Flowering Weeks 5 & 6 The Mendo Frost has continued to develop beautifully over the past two weeks. The buds have noticeably stacked and filled out, creating a really impressive structure from top to bottom. Despite her rather open growth pattern, she is now carrying a surprising amount of flower across almost the entire plant. She will get one final feeding with Overdrive, but she is clearly approaching the finish line fast. The final stretch has begun! 🌿❄️

White Widow – Week 5 | First Signs of Pre-Flower 🌸✨ Light Schedule: 11/13 from seed Room Temp: ~30.7°C Humidity: 57–60% VPD: ~1.89 kPa Water pH: 6.0–6.1 EC: 0.6 Watering Method: Hand watering ⸻ The Story So Far This queen has a story worth telling. We started with multiple White Widow seeds, but due to an uneven heat mat (lesson learned!), only one seed survived, this very plant. She’s been with us from germination, through her careful transplant into a prepared super soil boosted with Aptus Micro-Mix, Mycor-Mix, and substrate buffer powder. From the start, she’s been under an 11/13 light shuttle, and while I expected earlier flowering, she surprised me, holding back, stacking nodes, and keeping compact. This week, in her fifth week, she finally shows her first clear pre-flower signs. ⸻ Her Look Right Now She’s not tall, but she’s perfectly built, beautiful leaf structure, tight internodes, and starting to branch nicely. The leaves are a deep, healthy green and carry the classic White Widow vigor. I took her out for a studio photo session this week, capturing top shots, side views, and close-ups of her perfect symmetry. ⸻ Feeding Update Up to now, she’s had: • Aptus Regulator • Aptus CalMag Boost • Aptus All-in-One Liquid • Aptus Start Booster Now that she’s entering pre-flower, I’ve removed Start Booster and added Top Booster to support the transition. Current mix: • Regulator • CalMag Boost • Top Booster EC sits around 0.6, pH about 6.0–6.1. Even though she’s in rich super soil, this light feeding supports her until the full soil biology kicks into gear. ⸻ Conditions Yes, temps are a bit on the high side at 30.7°C with 57–60% RH, giving a VPD of ~1.89 kPa. Not ideal, but she’s handling it well, no signs of stress. Hand watering continues, and I might keep it that way for the full run to maintain control and intimacy with the plant. ⸻ What to Expect Next Now that she’s showing pre-flowers, I expect a slow but steady transition. Being in 11/13 from seed, she might flower more compactly, with denser bud sites rather than stretching heavily. This phase will be key to see how White Widow expresses under this unconventional light cycle. ⸻ Gratitude & Shoutouts 🙏 Huge thanks to those making this journey possible: 🌱 Zamnesia Seeds – for preserving and sharing this legend of the 90s 💧 Aptus Holland – for the precise, high-quality nutrients keeping her thriving 💡 ThinkGrow – for the perfectly balanced LED bars delivering even canopy light 🚀 Future of Grow – for the powerful Black Series 600W 🧠 TrolMaster – for environmental precision across the grow ⸻ 📸 Check the gallery for close-ups, overhead shots, and a short video tour of this beautiful survivor. 📲 Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic. Super Silver Haze (Zamnesia Seeds) – Flower Week 5 ⸻ 🌿 Quick Recap – From Seed to Week 5 Flower • Week 1 Flower: Fast transition—pistils everywhere, healthy roots, compact growth. • Week 2 Flower: Morphology shift in full swing; feeding adjusted with Top Booster and Plagron trio (Power Buds, Sugar Royal, Green Sensation). • Week 3 Flower: Light defoliation to open structure. Plants ~120 cm, hybrid leaf traits, strong root activity. • Week 4 Flower: Bud stacking accelerated, pistils thickening, recipe simplified (soil NPK carrying, boosters fine-tuning). • Week 5 Flower (current): Buds swelling, pistils everywhere, resin heads sparkling. Slight leaf spotting observed—likely Ca/Mg imbalance. Adjusted by reintroducing Aptus All-In-One Liquid for a nutrient push and better balance. ⸻ 🌱 Plant Development Both phenos continue to mirror each other, tight internodes, balanced structure, and lush hybrid leaves. The buds are swelling rapidly, calyxes stacking beautifully, and pistils are thick and lively. The resin layer is already visible, giving a frosty shimmer that promises density and potency in the weeks ahead. A few spots appeared on lower and mid leaves—most likely a calcium/magnesium issue. To counter, we increased nutritional support by bringing Aptus All-In-One Liquid back into the mix, ensuring a complete and balanced NPK profile while keeping boosters steady. ⸻ 💧 Feeding & Nutrition (Week 5) • Aptus Regulator – micronutrient transport, cell wall integrity • Aptus CalMag Boost – raising Ca/Mg levels to address leaf spotting • Aptus All-In-One Liquid – full-spectrum NPK support reintroduced this week • Plagron Power Buds, Sugar Royal, Green Sensation – continuing to enhance flower development, aroma, and resin formation Soil still provides a strong nutritional backbone, but this week’s adjustments help stabilize the balance and support heavy bud development. ⸻ 🌡️ Environmental Conditions • Day Temp: ~29–30°C • Night Temp: ~25°C • Humidity: ~65% • VPD: ~1.3–1.4 kPa • CO₂: ~700 ppm • Watering: ~1.5–2L per plant/day, at ~20% soil dryness • Soil EC: ~2.0 • Light Intensity: 760–780 PPFD across canopy AC installation is still pending, so temps are slightly higher than ideal, but plants remain vigorous and unstressed. ⸻ ✨ Special Focus: Trichomes – Nature’s Treasure Houses At Week 5, trichomes are beginning to form in visible density, and this is a great moment to explore what they are and why they matter. 🔬 What Are Trichomes? Trichomes are microscopic, glandular outgrowths on cannabis flowers and leaves. They are resin factories—producing cannabinoids (THC, CBD, CBG, etc.), terpenes (aromatic oils), and flavonoids (pigments and antioxidants). 🌸 Cannabinoids • THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol): Primary psychoactive compound; euphoric, creative, uplifting. • CBD (Cannabidiol): Non-psychoactive, soothing, anti-inflammatory, balancing. • Others: CBG, CBC, THCV—each contributing unique effects and therapeutic potential. 🌺 Terpenes Aromatic molecules giving cannabis its smell and flavor profile. Examples: • Myrcene: Earthy, musky, sedative qualities • Limonene: Citrus, uplifting, mood-enhancing • Pinene: Piney, sharp, potentially focus-enhancing These terpenes modulate the effects of cannabinoids in the entourage effect. 🎨 Flavonoids Less talked about, but flavonoids contribute to color, taste, and antioxidant activity. They can influence the final bouquet and even the therapeutic properties of the plant. 🌌 Why They Matter Now At Week 5, trichomes are initiating en masse, but they are still clear and immature. As the weeks progress, they’ll cloud, then amber, signaling ripeness. Monitoring trichomes with a loupe is the most reliable way to judge harvest time, not just pistils. ⸻ 🎛️ Gear & Setup • Lighting: Future of Grow Black Series 600W, ThinkGrow ICL-300 LEDs, and Lumatek Zeus Compact Pro 465W—all synced under TrolMaster for environmental control. • Airflow: Dual 6” extraction with carbon filters (TrolMaster Aerofan + Spider Farmer), controlled separately for redundancy. • Monitoring: TrolMaster Tent-X + WCS substrate sensor—tracking EC, moisture, and real-time root zone conditions. ⸻ 🌿 Outlook The girls are in their prime flowering momentum. With nutrients adjusted and trichomes stacking, the coming weeks should bring bulk, aroma, and resin explosion. This is where the legendary Super Silver Haze genetics (Skunk x Northern Lights x Haze) begin to show their pedigree—old-school power, modern stability. Massive thanks to Zamnesia for carrying this legendary strain forward. LSTd Mr Squatty. He so very small, decided he's a "he" even though he's not. Growth all-be-it slow is very even, like a well made bed. As long as it's slow I'm okay to wait but all in, it will do what it's gonna do.

Day 8: Nothing New Notes: New lights were supposed to be here today (Monday) according to tracking, but of course, were not. So, we still got blurples for at least the next day. Both plants seem to be growing, slowly but surely! Temp and humidity are relatively under control. Based on the size of the plants, I'm thinking I might transplant into their final homes (5 gal Smart Pots) by the end of the week! Refilling the humidifier twice a day is kind of a pain. Was looking into a possible DIY solution to feed the tank from a large reservoir, so that might be coming in the future. Plants look good, soil looks kinda dry-ish, so I will be watering tomorrow. Day 9: Watering Notes: RIP my dreams of getting a new lights. Shipment is officially delayed with no ETA. Also, watered plants as they looked a little parched, and the soil was super dry. Day 10: Nothing new Notes: Lights have signature confirmation and I wasn't home 😢 Going to pick them up at the PO tomorrow and setting the damn thing up ASAP. I also mounted my exhaust fan to one of the 2x4s framing the room because it felt like CFM was lower than usual which I attribute to putting the exhaust fan all the way on the floor which added a couple bends to the ducting and lengthened it by a few feet. After mounting it (close to the exhaust port in the tent), it seemed to pick up a bit. Plants look ok. Growing very slowly. Soil still looks damp so we're good on watering! GSC definitely looks ready to transplant soon, possibly in the next day or two. NL is close behind it. Day 11: Watering Notes: I was waiting at the post office in the morning for them to open. I got home and hung the light while removing the old one. When I turned them on, HOLY SHIT ARE THEY BRIGHT. Staring at them is almost as bad as staring at the Sun -neither of which I recommend doing-. I set it up right before lights out so I didn't get to test too much. When I got home -after they have been running for 2 hours-, first thing I noticed was the temperature increase. Thermometer said it was 79f. Granted, this is running at full strength (I didn't get to adjust before I left for work). I adjusted it down to roughly 50% as most of this light is being wasted on these poor seedlings anyway. I also pointed the fan at the heat sink. We'll see how the combination of these two things affect the temperature. The GSC looks ready for transplant, with NL close behind it. I could probably transplant the GSC tonight, but I'd rather transplant both at the same time. I might transplant them Friday night after I get home, or Sunday. With that being said, I'm going to hold off on watering them until I put them in their new 5gal Smart Pots. edit: I actually did end up giving them a tiny bit of water. Day 12: Nothing new Notes: Will be transplanting on Sunday (Day 14). Plants are growing pretty steadily now. Both just about have their first full set of leaves! New lights are fucking amazing. I decided to return my filter / fan to upgrade to a better quality setup. I got a Vortex 6in S series for better longevity and also to quiet the grow area. Replaced the filter I got with a 6x16 Phresh carbon filter. Once they're both here, gonna set them up, and return the others. Day 13: Nothing new Notes: GSC is getting so big. Already up to two nodes. Same goes for the NL, but it's more Indica looking in that it's "bushy" and flat. Pretty much a sign of how the two will compare in size later on in their lives. Also, my pH pen sucks, and I needed a TDS pen, so I am going to return the shit one I got and get a BlueLab growers toolkit, which is just a pH pen and a TDS pen. Might seem like I'm going overboard, but I am trying to future-proof my setup for as long as possible. I like to get years if not decades of use out of things I purchase. The higher up-front costs are worth it to me to have a quality product that lasts. Day 14: Transplant Notes: Today is the big move. Bought some shelving / plastic containers at the hardware store for a easy to clean up drainage system. Also bought a big bag of perlite to mix and some random other tools. I mixed both 5gal Smart Pots with a 2:1 Fox Farms Ocean Forest / Perlite mix to help with drainage and aeration. I may have messed up a little and not filled the pot that will be housing the NL, but it's roughly about 3/4 full, and I may have also buried her a little bit deeper than I should have. Other than that, it was a pretty event-free move. Everything is looking good so far. Now that they're in their new homes, the countdown begins, 3 weeks, until I can start feeding them nutrients.

It was good experience trying different test, like the Main-Lining, I never tried before, but I think It works better with photoperiod plants. But I wont do the main-lining technique in autoflower anymore and especially in 12/12H, they give me about 15gr each. Unfortunately, I couldn't wait for curing. I had fun but not much seeing how much I had per plant. Cheers

I'm quite impressed by this week's development. She is starting to show her fatness. I did a flush at the beginning of the week and it helped a lot. Now I'm starting to give her less and less nuts, as she shows obvious tip burns and quite gark green leaves. I believe she will be ready in no more than 8 weeks of flower.
