Hoping to see lots of bud densing this coming week. The smell of the terps this morning was crazy. A bit over 3 more weeks, I can't wait. Day 44 update: Leaf yellowing has definitely been slowed, and senescence of lower yellowed leaves has also seemed to stop. Some leaves that continue to be of concern are particularly those accumulating anthocyanins, likely due to my low night time temps. I think they are doing very well, with some very minor problems. This cycle is in the winter for me, so the humidity and temps has been low, but I am happy to not have had to deal with pests or mold like in previous cycles. Day 45 update: broke out the loop today to inspect the trichs, still looking very immature, as expected given there is still a few weeks left until the planned harvest date. Today I watered in a 1/4dose of Buildabloom, some quillaja, pineapple fpj, and some rootwise enzyme elixer.

Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of flowering. I got my 2 long and narrow paper bags out. The ones the french bread are in at the store. The ones with the long plastic window in them. I went to the male plant, that I have in a different greenhouse, and got some of the open flowers and pollen inside the paper bags. This is a good male. It has lots of flowers, not many leaves, is not too tall, and is good smelling with the "rub the stem and smell your fingers" test. And the smell stays on my fingers for a few minutes, not disappearing in a few seconds. Careful not to dump out the pollen I slid the bag over the buds I pick out. I pinched the bag around the branch and held it with a clothes peg. I gently shoock the bag to get the pollen to each flower pistil. When I closed up for the night I shoock up the bag again. I gently took the bags off the next morning, careful not to spray pollen all over the place, then went a got some more pollen for the next plants. and repeated for all 6 plants. Got some yellowing of some of the older leaves. This is sort of self pruning to me, but I will add some extra nitrogen next time to slow the yellowing. 8/7 Plants were still heavy this morning. Temperatures have been much milder. 70's is much better than 90's. I had to water twice a day for a while. I defoliated ahind found some heat stress ob the gmo canary on the end with some twisted leaves. Some leaves are turning purple on an event horizon and gmo. Night Temps are much cooler plus its probably a pheno thing. I defoliated everything dead yesterday. Found lacewind eggs. Saw an adult green lace wing this morning in the garden along with a couple more lady bugs. There were also some lady bug larvae so I hope the go right to town. It's getting cooler so if I'm going to poorly I need to do it. Sherb pie plant seems to he the pillars favorite. I've killed a few of them. Still need to fix supports and do a little more defoliation. I have a video too but it's too slow to upload now. End of week 12, looking good. Stay tuned. So far so good. Water lines getting clogged a little with roots but I put together a little work arround using the water level indicaters I built into the system. (see picture) They are kind of on auto pilot. At this point in the grow I have learned how this particular batch likes things. For example 1.63 is the optimum EC currently. By monitoring how much the EC increases/decreases vs water level I can tell if they can handle the food level, and adjust accordingly, before they burn. I keep them right at the border of too much nutes. If you look you can see all the tips are just barely burnt. I ride the line. I'll update again on Sunday with some fun stuff.

After 11 weeks, I harvested the plants in two stages. It went faster than I thought, and the yields are impressive. The yields are much better for the four plants that I was able to keep shorter in height. They developed more dense, firm buds than the taller four plants, which is why I harvested them a few days later. I only watered with water during the last week and lowered the light to 600-700 ppfd. I'm drying now at 20 degrees Celsius and 55-60% relative humidity until the first stems snap, then the herb goes into hygrometer jars for curing. This time I trimmed wet because there were some really thick branches, and I didn't want to risk mold. All in all, it looks like a good harvest. I misjudged the height with this strain. I thought I could keep the plants relatively short by using topping and LST (low-stress training). This only worked for half of them. One of the plants was about 3 cm below the light, which is really suboptimal because I have no space above. I might have chosen a smaller pot size and swapped the plants' positions more often. I was also a bit too cautious with defoliation and pruning, but this was planned as an experiment to grow bushier plants, which didn't make me as happy in my application. Due to the high CO2 content, the cannabis grows exceptionally bushy and leafy. It requires regular pruning. The buds themselves have turned out really well. They are nice and firm, some quite large, and covered with many trichomes. The smell of the strain is less intense than I thought but still very pleasant.
