 6.1 Different systems → different recipes → same goal: healthy plants. Photos show measurements clearly for transparency. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Check (Winter Reality) Outside conditions: • 4–5°C • 90–95% humidity Inside: • Temps dropped slightly but remain stable • Day RH ~58% with lights on • Nothing concerning yet That said: • Winter is humid • Conditions may shift • We are watching closely and will adapt as needed For now: all good. ⸻ ☀️ Light & PPFD PPFD is adjusted per plant size, not uniformly: • Ranges roughly 700–850 PPFD • Plants are praying constantly • Clear sign they love the spectrum and intensity Again: light is tailored, not brute-forced. ⸻ 🌱 Daily Handling & Plant Care • Hand-watered plants are taken out individually • Weight is checked • Plants are observed closely • Positions are adjusted so no one feels crowded The room is becoming a mini jungle, and that’s exactly the intention 🌿 ⸻ Fungus Gnats — Honest & Controlled Yes, we have some fungus gnats. • Yellow sticky traps are in place • Watering is controlled • Dry-downs are respected Personally, I see them as: • A manageable part of organic systems • A reminder to stay balanced • Possibly even a mild defense trigger (personal philosophy, not science) They are under control, and roots are healthy. ⸻ New Team Member: Mr. Baggy This week also marks the first appearance of Mr. Baggy — our fluffy blue buddy won in a Grow Diaries contest 🏆 He’s officially part of the crew now, and you’ll be seeing more of him around. ⸻ 🌱 Final Thoughts & Encouragement These two autoflowers are growing beautifully, despite: • Non-traditional light schedules • Different early paths • Ignoring much of the usual “bro-science” This run is a reminder that: • Cannabis does not behave linearly • Each garden is its own ecosystem • Trying, failing, observing, and learning is how knowledge is built I strongly encourage everyone to: • Test things yourself • Think independently • Respect the plant more than the rules Nature often surprises us. ⸻ 🔮 What to expect next • Continued stretch on both plants • Clear flowering progression on both • Structural payoff from current training • Ongoing environmental adjustments as winter continues Thank you all for following along, for your patience with this big update, and for the love and support. This is the first week of flower for Tropicana Cookies F2 and Terple. Really excited about this next crop. Thinking it'll be my best yet!

Cleaned up the #10 mother, with some defoliation, and LST! She's getting ready for her adventure outside this summer! Took more clones from the #4 mother, and cleaned her up. Happy growing! :)

Als die Jiffys durchgewurzelt waren habe ich sie in 1.2L töpfe umgetopft. Gieße sie alle 2 Tage mit 180ml. Nur wasser da ich BioBizz AllMix Erde habe.

They are still not too happy with me... Not liking the nutrient strength I choose again.. So after 24hrs of just ph water and 1/4 strength hydroguard. No change I thought they would appreciate just water and a root stimulate. But no change in root or plant mass. Looking like they are very stunted from nutrient burn. So moving forward I went with same strength as the 1st feeding that they liked. But I did it in a hurry before work and realized after the fact that I put that same amount I put before but didn't account for lowering the water level to 3.5 gal from 4gal. So end up being slightly stronger then before. I did add 0.5ml of hydroguard to each bucket. Also added 0.5 of bud candy to each bucket. But hoping they work with me fingers crossed. 4/12/2023 5.8/72°F/221(Left rear) 5.8/72°F/227(Middle front) 5.8/72°F/214(right rear) No sign of transitioning to flower yet. 4/14/23 Colorado Cookies recovered and jumped like a inch looking alot better! Overall Height 3.5" And I noticed that there was some growth in the root zone. But noticed there is something going on with the upper leafs. Runtz Seems to be recovering but still a little rough. Overall Height 2" But I did notice the roots mass did not change and they still appear to have the brown tint and seems to have gotten slightly worse toward the bottom of 6"net basket. I believe that's contributing to the slow recovery. Still looking alot better tho. Banana Purple Punch seems to have bearly changed at all. There's very slight growth in center. No change to root mass at all. Overall Height 1.5" Found some very helpful information on measuring EC instead of ppm and how to monitor EC and Ph. So will be doing this moving forward. I'm going to redo Banana's bucket to exactly what I gave the 1st time she was happy but this time accounting for the .5 gal change in water level. I'm also looking into if I can use the hydroguard at full strength on nutrient burned autos since its not a nutrient for the plant. But I need to fight the brown roots in runtz tonight. See if I can't get all three happy! And save this grow to a more acceptable outcome. Stats 4/14/2023 6.25Ph/72°F/222ppm(runtz) 6.33Ph/72°F/218ppm(banana) 6.28Ph/72°F/215ppm Cookies I added 1ml total hydroguard to all and added .05 total calmag to all and ph to 5.8 4/15 I changed the water on all buckets. raised the water level back to 4 gal on Banana since it has the smallest root mass. And put full strength hydroguard and full strength rapid start in all buckets amd ph to 5.8 and left it for 24 hrs. I made a floral spray of armor si at 0.33ml to full spray bottle. Wet em down good. Twice today. 4/16 I noticed Banana's leaf tips began to droup a little. So lowered water back to 3.5 gal and mixed the nutrients for 3 gal to be safe and leave ppm for cal mag and bud candy without nutrient burn. Added 0.5 cal mag and 0.5 bud candy. I trimmed all the burned leaf tips off, so I can see if and when it burns again. And since it was the best my test has looked yet I took a video and some pictures. But still need to figure out whats going on with Colorado cookies. Has spotty yellowing. Thought maybe light burn. So checked and raised like a inch or so. But there leafs below that are almost fully yellow. Like nutrient deficiency. Trying to read her but not getting it yet. gavw them a spray of armor si. 4/17 ph to 5.8 bucket stats. Sprayed with armor si 6.1/74°F/200ppm/425uscm/0.85EC(Runtz) 6.3/72°F/207ppm/440uscm/0.88EC(Banana) 6.0/74°F/210ppm/446uscm/0.89EC(cookies) Thinking about LST cookies and pull top down. But want to address the yellowing 1st. 4/18 I changed the water in buckets to just water with 50ml hydrogen peroxide 3% to 3.5 gal water and left it for 3 hrs. During this 3 hrs I turned both fans off and made a foliar spray with 0.30 ml gh flora trio and 0.25 cal mag and sprayed them down and turned the light off for 3 hrs. So after the 3 hrs peroxide treatment. I changed water out with fresh water and did my nutrient differently. I got the EC of my tap water whixh was between 0.19 and 0.23 between the buckets. Then I added cal mag to 0.5EC And added nutrients base and additions to a EC of 1.0. Then I added 4ml hydroguard to 3.5gal. This week the flowers became bigger and denser. They all look very healthy, and the smell is really strong right now. If you enter the house you can smell it right at the entrance... Today I have increased the lights to 100% and the sunrise simulation was on as well. My prediction is that the Sweet ZZs will be the first plants that are ready to harvest, then the Royal Cookies, and then Green Gelato. I've set the dehumidifier to 40% humidity, because I would love to protect the buds from rotting. The temperature is around 25-26 degrees, the humidity is very stable.

What an awesome week its been aside from some heat and light stress the ladies are recovering and loving life

Controlamos ph 6,5 temperatura y humedad dentro de los parámetros correctos. Añadimos bud candy para ir aportando a las flores los nutrientes necesarios para una mejor formación y sabor. Por lo demás nada nuevo, todo va bien, entre riego y riego son 72h lo que pasan , en vez de 48h como pasa con el sodio. También se agradece en ese aspecto. Un saludo fumetillas y muy buenos humos 💨

Almost week 10 This grow went by soo fast. I watered with molasses and the kelp4less extreme blend ph to 5.6 range. digital meter says 6.1 but my fluid tester is orange with slight tint of yellow. ppm going in are low and is pulling out about 700ppm of salts. highest its ever been for this stage . but from what it started out as I got it to normal ranges with out plant freaking out. added a video and a few pics of the veg side. I got new tsw2000 light in as a backup the new design is soooo much better then ones i bought. I also got my order in from seedsman og kush , peyote wifi cbd , strawberry grape banana , and white widow regular. Can hardly wait to start the breeding! So far the mite sighting looks to be a one off fluke as no others have been spotted.

July 20: smoke arrived this morning to go with our heat wave. Awesome. Starting force flowering this evening. Will put plant in dark garage for 12 h darkness for a couple of weeks to initiate flowering. Already started flowering, but I really want to force it along to improve bud quality by having the buds ripen under stronger sun. In dark garage by 9 pm followed by 730 nm far red light and then out at 7 am. The far red light is a bloom booster because it initiates dark mode 2 h faster and is like getting a 26 h day. So, 10 h in garage plus 2 h from far red light is 12 h darkness and 14 h of daylight. Rock on. July 21: obvious stretch from overnight in the hot garage. Recorded as 14 h daylight with overnight temp listed as 24 C but it was easily 30 C when going into garage. Hot and smoky. Anyway, lots of misting and watering and seems to be doing great. Addded bloom nutes in top dressing at end of last week. July 22: still too hot but she’s still managing to grow. Now up to 40”. July 25: now 44” so four inches in three days. July 26: notably large stretch overnight probably grew another inch. This Blueberry Pie was always neck and neck with my other photoperiod, but she is pulling ahead in height now that flowering is starting. So far so good. Windy today and the plant was catching too much. Defoliated fan leaves in the middle so it’s not so much of a sail. Don’t really want o be removing fan leaves, but was best option. In ground or a bigger bag are not options so gotta make it work. Worth it to be able to move around in pursuit of direct sun. #seedsman420growoff #seedsmanseeds

2018-03-13 Week 11 Day 1 As I mentioned last week, the girls are growing like crazy since I changed to 600W HPS,and even though they haven't grown so much higher, they are definetly wider because of LST. My growroom is only about 1.8m2, so now the girls are so wide that there's not enough space for them to get wider, so now I will let them stretch. Nr 1 is 44 cm Nr 2 is 39 cm 2018-03-14 Day 2 I LST'd the girls one last time and also defoliated them mildly so all the tops get as much light as possible,hopefully increasing the yield in the end. I also turn the girls 1/4 lap every day to ensure that all sides of them get as much exposure to light as possible, it would've been great to have some kind of turntable that turns the girls 1 lap in 12 hours,, but until I find out a device that does just that,I'll keep on doing ti manually. They managed to breed a strain that was soon a popular choice in coffee shops of the Netherlands, most likely due to the soaring and intense Sativa high. Zambeza Seeds thought that the productiveness of Power Plant should never be forgotten and created an updated version, to bring the legend back to live. Power Plant XL yields up to 600-750g/m² in a flowering period of approximately 55 days! The efficiency and productiveness of Power Plant XL fears no comparison with many recently bred cannabis strains. Indoor heights of 80-110cm make this sativa-dominant variety relatively easy to grow, but outdoor growers need to be aware of the power that is being released under the sun. Outdoor plants can easily reach heights of 150-200cm, and yields of 500-600g per plant. The taste of Power Plant XL can be described as a delightful blend of sweet and sour flavours, with subtle hints of pine tree in the background. Smokers who appreciate a very strong and uplifting Sativa high will be more than satisfied with the effects. One will experience feelings of euphoria that are definitely intense and uplifting, typical for a South African Sativa like this. The up-high can also evolve into being more relaxed, especially when larger quantities are being consumed. Some people suspect Power Plant to be grown in large commercial operations around the world. It doesn’t really matter if these assumptions are the truth or myths, but Zambeza’s breeders are very proud to bring this highly productive legend back to live. So here we are Growmies, we arrived at the long-awaited flowering period. Basically this week wasn’t as busy as the previous ones. Watered twice but apart from that there is not much happened. I tucked the longer branches under the net. Light intensity is 75% now. I didn’t even make photos at the beginning of the week. Exciting times are coming so we hope the Sisters keep their good health and happiness.🌱😎🗽

Candyman is now 99 days old! Day 49 of flower and they are looking unbelievably beautiful and smelling crazy strong. I am aiming to do one more feed and then a 7-10 day flush if they are all ready anyway. I really am gutted i couldn't take cuts of pheno 3 😭 all in all I'm super happy with this run. Update: day 53 of flower and they just look unbelievable 😍 nearly time for a 7-10 day flush. I've now lowered the light intensity for the final weeks

The Mentha de Croco mutants truly live up to their name, with each leaf telling its own story—some broad and serrated, others narrow and elongated, all equally breathtaking. Watching them evolve week by week is a lesson in patience and appreciation for the beauty of diversity in nature. 🌡️ Environmental Conditions Good news on the environmental front! The room’s temperature has stabilized to a more comfortable range, with daytime temps at 22°C and RH steady at around 66%. These are near-ideal conditions for vegetative growth, helping the girls to stay happy and stress-free. The stable climate contributes to the vibrant health and vigor they display—always praying to the lights like the champions they are! 💧 Feeding & Nutritional Care Nutritionally, we continue with the tried-and-true regimen: • Aptus Regulator 🌟 • CalMag Boost • Start Booster I’ve completely transitioned to using the All-in-One Pellets, which are doing a fantastic job of delivering slow-release organic nutrition directly in the soil. The decision to stop liquid feedings with the All-in-One Liquid was the right move, and it’s clear the girls are loving the steady supply of essential nutrients right at their roots. Additionally, I’ve been sticking to bottom-watering. Filling the trays and allowing the soil to wick up moisture not only ensures the roots get what they need but also keeps pesky gnats at bay—especially when paired with yellow sticky traps. This method has made a noticeable difference in keeping the grow area clean and pest-free! 🛠️ Cultivation Techniques: To Clone or Flip? The big question of cloning or flipping still hangs in the air. I’m taking my time to observe and assess their progress. Each plant is so unique that I want to give them the space and time to reveal their full potential before deciding. Let’s touch on the two potential strategies for next steps: 1. Flipping to 12/12 for a Short Period: This would allow me to determine sex quickly, but it can stress the plants slightly. 2. Cloning: Creating clones and flipping them instead is a great way to preserve the integrity of the main plants while identifying males and females without disrupting their growth cycle. Both approaches have their merits, and I’m leaning toward cloning once they’re big enough to snip without harm. 📸 Photography Corner: Highlighting Details This week, I brought out the cameras again—my trusty Nikon and Sony with interchangeable lenses—because, let’s face it, phone cameras just don’t do justice to the intricate beauty of these plants. Whether it’s the textures of the leaves or the play of light on the water droplets, having the right lens makes all the difference. For close-ups, I used a macro lens, which allowed me to capture every vein and serration on those incredible mutant leaves. For a wider perspective, I switched to a standard lens to showcase their overall growth.
