I have the Y hood. I highly suggest buying a decent cool tube hood. Id recommenf the balast and bulb. But ive never used an HPS. I will say this hood caused light damage pretty badly on 2 of the plants. It was already about 2 feet away but the nature of the y hood is it doesnt quite keep its factory bends, needless to say mine has a hotspot that spans about a 2x2 square. Definitely investing in a new hood asap.

This is only harvest of the most mature plant. But this plant was a monster. It grew fast and took all the water and nutes a threw at it and just kept growing. Mild LST with a mild SCROG and this thing was still 4f 6in.
