Durban Poison Grow Journal: Week 23 Update We are officially in bloom! * Canopy & Vigor: The Durban Poison photoperiod crew is looking exceptionally strong, maintaining impressive lateral spread and building a lush canopy out on the deck. * Flowering Transition: The girls are powering through the bloom cycle, showing fantastic vertical structure, strong stacking along the main colas, and steady development at every node. * Nutrient Management: With the shift into the new month, the setup is primed for a fresh round of top-dressing with nutrient-rich amendments to sustain heavy flowering demands. * Environment & Health: Sitting comfortably in their 25-gallon fabric bags on dollies, the plants are soaking up the high-desert sunshine, while the companion marigolds continue to thrive right alongside the root zones. Update 8.23.26: Before the sunrise this morning, I got up and applied a top dressing of kelp meal to the plants to help with the flowering stage. It should help with Bud density. turpenes and tricombe development. Because I ran ran out of my liquid nutrients, I'm going with worm casting for nitrogen, Seabird guano for the phosphorus and kelp meal for the potassium.

I want to thank all the growers that take the time to post their work and results, these journals were invaluable in my grow. I also want to thank Royal Queen Seeds for making such a resilient plant available to people like me... I really tortured this girl. Site update really ruined the experience of posting for me for the moment ... so Im going to take a break for a bit and perfect my craft on my own while it works out the kinks.... I cant post many pics, the order of which I can organize them is locked out or moves to another position, and it takes forever to fully load the page so I can edit or update. But I 'really' wanted to finish this journal, so here it is. I promise to be back better than ever once the site works it all out. Hopefully not too long. This was my first seed to weed grow and I learned a lot. I hope my notes, pictures, and videos benefit someone else as well. My results were not typical, Im sure I could have done better, and I will continue on my path to learning and becoming an experienced cultivator of cannabis with skills I can be proud of.

Last week, instead of 2 g of GHSC Powder Feeding, I only gave 1.5 g p l of substrate so that I can give you another 1 g per l of substrate next week so that it lasts until the end :-). It is developing very well and the buds are starting to grow :-). The week was poured 3 times with 1.1 l each time. once of them GHSC Enhancer was added :-). Her flowers are continuing to bulk up and are covered in glistening trichomes. She appears to be starting to fade which is exactly what I'm hoping to see, meaning that she's just about used up the nutrients in her medium. I watered today with 1.5g of de-chlorinated water which was then ph'd to 6.6 @ 72℉ turned her pot and shot a few pictures of her. 10/6- Today I watered her with 1.5g of her usual straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and turned her pot. She's definitely starting to fade, is still stacking her flowers, bulking up and has an incredible amount of trichomes which I'm beginning to monitor daily. 10/8- The routine of watering every other day continues like clockwork. Yesterday was a 'no water' day and I did a basic check over of the plant, removed a couple of yellowed lower leaves and turned her pot. Today she got the usual 1.5g of straight de-chlorinated water that's ph'd to 6.5 @ 72℉ and had her pot turned. I've also begun to check her trichome development with a digital USB microscope to try to identify the ideal harvest time which will be here in around two weeks +/-. 10/10- Well, Week Eight has come, gone and has been a trial once again of my patience with this Ten Week cultivar! She's so freaking frosty that I've wanted to chop her several times but, I know from experience, good things come to those who wait... then wait a bit more. I anticipate that she's not going to make the 70 days in flower 'suggested' by the breeder and will probably go in the dark later this coming week, but we'll have to see what her trichomes have to say! I've cut the wattage back on the HLG 650R to 500w at the wall now to simulate the way that sunshine becomes weaker as fall approaches due to the lower angle of the sun in the sky. This helps outdoor plants to know that winters on the way and they need to hurry up and complete their life cycle. Cutting the wattage back creates the same effect on the indoor plants, especially when coupled with lowered temperatures in the tent. I have also noticed that her water uptake has slowed. After her heavy watering on the 8th, her pot still had some weight to it and she was looking great so I went ahead and skipped watering her today, watering her tomorrow at lights on with her usual. Hi growmies, unfortunately I skipped a day checking on the reservoir and the plant must have consumed a lot more water than expected, probably due to the heat we are experiencing where I live, since I realized tip burn getting worse everywhere I checked the ec, which was close to 3 😳, topped up with RO water right away and this seems to have stopped it. Other than that I don’t think it bothered the plant too much either, as she keeps on swelling bigger and bigger. A&B fertilizer was reduced already and once, either next week or the one after I’ll start flushing, depending on the stage of ripening.

Finished, plant smells intoxicating sweet and fruity, i also found a clear fragrance of chocolate. Smells do delicious, cant wait to taste the first fresh cured buds. I had some mildew, i immobilised it with uv-c light, killing the fungi and spores.

The girls are fully in flower this week which of course is a GREAT sight to see when opening the tent. The smell in the tent is so sweet and fruity it's already making your mouth water!! So this week I feed the girls with a little of the living soil veg so they are still getting a helping hand. They were also given the living soil bloom and some barley which I will admit is the first time using it but so far me plus the girls are very much enjoying!! I have done the necessary light de-foliating on all 4 girls over the past 2 weeks and more LST. Happy toking guys and girls!! 🗓️ WEEK 2 / DAYS 8-14 (flo) 💧 To tackle this week, I've increased the EC to 1.8, PH is nicely oscillating between 5.9 and 6.1. Her thirst is definitely increasing, as she's now drinking about 2.5 LT/day. 🌱 As early as day 10 of flowering she was already clearly showing preflowers – much earlier than any other photoperiod strains I've grown before, I'm really impressed! The plant seems to have undergone a complete metamorphosis and has become absolutely beautiful; you can really see it in the video I took on day 14 flo. Around mid-week, I did another round of defoliation – nothing too extreme, but it was necessary to improve air circulation and expose more of those preflower sites to the light. In terms of stretching, she shot up from 29 cm to 42 cm this week!
