Medium: ๐Ÿฅฅ๐Ÿฅฅ๐Ÿฅฅ๐Ÿฅฅ Coco remains as the most manageable medium in our arsenal. Itโ€™s simplistic, similar to conventional soil but as a nutrient neutral medium, itโ€™s also much more tailored to the growers preferences in terms of feeding. Itโ€™s best attribute is excellent drainage and consistency - a lot fluffier than soil which definitely translates to faster growth rates. Itโ€™s a damn shame that this particular grower forgot the cardinal f$&@king rule when it comes to any grow - always water to run off and pay attention to the strength of the feed in relation to the plants growth stage. If we had followed these basic principles we wouldnโ€™t have run into the serious late stage burn that almost toasted the whole plant. On the flip side of that, coco flushes out incredibly well and if not for this attribute, the whole grow wouldโ€™ve been an unmitigated disaster. Method ๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐ŸŽš๏ธ๐ŸŽš๏ธ Uggghhh - hindsight f$&@โ€˜n sucks sometimes. Best descriptor for how we grew this girl - imagine having the dinner table set with your finest china, a bottle of the most expensive red wine you can find, a brand new top-o-the-line BBQ, and then burning the absolute f$&k out of a $40 prime rib. Thatโ€™s exactly how this grow feels... We were looking to scrog it the whole time and this went perfectly. The plant helped quite a bit with longer than expected internodal spacing. This allowed for a really even canopy/bed of buds. Again though, the vipar 450w (truly a 200w~) shit the bed mid veg. And we needed a replacement. Went with a 100w SpiderFarmer QB. While I truly am pleased with the purchase I do believe that we shouldโ€™ve uppโ€™d to the 200w model (or 2, 100w models) to achieve a similar output and result - @silverback_guerilla was right on point with the lighting advice (*again). Given the reduced yield it just feels like the nodal spacing and overall bud quality may have suffered with the reduced power. This, despite the better light spectrum and overall coverage in general. As an aside - an additional Fixture is now on the way๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘. Worst part about this is weโ€™ll never really know what the true limiting factor actually was due to the nute burning. Probably the single most stupid, rook mistake I couldโ€™ve made was not watering to runoff.... just too much shit going down in the world (and in life) these days and I started to treat the grow like it was on auto pilot๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ๐Ÿคฌ. The whole worlds a cluster f$&k right now so why should the grow be any different right? 4/5 for the method, losing1 point because the grower is a lazy moron. Yield/Harvest๐ŸŒด The final numbers are better than expected, 2.26oz of usable bud. Not overly fluffy and not overly dense. Not glazed in frost but not without a little shimmer. All around mediocre unfortunately. What it coulda? Shoulda? Woulda been??? Note sure ๐Ÿค” but weโ€™ll take it๐Ÿ‘. On a more positive note - There was still another new addition to our grow cycle. This time on the back end. Everyone knows that trimming just plain sucks. When weโ€™re spittโ€™n out 3-4 plants every few months, the exercise is a dreaded necessity if were gonna maintain the vast array of choice that weโ€™re used to๐Ÿค™๐Ÿ‘Œ. The whole process just for one plant can take hours unless you have help. We prefer to wet trim too so for those that donโ€™t require a commercial size trimmer, the only option to save some time is a trim bowl. We bit the bullet, dropped the cash on one - have NOT been disappointed at all! Not only did it cut the chop process from 2-3 hours down to a mere 45 minutes, the buds literally came out rack ready. There was no need to do any touch up trimming and the bud photos you see are as-is, right out the bowl๐Ÿคฉ. Really coulda used this last fall and I would recommend this to anyone who chops more than a handful of plants per year. Just awesome and worth every penny!๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿ‘ At times like these, we should all just be thankful that we still have both the opportunity and ability to grow our ownโœŒ๏ธ. Best be to all of you and stay safe out there.๐Ÿ‘Š Background For those not in the know, SSSC has been around for 40 years. Out of Amsterdam, they are the 2nd such breeder to market their genetics worldwide and can lay claim to the origins of their beans better than most (if not all) others. Theyโ€™ve produced here an indica hybrid cross of M33/Friesland Indica with an elite clone of Lava Cake. Weโ€™re hoping to encounter one of the purple phenos but only time will tell. Sheโ€™s supposed to be super strong too and not for the faint of heart ๐Ÿ‘. Weโ€™ve been waitโ€™n on this one awhile and sheโ€™ll be getting individual treatment in the small cab - 5gal. Coco w/perlite and the typical nute regimen. Advance props for the best packaging Iโ€™ve ever seen (although you may need to be an 80โ€™s baby or older to truly appreciate it๐Ÿ˜‰). See week 1 photos.

I have also lowered the light a bit, increased the nutrients to 2ml per 1000ml and watered about 4/500ml. I have also changed the light schedule to 20 hours again. Also I don't know why I have done the LST the way I have, i saw something similar on YouTube and the stem was bending in that direction one day so I thought I would give it a go. It might not have been the smartest move on my first grow but who knows, we will see. I am thinking about getting Advanced Nutrients BigBud and was wondering if anyone thinks it is worth it or to stick with what I am using the whole way through before flush?

Day 56: Nothing special this week other then I found out another reason for the stretching of the plants. They did not stretch that much as the Gorilla's but they still did some. I don't know where i was of what i was doing but suddenly it came into my mind. Well normaly i use seperate veg and flower basic nutrients. This time, I used a new basic nutrient i never used before. This basic nutrient has veg and flower nutrients for the whole cycle. So the growth of the plants where stimulated to longer. This is fun when you grow huge plants for a long time, not if you plan to only veg for 3-4 weeks, 1-2 weeks preflower with maybe 6 to 9 weeks of flowering.

5 years later putting some closure to this diary. The reason I stopped it 5 years ago is because of where I lived and thought I was going to get In trouble. Was able to go back and find the photos for this plant when harvested. Really enjoyed growing this and was one of my favorite highs Iโ€™ve ever grown. Got so high on it had to go to the ER one night LOL. God bless everyone!

Pure Ice cream clone is doing well. I trimmed her up some. Took a lot of lower stuff off. I will likely do more soon. She is really needing a bigger potter. I need to do that soon. Beside that she is doing good. Thank you Pure Instinto, Medic Grow, and Spider Farmer. ๐Ÿคœ๐Ÿป๐Ÿค›๐Ÿป๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŒฑ Was transplanted 2 days after update. Yesterday I discovered that, in order to change my timer, I didn't put the clock back onto it. Now they had 3 hours more light on the third day of flowering. Exactly the kind of oopsies this grow really doesn't need. But it happened and all back on a normal schedule, but I hope the OHS en GG4 aren't affected by it too much... One accidental re-vegging is more than enough for a year. Also, these sensitive strains can hermie on me for lesser reasons so from now on I'll be checking for male signs daily. The XTraKush is performing as advertised, with enormous stretch, these plants can go 10 ft up according to the breeder. So I'm tying them down and managing this to fill out the space. With all the stuff going on, this 'underdog' strain might even prove most resilient, when all is said and done. They seem to respond really well to the SP-3000 light and If you are in the market for a new light, consider this option from Mars Hydro. Thank you @MarsHydroLED for letting me try it, it is a dream of a light. I compared it to my old light again and PAR values are not even in the same ballpark. Thank you for checking my diary and taking the time to read my adventures! Hug Bud

Flowering day 52 since time change to 12 / 12 h Hey guys :-) All ladies look very healthy and delicious :-) We're slowly getting closer to the end. This week it was poured 3 times with 1.2 l each (sewing materials see table above) At the next watering there is a very light rinse with Clean Fruits so that the last nutrients can be slowly used up. The trichomes are now checked every day. I'm looking for my microscope with an app so I can take pictures of it ๐Ÿ‘. I wish you a lot of fun with the update and stay healthy You can buy this Nutrients at : https://greenbuzzliquids.com/en/shop/ With the discount code: Made_in_Germany you get a discount of 15% on all products from an order value of 100 euros. You can buy this strain at : https://www.exoticseed.eu/de/hanfsamen/hippie-therapy-cbd Water ๐Ÿ’ง ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ง Osmosis water mixed with normal water (24 hours stale that the chlorine evaporates) to 0.2 EC.
