This week compromised of vertical growth (still) and development of the bud sites. Pistils are in full production, and buds at the nodes have doubled in size this week! The girls are drinking steadily from 10L to 13L daily by the end of the week. Defoliation continues on a seems-to-be weekly basis.

Been tying these girls down over the week. Trying to spread them out more. They are looking healthy at least. No issues. No fungus gnats or any critters at all. Happy with it right now

day 85. Sorry haven't posted in a while. Things are ok, still defoliated here and there, removed some lower branches from all about a week ago. Bridal party was having some kind of P or K issue, like medium is too hot or some type of minor lockout, or ph issue. I have used BlueSky organics compost tea amendments,and just threw it in a 5 gal bucket of water without a compost tea bag, when the 5 gal is empty I just refill with still the amendments in the bottom breaking down, along with bluesky organics organic booster.

Ok, lets think about this logically - why are the leaves turning brown? it looks like a Calcium/Phosphorus issue, A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS , is it a deficiency??? Unlikely in Hydro as the solution is more effective as there are no contaminants, so this leads me to believe its a lockout, what can cause this ? 2 things = A) Too Much Nutrient Potassium or B) ph is too low - SO to rectify this, i have added more water to the reservoir and raised the ph to 6.3 As i am using more water in the reservoir its entirely possible that when the water goes down,even though the EC stays the same the proportional concentrations of each nutrient can change - for example EC pen says 2.0 when i first fill with 20 litres, the plant drinks 4 litres of water and consumes lots of bloom A+B so when i put my pen in two days later the 16 litres of solution still reads 2.0 but there is a higher proportion of PK. Of course it could always be option C) these plants eat phosphorus for breakfast and need more ..😜 I have checked roots they all ok Wednesday- changed solution , made it slightly weaker EC 1.7 ph 6.2-3 Thursday I had a little chat on Instagram with mammoth , i think they might need less than usual Saturday - noticed some yellowing on the little plant , it’s a confusing as th3 other plants are all using the same nutrients and they are loving life , it might be the buckets , I am much preferring the size of the 35 litre ones , and the root structure is perfect , because the 45 litre boxes are more rectangular than square the roots are sort of sideways . Still waiting for some purple on the tall one 🤔 ITS VERY IMPORTANT IN DWC - Do not automatically think you need to add nutrients , in DWC it’s so much more efficient that less is more , 99% of the time it’s overdone it , normally the tips go brown first , but it’s some circumstance s The concentration can increase without you knowing , FIRST change solution with a little bit less , I usually go to 1.6-1.7 EC TOTAL and 6.3 ph that is a universal solution that provides enough without overdoing it . Let’s Go day 29!! This week went real nice ! Girls are staying very healthy and building up nicely and even started showing signs of female sex which is super great ! We started doing a little bit of leaf tuck training method on em , nothing to big as like I said I want these girls just to do there thang an grow more on naturally side! My Air temp and Humidity have been on point all week, staying from 70-75 degrees throughout the day and humidity staying around 58-61% humidity , my girls are loving that summer an 75 feeling !! Seems to be going well. Short and tight plant.

During the initial two weeks of growth, Bad Guy by UKHTA Genetics encountered suboptimal conditions marked by low humidity. This environment took a toll, causing some leaves to exhibit signs of dehydration, notably curling and drying at the edges and base. Despite these challenges, the strain showcased its resilience, pushing forward with steady growth. Regular monitoring and adjustments are crucial to ensure Bad Guy's health and maximize its potential as it navigates these less-than-ideal conditions.

Last week of nutes before 2 week flush. buds have bulked out Nicely had to turn the fan speeds up so the humidity didn’t rise to high overnight. No signs of mold. Whiping tents with antiseptic whipes once and week and vacuuming round tent every few days.

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. D16 - I think I had the light a little to close, I see some yellow tips forming on the new set of leaves. I raised it a couple of inches. D17 - Girls are coming along great, I'm thinking of using bonsai wire to train. D18 - Saw some brown spots on #2. D19 - Brown spots on #2 got a bit worse with slight yellowing leaves. D20 - Figured out the brown spots has to be calcium deficiency. Added some NPK cal/mag to #2. Also, I am having a lot of fun using the bonsai wire to LST.
