Big week! I got my new EarthBoxes and a bunch of goodies. I picked up the Probiotic Farmer's Alliance kit from BuildASoil, so I also got some EM-1, Kashi Blend, dolomite lime and Malibu compost. Alongside that I picked up Colorado Worm Compost (vermicompost), Gnarley Barley (malted barley, corn and hemp) and Craft Blend (aprox 3-5-2 organic mix). Unfortunately there was a bag of soil missing, so I ended up using my own mix though I am somewhat scared of it being too clay-heavy for the SIP. I inoculated with EM-1 and began fermenting a batch of activated EM-1 to make the bottle last longer. It looks about a week from LST, after that I hope to set up a two-tier SCROG setup and begin growing the bushes. I will begin spraying AEM-1/EM-FPE/EM-5 alternatively once a week for IPM, I will try to avoid using neem this round (unless I find this approach lacking). I also brewed a batch of EM-FPE with aloe that smells incredible, I can't wait to give it a go.

⸻ 🇬🇧🌱 Week 3 | Cherry Limeade by Doja 🍒🍋 This week didn’t quite go as I had hoped. The little Cherry Limeade is still growing very slowly and is currently only about 4 cm tall. 🌱 I was away on business for five days and had to leave the bed completely on its own. When I returned, the cover crop had absolutely exploded 🌿💥 and completely overgrown the seedling. Honestly, I didn’t expect it to become that vigorous. After trimming it back, the Cherry Limeade finally had access to light and airflow again. I’m also still struggling a bit with dialing in the Blumat irrigation system. It works in principle, but finding the perfect balance with four Maxi drippers in a 130-liter living soil bed is proving to be more challenging than expected. With such a small seedling, water demand changes constantly, while the cover crop can temporarily consume much more water than the cannabis plant itself. 💧 Today the plant also received its first watering with Almicanna Veg Compost Tea 🍵. Other than that, my strategy remains the same: interfere as little as possible and let the living soil do its job. 📊 Current environment: 💡 Light: 200 PPFD (18/6, Level 2, 40 cm distance) 🌡️ Temperature: 27°C 💧 Relative Humidity: 82% 📈 VPD: 0.69 kPa 🌿 CO₂: 750 ppm average 💧 Soil moisture: 80 mbar At this point, this project is as much a test of my setup as it is a grow. Right now I’m not completely satisfied, and I’ve already identified several things I’d like to improve for the next run. That’s all part of the learning process with living soil. Despite the slow start, I’m giving Cherry Limeade every chance to succeed. I’ll be away almost every week over the coming weeks, so the system needs to be able to take care of itself. Either the plant establishes itself under these conditions—or it doesn’t. That’s exactly what I want to learn from this experiment. If this run doesn’t turn out as planned, I’ll start a new attempt this autumn with an improved setup and everything I’ve learned from this grow. Until then, the plan is simple: observe, interfere as little as possible, and keep learning. 🍒🤞

Canopy has began to fill in very nice, actually a little surprised given how lanky the one pheno was looking. My bag seed plant I was holding out hope of being female has let me down, she or should I say HE, showed his first little plant nuts a day or two ago. SMH 🤦‍♂️. Oh well, that's what we got the feminized seeds for anyway 😂. Hopefully we have some little flowers to show you guys in the next week or so! Thanks for dropping by, and will update pics again later in the week : ) HAPPY GROWING EVERYONE!!! 😃

Having just started a Sweet seeds + speed Auto, Red poison auto from sweet seeds was next on my list to be grown with Jack 47 in my arsenal after that. I'm already growing some sensible seeds strains so I didn't want to dip into them. I considered buying a seed for the 'one girl one cup challenge' aka Solo cup competition but knew I'd send myself crazy deciding which I should use. I had half decided I wanted to go Indica dominant as an entry for their shorter size anyway so...... after looking at images online of the Red Poison, I thought it would actually be a good choice. "....So a 16oz cup is a what now?" pint - no litre- no half pint - no 500ml - nope 473ml - yes, ah ha! 473ml = Nothing, the size doesn't exist in the UK. online I can get 10 delivers fow a few quid. I'm not paying that, I'll find something..... Closest ( It's near perfect to be honest) I found was an, ahem... recent... 30 and fab cup. I've videoed it's contents as proof I'm thinking as Indica she's gonna drink a lot (compared to sativas in my opinion) but I also have no drainage. Even though I think she may be a big drinker, I'm not worried about her drying out so much, she'll quickly bounce back from a drying out with a drink. I'm more worried of Over watering I still need to (at time of writing this) actually make a homemade tent first, buy some (probably 2) cheap bulb fixtures, I've still got some foil blanket left from other tents I've made and I've got some spare house hold LEDs I'll bang something together......
