I (trans)plant with the puck off center and train the main cola all the way down without topping. HST the main stem at the base and every 3 nodes. Cut any branches that are going to crowd -- not an issue on this crop -- and this run i&#039;m trying topping all of the branches&#039; sub-branches instead of removing them. They grow into crowding suckers anyways but can still be buds at the base of colas if not removed. I use short length of soft rubber-coated wire ties, with twist ties to secure them to craft safety pins on the bag.
