Back with this week's update on our mostly Indica 🔵🔵 BLUEBERRY cultivar bred by DUTCH PASSION SEEDS! I am trying a new format for the weekly summary portion of my diary. Let me know what ya'll think!
👃 AROMA: Her aroma is fairly strong for this stage of flower. Blueberry dankness all the way! I look forward to experiencing the evolution of her terpine profile. One of my favorite aspects of growing cannabis is how much these plants change from start to finish and how much variation is possible with this plant.
❇️ BUD STRUCTURE: She is stacking on big round mounds of calyxes and looks like she is going to have large dense buds!
🎨 Color: She is a lighter almost an olive shade of green, right now. Her bright white pistils have a distinctive yellow hue to them.
🌿 STEM, STRETCH, & INTERNODES: She stretched more than I had expected. She has thick stems and relatively tight internodal growth. She definitely looks Indica in her bud structure.
✂️ TRAINING/PRUNING: I have continued selective defoliation as needed to avoid crowding herself and her neighbors. I remove no more than 25% of foliage at any one time, and usually closer 10-15%. I space out defoliation with a minimum of 3 days between sessions, in most instances. There will be exceptions to that, but this is a good rule of thumb I try to adhere to. She has been trained to have 6 main shoots and I am using LST techniques to gently bend her stems to evenly fill her space without overcrowding.
❄️TRICHOMES/RESIN PRODUCTION: Her buds are already starting to sparkle amd glisten. It looks like she will be a good resin producer!
🚿 WATER/FEED: I have continued with a light bidiurnal misting of White Dutch Clover cover crop . This in conjunction with running lower temps (New AC) has seemed to have drastically increased feeding intervals. My plants are needing much less water than in previous runs. I typically give the whole SOG one feed per week with light watering of select individual cultivars as needed between feeds. I try my best to "read" my garden. The amount of water between feeds depends on how soon the next feed will be. I feed the garden as a whole and this run I have been generally spacing feeds out 5-7 days or until the the first plant shows beginning signs of wilt (slight droop of lower fan leaves).
📝 OBSERVATION/NOTES: She doesnt appear to have any signs of deficiency or toxicity. No indications of stress, disease, or pests.

The cultivar received approximately 1 gallon of solution. I mixed 17 gallons of solution for 17 plants. The solution is applied via wand sprayer powered by a submersible pump attached to a garden hose. Nutrients and additives are added to the reservoir in the order listed below and thoroughly mixed using a large plastic stir spoon. The reservoir is oxygenated by four 4 inch air stones.

Growing cannabis is an art that seems to evolve as you learn it. While it may only take a little knowledge to get started, It seems that this may take a life-time to perfect (doubt I'll ever make that category, but I will certainly try).
So thank-you to the community that Shares, Comments, Follows, and Likes. Your efforts in any of these actions make these journals a worth-while and perfect way for us all to learn and track our efforts. I personally appreciate it.
Also a huge Thanks has to go out to Grow Diaries for making this community even possible. Your efforts to supply the data storage alone is more than enough, but you the fact that you dont stop there and constantly try to improve the experience even more makes this my favorite community to to share on.

Germination Start and incubation period 3/12/24 to 3/26/24

Germination:
First note was about the appearance of the seeds. They were smaller than I am used to seeing, but no damage or deformities and look to be in good shape. Germination took 14 days from dropping in water to transplanting into 1 gallon pots. 23hours in a glass of 6.3ph room temp RO water. 2 cracked open a little and I placed them both in paper towels wet with the glass water and pasted to the sides of the glass for 2 days then checked, no progress. So I freshened the water then waited another 2 days and checked, little to no progress. Then checked again 1 day later and finally was able to move them. One looked fully ready and the other seemed less ready. I placed in rapid rooter pods and closed with toothpick tips. 1 popped out of the pods in 1 day but the other did not. So I gave it 1 more day and started my spare seed. After 4 days of water and towels I replaced the dead pod with a growing sprout. Transplant occurred on 3/27
Veg Day 0 to 6
1gal hard tall pots. Transplant went well. The sprouts are smaller than I would like and seem to be stubborn in growth to start but hoping htat changes with soil. One pod was overgrown in the pods and Im hoping it doesn't reflect in the overall plant production.

Transplant to 1 gal pots:
I am using a 50/50, 50%perlite/50%soil with a .5lb of dolomite lime and a .5ml of flora micro added to .5 gallon of RO water (Im mixing 2 gallons of soil total so the water to soil ratio is 1/4 of the total medium volume) to achieve a soil tested ph of 6.4. I am using a 50/50 soil/perlite mix because I plan to use these in auto pots. I also used about 1 cup of the same soil mix water to pour around the plant after transplant; you can see how the perlite rises to the top where I did this. I sprayed two domes and covered - I plan to leave covered for the first week.
Feed:
I kept them under the domes and sprayed every day that I didnt feed them, to keep humidity up while I let them find water in the soil. By the end of the week I took the domes off and took pictures.
Feed this week was another 1 cup of 6.3ph water 5 days after transplant.
Feed plan next week will increase the amount to 2 cups of plain-no-nute water with about 4 days between feeds. I want to see the water run through so if I need to use more than 2 cups I will. The idea is to water deep and through, but then make them search for more before the next feed, hopefully spreading the roots out while doing it.
Veg Plan:
I plan on 8 colas for each plant. So that will be 3 topping days and a total of 7 cuts.
I will want to cut the first time on day 21 if I have 5+ nodes. I will transfer to 5 gallon auto pots with-in 1 week of the first topping. Once I have 3 nodes of new growth past the first topping, I will top those two branches to the first node again. (that's 3 cuts total by this point) Then, after 3 new nodes of growth after that, I will do a last topping on the 4 branches. (4 new cuts added to make a total of 7 cuts and 8 colas)
I will train the branches using LST/HST with tie downs as soon as I can after the first topping day to help maintain the branches growing where I want them to. I will also introduce an adjustable tomato ring after they have settled into the 5 gallon forever pots to provide support and mobility
Hopefully all goes well, and I will have 1 to 2 weeks of growth before flip after week 8.
I think it sounds more ambitious than it really is, but if you follow this journal, we will see together.

1st of November, HARVEST, D91
So, after the 24 hours of darkness, she is now beautiful and ready. After chopping her, I hung her for some hours – I had some stuff to do – and after that I did wet trimming since I find it more convenient and I don´t like to trim dry buds. I guess the best way for me would be to leave it drying for some days, do the trimming, then leave it drying some more, but, I sincerely don´t have patience lol.
When I was in the last stock to trim (which was the main btw) the top bud looked strange to me so I opened it and it was starting to rot.. I got really sad but what can I do except for trying to save it, right? So I took all the rotten parts out of the top bud and tore it to pieces to watch it closely and keep it from getting any more mold.

Today I weighed the half part of the top bud that was already dry and it remained without any mold: 3.6 grams.

Everything is dry and now curing, the total weight is 68.6, 65 of the whole plant and 3.6 of what I saved from the rotten bud. I´m really happy with the results, the buds aren´t much dense but they look beautiful.

Today I´ll be doing the smoke report, it´s been curing for 3 weeks and the smells is quite good already, I know it can be better but the taste is good already so I´ll be doing it today.

Woche 3 (4seit Keimung) – Vegetationsphase startet richtig durch
Die Mädels sind jetzt offiziell in Woche 4 angekommen und man merkt deutlich, dass sie langsam in die nächste Phase gehen. Das Wachstum hat in den letzten Tagen nochmal spürbar angezogen und die Struktur wird von Tag zu Tag stabiler.
Alle Pflanzen stehen aktuell in 15L Töpfen und entwickeln sich insgesamt sehr gleichmäßig, auch wenn man langsam erste Unterschiede zwischen den Strains erkennt.

Pflanzenentwicklung
Die meisten Pflanzen zeigen jetzt eine schöne, kompakte Struktur mit kurzen Internodien und kräftigen Stämmen. Besonders die GMO bleibt schön gedrungen, während z. B. Blueberry und teilweise Runtz etwas mehr nach oben wollen.
Die Blätter sind satt grün und vital, das neue Wachstum ist teilweise etwas heller, was aber bei dem Tempo absolut normal ist.
Insgesamt wirken alle Pflanzen gesund und stressfrei.

Licht & Setup
Die Lampe wird weiterhin schrittweise erhöht (aktuell moderat gefahren), was sich positiv auf den Wuchs auswirkt. Kein Stretch, keine Anzeichen von Lichtstress – genau so soll’s sein.
Momentan steht die SF3000 bei 50% Leistung mit einem Abstand von 45-50cm.
Der Abstand passt aktuell gut, ich werde die Intensität weiterhin in kleinen Schritten steigern.

Klima
Die Bedingungen sind aktuell ziemlich stabil:
• Temperatur: ~20–23°C
• Luftfeuchtigkeit: ~60–65%
• VPD: ~0.9 kPa
Damit liege ich ziemlich genau im optimalen Bereich für die Vegi.

Gießen
Gegossen wird weiterhin kontrolliert im äußeren Ring, um die Wurzeln nach außen zu ziehen. Die Bodenfeuchte liegt aktuell bei ~34%, was sich als sehr guter Wert herausgestellt hat.
Man merkt jetzt schon, dass der Wasserverbrauch langsam anzieht. Liege jetzt bei 500ml jeden 3. Tag.

Nährstoffe
Aktuell läuft noch alles über die vorgedüngte Erde.
Da jetzt Woche 4 gestartet ist, werde ich in den nächsten Tagen anfangen, den Green House Bio Bloom vorsichtig einzuarbeiten, damit die Nährstoffe rechtzeitig verfügbar sind, wenn die Vorblüte einsetzt.

Ausblick
In den nächsten Tagen wird sich entscheiden, wie stark ich eingreife.
Leichtes LST ist geplant – vor allem bei den etwas streckfreudigeren Pflanzen, um ein gleichmäßiges Canopy zu bekommen.
Ansonsten gilt weiterhin: beobachten, reagieren, nicht übertreiben.

Fazit
Ich bin aktuell echt zufrieden mit dem Stand.
Die Pflanzen sehen gesund aus, das Setup läuft stabil und alles entwickelt sich genau in die Richtung, die ich mir vorgestellt habe.

Very fast growth. Final comparisons of germinating ~10 seeds. Tropicanna Poison on Top Left is 2nd fastest growth so far right behind Apple Cup (Apple Fritter x Banana Butter Cups) by Robin Hood Seeds. Apologies for the floor gap, I ran out of polyfilm and couldn't be bothered to get another large roll for such a small gap.

Feeling pretty under the weather today, not only because i seem to have picked up a head cold..( I've already been tested for covid.. negative..)
Pretty annoyed that no matter how much i interact on this site, try to build friendships that benefit both of us reading each others work.. none will even visit my diary, but what is the point in crying about it.., BUT at the same point, why bother writing.. none reads it lol

First week flower have moved them inside under the marshyrdo had to stuff them in there cause I had so many but I have loollipopped them all to make sure I have good air flow at the base topped a few aswell to compare them to u topped ones will be fun to see what works better

1 OG kush Shows Sings of Nitrogen Toxicity (cut most leafs off)
Soil PH: 5.7 - 6.8 (lowest and highest reading)
Flushed all plants with microrayza fungi
Watering with organic bio activated tea every 3 days (potassium = algae, bokashi = nitrogen, worm hummus and molasses)
Day 28 to 35
Day 32: Accidently cut off main stem of a very healthy OG kush plant, let´s see how it bounces back in a few days. Perhaps I just HST´d by accident
Day: 32: Some of my autoflower GSC already started to flower
Day 32: 3 OG kush plants are weak, one has a weak stem, second one had a problem since seedling (grew into the ground), third one i cut off main stem by accident
Day 34: OG kush plant was removed after many tries of getting it back to its feet

The temperatures, humidity, height, and watering volume(if measured) in grow conditions are all averaged for the week. The pH is soil pH. Any watering done by me is well water which is 7.6 pH and 50° F. Any listed nutrients are ml/gallon of soil spread evenly across the top of the soil.
Day 1 we had high temperatures of 79° and skies were mostly cloudy. The lows at night have begun to drop below 60°F. It has been extremely humid with tons of dew in the morning. I'll continue to defoliate and spray with biofungicide to get this powdery mildew under control.
Day 2 we had early morning rain followed by mostly cloudy skies. High temperature was 77. The rain took care of the watering today. I'm treating with arber again and more defoliation.
Day 3 we had a high temperature of 81°F, skies were partly cloudy, and I watered 3-4 gallons from the hose.
Day 4 we had a high temperature of 83° with sunny skies. I watered 4-5 gallons from the well. I treated with Arber.
Day 5 we had a high temperature of 88°F. Skies were clear and sunny. The humidity was around 90% today. I watered 4-5 gallons from the well. I finally got most of the infected leaves off and have one more plant to do tomorrow. I treated with Arber again today.
Day 6 we had high temperature of 89°F. Skies were sunny. I watered about 4-5 gallons with well water. I've been treating these with Arber biofungicide but it's hasn't had much affect. I stripped all the infected leaves and lollipoped two today. I'll get the third tomorrow. I'll treat these tomorrow with growers ally fungicide and see if they can be saved.
Day 7 we had a high temperature of 86°F with partly cloudy skies. We're expecting rain tonight and it's super humid today. The weather is not cooperating while I'm treating for powdery mildew.
This week was a success. The plants gained on average 6 inches in height. They've slowed down their upward growth and are transitioning into flower. The weather has been atrocious for cannabis. These girls are super healthy but the humidity and cool nights have caused perfect conditions for powdery mildew. I began treatment with Arber biofungicide, but it wasn't doing much. I lollipoped and defolated heavy on two of the plant and finished the third after photos on day 7. The non infected leaves are responding ok to the Arber. I'm switching now and will treat late day 7 with Growers Ally fungicide. I defolated pretty heavy, but I expect a full recovery and increased production as there will be more light penetration.

8 semanas desde el cambio de foto periodo. Ya están casi hechas las plantas, yo creo que una semana mas de abono y luego a lavar raíces, de todas formas sigue comiendo (aunque creo que sobrefertilice). Buen cultivo para tod@s. ✊

2020-06-13 Going heavier on nutrients now, I went too high with my initial amount. After pH, it was a whopping EC=2200!! Too much for these ones. I had to dilute this weeks nutrition down, so I have to estimate the nutrition levels as I had to add water and pH it. I started with a whopping 7.6 mL/Liter but probably ended up with about 6.5 mL/gallonI EC=1800/ now keep calimagic constant at 3.79 mL/gallon to help buffer the solution and keep the solution stable. The additional calimagic has stopped the spread of the rust spots and new leaves are a lighter green and have stopped turning dark! Success.
2020-06-14 Thinking about doing the last topping and LST session this week and then transitioning to bloom. Thoughts on that? I have them on a 'transition feed' right now that is very nutrient dense! Started about 950 ppm for the healthier looking plant. The 2nd plant is still getting slightly less nutrients but the magnesium deficiency hasn't appeared in the newest growth.
Roots are growing crazy amounts every day! You can see that the 2nd bucket plant started making tons of roots out of the side of the bucket again. Nice to see the bounce back once given adequate nutrition. I have reduced expectations for that plant but it was definitely a lesson in how to prepare and interpret feeding schedules AND how your plant is reacting to them.
2020-06-15 Did some light defoliating today, removing a lot of the lower fan leaves and sucker branches/growth tips... Going to veg for the rest of the week and then change both over to flower.

2020-06-20 Day of nutrient change! Took them out of the grow tent while I swapped out the buckets.

Hello growmies! Welcome to week 19 for Queen Citronella, this Super Lemon Haze by Green House Seeds. Planted as a Christmas gift to myself on 25th December 2022 it is now 1st May 2023 and we are on day 128. This it turns out was Citronella's last day living!
The smell, oh god the smell, it's just the best.
I will update the harvest when she has dried. I tend not to bother with wet weights as I don't really see what the point is, but I can tell you there is absolutely more than 500g here for sure. I am expecting 150-200g when dry.
I accidentally dropped one of the smaller branches and it made an extremely satisfying "thud" when it landed.
