Blue Dream'Matic growing strong. Defoliated her this week and she bushed right back out again in a couple of days. Lightly fed some Espoma Organic Grow this week. She seems to be in a friendly competition with the Auto Lemon, they have been battling back and forth to see who's taller. Fight all you want girls, I'll be the winner in the end. šŸ‘

Week 5 of flower and seed production for all these plants has started in earnest. We cleaned up the tent somewhat and took down all the males after having done their job. Alls left is to wait for finish now. The nute deficiency appears to have corrected itself now that we’ve balanced out the ratios a little more. The WPM is no match for the sodium bicarbonate but still gonna have to keep on top of that to the end of the grow. Full fumigation of the grow spaces will be required - multi-day process I am not looking forward to. Time cleaning is time not growing, sadly. We’re coasting to the finish now but should still have some decent updates on our super secret seed harvesting method once they’ve fully maturedšŸ˜‰šŸ‘. Hope everyone’s well and grow’n that straight šŸ”„. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In the event that does take place we’ve got a single clone of each strain from the previous pollen chuck to sit in the tent with them so they can make babies for the next few months. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. If you’ve been following along than you’ll know that it’s been anything but easy. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatoryšŸ˜‚. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. At least not as long as I wasn’t high when using the calculator again….. Many thanks to @MarsHydroLED for the opportunity to test run the equipmentšŸ‘Š. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. The beauty of this system is that it’s literally a 1 (one) component system for the entirety of the plants grow cycle. It really has changed the game in terms of ease of feeding and maintenance. It’s also very versatile and seems to provide everything needed across multiple different strains in the same ratios. Keep your eyes peeled for these folks. Pretty much a guarantee that they absolutely blow up once more people know about themšŸ‘šŸ‘ŒšŸ˜Ž. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. Many thanks to @Exoticseeds for the chance to give these beans a gošŸ‘šŸ‘Š. Pollination Strains: Holy Surfer S1 - this is one of the focal points for this cycle. A fellow growmie was kind enough to ship over some S1 genetics I took an interest in. The only ask back was that if I did cross it to send a few his way for testingšŸ‘. Shoutout and cheers to @blendmedmedman. Hoping to have something back to ya in short order. For full details on this alluring hybrid option check my buddies link at seedfinder - https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Holy_Surfer/Smiling_Tiger/ Northern Lights - this came from a particularly interesting batch of seeds that have shown a very dependable variegation trait. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magicšŸ‘Œ. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire šŸ”„šŸ¤ŸšŸ˜ŽšŸ‘.

Day 43 - 12/12 flip day. Screen already getting unruly so going for the flip. That much green in there, I'll have difficulty working out what to do with it soon so its time for Autumn to hit!!! I know people have all different methods and this and that but just going straight into the 12/12 with the bloom feeds (Samuari has quite a bit of N in it still during bloom phase so should be less of a nute shock). Also trying some mineral water in there....@Ā£1.10 for 5L (50L tank), hopefully less chlorine in there until I get some Ecothrive Neuteralise in there to keep the bennies safe! :) Changed over to the Sylvania Dual Spec HPS so hopefully the blue in there keeps the stretch somewhat limited (again, have saw people use MH for the 1st week or 2 to keep the plants down) but these girls are stumpy...no real vegging height to them and hopefully the screen adds to that. Per seeds description, max height should be 90-100cm so hopefully all stays like that. Now just to keep on top of the tucking and canopy management. Still betwixt and between if I'll lollipop/defoliate as the bottom leaves are a good source of feed (3 weeks still to consider) as I have to add humidity to the tent...it would sit round 35-40 in general under lights so not overly worried about mold environment plus have another fan I can get under the canopy for further air movement. Will add photos later, enjoy the time lapse of last week and happy growing all.

I think there’s been some sort of salt build up / nutrient lock. The lower leaves have been turning a lighter green and some even yellow on SL plants. Most stems are red. Seems like it’s a pH problem. I flushed them with 4-5 litres of water to reduce the nutrient concentration in the roots. Going to introduce molasses in next feeding! Organic Unsulphered And also stop the Micro (nitrogen)

Looking back at recent weeks I realized that I mustve had a weird filter put over my pictures because some spots of most of my pictures are really unnaturally green looking. It kinda angers me but I fixed it, quality of my pictures looks much better now. Picture 1 - Day 36 - Beginning of Week 6 Video 2 - Day 36 - Just a quick vid of how things are looking in the tent rn. The jamaicans are growing good too. Picture 3 - Day 36 - Dwarf 1 looking good, he has stopped stretching now at 70cm. Picture 4 & 5 - Day 36 - Buds on Dwarf 1. Picture 6 - Day 36 - Dwarf 2.1 has weird looking new growth and isnt growing as fast as Dwarf 1, I think he will probably stretch a lot soon since he is in flower now. Picture 7 & 8 - Day 36 - Dwarf 2.1 shooting pistils. Picture 9 - Day 37 - Dwarf 1 going ok. Picture 10 - Day 37 - Trimmed of some of the dying lower leaves of dwarf 1, still contemplating a flush on both the dwarfs. Picture 11 - Day 37 - Dwarf 2.1 also going good. Picture 12 - Day 39 - Dwarf 1 going strong. Will flush at next watering. Picture 13 - Day 39 - Dwarf 2.1 also going good. Picture 14 - Day 40 - Just a quick vid of current setup, started lst on the jamaican pearl that I topped. Picture 15 - Day 40 - Dwarf 1 is developing a lot of buds. Picture 16 - Day 40 - Dwarf 1 buds. Picture 17 - Day 40 - Dwarf 2.1 also developing buds.

Here we go 😊 Planning & germination šŸ‘ IĀ“m really looking forward to this run, the SpectrumX from Medicgrow with build in PPFD, 4 spectrums V1, F1, VS, FS and 880 Watt is definitely serious business šŸ‘Š Trying out a new soil in this grow. The plant mulch is an exclusive mixture of harped mulch, nutrient-rich natural fertiliser, hill sand and long-term matured compost. The mixture provides a porous and airy structure, which ensures that both water and nutrients are easily accessible to the plant's roots. Stay tuned and Keep it green šŸ˜Ž

Well and hmmm, there really is not much to say here as you can see. On the bright side she has a head, sort of, we think. All we can do is smile and hope she pulls herself together by the hairs of happiness that seem to be keeping her alive, it’s quite the reach! We have faith and hopefully there is a better report next week. It may be the name she was given but that is another wonderlands story!

One Bud was moldy where the other plants had no issues. This strain might me a little susceptible to mold. The Terps on this are very nice. Dark Grape with hints of lemon. Very Sticky and not very hard Trichome shells. maybe good for flower rosin or under cold contidions even for Hash Rosin.

How ya doing mates?? Awesome week last week - all photos and logs have been added so be sure to check it out! This week is going great so far! I've switched to an early vegetative state nutrient system. As you'll see in the daily logs early this week, this bumps up the micro and grow nutes, and keeps the bloom at 0.6ml/gal. A quick note about last week - I'm unable to update the measurements, but please note that those nutrient amounts are measured in ml/gal, NOT ml/l. Anyhow, this week I'm just waiting to get my order of diatomaceous earth so that I can make up another batch of soil. I'm still debating between topping this week before repotting or letting them take root in the new pots first. Decisions decisions lol. I think at the very least I'll clean up some of the lower growth to make sure the energy is being spent at the right places. I've been switching back and forth between just LST and mainlining in the past - but I think I really like the ease and cleanliness of mainlining. The draw back is the recovery time they take in the process haha. UPDATE: The D.E. has come in, and I repotted the girls this week. I mixed in about 1.5-2 cups D.E. for the whole pot, as well as some Bat Guano and Kelp Meal for micro and macro nutrients to use on dry cycles. I've also included some photos of the mother plant to give an idea of what's to come! I've just started to flower it, which is the first time for this strain - so I'm pumped! Day 15: M.C. 01-21 After reviewing the last set of photos from last week, I figured I'd play it safe and dimmed the light back down to 25% strength. The mother plant is almost ready for flower, and I'm down some tents so she'll be taking this one over shortly. These photos were taken shortly after the lights went off, and they look quite happy! You can see some of the side branch developement in today's photo for MC-01. The pots are fairly dry now, and I've decided to move to the next stage in the nutrient regime. This kicks up the Micro and Grow nutes, while maintaining the Bloom amounts. M.C. 02-21 A nice top photo for MC-02, you can really see the lighter green in this photo. Not to worry though, as these will darken back to a vibrant green as long as I give her what she needs shortly! The pots are fairly dry now, and I've decided to move to the next stage in the nutrient regime. This kicks up the Micro and Grow nutes, while maintaining the Bloom amounts. M.C. 03-21 Look at that little leaf poking out from the 2nd node! Some slight yellowing you can see too, but again, not to worry. The new mix should rectify that. I've decided to move to the next stage in the nutrient regime. This kicks up the Micro and Grow nutes, while maintaining the Bloom amounts. Day 16: M.C. 01-21 Today is the day - for the mother! I've cleared out some space and moved plants around. So back out to the grow room these girls go! MC-01 seems much better today with the reduction in light. The 5th node is almost flattened out and the 6th coming through still. Most notably though, you can really see the work she's put into the side branches! The branches at nodes 2 and 3 are starting to produce more leaves - great sign! The new growth at the top is also a nice dark green. Added 500ml water to the tray. M.C. 02-21 MC-02 seems to have liked the adjustment of light as well. She's got nice dark green growth at the top, and the little branches at the 2nd node seem to have a full leaf! Added 500ml water to the tray. M.C. 03-21 The photo from today is cool, because you can see how close MC-01 & 03 are, even though there's almost a full node difference. MC-03 is stretch out a bit to compete with her sister for the light haha. She's also put some more effort into the side branches that you can see. Added 500 ml water to the tray. Day 17: M.C. 01-21 I figured a video would be the best way to illustrate the changes today! They've been back in the grow room under the Veg dedicated light for a day now and seem to be loving it! MC-01 has its' 5th node out, splitting the 6th node, and I can JUST see the 7th node coming in. I don't think they'll get too much more height, as you can see that the side branches are starting to stretch now! She's definitely going to be well tangled in the roots by the end of the week when I hope to repot her. M.C. 02-21 MC-02 is doing great despite the difference in height! You'll notice the side branches stretching out at nodes 2 & 3. The pots are also still fairly wet at their center, so I'll hold off on water most likely. At least this clone will have time to root more while we wait for the supplies! M.C. 03-21 MC-03 also has great side branching! If you take a look at the group photo from today, you'll see that both MC-01 & 03 are practically the same height, but MC-03 snuck in there by the stretch haha. Day 18: M.C. 01-21 My order of D.E. came in last night, perfect timing! As you can see, her roots have fully reached the bottom, and have started to migrate upwards with the water that's absorbed. The soil was a little dry for my liking, which made things a little difficult/dusty but still no mishaps! Watered around the root-zone before covering with more soil to keep the gnats down. M.C. 02-21 Not quite as much lateral root growth as MC-01, but still plenty enough for a repotting! Her soil was a little dry as well. Ideally I should have given them a light misting from the top of the soil and let is drip down to keep the dusty bits together haha. M.C. 03-21 Nice and thick root growth, no issues with repotting, and strong stalk. The extra spacing in the nodes may prove to be helpful during the training phase. Day 19: M.C. 01-21 Some nice top shots today as they slowly get acclimated to their new homes. Once I see them push out a new node, I'll probably top them. This is to make sure that they're taking to the new pot without causing any extra stress before they can take it. Today I watered them with an early veg nutrient. I like to stay cautious with nutrient boosts since they're in soil - not to mention the added nutrients from the repotting. M.C. 02-21 Top shots for the girls today. Not much change, but also no immediate signs of shock either, so I'll take it. M.C. 03-21 You can't really see it in this angled shot, but the small branch at the second node is coming along nicely! I think the girls are happy that they each have their own tray not haha. Day 20: M.C. 01-21 Definitely noticing some slow changes to the top nodes when comparing the pictures from the previous day. The leaves are slowly starting to separate, and I'm not noticing too much yellowing yet which is good. Watered with 500ml water to keep water migrating upwards to meet the roots. M.C. 02-21 Not noticing much change in this girl today, but that's okay. She's most likely focusing on the root developement instead which I can't complain about! Watered from the bottom. M.C. 03-21 Maybe seeing some separation in the top leaves, however more notably are the small branches at the 2nd node that you can see better here. Still a bit of stretching with them as they get longer. I might even keep them on for clones later on. Watered from the bottom. Day 21: M.C. 01-21 Looks like she gained some distance last night, as the top node is now above the fan leaves, unlike 2 days ago. I'm really getting eager to top them, as I don't want them to waste too much time and energy growing tissue that I'll just end up cutting off. I'll be bumping the nutrients up starting next week to keep the progress going, moving to a mid-veg stage shortly. I'm going to let things dry up tonight for a fresh boost of water tomorrow to give it a dry cycle as the pot is still a bit heavy. M.C. 02-21 MC-02 really worked hard last night it seems, as she almost completely flatted out her top leaves! I think she's ready for a topping, but I'll let her benefit from the headstart and let the other two catch up and root before. dry cycle for her tonight as well. M.C. 03-21 MC-03 was busy last night too and is now slowly flattening out the top node as well! Maybe tonight they'll have enough progress to go topless afterall haha. Dry cycle in prep for watering tomorrow.
