Great week inside this tent. The girl got her topping and then recovered over the week. There were already some good side branching and now they are being trained even more. Flipping to flower now. Flowering time was literally 44days to include 48hrs of darkness before cutting down. Also showed 0 nute issues. Only regret is I cloned the hell out of her and let her get too tall which killed my yield....so far, but clones are now all bigger than mom wooo hahaha! So in the end I was expecting 1.5 oz and got 1.3 (however, I havent harvested the roughly 4 grams of popcorns yet) which is fine being she made some top shelf buds...they a beauties!

So that's my first ever grow completed! And something tells me i don't think it will be the last 😁🤔 overall I am proud as punch with the end result. Overall from 7 plants I ended up with 5 1/2 oz dry, top buds seem to be more compact and built up, apart from that the majority 70-80% are very airy, however absolutely packed with thc shining! Being my first grow its all for personal use so i dont mind 😁😊 any suggestions moving forward for future increase in fatter/denser nugs would be appreicated. I ran 2 x 600 watt cheap led lights, which im 100% certain dimmed towards the last 3 weeks (the brightness dramatically reduced) making me think that a few leds burnt out throughout - I think moving forward i would look into better spec grow light. Found these girls very easy to grow, very forgiving for anything i done wrong being my first experience. The plants grew all different shapes and sizes I done some lst rather late into the grow which I think give some funky growth shapes, in the end all grew out with loads of bud locations all over. Really wish I had given more space for light penetration. I ran 6 fabric pots and 1 plastic, I felt the ladie in the plastic pot took off much quicker than the rest and on cutting down seemed to have the best root setup, anyone else have an opinion on what they find best? The smells and taste are very very fruity and cirtusy/lemon, smoke nice head high still curing will update with full smoke report in a week or so! Towards the last 3 weeks or so the smell from the plants was strong and very fruity, would reccomend a carbon filter if trying to stay down low. Used all my trim and alot of of the pop corn nugs for butter so nothing went to waste currently making a huge batch for some tastey treats. Would love another blast at growing these ladies, learnt alot throughout and will take the knowledge to future grows! Hey folks, Hope you are all well during these pressing times... 2020 eh... so we are now into week 9 photos taken on Monday. Recap: Late into week 8 on Friday, it was time to perform the second round of amendments this time switching it into my bloom ratio. 50-50 of gaia green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 organic amendments. Carefully tilled it into the the first 1/4" of topsoil and watered in with molasses 50mL to 5 gal of pH 6.0 water. Into Monday, I have spent a few hours having a brew and started to prune the ladies a bit with some selective defoliation to clean up the bushhh. Haha. These ladies should start kicking into flower real soon since we are now halfway through August. Can't wait to see these girls stretch and begin budding! I'm hoping to stay ahead of the nutes due to it being a slow release system. I belive adding the molasass to the watering regime is supercharging thr soil. Plants haven't shown any signs of defficiencys! Happy times. See you guys next week!

This week I removed a couple of side branches and did a little defoliation. Annoyingly I noticed fungus gnats but not too bad and iv grown monstors with them before - they don’t seem to go for the buds and I’ll wash anyway. Iv started using the COB either 50w or 100w I can’t remember but I dimmed the Mars hydro one in compensation. Iv also turned off the water and will probably leave it off for a good few days until it may kill them? Who knows… I must admit I am tempted to just chop it now and start again but it’s actually nearly time for the first flower update as I added this one late. We are getting some stretch now. I pinched the top side branches and tucked one of the fan leaves to give more light to the side node at the bottom. I noticed the one on the side of the extra light was bigger so I turned the pot 180 degrees also. This was the first one iv not LST’d yet and tbh, at this stage I’m not sure why they tell you not to. Don’t think I’ll get as big of a yield from this than my smoothie but then I have a while to go yet.

Plants are getting too big for enough light coverage, so had to buy a second grow light. As noted before, the plant was getting out of hand and growing at many different heights making it difficult to set the optimum light distance. So, I went a little crazy and did some serious pruning (yes, during flowing, I know). Also trimmed off a number of fan leaves that were either beginning to yellow or were otherwise blocking valuable light from the many of the smaller buds. Fortunately my plants are very resilient and are finally at mostly equal heights now. Hindsight 20/20: I now have a better idea of how to route my plants using the ScrOG method. I found a well written blog that answered all the questions I had that other article didn't. Bottom line: Instead of allowing the main branches to grow through the netting and re-route the offshoots, I've found it's better to keep the main branches under the netting and allow the off-shoots to grow through instead. Think of it as the plant growing sideways.

The tropicana cherry is a magnificent plant. Its stocky and stout with really great node space. I love how solid she is and i just see such a good foundation for stretch. A really explosive week of growth. I pushed PPFD up to 310umols. Dimmers are at 60% which is drawing 224w plus 18w of DRRB. I have alos started Emerson effect ... Another The Emerson effect is triggered by the simultaneous exposure of plants to light in the deep red and far-red spectra Deep Red 660 nm /Far-Red 700 nm . A bit of boring science that explains why you need both far red and deep red in order to trigger Emerson. The effect occurs because photosynthesis is driven by two distinct pigment systems working in series:Photosystem II (PSII): Absorbs energy most efficiently at shorter wavelengths (higher frequencies), like 680 nm (441 THz). Photosystem I (PSI): Absorbs energy most efficiently at longer wavelengths (lower frequencies), specifically 700 nm (428 THz). When you provide only the higher frequency (deep red), PSI becomes a bottleneck. When you provide only the lower frequency (far-red), PSII is not sufficiently excited to provide electrons. Providing both frequencies simultaneously allows both systems to work at peak efficiency, resulting in a rate of photosynthesis that is greater than the sum of the two lights used individually. To understand the Emerson Effect, think of photosynthesis not as a single engine, but as a two-stage assembly line. What is the Emerson Effect? Discovered by Robert Emerson in 1957, this phenomenon shows that plants perform photosynthesis much more efficiently when they are hit by two specific types of light at the same time: Deep Red (660 nm) and Far-Red (700+ nm). If you give a plant only Far-Red light, photosynthesis is very slow. If you give it only Deep Red, it's better but still limited. However, when you give it both at once, the total rate of photosynthesis is significantly higher than if you just added the two results together (1+1=3). What is Happening? (The "Assembly Line") Inside the plant's chloroplasts, there are two "workstations" called Photosystem II (PSII) and Photosystem I (PSI). They work in series, meaning the first one must pass "parts" to the second one. PSII (The First Station): This station is tuned to catch Deep Red light (660 nm). It harvests electrons from water. PSI (The Second Station): This station is tuned to catch Far-Red light (700 nm). It takes the electrons from the first station and uses them to create energy (ATP and NADPH). The Problem: If you only provide Deep Red light, the first station works fast, but the second station can't keep up because it isn't being "powered" efficiently by that specific frequency. This creates a traffic jam of electrons. The Solution: By adding Far-Red light, you power up the second station. It now "pulls" the electrons from the first station much faster, clearing the traffic jam and making the whole assembly line run at full speed. The Benefits for The Grow Because i am using the Biotabs water-only method, my plants already have a steady supply of organic nutrients. Implementing the Emerson Effect offers several distinct advantages: Increased Biomass: Because the "engine" is running faster, the plant produces more sugars and carbohydrates, leading to heavier fruits or flowers. Faster Finishing: Plants often reach maturity sooner because they have more surplus energy to complete their life cycle. Better Light Penetration: Far-Red light is very good at passing through the upper leaves. This "wakes up" the lower parts of the plant that would otherwise be shaded, allowing the whole plant to contribute to growth. Enhanced Secondary Metabolites: In many crops, this synergistic light can stimulate the production of terpenes and antioxidants, improving the "quality" (smell, taste, and potency) of the final harvest. The "Sunrise/Sunset" Trick I am using 4x Invisible sun Far red/Deep red bars,they use high-quality Samsung LH351H (660nm Deep Red) and specific Far-Red (730nm) diodes for 10–15 minutes at the start or end of the light cycle. This mimics the natural shift in light at sunrise and sunset, "waking up" the photosystems or signaling the plant to go into "sleep mode" faster, which can further optimize the flowering cycle. Enviromentally i am chasing a VPD of about 1,1kpa. My room seem to sit nicely at lights on at 24c with no real drama and a little help from a 220W greenhouse bar radiator. Its using abot 4kw/h a day atm because my room is attached to the side of my house and its been -5c.. I have had to add some humidity as its also very dry atm. Im aiming for RH of 65% with my 24c but it is more around the 62s.. VPD is crucial and is the focus for this grow for me. The autopots and Biotabs make it so easy ican really just focus on perfect enviroment. A VPD of 1.0–1.2 kPa provides enough "atmospheric pull" to move calcium and magnesium up from the roots, which is critical for the rapid cell division happening now.. Plants will be flipped on Saturday which is their week 5 as im a bit behind.. As this happens i will push PPFD upto 4-500umols. by week 2 of flower. Thats the plan anyway..

9/16 88 days old. Beginning of the third week. She has been grown organically up to this point. Today I added some fox farm nuits for early bloom. I have it so I might as well use it. Only going to use for a few weeks. 9/21 did some defoliation and tried to spread her out. She doesn’t have a ton of leaves even though it may look it. She has a lot of branches. I took off a lot of branches before the flip and probably could have taken a lot more. Also fed her Fox Farm Open Seasme. She is growing in living soil and has been organic. However I have the Fox Farm and might as well use it. She is starting to put on some weight.
