Day 36 / Week 6 Issues, Solutions & Defoliation Log 1. Issues & Root Causes: Acute Ca/Mg Lockout ("Formula 1" Effect): Pushing metabolism to the absolute redline (DLI 55, COā‚‚ 1200 ppm, 29°C) triggered a severe root zone acidification down to pH 5.5 alongside high EC (2.5). Heavy potassium cation competition combined with acidic media blocked calcium and magnesium uptake, causing necrotic rust spots on the leaves within 4 hours. *Dehumidifier Failure: The 12L dehumidifier was overwhelmed by peak transpiration from four mature plants in coco, dropping air and Leaf-VPD well below safe thresholds and stalling the transpirational pull. 2. Implemented Solutions: Substrate Reset & Buffering:** Flushed the pots with an input EC of 1.5–1.9 mS/cm cut with tap water to introduce a natural bicarbonate buffer. Runoff stabilized right inside the ideal target window for bloom: pH 6.1–6.3 and EC 2.2–2.4 mS/cm Climate Recovery (30L Dehumidifier Upgrade): Installed a heavy-duty 30L unit, bringing humidity down to ~54% and holding air VPD at 1.44–1.50 kPa, which delivers an ideal Leaf-VPD of ~1.25–1.35 kPa Light Intensity Relief: Dialed PPFD down to ~520 µmol/m²/s (DLI ~37 mol/m²/d) to halt photo-oxidation of damaged leaf tissue and allow vascular recovery. 3. Defoliation & Lollipopping: Under-Canopy Strip: Stripped the entire lower third of foliage directly up to the trellis net line. Pruning Non-Productive Growth:** Cleaned out all shaded popcorn/larf bud sites and removed necrotic leaves damaged during the lockout. Airflow Tunnel Established:** Created an open air channel underneath the canopy and around the elevated fabric pots, preventing stagnant humidity pockets and redirecting full hydraulic pressure to the primary top colas. Day 38 Netafim bow instaled. Day 39 Mastered pH stability. It was dificult but now runoff are pH 6.1 ec 3.5 No lockouts. Happy Day 42 Swapped out the empty CO2 bottle today after running dry on Day 41. Dialing in relative humidity and VPD in a fully sealed room has been quite a challenge, but parameters are finally locked in: temperatures consistently above 28°C and VPD rock-steady at 1.4 kPa. Really hoping it stays this stable now, as constant swings in humidity and VPD are far from ideal for the plants. Just hoping no other equipment dies on me like the dehumidifier did 6 days ago! Canopy is looking strong and ready for peak flowering. Netabow watering a great.

Cannopy filling out nicely. Using the odd bud clip here and there, using the net as well to even out the spacing. Height growing quick these days! Top dress this week, Gaia Green AP/PB, mixed with compost and added some insect frass this time. Heavier on PB for 10g, heavier on AP for Hugel. Weekly silica and monster maxx as well, drip irrigation and weekly spray of LCPT. Smaller 10g is flowering, slow starting, not sure she's fully made up her mind, drying out quickly though! Barely made it 3 days, heat wave for a few days, will have to boost the irrigation maybe 30mi each morning through it.

Wow wow wow !!! Insane aromas from both. Huge buds are stacking up nicely- a real pleasure to watch them both grow. The Cali is a lot taller than the grapefruit but for what the grapefruit lacks in size she makes up for in buds. It means I have to elevate her up to the same level or there abouts.

Divine indica is growing great. Plant is happy and leaves are praying. Everything is looking super good and going good. I been keeping up on lst and defoliation when needed. I will likely change her to 12/12 next update to start the flowering process. I am limited on space in the tent, and I don't want her getting too big. She is looking super good. Thank you Spider Farmer, and Divine Seeds. šŸ¤œšŸ»šŸ¤›šŸ»šŸŒ±šŸŒ±šŸŒ± Thank you grow diaries community for the šŸ‘‡likesšŸ‘‡, follows, comments, and subscriptions on my YouTube channelšŸ‘‡. ā„ļøšŸŒ±šŸ» Happy Growing 🌱🌱🌱 https://youtube.com/channel/UCAhN7yRzWLpcaRHhMIQ7X4g

Week 3ish Update Two weeks have passed since my last update, and I have to say—it’s been an interesting ride. We’re now in week three for both the OG Kush and Gorilla Skittles plants, and there’s already a noticeable difference between the two. I’m not entirely sure if it’s due to the fact that OG Kush is an indica strain and Gorilla Skittles is a hybrid sativa, or if the OG Kush has been a bit stunted in its growth. Either way, both are holding up fairly well. Feeling like the OG Kush needed a bit of encouragement, I decided to top it and follow up with some low-stress training (LST). Growth is decent, but for being nearly three weeks in, it’s still on the smaller side. I’m curious to see how it responds in the next week or two. Gorilla Skittles, on the other hand, looks fantastic. It’s also at the beginning of week three, and I’ve applied some LST without topping it—I want to see how it performs naturally with minimal intervention. Both plants experienced a bit of nutrient burn or light burn or something lol early on, but after adjusting the pH of the water, all new growth looks healthy and vibrant. Thankfully, the issue didn’t spread. I'm growing organically using a mix of bush doctors coco coir and fox farms ocean forest so just watering only when dry, and supplementing with Cal-Mag as needed. In addition to these two, I now have three younger plants that all sprouted about 10 days ago (on the 15th and 16th of this month). Moon Beam: This strain came from a cracked seed I received from Multiverse Beans. They told me to go ahead and plant it, and so far, it's doing great. I’m really excited to see how this one turns out. AK: This one is a bit smaller—similar in size and growth pattern to the OG Kush. I'm thinking the genetics play a role here, possibly an indica-dominant strain. Curious to see its development. Super Lemon Haze: Also looking strong and healthy. All three of these new additions are already showing faster growth compared to OG Kush at the same age. I’ve been carefully monitoring VPD, pH levels, and watching for pests like fungus gnats and fruit flies. I’m using sticky traps, mosquito bits, and neem oil to keep things under control, which has been effective so far. This being my first grow, I’ve learned a ton already from working with the older plants—OG Kush and Gorilla Skittles—and I’m now applying those lessons to the newer ones. I’ll admit, having five plants with different genetics might be a bit ambitious for a beginner, but I’d rather learn through hands-on trial and error than just watching videos. Again I don’t know what I’m doing however Right now, I’m feeling excited and proud. Everything is looking good—better than I expected, honestly. I can’t wait to share more updates in the coming weeks as these plants continue to develop.

Day 56 from seed(16flowering) Smoothie by name smoothie by nature !. She has been so easy to work with and train to this point and her smell is very sweet up close. #1 The Los girl is huge. she has sites throughout her structure that are developing nicely together. I expect she would have been a very big plant without the lst and would have outgrew my room very quickly. Buds are slowly developing and I expect she has at least another 3-4 weeks before harvest. #2 coco and mc have been keeping her happy. despite the poorly appearance of her mottled damage and some.dying lower leaf from before , she is growing well. her structure is natural and no ties or last at all so she is taller than her sisters. lots of sites on her so let's see what she does. #3 is one of the smaller girls in the grow and now moved into the middle to bathe her in more light. she has sites poking out of her low canopy so should still be a decent yield. Merry Christmas All on grow dairies and staff

Day 57. And Mimosas are real sl@ts ..... No doubts, they all time were most picky and stupid, but big, very big ... Only two from 3. Last one is the smallest plant from all first wave. Very strange . Smoothie's are nice, grow without big hiccups, maybe a bit of a runners, but all 3 looks very similar. Purple Punch - both small, the one in best light is giving me hope that I will chop her before holidays and will make some space for the guy who will be watering them during my offs. They are overfed a bit. So no feed all week. Just water. Two biggest Mimosa's will be transplanted into bigger pots, they drink a lot, dry too quick and are sad in my mind, so I will cheer them up with bigger pots this week. Still selective defoliation, some yo-yo, so ties and no spray anymore. Smell is getting stronger, but didn't bother to try one or other. Still nothing special or super smelly yet ... In the middle of the day Mimosa's finally happy, but before lights down - theirs leaves are down too. Overdrying them constantly too, can't wait to give them better house, that type of fight I hate. Day 60. All work done ! Huge work ! All girls were cleaned, defoliated and pots toped up with BioBizz Worm Castings. Both Mimosas got new bigger pots too. Happy Growing !!!

Buds are fattening up pretty well and I've had to use more rubber garden wire and clips to keep the branches from bending over. Smell is increasing on the Northern Light but still a mild skunk on the Black Devil. Also gave the very last feeding on the plants this week so they will get nothing but water until the chop. I'm very happy with the microbe populations so I stopped feeding the sugars (molasses/agave) as the plants themselves don't get much out of them; that stuff is just for feeding the soil beasties. I had added some predatory mites several weeks ago to deal with some springtails, and the mites annihilated the population. I did find a developing larva though so there are still some around. Posted lots of microscope videos today.

Week in the flush I've already done three flushes to force her to use what she has, very good appearance, sweet smell, with citrus leaves in the purple color they started to appear, they stick when touching the smell exhaling through the room, mixes with her sisters It's really an easy-to-take candy factory, it didn't present any problems at any time, I recommend it. šŸ¤—
