This week was definitely the most stressful one so far.😅 Candy Hustle #1 showed a few hermaphrodite flowers early in the week. Instead of removing the entire plant immediately, I decided to inspect her thoroughly every single day and carefully remove every pollen sac I could find. It was a lot of work throughout the week, but fortunately the effort seems to have paid off. 💪 Since then I haven't found any new sacs, although she will remain under close observation. If she starts producing them again, I'm fully prepared to remove the plant. 👀 The funny thing is that this same plant has become the most interesting phenotype in the tent. 🌱 The main cola is developing much wider than her sister and is showing some unusual growth that almost resembles a polyploid or fasciated expression. It's too early to know if that's really the case, but she definitely stands out from the rest. 🤞 Candy Hustle #2 continues to perform exactly as expected. Healthy growth, great structure and absolutely no signs of stress. 💚 Because the heatwave is still affecting the climate, temperatures stayed around 28°C with 55% RH, which is much easier to manage than the previous week. Light intensity has now been increased to roughly 1000 PPFD (60% power) and both plants are responding very well. ☀️ Both Candy Hustles were lollipopped this week to improve airflow through the canopy. 🍃 I also removed a few additional lower branches on #1 while inspecting for pollen sacs. Air circulation is much better now, which gives me a bit more confidence considering the higher temperatures. Feeding was kept simple this week: 💧 1× Bio PK 🚰 RO water + CalMag every 2–3 days Another thing I noticed is how quickly the resin production has increased. ✨ Even at only week three the sugar leaves are already becoming noticeably frosty, especially on Candy Hustle #1. Day 49 update (Sunday 7/14/19): Almost time to chop! I think my humidity is finally going to be manageable for the drying- the second dehumidifier helped enough it seems. I cut out the base nutes (which for a few days were at quarter strength). I decided to stop with sugaree. No more cal/mag - I guess I should have cut that out weeks ago even in coco? So many different trains of thought. So I’ve now been flushing for a couple days using only water and canna boost and cannazyme along with mammoth p and hydroguard (ppm is at 200). I’m not PH correcting the reservoir tank and it’s up to 6.9/7.0 ph (I actually added a tiny bit of ph down before I decided to not worry about it) - I’m not sure if I like this strategy (seems to be an unsettled debate about ph correcting during final flush) I’ll switch to FloraKleen and water only (and still not ph corrected) for the last few days (in a few days or so - maybe a bit longer) THOUGHTS ANYONE?? I went to bed last night looking at pictures of bud rot and when I woke up I was convinced I had some. I actually chopped my first bud off the plants! one of my possible mold suspects (and one of the largest). Manhandled it - dug around - (I did use gloves and I did sorta try to be careful but...) I probably lost and damaged a bazillion trichomes - but.... it’s fine! No mold/bud rot at all. Beautiful actually. Some of the little fan leaves just turned prematurely yellow awhile ago and some extra areas of red hairs that concerned me but It’s great! Super stinky. Super nice. Dense. Pretty. I’m hanging that one nice big bud in the flower tent above the lights and in the corner away from a direct fan breeze (this is not at all ideal - the main harvest will be done in darkness; with no other humid plants in the tent; with proper air flow; lower temps; and they’ll have had a full flush unlike this nice cola I chopped with its “partial” flush only (see above) . It’ll be nice to experiment with taste before and after a flush since there seems to be so much debate about this. But I suppose my dry will differ too so not a very controlled test. This bud seems to be plenty mature and ripened - some amber trichomes - so I think this one bud chop may turn out to be a nice experiment caused by my neurosis about non existent bud rot) Woot.

Week 3 - doing very well! Moved the plants to an attic room in my house and positioned them under a sky light - seem to be thriving now. I taped some tinfoil around the plants to maximise sunlight. Vegetation looks healthy and I have been watering sporadically when needed. No signs of any problems or stress, fingers crossed! Thinking about repotting them into their final, larger containers soon. Nothing added in terms of nutrients or anything like that! So far, so good. Let's hope they stay on track.

So I have spider mites. I screwed up so much i think this is going 15 weeks. Lost coast to the rescue! time to finish these buggers off

Welcome to Week 8 of flower...... The plants have developed a more sour lemon scent. Which is pretty lovely to the nose. Both plants have really nice dense thick buds. Plant 1 is starting to show signs of fall colours. She has always had are lime green colour to her upper leaves. Now a beautiful red colour is appearing on the edges of leaves. Plant 2 the main colas have become so heavy that they are all leaning over. I've started introducing a bit of drought stress. Holding back between waterings. I'm hoping by doing this it will help to kick the girls into overdrive and start using stored sugars. It's seems to be working on plant 1 as the leaves are starting to yellow.

July 25: she has recovered nicely from the hail storm teo weeks ago. Force flowering in garage at 9 pm, a few seconds of 730 nm far red light and then out of garage at 7 am. Works for me but adjust as needed for your latitude. July 26: watered with lazy compost tea this morning. Looking good. July 30: top dressed with malted barley, soil and compost amended with gypsum, Epsom salts, and dolomite as cal-mag sources.

weather is great, almost too hot and dry for this season. The outdoor plant is absolutely taking off. Indoor plant is just waiting to be transplanted which i will do soon.

Update : week 4 for the Amnesia haze has been interesting. Sadly her 5th node snapped clean off during her lst so she is now an official quadline. She has settled into the pot so well now and has done a nice bit of growing the past few days. I am happy with her look and health. She should be a good finish too. The Sweet Afgani Delicious is happier now she is in the NFT tank along with the Red hot cookie. They look so lost compared to the Amnesia in her big pot and a few weeks older. They have perked up and started to show more chlorophyll over the past few days too. I think a week will give me a chance at some lst with the smaller girls. Be safe Growmies

July 19: first night of force flowering last night. Plants in dark garage at 9:30 pm and out again at 7:30 am for 10 h darkness. Also using 730 nm far red light at transition to dark which puts the plant into dark mode two hours faster so it’s like getting a 26 h day with 12 h of darkness. Force flowering for 2-3 weeks to make a solid transition into flowering and to get the buds ripening under the stronger summer sun. July 22: Foliar spray with Epsom salts and potassium silicate this morning. The magnesium in the Epsom salts seems to help with yellowing on the new growth. July 23: added another loose Scrog net layer. Tied to water bottles to open up the canopy to sunlight. July 25: watering yesterday included some water leftover over from steaming beets for dinner. That likely contained lots of N because beets are high in nitrate and the plants are very green this morning.

Day 22 - Hit the girls with their first substantial set of nutes. Day 23 - It’s a girl!!!! First appearance of calyx and pistils. Biggest day of growth since day 1. Just barely starting to see nutes at the leaf tip… running at full capacity! Day 25 - watered 3/4 gal; filtered ph’d tap 6.5 ph

She's a healthy lady. No issues this week. I did switch up the lighting this week.

Bang bang!

I think I'm about a week away from harvesting #1. There are a few amber trichomes on the buds (there are more on the sugar leaves) but the smell I'm looking for isn't there and many of the pistils are still white. I have just been giving it plain tap water with no nutrients for the last few weeks.

Cropped Thursday evening, 3/4 days before necessary for complete maturation. Better to lose 2 ounces of weed now than having the plant destroyed by the storm later on. Yeld is below the expectations. Wet weight after 1 day fro crop (buds cleared of leaves) 2.91 lbs (1320 grams). This is caused partially by my pheno (pheno #1 sativa-like, low yield and high THC) and by some mistakes I've done: 1- position in the garden (too close to the sisters) 2- I haven't considered the change in the sun's trajectory and inclination from August onwards. 3- too much LTS (but I was obliged to keep plants short and bushy) 4- underwater (this is my fault, I always tend to keep plants on the verge of thirst. I dug up the roots and the plant actually needed a lot more water). Now she's gone I'm more relaxed and concerned on Special Kush #1, the next week crop and Pineapple Kush the October harvest. Without Royal Gorilla the smell around the home is reduced by 70%. Dry trimming. All buds have been washed before drying and will be dryed very very slowly in a strictly controlled environment. I love the strain and my first autoflower did not disappoint. She grew surprisingly bushy, and she really got chunky near the end! Super happy with how she turned out. The extra couple weeks really made a difference and she smells like fruity pebbles. Delicious! Hanging for 5-7 days before stored for curing. Did final trim and storage for the buds, 50 gram dry weight total. They were more on the lighter side as far as density goes. But smell good and the high is great and was fun to grow! Was able to successfully breed her with a Durban Poison male and look forward to seeing the super sativa babies to come. All good things. Here is to the next round, cheers! 😎
