Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. I've seriously tough the Super Skunks will be ready first, but Vanilla Kush has shown milky tric's after 52 days of Blooming, waiting for some few ambers tric's before starting the Flush.

Tenth week of flowering started. I went out a week and at my return I discovered that the #2 is sick. The plant doesn't drink anymore and a lot of branches are falling down with limp leaves. I think that the missing defoliation, the height and the poor ventilation caused that. At the moment I removed her from the tent moving her out to the balcony. I did a huge defoliation to the #1 and a massive LST in order to low the height of buds that reached the lamp that is at its maximum height. So far I gave to the plant only water. I think that the cause of plant disease is the high humidity level (at least 90%...). Tomorrow I will buy a dehumidifier hoping that this will help the remaining plant. D63: changed the water into the pot. Added 15 ml grow, 30ml micro and 40ml bloom. pH@5.5 EC 1.2 D64: after the defoliation the plant seems to be healthy. The humidity into the tent is still high, tomorrow I will install the dehumidifier. D65: I've put a dehumidifier into the tent, I've added 3 liters of tap water to the pot; the plant is drinking a lot so I think that she is fine. The plants produces a lot of fat buds, so I've checked the trichomes for the first time, they are clear for the majority. D67: added 5 liters of tap water to the pot. The plant is drinking a lot

Day29: New sets of leaves. I'll repot and switch to proper Veg Lights on the weekend. Day30: I'll repot tomorrow. Day31: Repotting done. She had a crazy amount of roots in the seedling pot. MUCH more than I expected. I switched to Veg lights at 90% power. Day32: Settling in new pot Day33 & 34: I had to perform some maintenance on the tent. Lost some hours due to that. Day35: Growth really looking healthy. Although she's not really stretching high, she does look rather happy. I do like them thicc ;) General: I need to put the camera somewhere else so that the growth can be better seen. Right at the end I'll edit out the white flashes. They're caused by the humidifier running and will be really easy to cut out without losing the gist of the grow :)

On day 1 the reservoirs PH is 6.3. The rez is 483 ppm. The girls are looking good and nitrogen toxicity seems to have stopped. On day 2 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.1 to 6.3. The rez is 477 ppm. Trichomes seem to be 10% cloudy so I still have a bit to go i'm thinking 9 weeks should be a good bet! On day 3 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.4 to 6.1. The rez is 500 ppm. On day 4 the reservoirs PH is 6.2. The rez is 503 ppm. I lowered the ppfd so my tallest received 900 ppfd and an average of 543 ppfd. On day 5 the reservoirs PH is 6.2. The rez is 519 ppm. I removed some of the extra fan leaves blocking bud sites. On day 6 I changed out the reservoir with only tap water and adjusted the PH from 6.7 to 6.1 with a ppm of 249. The trichomes are maturing and I plan on harvesting on week 8 day 4 of flower. On day 7 the reservoirs PH was adjusted from 6.5 to 6.0. The rez ppm is 250.

It's raining cats and dogs here (lucky there's no chinese around LMFAO) and the humidity is 100% so today Ive chopped this little lady down and she is now drying up in my shed with fans going 24/7. I was quite pleased with the amount of bud I got off her and it's smelling fantastic and is very sticky.The trichomes were very milky with a few amber as well. 😍 very easy to grow no fuss and no problems but we'll have to wait and see as to whether she is a good smoke or not . d39 ya no me caben dentro del Indoor, debajo del foco pequeño que tengo. Todavía se espera lluvia para la semana que viene, pero no caben y temo que alguna se ponga a florar por estrés, entonces las sacaré al exterior y las aclimataré. d40 Las he sacado a exterior , no les da mucho el sol, están a media sobra, esperemos que no se pongan a florar debido al cambio de fotoperiodo, son menos horas que en el Indoor, podía pasar, lo bueno es que las hemos sacado y ahora cada día están aumentando las horas de luz, mas o menos cada día tenemos 2 minutos más de sol, uno por la mañana y otro por la noche, amanece antes y se va más tarde poco a poco, si se adaptan bien, van a crecer mucho, pero si se ponen a floración veremos que hacemos, esperemos que no pase. Se le han puesto unas piedras para que se aguante la maceta, es de 2LT y con que haga viento la maceta se va al suelo y no queremos que pase eso. También se ha quitado el primer par de nodos LBP(Lower Branch Pruning), que normalmente salen ramas que no llegan a ser gran cosa. Se han quemado del sol, se ve que les da directo y no lo han soportado y se han secado, la tierra esta bastante seca al igual que muchas hojas, por suerte me he dado cuenta al cabo de unas horas, no esperaba que el sol ya pegase tan fuerte, las he cambiado de sitio y se han puesto donde no da el sol directo en ningún momento del día y están solamente a la sombra. Se han regado con un poquito de agua para que se recuperen, les he puesto una maceta más grande por fuera para que si diese el sol, que no le de a la maceta de dentro(2L) que es más pequeña y se calientan las raíces. d42 Se han regado y añadido aminoácidos(más Pro XXL 42% Aminoácidos) ya que eso ayudará a que la planta se recupere, por la tarde-noche les da el sol, no hay otro sitio que le de menos el sol directo, se han secado un pelín más la hojas, pero los brotes nuevos están blanditos y parece que las plantas seguirán creciendo bien.

Changed to 12-12 a week ago and she’s into the stretch fully , I’ll need to defol and remove some lower branches and tie it down some more next week . Very stable genetics handling hot temps in her stride . You can already taste the orange when chewing on the leaves , can’t wait for this one to be getting smoked

This girl got a bit of a feed this week but it looks like she is wanting more of something. Her fan leafs definitely perked up started praying to the light. She will get only 1 more feed of remo nutrients before I just give ph water to finish.

She's looking very very healthy and still trying to give her a perfect shape before I hit flower or before I changed the light cycle if you would. So let's see how this lady performs!

Week is going super well, did notice trichomes are starting to develop more in the coming weeks. Still struggling with watering mainly because i have 3 different strains and i dont know the flow yet. Watering schedule is thrice a week, I nutrient feed on sundays, water on wednesday and compost tea on fridays 500ml each pot. Will be monitoring the trichomes hereafter, today is day 90 from germination, super happy with the results no stunted growth or slow growth. Will set my harvest day between day 120-150. I am targetting longer harvest time for the purple punch because they didnt fight for the light and bullied by 2 monstrous sativas. Since it is indica dominant, i am going to chop them once i see 70% amber
