🌱 Nectar Drip Update Week 8 from Seed · Week 2 Flower (12/12 from seed) Quick recap for anyone joining us now: This run is a 12/12 from seed experiment, meaning each plant chose on its own when to enter flower. Because of that, flower timing is not perfectly synchronized — and that’s an important part of this grow and of the decisions we’re making. We’re working with an exclusive collaborative genetic pack, not commercially available anymore, bred for stability, vigor, and resilience. What you see here is a real-world expression of those genetics, grown without chasing trends or hype — just observation, patience, and consistency. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment & Feeding (Why We Changed Nothing) This week, we deliberately changed nothing. • Day temperature: ~28 °C • Relative Humidity: ~65% • EC: 2.4 • pH: 6.5 • Plant height: ~40 cm to ~80 cm • Lighting: LED Many growers would say these temperatures are “too high for flower,” but context matters. Under LED lighting, leaf surface temperature typically runs 2–4 °C cooler than room temperature. Because of that, we focus on leaf VPD, not room VPD. The plant is what matters — not the number on the wall. We are not chasing numbers. We are paying attention to them. The plants are responding perfectly: • Lush, deep green foliage • No signs of stress • Strong internodal structure • Uniform uptake across different phenotypes When the plant is happy, stability beats adjustment. That’s why the nutrient recipe stayed exactly the same. ⸻ ✂️ Defoliation — Why This Week, Why This Way This week marked an important decision. Normally, defoliation would happen around day 21 of flower. But in a 12/12-from-seed run, there is no universal day 21. Each plant entered flower on its own schedule. The room was getting dense. Airflow was being restricted. Light penetration was becoming uneven. So we listened to the plants — not the calendar. We opened the canopy, improved airflow, and allowed the plants to: • Breathe better • Receive more uniform light • Push growth upward instead of inward We’ll be honest: 👉 We went harder than planned. But it was a conscious decision, not an emotional one. Leaves removed were healthy — not sick — which tells us the plant had energy to spare. The remaining structure is strong, clean, and well-shaped. ⸻ 🛠️ Training & Recovery • Structural branches previously damaged were taped last week • All repaired nodes bounced back perfectly • Plastic clips are still being used dynamically — on and off — to guide shape, not force it This tells us everything we need to know about the genetics: stable, resilient, forgiving, and strong. ⸻ 🔮 What We Expect Next After a hard defoliation, plants tell the truth quickly. What we expect: • Fast rebound • Vertical push toward the light • Strong flower site development • Clean airflow through the canopy If they slow down, we listen. If they explode, we let them run. So far, these girls are behaving like champions. ⸻ ❤️ Final Words & Gratitude To everyone reading this — the supporters, the critics, the silent observers: You all have a place here. Growth doesn’t happen without contrast. Learning doesn’t happen without mistakes. And progress doesn’t happen without conversation. Thank you to: • The platform • The OGs • The new followers • The sponsors • The lovers and the haters We treat everyone the same. Criticism is welcome. Questions are encouraged. With true love comes happiness. Always believe in yourself, and always do things expecting nothing and with an open heart. Be a giver, and the universe will give back in ways you could never imagine. 💚 Growers love to all 💚 📸 P.S. – The Eye Behind the Lens All photos in this diary (for now — except for the ones showing the camera, which I took with an iPhone) are taken with a Sony A6700 paired with a Sony full-frame macro lens and a few more. Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture. I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back. It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal. You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art. As of day 14, the Blackberry Kush is still exhibiting it's abnormal leaf growth. I've only ever seen this on another genetically purple strain, so I am curious if there is a connection. If anyone has seen similar issues in their own plants let me know! It's growth hasn't been too bad, and I am sure it's going to continue to take off over the next week! I usually top my plants between day 14 and 21, so i am hoping it is growing vigorously enough to prevent any stunting. I haven't seen any adverse effects from temporarily switching to my plentiful dry cal-mag, so I am happy about that so far! I am still adding a similar EC worth of Cal mag (.5) so it's good to have dialed in a rough equivalent. I hope everyone is staying safe, and happy growing! 👍🌱 Day 15: the leaf growth continues to be very screwy, and even if it's at least partially a genetic issue I continue to triple check all my practices and parameters. The PH drifts up mildly in my reservoirs between cleaning/remixing of nutrients, but it is going from roughly a 5.8 up to a 6.2 (at worst) with no change in the EC/PPM. Between the lack of EC drift and lack of smell, I don't think there are any major bacterial issues. The outflow PH is also acceptable (5.8) and the outflow EC is around .2-.3 above inflow, which is also acceptable. I dug into the coco a little bit, and the medium is not oversaturated with water (it is always a bit "fluffy" with good drainage and never compacted) and the roots are white and healthy. With the healthy vigorous growth of the other Blackberry in the same conditions, it brings me back to this being at least partially a genetic issue. I looked through grow questions of other diaries for similar leaf issues, and it seemed that most were either blueberry or blackberry strains from a range of breeders. This could be purely a coincidence, but it does make me wonder. The grows with similar issues seemed to otherwise have no commonalities in how they were grown. I am going to keep trying my best with this plant regardless, so I hope it pulls through alright! Day 17: being very careful with my PH and keeping it a bit lower, to rule it out as a possible cause of the twisted leaves and less vigorous growth. I am keeping it between 5.5 and 6 for the time being to make sure there is no lock out of micro elements like boron. As per the comments, I am being more accurate be using a pH pen as opposed to drops which I may have misjudges. I topped the plant, which is definitely a risk! But I am hoping for some healthier leaves to come in, and the plant hasn't stunted so far! It has grown the number of nodes it should have for its age, it just not as filled in and lush as I would like it to be. Day 19: I have been monitoring PH especially carefully, taking a few measurements per day and keeping it between 5.6 and 5.8 (a little on the low side). The runoff is consistently under 6 as well. EC and other conditions have stayed where they should be as well. I reduced any PH drift by running the air pump for the res 24/7, instead of just for mixing and before fertigations to rule that out. But I haven't seen any overall improvements for the leaves so I am reverting back to my theory of a genetic issue with this particular plant. It's growing larger and it's stems are thickening, so I'm just going to keep it growing as well as I possibly can and see what it yields!

Since this diary started in the middle of Week 4 of flower, many of the details about how we got to that point have remained a mystery. In previous updates I mentioned how my last attempt at growing this cut resulted in a plant that outgrew my space. I had a long veg time and used a 5 gallon pot. That information allowed me to exercise caution on this grow because I knew how big this plant can get when given an opportunity. With that in mind, I only gave her 9 days after transplant from the aerocloner before moving her to the flower tent. My pervious experience dictated that this plant exhibits significant lateral branching. I top most of my plants to encourage this kind of growth, but due to the short veg time and for the sake of experimentation, I decided to not top her this time. You can see that this has resulted in a large main stem cola, but also (thanks to knowing her growth pattern) several rather large secondary colas as well. As an aside, some may look at this and wonder "yeah, but what about the yield?" I have never weighed a harvest. I grow for myself only, therefore yield is not something I concern myself with. I just don't care. I fill one quart mason jar and the rest is given away or turned into hash. My scheduling is such that I harvest approximately one plant a month; therefore I have enough smoke to last a VERY long time. While this plant will probably go 12+ weeks, with only 9 days of veg, it’s still comparable to a 10 week variety that would require a longer veg time to produce a similar yield. And, frankly, I have close to a dozen cultivars in my ‘consumable’ collection and this is the only one I reach for prior to 9 pm. She has a very clear and motivational high. Not overpowering, but I never test her ceiling, so she could get one blasted if necessary. This would also be a great plant for someone having trouble eating, because my appetite is essentially limitless when I’m smoking this. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that I have put on a few lbs since I’ve had her in my collection?

Hello fellow grower Week 4 development under the Mars Hydro FC6500. The growth rate is spectacular, all the plants are showing some Nitrogen deficiencies. The roots have totally filled up the 1.8l pots. This is impressive. _________________________________________________ Barney’s genetics under the perfect type of light is marvelous. Hopefully all their strains are extremely resilient and will forgive wrong moves to recover quickly. _________________________________________________ Cellmax BIO RootBooster have blasted the roots development, and filled up the pots in less than 2 weeks. _________________________________________________ 18/09 Water + BIO RootBooster 4ml/1l + AllZymes 1ml/1l pH 6.5

So this was quite the week...I was looking over our set up, and making sure Grandma has everything she needs when she says "it seems to me that we need a vegetation cabinet." Turns out she had all the supplies too. Cracked me up...so I ended up building a nice little veg / drying cabinet. You'll see it in the second Meph run diary, was too busy to get some shots today. 😅 She doubled in size from last week, super happy with the progress. She's under a combo of flouro and LED in the new cabinet and LOVING it. Started ramping in nutrients slow and steady, keeping the c02 around 600-800ppm while I finish up the environmental control in the new cabinet. I realized that Mephy, might be a flight risk...so I made her a pen. 😂 ...also removed any confusion on her breed. Yeah, I nerded out a little. #prusagang #piggydankfarms Hope everyone had a great week, and all the competition ladies are stellar! Until next week...time to go play on the farm. ✌️🌱

Week six! Day 37 - Photographed and fertigated 5l each Day 39 - Photographed. These plants have realised they have space and are starting to stretch out. Day 42 - Now that I have internet I can start uploading videos. Thanks Elon! These girls are stretching for the light, which is probably because of the mylar sheeting. However to remain stealth, this is necessary. If you don't already follow me on X, please join me over there, where you will find a bustling cannabis community. Thanks to Super Sativa Seed Club and the Passion of the Dutch for the beans!

I'm thinking this is going to be my final week of veg, I'll be switching to hps 12/12 for flower, looking forward to seeing these girls bud up. 5/29 Switched my bulb from MH to HPS, to let the ladies adjust by the end of the week. Starting next week, that'll be on a 12/12 schedule for sure.

These are the tallest and densest in the tent but there is little to no smell yet to them. Trichome production is very good for the stage so hopefully they develop a nose in the next couple of weeks. I’d hate to end up with rock hard frosty OG Kush buds with no smell 😀

Just starting week 5 will keep updating as I go been having a couple issues lately with some of the top fan leaves, they've been starting to get a couple brown spots on 3-4 of the fan leaves not sure what the problem is yet if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Update: Just ordered in a new ph meter from Apera I'm pretty sure my cheap $15 dollar ph meter was all sorts of messed up. UPDATE: ec going in .7 runoff ec .86, ph going in 5.7 runoff ph 6.6 I'll see if the ph goes down now that I have the new ph meter my old one was definitely off. UPDATE: Got the EC down to .4 gonna start slowly introducing nutrients back in, also got the medium pH down to 6.1 from 6.6. Finishing up week 5 think I've gotten things under control now just need to get my EC back up now showing a couple signs up deficiencies on some leaves but nothing too bad, I'm thinking Week 6 will start flower. Did a Flush this Week now looking back on it I shouldn't have done that that caused my plant to go into a deficiency, what I should've done was not flush with half strength nutes I should've used normal strength nutes but just lower the ph more that was the real problem.
