Week 8: Flower - Tale of Two Phenotypes & Lessons Learned 🌿💜 Currently bumping: Payroll Giovanni - 580 Benz 🎵💰 The Phenotype Reality Check: Same strain, same environment, same nutrients—COMPLETELY different expressions. This is one of the most fascinating (and sometimes frustrating) parts of growing cannabis. Let's break down what's happening in the tent. Lemon Cherry (Left) - The Speed Runner 🏃‍♀️ She's moving FAST! While her purple sister takes her time, this phenotype is racing toward the finish line. Current Status: Bulking nicely with solid density Getting frosty - trichome production is strong Trichomes almost mature - surprisingly ahead of schedule! Harvest window: ~2 weeks out The Lollipopping Regret: Real talk—I lollipopped her early in flower, and now I'm second-guessing that decision. Looking at her sister with almost double the bud sites, it's clear I may have been too aggressive with the lower growth removal. Lesson Learned: Lollipopping can improve airflow and focus energy on top colas BUT removing too much means losing potential yield With autoflowers especially, sometimes it's better to let them do their thing Every bud site is potential weight—be conservative with removal The Silver Lining: The buds she DOES have are dense and frosty. Quality over quantity? We'll see at harvest! Lemon Cherry (Right) - The Purple Princess Takes Her Time 💜👑 She's SUPER purple and absolutely stunning, but she's on her own schedule—no rush, just vibes. Current Status: Progressing at a great rate (just not as fast as her sister) Color expression is PEAK - the purple is deep and vibrant Way more bud sites than Left (thanks to minimal pruning) Harvest window: Likely 3-4 weeks out The Phenotype Difference: This is a textbook example of phenotype variation: Left pheno: Fast-finishing, green, fewer but denser colas Right pheno: Slower maturation, purple expression, more bud sites Same genetics, different expressions. It's like siblings—same parents, totally different personalities. Bag Appeal Winner: The purple coloration combined with frost and more bud sites means this girl is going to be STUNNING in the final product. Worth the wait! Apple Fritter - The Dark Green Giant 🍏 She's doing well overall, though showing some signs of nitrogen excess from the organic feeding program. Current Status: Lower leaves super dark green - classic sign of excess nitrogen Not affecting bud development (thankfully!) Progressing well through flower Harvest window: ~2 weeks out (same timeline as Lemon Cherry Left) The Nitrogen Situation: Dark green, almost waxy-looking lower leaves indicate she got a bit heavy on the N during feedings. Why it's (mostly) okay: It's NOT causing nutrient lockout or deficiencies Buds are still developing normally Just a cosmetic issue at this point Common with organic amendments that release nitrogen over time What I'd do differently: Lighter on the Gaia All Purpose early flower, heavier on the bloom-specific amendments. Live and learn! Key Observations & Growing Wisdom Phenotype variation is REAL and unpredictable: Even from the same seed pack, you can get wildly different plants. This is why breeders hunt through hundreds of seeds to find "the one." Both Lemon Cherry phenotypes are good—just different. Lollipopping: Less can be more (sometimes): Seeing the bud site difference between the two Lemon Cherries is a powerful reminder that aggressive pruning isn't always the answer, especially with autoflowers. They have a limited vegetative phase—every growth site matters. Nitrogen in flower: Easy to overdo with organics: Organic amendments like Gaia All Purpose can release nitrogen longer than expected. During flower, less is more. Focus on P and K, dial back the N. Different finish times = staggered harvests: Having plants ready 2-4 weeks apart actually works out well: Manageable trimming workload (not all at once) Continuous supply of fresh flower More time to dial in drying/curing process Speed ≠ Quality: Lemon Cherry Left finishing faster doesn't make her better. Lemon Cherry Right taking her time might result in bigger yield and better bag appeal. Patience pays. The Growing Lesson Summary Phenotype hunting is real - expect variation even within the same strain Conservative pruning - especially with autos, let them keep bud sites Watch nitrogen in flower - dark green leaves mean dial it back Each plant teaches you something - these "mistakes" are actually valuable data Next Week's Plan Lemon Cherry Left & Apple Fritter (2 weeks out): Start monitoring trichomes closely Begin thinking about flush timing (if flushing) Watch for final swell and fade Prep trimming/drying station Lemon Cherry Right (3-4 weeks out): Continue current feeding program Let her take her time—she'll finish when she's ready Enjoy watching that purple get deeper More time = more weight and resin Post-Harvest Planning: Two harvests coming soon (Left + Apple Fritter) One more to follow (Right) Drying space ready Cure jars prepped Already thinking about the NEXT grow 🌱 Payroll Giovanni voice: "Different phenos, same hustle, purple flowers and that muscle..." 🎵💸 Week 8 wisdom: Every mistake is a lesson. Every difference is data. Every plant is a teacher. Keep the music playing and the garden growing! 📚🌿 Same strain, different personalities. That's the beauty (and chaos) of growing cannabis. Roll with it and learn! 💚✨

Week 4 - 01/22 to 01/28 2021 Pictures from Days 25 + 26 TRANSPLANTED! Might have waited too long but hopefully the transplant and LST stress might slow the plant down since i think it's already flipping to flower like the other @SweetSeeds Dark Devil Auto and the Purple Lemonade from @FastBuds. I think the Red Poison might have been the first one I noticed to flip but at least this one will be quick. More and more reasons to go back to a photoperiod grow after this for more control/really test out the new lights 🙌 Ended up more 50/50 ratio of Destiny Organic's Dark Matter Living Soil + ProMixHP since I had to make the Destiny last. Apparently they went out of business just after I decided it was my favourite/new soil :( Would rather stay away from Ocean Floor since I haven't had the best experiences with it (bugs/rust fungus etc) Feel free to drop some recommendations other than Fox Farms below 👍 The Red Poison Auto is going strong other wise, keeping the LST basic to see if I can still get the screen in the tent but it wouldn't be practical at this point. I raised the @ViparSpectraLED P1500 another eight inches after transplant and started basic LST. I really wanted to get these four under a ScrOG but if 3/4 are already flipping and the LSD is still runty I might have to wait it out again. Just like the Dark Devil in my other Sweet Seeds diary, there is a solid smell on the fingers after adjusting it/when the fan hit it just right 😍 I have the @MarsHydroLED TSL2000 set up and ready to go once the girls settle into their new pots. Have the new surge protector/heavy duty power cords/power tool grade timers as mentioned in Week 3. Some of it shown in the pictures. Threw some videos in this week as well with some Queen's Radio GaGa, Beastie Boys' Brass Monkey, and a little hint of Arkells ....COME TO LIGHT on the short @ViparSpectraLED ..GET IT.. 😓 I thought the Red Poison had the streaks in the leaves but turns out it was the Purple Lemonade, My Chocolate Mint OG Auto just finished curing so I must have made that update during the test session 😎 Chocolate Mint OG Auto Diary: https://growdiaries.com/diaries/77696-humboldt-seeds-chocolate-mint-og-auto-grow-journal-by-glazedgrow -- Thanks for checking in! PH 6.05 EC 0.33 After 20h I'll place the seed into the paper towel. day 2 -------- after 20h I placed: seed -> wet paper Towel (liquid from glass) -> added Great White -> placed Towel to the plastic bag -> wrapped in foil -> put in a jar for 2 days (dark place) day 3 -------- coco buffering by BioBizz CalMag 3.5 ml/l (10L ) The humidity and temperature sensor stop working. Ordered new one day 4 -------- received new T/H sensor. Something wrong with new sensor, short circuit of temperature electrical line. Ask my friend to repair.... day 5 -------- Start of Vegetation period. Placed seed to small pot. watering AN Base A + B (0.33ml/l), Voodoo(0.33ml/l), Great White (1/4 tsp) Manual temperature control, to many activities.... day 6 -------- The plant sprouted from a coconut in 1 day! watering AN Base A + B (0.33ml/l), Voodoo(0.33ml/l), Great White (1/8 tsp) Manual temperature control, to many activities.... day 7 -------- My friend finished repair of T/H sensor, I installed it back to the stealth box, everything wok perfect! Very low H inside the box, around 25%. humidifier from china was broken a month ago :)

Weekly update on these big girls. I decided to take out some of the lower branches, giving more airflow at the top of the pot level. Overall they've exploded with growth this week. I'd say they're getting close to 4ft tall. I sprayed some BT spray for ipm this week since I don't want catapillers showing up unannounced. All in all Happy

Day 21 and I tied down a few branches to spread them out a little. This platonium has a lot bigger node spacing than the other plants. They seem happy with the nutrients so I didnt mess with the reservoir this week. Will probably give them a little calmag before the end of next week. Just going to try to keep up with some training to get as many tops as possible. Debating on building some type of scrog this run but still undecided.

Looks like this might be the last week for this girl. Was hoping to see more change in tricomes but not sure if worth the wait. Give it a few more days and see what the loop says.

New week and the queens are going stright into maxprayer after mixing the new Big Bud Powder Tank with EC 1540 & PH 5.77. Lights are at the crowns with around 1000 PPFD and on the second floor around 850-900 PPFD. This week I will shift up the EC to 1650-1700 onto the peak, but lets see if the drink EC 1540 properly 😎😇😅 Edit: After 2.5 days with the new EC and Big Bud, nearly 20ltrs had been consumned by the ladys like a Mai Thai or Pina Colada 😇😋😅 I will now slowly raise the EC to 1700 this week or at least trying to, another topic is a bit of Lightstress used to the Super Zillions queen in order to stop stretch and start trichome and big bud production.

This is the actual harvest now! Out of the three plants this run, trimming (I'm wet trimming usually) this one was the most fun (least work 💩). Amazing leaf to inflorescence ratio! These may also have been the most dense/heavy buds I have ever harvested. Usually my dry weight at ~60% is about 20-25% of the wet weight.. I'm excited to see how this one ends up. Compared to the last LemonZ I grew, this one was quite a bit larger and took about 10 days longer. But I'm guessing the yield is almost 1.6-1.8x the last one! [Past Dan:]Drying right now at around ~55% relative humidity and upping to 60% in 2-3 days - will update this with dry bud shots as soon as I get the opportunity! [Present Dan:] Drying finished after seven days. Had to measure the humidity because just touching the buds made me think they're still somewhat wet. They're not wet, just VERY resinous!💩 This time I also tried to vacuum shrink one of the buds as an experiment. For people who like the "round and compact" look that maybe the way to go. I'm torn between that and the natural wet-trim-dried-look. You certainly lose some resin to the bag. Aaand some flavour too because after opening the bag it fucking STANK! I tried making a video of the vacuumed bud too but it came out too bright due to the phone-flashlight lighting the vid I think. Taste/effect report soon(tm)!

- Day 65 (Oct 3) Rose PPM to 1150 by adding another 3 X 8 mL of MGB and 5 mL of Big Bud and topped off 2 liters of water - Day 66 (Oct 4) topped off 2.5 liters of water with 3 X 10 mL of MGB and 6 mL of Big Bud - Day 67 (Oct 5) topped off 2 liters of plain water. PH is corrected PPM measured as 1150 - Day 68 (Oct 8) Topped off with 3 liters of water. Ph was fine. First amber trichomes observed - Day 73 (Oct 13) Topped off with water. PPM is around 900. Thats the max the plant asks for.

I’m going to leave the seedlings in the small brown pots until their 1st node and then I’ll transfer them into bigger plastic 3.5gal pots with 80/20 soil to perlite potting mix. One Dosidos is looking a bit behind and the one with the weird leaves ended up catching up to the Northern Lights, maybe even growing faster than it. All Dosidos’ ended up dying but one and I’m sure it’s on the way out. Northern Lights has had no issues and growing perfect.

I freaking love this plant. She's got dense buds already but she's throwing out pistils like no tomorrow. I'm curious to see how much bigger she's going to get in the next few weeks. Only a little over halfway done. She's already having trouble staying up right. I'm having to balance branches on other branches and using the ratchet hangers to keep the mains upright
