Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Has crazy structure. Super stacked and compact

I think there’s been some sort of salt build up / nutrient lock. The lower leaves have been turning a lighter green and some even yellow on SL plants. Most stems are red. Seems like it’s a pH problem. I flushed them with 4-5 litres of water to reduce the nutrient concentration in the roots. Going to introduce molasses in next feeding! Organic Unsulphered And also stop the Micro (nitrogen)

wow! this girl also took the fish shit i gave her last week and turned it into huge buds! I am going to do this every year from now onwards. No visible PWM either, just like the others. Will go out to the pot patch mid week after this leftover weather from hurricane Fiona clears to see how they fared in the high humidity and low temps.

Been another smooth week. A few of the plants are starting to show signs that they are moving towards to finish line. Seeing some swelling, pistils starting to brown, and some beautiful purples coming out in some of the buds. Been debating on giving them a dose of dry koolbloom, but I will probably just keep them running on the maxibloom until flush since they look pretty happy. Thos candy cane is popping up a lot of deep purple tones but I'm not really liking the lack of swelling in the calyxes at this point. She has a nice sweet candy aroma, but I am thinking she will be the loser of this grow when judging bag appeal alone. Hoping she puffs up over the next week or so.

She's bushing out real good..... I'm going to pinch her again in a couple of days.... so she will be even bushier... yeah I see the brown spots...... I'm thinking nute burn.... she's growing just fine

This is where I really started to take a lot more pictures! Everything was coming along great, I had some slight nutrient lockout starting this week but I took care of it quickly! They respond very well to the training.

🌸 Woche 5 der Blüte Die Early Skunks sind jetzt mitten in der Blüte und entwickeln sich richtig stark. Der Stretch ist so gut wie durch und die Pflanzen haben ein schönes, gleichmäßiges Blätterdach aufgebaut. Die Blüten werden von Tag zu Tag sichtbarer und setzen schon ordentlich Harz an. Das DWC-System läuft stabil: frische Nährlösung, klare Werte und die Wurzeln strahlend weiß. Genau so soll es in dieser Phase aussehen. Die Pflanzen nehmen sehr gut auf und zeigen keinerlei Mängel oder Stress – Farbe, Struktur und Wachstum sind voll im grünen Bereich. Das Klima bleibt konstant und das Setup arbeitet sauber zusammen. Licht, Luft und CO₂ greifen perfekt ineinander, wodurch die Pflanzen richtig Tempo machen. Fazit: Sehr starke Woche. Gesunde Pflanzen, satte Farbe, stabile Blütenentwicklung. Alles bereit für die nächsten Wochen, in denen die Buds jetzt richtig zulegen werden. 🌱🔥

Day 46, plants are slowing down. They'll be one more push, but this will not be like the last week and a half so itsbtime to slow things down. I see some signs that i need to reduce the nutrients. Signs being slight tip burn on a very few the fans with a hook upwards indicating transpiration doesn't balance with light intensity, more noticeable and trustworthy signs are the darker shiney/waxy leaves inside the canopy. I'm not sure if my video uploaded or its quality while I write this, so I will comment on that later. Being only 3 weeks until harvest I've also cut the CO2. If looking close, the upper buds are starting to throw new pistils and elongate indicating that the co2 and heat may cause foxtailing if I push any further. I've reduced co2 from 850 to 650 and light from 1000ppfd, to 850ppfd and then this morning to 700ppfd. End of next week I will reduce even further to around 550ppfd before the last week at 400ppfd during the flush. All this lowers the temperature and slows transpiration. I've reduced the EC from 2 to 1.7EC and turned on my mister as well to maintain humidity to 55% . One less variable to worry about..humidity was fluctuating 47-53% last week. Higher humidity also slowing transpiration of water and nutrients. Hoping these changes have set the girls up to only get just the right amount to finish pretty.. Next week, tomorrow the nutrient mix will have full tilt instead of the bulkyB.

Woche 14

Plants transplanted into 30l final pots, with 1g/l Greenhouse Feeding BioGrow in it. They're doing nicely, and I'm starting to LST the top two nodes horizontally while those below catch up. Topping and re-topping. Two are showing a little sign of Nitrogen toxicity which I'll keep an eye on.

Middle 2 plants stretched a lot week 3 of flower. They were growing slower in veg so I flipped to flower as soon as their canopy reached the net (barely LST these 2 plants with the net given their slower growth). Then week 2-3 of flower they took off. Did some defoliating to expose bud sites further down with the intent to increase yeilds.

First of the 4 plants that goes down, i am going to give one more week to the other three. 🍁🍁

Removed a lot of stalks to point the plants energy where I want it. Not a lot more to say -
