This is final harvest week in the growroom Plants are coming down all around me. As always I strip the plants down and put them back under the lights for a few days then I cut them down a hang them by the toes until around 20% humidity which is still a little wet but I like to start the sweating early so it slows the drying down a little and starts the cure Thanks for stopping by and for following along with me on another grow... Day 70-77 (Day 71) Not exactly sure why but node spacing on bbb 6&7 is super tight still. Their stems are also harder and less bendy, almost like they’re root bound. Bbb #5 in my veg tent is looking bizarre and I’m at a loss for what to do. I’ve been looking up and asking around about the leaf crinkle and no one seems to know what’s wrong. Trashing a pheno of this would hurt. It could be a keeper too as I don’t think the problem is genetic. It’s definitely root bound but that doesn’t cause contorted new growth like that. I’ve concluded that it’s my dense soil coupled with root bound issues, overwatering and high RH. (Day 72) Later tonight I’m going to give bbb 5 a bath tub flush until it’s reading 200ppms, drain it well and then transplant into a 3g pot with lightly amended soil. I’m also going to give it a light defoliation. I don’t mind stressing the shit out of this plant right now because I won’t be flipping for another week at least. With the small container it will run out of amended nutes mid flower so I will hit it with a few synthetic feedings around then to test out the smokabilty and taste compared to organic nutrients. I might as well give the rest a good defoliation on the rest of the plants too. I will try to get most of what is under the trellis. (Day 73) I definitely defoliated #7 waaay too much. Since it’s tucked away in the corner and a really bushy plant I can’t train it as well as the others. I cut most of the sucker branches and the majority of the lower fans. This should prevent the need to defoliate at all until week 3 of flower. (Day 74) I’ve been reading that higher temperatures with a high RH can affect growth big time. It could be what’s causing all the crinkling and twisting. And now that the plants are in very late veg they could probably benefit from a lower RH. When I was running my temps around 74-78F and 70% RH I was in the perfect range. Now that I’m around 82-86F with the same 70% RH that could be what’s causing it. Hotter air holds more moisture than cooler air and proper vpd at 84F is around 75-80%. I’m going to turn up the speed on my carbon filter and set my controller to 75%. If I don’t see a difference or it gets worse I will drop to 65 and go from there. (Day 76) I finally got the lights raised up another 4 inches or so. It’s not much but it should help reduce the intensity and stretch the nodes more. I’m starting to think the super tight node spacing and droopy/contorted growth has more to do with something I’ve been reading about called ‘soil compaction’. Apparently farmers often deal with compacted soil in fields from running tractors over it all day. When I potted the plants I gave them a good little jiggle to compact the soil down further so I could fit a bit more in the container. I think this could be the culprit as they don’t seem to be drying out evenly. Even the plants in my other room are not drying out like they should and it’s probably from compacting too. With the addition of rock dust and dry amendments the soil can become sandy/clay like and retain a lot more moisture. Wish I would have added a few more liters of perlite and packed the soil a bit looser. Either way I need to get this problem sorted ASAP before I get root rot. Earlier in the season when I overwatered, I stuck a fish tank air pump into the soil and it aerated the soil enough to prevent overwatering. The only reason I discontinued it is because it didn’t have much effect in the 1.7g pots. I just ordered a 36w 6 way fish tank pump that is way more powerful. It was 50 bucks and I’m willing to take a gamble on it. It seems to be my only option at the moment because I can’t just repot. Worst case scenario I can use it for brewing compost teas if it doesn’t work. I’m not sure how well this will work in a giant fabric pot but it’s worth a shot. I’ve heard of people supplementing additional air into raised garden beds with great results. I’m picking off some of the new auxiliary branches to try and widen the node spacing. Growth is definitely slow and stunted but no signs of deficiencies. I just thought of another theory on the node spacing... and the more I think about it, the more I think it’s the mystery problem. I’ve been foliar spraying with 1-1-1 VeloKelp at pretty high concentrations 2-3 times per week. I have heard in passing that kelp and seaweed can somehow reduce stretch. A quick google search reveals that Ascophyllum Nodosum Seaweed and other marine algae extracts contain large amounts of hormones and auxins that reduce plant height and stretch. *facepalm* Guess I’ll stop that for the rest of the cycle. As far as I know there is nothing I can really do but wait for the plant to use up all those excess hormones and nutes. The recent 0-0-15 seaweed extract and 1-0-3 kelp meal I bought is derived from the same kind as the velokelp. I guess I won’t use it again until week 3 or 4 in flower. Tight nodes are very useful in flower but aren’t desirable at all in when trying to scrog in veg. Especially when they’re like a half inch apart. It slows the shit out of a grow. Vietnamese and biker gangs in my area used to grow SOG style and use a synthetic PGR hormone (meant for bonsai trees) called ‘paclobutrazol’ that would make the weed rock hard dense so they wouldn’t have to pay people as much to trim it. I’ve heard that in recent years they have made the switch to using kelp extracts because paclo is getting harder find and is not meant for food crops let alone smokeable crops. I’m ashamed of it but I have smoked pounds of PGR weed long before I knew what a PGR was. 🤷‍♂️ (Day 77) One more theory. Ever since raising up the plants up onto that shelf the root zone is probably significantly warmer and the bottom of the pot (where most of the roots are) drys out way quicker. It’s possible that the warmer root zone could not be holding dissolved oxygen at the proper rate resulting in that over/underwatered look. Or it could be that I’m not watering enough at once to reach the bottom of the pot where the roots are and it’s indeed under watered. I’m going to water in a gallon when I get my new air pump and see if that makes any positive change. If I see the new air pump making a difference, I will flip on the 21st of April. If I don’t see a difference, I will carefully untangle the plants from the scrog net and remove the shelf. That extra foot should make a massive difference with ppfd and will cool down the roots significantly too. I’m thinking about grabbing a simple soil/compost thermometer to check the temp of the medium. Better safe than sorry. Rough week. Hopefully everything get smoothed out in the next little while before I flip.

Week 4 now and on full out cruise control. Nothing to report as the plants are doing great. Replaced a carbon filter causing heat issues due to it being plugged.

No major changes this week but the plant is still taking 2ltrs of water every 2nd night. I have stopped giving nutrients now so it’s just getting Ph’d water. Some of the lower leaves are turning yellow as expected. From this week on I’ll be dropping the temperature a bit during lights out to help produce more trichomes and also turn it a bit more purple.

Sunday 05-06-2022 Plants chugging along. Supplemented feed yesterday with Recharge. Trying powdered nutrients this week with a relatively high P fertiliser. Trichomes popping up on Plant #2. This grow is different from Test Grow #2, during early development of the grow there was substantial rainfall, the plants are significantly bigger and developing more slowly. Apart from the rain, I suspect that has to do with the fact my previous grow started and ended in short days (less than 12 hours light). This grow is experiencing increasing light, with daylight now 13+ hours.

Week 3 of Flowering is here Very excited to start the next week And see the buds Sites expand 👀 Day 15 Cookies Gelato For weeks I have bin watering when come home and turn lights on . But because I had issues with humidity . I started giving them water in morning when go to work and shut the light off. And i think that worked well . They are looking good and growing nice there some higher buds so it not a even feeld but this my first grow ever . So i am already happy how it is going 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Day 16 Cookies Gelato FRUIT FLIES !!!! i saw that dam bastards last night so ordered me some fly repellent sticky what ever you call those from Amazon hope they catch them all . Plants are doing fine in my 👀 . I am not giving them water now but in the morning when the lights go out and i go to work . That's all folks Day 17 Cookies Gelato Did nothing to them only gave them the required nutrients in the morning. Day 18 Cookies Gelato Left them alone today having some personal issues off my own . That makes difficult to work on the plants hopefully tomorrow will be better Day 19 Cookies Gelato I measured plants today and there about 90 to 95 cm from soil to top. Slitlly getting worried again about hight they are. I hope the grow spurt is over and bud formation will be intensifying . I think if i didn't use any technieks that they would be growing out of the tent right now . Hope for the best Day 20 Cookies Gelato Did something stupid today i left the light on for 18 hours and was afraid i fryed them . But luckily nothing dramatic happened . Not hopefully i didn't do much stress on them . I gave all the plants 1L of water pH 6.5 . And start letting them dry out some . Day 21 Cookies Gelato Last day of week 3 Flowering This week went fast had couple mistake of my own . But luckily my reliable @MarsHydro TS-1000 save me from a catastrophe . I absolutely love the quality that this lamp brings and i am Glad this model has a dimmer . With the baby's is going well nothing going on but goodness

6/13/2023 Week 10- Day 1 of Flower (Day 131 overall) (Day 70 of Flower) Auto Pilot Day 6.. Checked the Trichomes and the bud density and both are looking good.. Definitely needs a little more time for the Trichomes to be where I like, so based on my check I think we are still looking right around the end of the competition 22June to be done and ready for harvest. I do like that the fade is coming in the leaves nicely, so my chart I think is dropping off the Nitrogen exactly like it is supposed to. 6/14/2023 Week 10- Day 2 of Flower (Day 132 overall) Auto Pilot Day 7.. Decided I would take some contrasting pics today with my light up to 100 and my light all the way on Dim. I hope you enjoy the pics. 6/15/2023 Week 10- Day 3 of Flower (Day 133 overall) Auto Pilot Day 8.. Decided to take a look at the Trichome's today and Check to see where they are at and honestly if I might ho ahead and start my flush tomorrow and harvest on Sunday. 6/16/2023 Week 10- Day 4 of Flower (Day 134 overall) (Day 74 of Flower) Today I pulled an Armageddon however instead of darkness they are going to get 48 hours of light. The reason why they are going to get light instead of dark is when I was taking out the netting a lot of the buds were so heavy they fell over and exposed some areas I really want to get some light to... so 48 hours of light at 40% while I watch what should be a beautiful final fade as the plant eats up the last Nutes. If anything goes wrong I can abort take the photos and cut so will pay really close attention to how it is looking over the next 48 hours. Added 30 Gallons of PH only Water. Reduced Lighting to 40% removed program time off. 48 hours of light. 6/17/2023 Week 10- Day 5 of Flower (Day 135 overall) (Day 75 of Flower) I had someone tell me that a few growers had done as I did and Gone Armageddon on the plants. Filling it with PH only and said the plants did not respond well and they were taken out of the comp at the very end because they felt like the pictures just wouldn't come out right. Even though I did go Armageddon, The PPM is at 353PPM with the residue of what was left in the buckets after draining as well as what I am getting from the TAP so I think they are doing good but I am checking them every few hours to see how they seem to be doing and I think they are doing good still and are on track. I also started prepping the area for the pics tomorrow T-24 Hours until Chop 6/18/2023 Week 10- Day 6 of Flower (Day 136 overall) (Day 76 of Flower) (Harvest Day) What a day.. what a day.. what a day.. as I was setting up and trying to figure out how I was going to get my pics #3 stems started breaking, it fell over and other stems broke.. So no really stunning competition photo for her, she had such a nice purple fade.. #2 stayed up in the Tent so that is the one I had to go with to submit for the contest. I wet trimmed them as they went into the tent and they took up three rows hanging in tent. I also decided I wanted to try some so I put a little in the freeze dryer for a 48 hour smoke test.. I will weigh it and add that to my total weight for the plants when it is all done.

Whoa another week. 07-01-2020 ( Day 116) Heat is very strong in January on this latitude. I keep the tent door open almost all the time to help ventilation. She is developing more buds from the former buds, that's waht it looks like, so if this is the way I think I had seen this befor, she would be keeping on growing new little buds from the buds that have been already formed, thus instead of packing on bud weight, she develops more biomass creating new buds and elongating the ones that we already there. Day 117 08-01-2020 Yesterday I forget to cover the tent front with the nylon layer to prevent any light leaking through the zipper and pinholes that there are all over the frontal face, the grow room is at my back, when I sit by the computer, so, the front side gets all the glow from the monitor. So I gave her a continuous long night starting at 8 pm yesterday , lights were on by 8.30 and will be off by 17. Day 119 (10-01-2020) I added 0.2g/L Boost fertilizer (High K and P) twice a week every week, until further observations or whatever. So the final mixture is 0.4 g/L Bloom and 0,2 g/L Boost, plus the other general nutrients/additives. The inlet air fan broke so I had to run to the store to get another one. I hadn't checked before (MY BAD!!) but I'm positive that it broke today. By the way, today is extremely hot! (30 ºC /86ºF) by the mid tent's height where the thermometer is) so I let the tent door open and extra ventilation (of course that microbes, spores, dust and other shit that is getting inside the grow room rampantly in the meantime). Day 111 (12/019 One thing that puzzles me is the fact that some buds are frosty but other look at bare sight, like there were no, butwith the loupe, one sees that there are in fact many of them but very tiny (I hope they'll develop a little more later). The thing is why does it look kind of a different thricome maturation?

At day 18 i topped her. I’m really curious how she’s handle the stress. In the next few days I will bend her down a little and installing a net to hold the plant small. We are ending week 3 shortly! She handled the topping very good. No signs of slowing down her grow or any deficiency. I did some LST after topping but one of the main branches snapped half through. She damaged side still performs exactly like the intact one. I try to be patient and careful with the bending of this branch. I taped the location and try to not bend it hardly anymore.

Same old same old have been on 12/12 for just over 10 days now and starting to really see good signs of flowering. Plants are growing great look nice and healthy. Still feeding and alternating watering straight ph water. Last feeding I really switched to the bloom nutrients and hit one more run of great white. I’ll update again soon as always 🍻

2/4: Photo session day! These are the fastest, most vigorously growing plants in the garden, but also the slowest to flower.😕 I had a total infestation of Cattus (felis) which I documented in my photos. Eradication seems impossible, so I'm opting to allow a degree of predation, but hoping trichome production will, at least, deter them soon.😁 2/5: I fed everybody today with about 3/4 gallon and sprayed them down with Axiom harpin proteins for the last time this run. I made a DIY CO2 generator today using a 5 gallon cat litter bucket, a small aquarium pump, some air line tubing, and a bubble stone, plus 6 cups of sugar and 30 grams of wine yeast in 2 gallons of warm water. I put the tube where the CO2 is exhausted up against the back of the oscillating fan that aims down over the plants so they are being constantly forcefully bombarded with high levels of CO2(1300+ppm) from above. I set the ac infinity controller to allow the temps to climb up to 89f before the fan turns on. 2/6: These girls are taller than anybody else in the garden, and still stretching (unfortunately). Surprisingly, they're also the slowest to pop pistils. They are flowering, but slow as hell for an indica dominant strain. I probably should have left them all in the dark for a full day when I switched to flower to encourage them to flip faster. I bought some Gro-Pro pot risers to elevate the pots so that they will dry out faster..seem pretty effective. 2/7: I foliar fed with big bloom and tiger bloom today. 2/8: I ordered a second 6" AC Infinity fan to connect to my controller, some ducting, and a diffuser which I'll mount to the wall, down near the floor. The fan unit will be in another closet, adjacent to the garden closet, and I'll run ducting up through that closet ceiling into the attic, with a filter on the end to keep bugs and particulates out. For the next 6 weeks or so, it will provide a supply of colder fresh air. I did the math, and it will now only take about 1 minute and 40 seconds to completely exchange the air in the closet. Depending on the outside air temp at the time, it should take anywhere between 8 and 20 minutes for the closet to heat back up to 80f and the fans to kick back on again. This Spring, on days when it's not cooler than 72f, I'll disconnect the duct in the closet and stretch it into that bedroom, clipped to the window unit air conditioner output, cranked down as low as it will go. This Summer, I'm gonna just run a pair of the quantum boards and grow 4 or 5 autos in there, but this should help keep the temps cooler in summer as well, without dedicating an air conditioner to the grow op.🙏 2/9: I foliar fed them with grow big, big bloom, and tiger bloom and checked moisture in their pots. They're due for a good watering tomorrow.

Day 14: These little plants are just truckin along. They’re looking good. They seem a bit small, but are indica dominant so idk yet. I’m heading out of town for a couple days so they’ll get a heavy water and be left on cruise til I’m home. The Fast Buds from last round are curing up nicely and so powerful in potency and aroma. I’m pumped to see how these turn out. The XS2000 is providing a perfect amount of heat at 75% that it just takes a light misting to have these little plants right in the sweet spot for temps and humidity. I’ve said this a bunch, this is a powerful light so I have it set a bit higher than recommended but I want room for them to grow up into without stress. I’d rather have a bit of stretch to contend with rather than light stress. I’m excited to see how they look when I’m home. Hopefully quite a bit bigger!! Happy Growing 🌱
