π 8Γ8 Adventure β Cash Express by Zamnesia | Pheno B | Harvest β Part 1 πΈπ
π The Compact Beast Has Arrived at Harvest β Dense Flowers, Beautiful Frost, and a Story Worth Celebrating! βοΈπΈ
Welcome back to another chapter of the 8Γ8 Adventure, my friends! π±π
Wellβ¦
Here we are again!
Harvest time for another beautiful girl from the Cash Express family! ππΈβοΈ
And before we get started, I owe everyone a little explanation.
ππ
Just like with her sister, we're dividing this harvest into two parts.
Why?
Because we have a ridiculous number of photographs to share, and I don't want to squeeze everything into one report and lose the details that make this journey worth documenting.
ππΈ
With the current GrowDiaries photo limit of 30 images for the final report, including the trimming photographs and the smoke review, we have to get a little creative with how we organize everything.
And if you've been following me for a while, you already know that asking me to reduce the number of photographs is almost like asking me not to take photographs in the first place.
πππΈ
There's the harvest itself.
There's the studio session.
There's the macro photography.
There's the drying stage.
There's the trimming.
And, of course, there's the final review that we'll share when we're ready.
That's simply too much to squeeze into one update without sacrificing parts of the story.
So we're splitting the reports.
π Part 1 β Harvest, Drying, and the First Post-Harvest Photographs.
βοΈ Part 2 β The Next Stage of the Post-Harvest Journey, Trimming Details, and the Smoke Review when everything is ready.
Thank you for bearing with us, everyone!
I know some of the explanations will sound familiar if you've just visited Pheno A's report. That's intentional. Each phenotype has her own diary, and not everyone reads every report in order.
We want every update to make sense on its own.
And now that we've explained the little bit of GrowDiaries gymnastics we're doingβ¦
LET'S TALK ABOUT THIS GIRL!
Because Cash Express Pheno B deserves a proper celebration.
ππΈβοΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π± A QUICK RECAP β HOW DID WE GET HERE?
For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, welcome to the 8Γ8 Adventure!
This project follows twelve individual plants sharing the same general growing environment, allowing us to document their different genetic expressions and individual development.
The concept is simple.
Same room.
Same general environment.
Same lighting ecosystem.
Same overall nutritional approach.
Same 12/12 schedule.
Different plants.
Different structures.
Different personalities.
And sometimes, completely different stories.
π±π
One important detail about this run is that we used the 12/12-from-seed technique.
Rather than beginning with a separate vegetative lighting schedule, the plants were kept under a 12-hours-on, 12-hours-off light cycle from the beginning.
We documented their development from germination and the early growth stages, through the transition into flowering, and all the way to harvest.
Week after week, we observed the plants as they developed under the shared conditions.
Some grew taller.
Some remained compact.
Some moved faster.
Others took their time.
And that's exactly what makes this experiment so interesting.
The plants share the same room, but they don't become identical plants simply because they're growing beside each other.
Their genetics and individual development contribute to the differences we observe.
Cash Express Pheno B is a beautiful example of that.
She's a compact plant, but don't let her size fool you.
She has developed dense, substantial flowers, a beautiful structure, and plenty of character.
And now, after following her through the flowering weeks, we've reached harvest.
ππΈπ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π CASH EXPRESS PHENO B β SMALLER PLANT, BIG PERSONALITY!
My friendsβ¦
LOOK AT THIS GIRL!
ππΈπ
She's not the tallest plant in the room.
She's not trying to stretch herself into the ceiling.
She's not competing for the award for the biggest plant in the tent.
And honestly?
She doesn't need to.
Because what she lacks in overall size, she makes up for with her own beautiful expression.
Compact.
Dense.
Beautifully structured.
And absolutely worth the attention.
πβοΈ
I love plants like this because they remind us that height alone doesn't tell the whole story.
You can look at a plant and immediately notice how tall she is.
But then you look closer at the flowers.
You start paying attention to their structure, their density, their appearance, and all those little details that make each plant unique.
And suddenly, the measurement on the side of the diary becomes only one small part of the picture.
Cash Express Pheno B has her own presence.
She has her own character.
And she has given us some beautiful flowers to photograph.
She's compact, she's dense, she's beautiful, and she's earned every bit of this spotlight.
πππΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
πΈ DENSE FLOWERS β LET'S GET CLOSER!
One of the things I really wanted to show in this report is the structure of her flowers.
Because the closer we look, the more we can appreciate the details.
The overall flower shape.
The individual structures.
The colours.
The resin-covered surfaces.
And the little details that become much more obvious when we bring the macro lens into the picture.
π¬πΈβοΈ
That's why I enjoy taking photographs at different scales.
The wider photographs give us a sense of the plant as a whole.
The closer photographs let us appreciate individual flowers.
And the macro photographs take us into a completely different world.
You can spend weeks looking at a plant and still discover something new when you change the angle, adjust the focus, or simply take the time to look more carefully.
That's what I love about this part of the adventure.
We aren't just showing you a plant at harvest.
We're preserving the details of the plant we've spent all these weeks following.
And Cash Express Pheno B has given us plenty worth preserving.
ππΈπΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π¬ THE MACRO WORLD β EVERY LITTLE DETAIL COUNTS!
And now we get to one of my favourite parts.
The macro photographs!
ππ¬π
If you've been following my diaries, you already know that once I start looking through the macro lens, things can get a little out of hand.
One photograph becomes another.
Another angle becomes another stack.
And suddenly, I've spent far longer photographing one flower than I originally intended.
ππΈ
But honestly, that's part of the fun.
The macro photographs let us appreciate details that are easy to miss when looking at the whole plant.
The trichomes.
The flower surfaces.
The colours.
The tiny structures that give each flower its own visual character.
And when you look closely at Cash Express Pheno B, you can see why I wanted to dedicate a proper report to her.
She's a beautiful compact plant with dense flowers, and the closer we look, the more there is to appreciate.
I could keep photographing her all day.
Unfortunately, GrowDiaries has that little 30-photo ruleβ¦
ππΈ
So we'll have to save some of the adventure for the next report!
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π NO BUD ROT β A DIFFERENT STORY FROM HER SISTER
There's one important difference between the two Cash Express phenotypes that deserves its own mention.
Her sister, Pheno A, experienced bud rot affecting her main cola earlier in the run.
It was an unfortunate setback, but we caught it in time, removed the affected flower, and no other colas were affected by that incident.
Pheno B, however, made it through her run without us encountering that problem.
And I'm very happy about that.
ππΈ
Every grow is a journey, and we can't assume that two plants sharing the same cultivar will necessarily experience identical outcomes.
Pheno A had her difficult moment.
Pheno B has had a different experience.
We document both honestly.
We don't need to compare them as if one plant's journey makes the other less valuable.
Both are beautiful individual plants.
Both have taught us something.
And both deserve their own reports.
For Pheno B, I'm especially pleased that we can celebrate the harvest without having to document the removal of an affected main cola.
We can focus on her compact structure, her dense flowers, her macro details, and the next stage of her journey.
That's a beautiful thing to celebrate.
πβ¨
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
πΏ SAME ROOM, DIFFERENT RESULTS
This is where the 8Γ8 Adventure becomes especially interesting.
Cash Express Pheno A and Pheno B share the same cultivar name, but they haven't given us identical experiences.
And the same applies across the wider room.
The plants have shared the same general growing environment, the same 12/12 schedule, and the same overall approach.
Yet each plant has developed in her own way.
Some phenotypes stretch more.
Some stay compact.
Some develop different structures.
And their individual flowering journeys don't necessarily progress at exactly the same pace.
That's the reason we keep separate diaries.
We want to document each plant as an individual rather than flatten all those differences into a single cultivar report.
Cash Express Pheno B isn't simply another entry in the room.
She's her own plant, with her own structure, her own flowers, and her own journey from seed to harvest.
And this week, her journey deserves the spotlight.
ππ±πΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π‘ THE ARTIFICIAL SUN β FUTURE OF GROW BLACK SERIES
The lighting setup remained part of the same upgraded environment throughout the run.
The Future of Grow Black Series LEDs provided the main lighting, with the two additional Black Series 600W fixtures supplied for the 8Γ8 Adventure expanding our lighting capability.
After adding the extra fixtures, we adjusted the output to approximately 59% from the plug rather than running everything at maximum.
Our working reference during the flowering stage was around 1,500 PPFD across the upper canopy, with actual intensity varying according to plant height and position.
βοΈπ‘π±
The point of adding more lighting capability wasn't simply to run everything at full power.
It gave us more flexibility in how we used the fixtures and allowed us to work with the lighting environment we wanted to maintain.
And Cash Express Pheno B developed within that shared environment, expressing her own compact structure and dense flowers.
Same artificial sun.
Different genetic expression.
πβοΈ
A massive thank you to Future of Grow for supplying the additional Black Series fixtures and helping us expand the lighting capability of the room!
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π± THE 12/12-FROM-SEED JOURNEY β A QUICK REMINDER
Because this is one of the defining elements of the 8Γ8 Adventure, let's take a moment to explain it for anyone who has just joined us.
The plants in this project were kept on a 12/12 light schedule from seed.
That means twelve hours of light followed by twelve hours of darkness each day, rather than a separate, longer vegetative lighting schedule.
We followed the plants through their early development, their transition into flowering, and the flowering weeks that followed.
The aim was to document how different plants and phenotypes expressed themselves within the same overall approach.
This isn't about claiming that every cultivar will respond identically to the same schedule.
It's about observing the individual plants and recording what actually happens.
Cash Express Pheno B developed into a compact plant with dense flowers, while other plants in the room followed different patterns of growth and development.
That's part of the value of documenting the run carefully.
The weekly reports give us a record of the journey, and the photographs help us look back at how each individual plant changed over time.
Now, we've reached the harvest stage for this girl.
The flowering chapter is complete.
The drying chapter is underway.
And the post-harvest story is still to come.
ππΈπ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π¬οΈ HARVEST COMPLETE β NOW WE MOVE INTO DRYING
After all those weeks of watching her grow and photographing her flowers, Cash Express Pheno B has now been harvested.
We took her through the harvest process, brought her into the studio for photographs, and then moved her into the drying stage.
And this is where the pace of the project changes.
During flowering, we were observing the development of the living plant.
Now, we're documenting the harvested plant material and the drying environment.
The photographs in this report capture some of those transition moments, including her harvest-day appearance and the studio session.
It's another important stage of her story, and I want to preserve it properly.
ππΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π‘οΈ THE DRYING ROOM β STABLE CONDITIONS, NO LIGHT SCHEDULE
As with her sister, the drying zone is operating without a scheduled light cycle.
We're no longer documenting a flowering-room photoperiod here.
We're documenting the drying environment.
The conditions recorded for this stage are approximately:
π‘οΈ Temperature β around 19β20Β°C, remaining stable between day and night with the help of air conditioning.
π§ Relative humidity β around 60% at the time of this report.
π Lighting β no scheduled light cycle in the drying area.
During the initial days, I temporarily brought the relative humidity down to approximately 45% to help manage the initial moisture in the drying environment. After that initial period, the humidity returned to the conditions we're documenting now.
The actual drying process can vary depending on the plant material and the conditions it experiences, so we're not treating an estimated duration as a guaranteed deadline.
For this girl, we've chosen to dry her as a whole plant.
That is the approach we're documenting for Cash Express Pheno B, and we'll continue following her journey through the drying and trimming stages.
πΏβ³π
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
πΏ WHOLE-PLANT DRYING β A DIFFERENT APPROACH FOR THIS GIRL
For this phenotype, we decided to dry the plant as a whole rather than use the drying rack for the flowers.
That's an important difference from her sister's report, where we documented the rack method.
We don't have enough DryFerm bags to use them for every cultivar in the room, and we want to test them across different cultivars rather than use all the available bags on a single one.
So we're documenting different approaches across the wider project.
For Cash Express Pheno B, the decision was to dry the whole plant.
For other plants, we're using different arrangements as part of the overall post-harvest documentation.
That doesn't mean we're declaring one method better than another.
We're simply recording what we're doing with each plant and keeping the individual reports accurate.
Every plant has her own story, and the post-harvest setup is another part of that story.
ππΏ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
βοΈ THE FIRST TRIMMING PHOTOGRAPHS β READY FOR THE NEXT STAGE!
And now, we have the first photographs showing Cash Express Pheno B after drying, with the plant material ready for the trimming session.
πβοΈπΈ
These images mark the transition from the drying stage toward the next part of the post-harvest process.
We've photographed the dried flowers, and we're beginning to document the trimming session with the trim bin.
It's another moment worth preserving because the plant looks different at every stage of the journey.
First, we followed her development from seed.
Then we watched her progress through flowering.
We photographed her at harvest.
We documented her drying setup.
And now we're moving into the trimming stage.
Each step gives us a different view of the same plant.
And that's why I don't want to rush through the documentation.
The final report should preserve the story rather than simply announce the result.
We're not finished sharing everything yet, so some of the post-harvest details will follow in Part 2.
For now, enjoy these first glimpses of the dried plant and the flowers waiting for their next stage.
ππΈβοΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
THE TRIM BIN β ANOTHER PART OF THE POST-HARVEST PROCESS
For this trimming session, we're using the trim bin to help collect and organize the material as we work.
It's part of the equipment that makes an appearance during this stage of the journey.
And as always, I'm documenting the process rather than trying to squeeze every detail into one report.
The photographs give us a look at the dried plant material and the beginning of the trimming stage.
We'll share more of the post-harvest experience in the next report, including the additional observations and the final review when it's ready.
There's no need to rush the story.
We want to show the process as it unfolds.
πβοΈπΈ
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
πΈ WHY WE'RE DIVIDING THE HARVEST REPORTS
I know I've already explained this at the beginning, but it's worth repeating briefly for anyone who has arrived directly at the photographs.
GrowDiaries has a limit of 30 photographs for the final report, and we still have plenty of material to share across the post-harvest stages.
We want to include the harvest photographs.
We want to include the studio photographs.
We want to include the macro details.
We want to document the dried plant and trimming session.
And we still want room for the final review.
Rather than overload one update or leave some of those moments out, we're splitting the story into two parts.
This gives us room to document Cash Express Pheno B properly while keeping the report readable.
So thank you for joining us for Part 1.
Part 2 will follow with the next stage of the journey.
ππΈπ±
ββββββββββββββββββββββββ
π FINAL THOUGHTS β THE COMPACT BEAST DESERVES HER SPOTLIGHT
Cash Express by Zamnesia.
Pheno B.
Harvest report β Part 1.
ππΈπ
What a beautiful journey this girl has given us!
She's compact.
She's dense.
She's beautifully structured.
And she made it through the run without us encountering the bud rot issue that affected her sister's main cola.
That alone is something I'm happy to celebrate.
But beyond that, I simply love what she has become.
She's a reminder that plant height doesn't tell the whole story.
She's a reminder that two phenotypes sharing the same cultivar name can express themselves differently.
And she's a reminder of why I enjoy documenting each plant individually.
We followed her from seed through the flowering weeks under the 12/12-from-seed approach.
We watched her develop within the shared environment of the 8Γ8 Adventure.
We photographed her flowers, admired her structure, and explored the macro details.
And now, we've reached harvest.
She's been photographed in the studio and moved into the drying stage, where we're documenting the whole-plant drying approach.
We've also reached the first trimming photographs, with the dried plant ready for the next stage.
But this is not the end of her story.
Not yet.
We still have more post-harvest details to share, and we'll return with Part 2 when we're ready.
So let's appreciate this girl for what she is.
A compact plant with beautiful dense flowers.
A phenotype with her own character.
And another individual story from the 8Γ8 Adventure worth documenting from beginning to end.
ππΈβοΈ
Cash Express Pheno B, you've earned your spotlight.
Let's celebrate the journey, enjoy the photographs, and look forward to the next chapter.
