Moby Dick is a feminized sativa dominant cross between Haze and White Widow. This is a legendary strain in the Dinafem line. It has a large number of prizes in many Championships. Its high THC and THCV content creates a really powerful mental effect. The plant needs a lot of light and fertilizers. It grows like a typical sativa with a height of 3.5 m. You need to control the PH level. The harvests are really huge. Indoors, the crop will yield 650 g / m2, and outdoors you can harvest up to 1500 g per plant. Moby Dick has a very strong smell. This is a combination of lemon, incense, cedar and spices. The effect is incredibly powerful, similar to a strong blow. This is reminiscent of psychedelic, narcotic shades. The variety causes a brutal appetite!

It was fun growing this strain. This grow was meant to be fully in Autopot but because of its nutrient hungry nature, it's caused frequent nutrient lockouts which made me flush every 2 weeks or so. Just after flipping, i started manual top watering for the rest of the grow. So much more improvement after that but defeated the whole purpose of convenience growing in Autopot. Watering 8 plants everyday was annoying to say the least. Had to invest in a wet vacuum to avoid lifting the pots to empty run offs.
Responded well to mainlining and multiple supercropping. Seriously impressive how this strain rebounds back so fast after every high stress training. It showed its sativa dominant phenotype with its intense flowering stretch which forced me to perform multiple supercropping to maintain even canopy.
Did a simple comparison of mainlining - 8 colas vs 16 colas. 16 colas gave an average of 20-30g more. 16 colas would be great with scrogging. Without it and relying on stakes can be a little troublesome to support the tall and lanky branches even more so when the buds pack in weight. So 8 colas is more practical if scrog net is not used.
The smell during grow was only prominent during late flowering. Very strong sweet mango smell with a hint of citrus.
I was going for high yield for extracts experimentation and boy this plant deliver. Very happy with the yield. 663g and together with Critical Jack 1.2kg total yield for this grow!!! Never would have believed it more than a year ago when I was still smoking shitty brick weed and if someone told me that I would be growing more than a kilo of premium buds.🙂
Dried for 7 days and cured for another 7 days before smoke test. The buds are dense and thick. Sweet mango and citrusy smell with spices and earthy undertone. Starts off with typical sativa intense head rush and euphoria which lasted for about 1 hour followed by a little stony effect but not too heavy. No paranoia. Strong munchies though. Music especially sounded amazing. So put on your best pair of headphones and listen to any well remastered album with excellent soundstage.🙂
Groeide vorig jaar 1 MD buiten. Moest het vier keer met 60 cm inkorten om te voorkomen dat het over mijn 2 meter hoge hek groeide. Het is zeer bestand tegen het weer, maar vertoonde in de late stadia een klein beetje meeldauw door een zeer natte late herfst.
De gerookte bloem had een uitstekende smaak en was sterk. Een van mijn favorieten nu. Heb maar 225 gram kunnen oogsten, maar dat kwam doordat ik het constant terugknipte.
Van plan om er dit jaar één volledig te laten groeien na één keer toppen in het begin.
