💜 Purple Haze by Zamnesia – Pheno A Week 5 | The Classic Haze Begins to Stretch Welcome back to another chapter of the 8×8 Adventure! Every phenotype in this project has been raised under exactly the same conditions, yet every week they continue reminding me just how unique genetics truly are. Today’s spotlight belongs to Purple Haze – Pheno A, one of the tallest and most vigorous ladies in the room. She’s entering her first week of flowering, and while the stretch has only just begun, she’s already showing all the elegance and energy that make Haze genetics so iconic. ⸻ 🌱 The Journey So Far For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, welcome! This entire project is being grown using the 12/12 From Seed technique. Rather than allowing a traditional vegetative period, every seed was placed directly under a 12-hour light / 12-hour dark schedule from germination. The goal is simple: To let every phenotype express its natural growth habit while comparing different genetics under identical conditions. Every plant shares: • The same environment • The same lighting • The same nutrients • The same climate • The same daily care The only real variable is genetics. Watching each plant respond differently despite receiving the exact same treatment is one of the most fascinating parts of this entire adventure. Purple Haze Pheno A is proving that beautifully. ⸻ 🌿 A Lady That Loves to Reach Standing at approximately 73 cm, she’s already among the tallest plants in the room. From the very beginning she showed a strong desire to grow vertically, but she’s doing so with remarkable balance. Long internodes. Healthy side branching. Excellent apical growth. Instead of producing a dense, squat structure, she’s developing the graceful architecture so often associated with classic Haze genetics. She has presence. She naturally draws your attention the moment you open the tent. ⸻ 🍃 Leaf Tucking Instead of Heavy Defoliation One of the techniques used throughout this week has been leaf tucking. Rather than removing healthy fan leaves, I’ve simply repositioned them beneath developing branches to expose lower growth sites to more light. It’s a gentle approach that allows the plant to keep all of her valuable solar panels while improving airflow and encouraging a more even canopy. Looking at her structure now, it’s already paying off. Multiple flowering sites are receiving direct light, and the entire plant has opened up beautifully without unnecessary stress. Sometimes the simplest techniques are the most effective. ⸻ 🌸 The First Signs of Flower Although we’re only considering this Week 1 of Flower, there’s no doubt she’s making the transition. Fresh pistils are appearing across the canopy. The tops are beginning to stack. New growth has taken on that unmistakable flowering appearance, with each growing tip preparing to become its own future cola. The real stretch is only beginning, and knowing Purple Haze genetics, she’s probably not finished reaching for the lights just yet. ⸻ 💧 Feeding for the Transition As flowering begins, nutrition has shifted to support the plant through this important stage while maintaining healthy, vigorous growth. Current feeding includes: • Terra Grow • Terra Bloom • Power Buds • pH adjustment for optimal nutrient uptake Rather than making sudden changes, the transition into bloom is gradual, allowing the plant to adapt smoothly while continuing to build both roots and flowers. So far, she’s responding exactly as hoped. ⸻ 🌡️ Stable Environment, Strong Growth Like every plant in this project, Purple Haze benefits from carefully maintained environmental conditions. Current grow room conditions include: • Day temperature: 31.1°C • Night temperature: 25°C • Relative humidity: 72% • Solution temperature: 21.6°C • Root zone temperature: 21°C • CO₂ concentration: 639 ppm Maintaining consistent environmental parameters ensures every phenotype is evaluated fairly, allowing the genetics themselves to tell the story. ⸻ 📷 This Week’s Gallery This week’s photographs capture a plant that seems to gain confidence every single day. The studio portraits highlight her graceful structure, while the close-up shots reveal healthy new flowering sites emerging across the canopy. Several images focus on the leaf tucking performed throughout the week, showing how opening the canopy has allowed light to penetrate deeper into the plant. The overhead views reveal excellent symmetry, and the room updates continue documenting the environment these ladies are growing in. It’s always rewarding to compare these images week after week and watch the transformation unfold. ⸻ 🔮 Looking Ahead The coming weeks should be incredibly exciting for this phenotype. I expect the stretch to continue for a little while longer before she begins putting all of her energy into flower production. As the canopy fills in and the bud sites begin stacking, it’ll be fascinating to see whether she develops the long, elegant colas often associated with Purple Haze genetics. She’s already one of the standout plants in the room for her structure alone. Now the flowers get their chance to tell the rest of the story. ⸻ 💚 Thank You Thank you so much for following another chapter of this 8×8 Adventure. Every week these diaries become a little more exciting, and sharing every success, lesson, and surprise with this incredible community makes the experience even more rewarding. A huge thank you to: 💚 GrowDiaries for providing a place where growers from all over the world can learn from one another and celebrate the journey together. Zamnesia for the outstanding genetics that make this phenotype hunt possible. 🌱 Plagron for providing the nutrition supporting these plants from seed to harvest. 💡 Future of Grow LED for delivering the light powering this entire grow. 🌿 TrolMaster for maintaining a stable environment and helping every phenotype perform at its very best. And finally, thank you to everyone following these diaries, leaving comments, asking questions, and sharing this journey with me. Every phenotype deserves its own spotlight, and Purple Haze Pheno A is already proving she’s more than worthy of hers. Growers Love and the adventure has only just begun. 💜🌿

Die Parameter in Woche 9: Controller Einstellung Tag: Advanced AI Luftfeuchtigkeit 50% - 60% Controller Einstellung Nacht: Advanced AI Luftfeuchtigkeit 50% - 60% Durchschnittliche Tagestemperatur: 25 Grad Durchschnittliche Nachttemperatur: 22 Grad Durchschnittliche Luftfeuchtigkeit Tag: 55% Durchschnittliche Luftfeuchtigkeit Nacht: 55% Durchschnittlicher VPD Tag: 1,3 Durchschnittlicher VPD Nacht: 1,1 LED Leistung: 40% = 145 Watt Beleuchtungsdauer: 12 Stunden Umluft: Stufe 1 oszillierend

GIVE THIS GROW A THUMBS UP 👍 WEEK #2 DAY 9: She was stunted day 6 & is recovering from that currently . She is in a 5x5 with 3 autos between 35-42 days old . The plan is to veg this single Cereal Milk out to fill this entire 5x5 once my Autos are harvested . This is my first run with this cultivar & breeder however it was an easy choice considering I adore the taste , smell, & smoke of the strain! Week 1 issues: The tents VPD was out of whack . Due to the VPD being out of proportion slowed/stunted growth occurred equally across all 4 plants in the tent . Plants showed deficiencies of CalMag and interveinal yellowing , necrosis leaf spots , reddening leaf petioles & leaf stems slowly progressing in the worst affected plants to red leaf veins & lastly droplets of condensation on the leaves (plants were sweating) Anyways after I fixed the VPD issues , I added a makeshift dome for humidity retention of the Cereal Milk & 3 days later which is today she has added 2 new nodes almost catching up to where she would be with normal healthy unstunted growth at day #9. She was transplanted from her starter pot last night into a 2 gallon with plenty of dry amendments mixed in for a 6-8 week veg. I’m debating on scrogging this plant or LST & Supercropping the SHIT out of this plant . I’ve never scrogged before and am not welcoming any new learning curves at the moment which is my main reason not to even though I think it may be the biggest help to filling this tent & “supporting” the enormous load of bud sites I am planning to grow . I worry about to inconvenience of defoliating & training branches down without being able to get around the outside of my tent given its location in a corner . If I had anticipated wanting to grow a single 2lb + plant when determining my grow location I would’ve placed it more ” openly “. If I can think up a work around to canopy maintenance so that I can keep it clean & by the books I’ll quit complaining & try it . Otherwise she’ll be LST’d & Supercropped OR topped and mainlined . Day 14 END OF WEEK #2 I’ve added remote temperature & humidity monitoring/controller. Now I can monitor the dips & swings while making adjustments to better dial things in . (Just trying it on for size here , for full disclosure I am not in love with it & if I can not modify what it is that is bothering my existence I WILL be returning this unit AND purchasing another brand with the capabilities I am looking for the connectivity for this specific unit I am trying was a BIG deciding factor for me but all in all is not enough to make me settle on this one if I can potentially have it all. . Odds are highly leaning towards returning this unit .) Finally raised the pot to level with the older girls in flower currently . I was wrong when I reported in setup that she was “30 inches “ from the light . She in fact was 35 inches‼️away so I raised her to be 26 inches from the light by placing a 1 gallon bucket beneath her . I WILL NOT LET THE MID-END OF FLOWER & DRYING to cause my run to get derailed

Flowering week 2 the ladies are slowly forming tips and everything is going according to plan. Purple Punch x Lemon Drizzle has slightly burnt tips from the fertilizer. I probably could have started fertilizing even later.

One more week should do it. There are some amber trichs. But, not enough down the stem. And, I'd like just a little more bulk. Between the two, one more week won't hurt anything. As far as nutrients for the week, I've only been giving it about half dose of KoolBloom as a supplement to what is in the soil already. It worked well with this cultivar last time, too. The buds are about 1.5 inches wide. Or, 4cm to the rest of the world. I still don't get why the US won't change to metric!!

Day 78 - Ripening a. the buds are gaining more and more weight, humidity 45% b. the resin is dripping from the buds, the amount of resin on this plant is next level c. smelling this plant when I open the tent I smell floral fruity tones Day 79 - more resin a. the glands on this plant keep growing upward and multiplying all over the buds b. buds fattening Day 80 - buds are rock hard a. the colas are very dense, even the buds down the limbs are dense! Day 81 - the smell is so strong! a. glad I use carbon filter in this box, this plant smells crazy good like most citrus weed you've ever smelled. b. I clipped a bud, dried it safely, smoked .25g in a bong and the effects are already super strong. c. trichomes are about 60% milky, a few ambers here and there, still plenty of clears to let ripen. Day 82 - her pistils are 70% brown/orange - buds are becoming blue! Video uploaded a. the colas are very tight and dense with their leaves all being yellow now, many are able to remove by hand with no effort except the huge amount of resin holding them in. I will not remove any because I will be making hash later on. b. the buds are turning a nice blue color. I will be going the distance with this plant! c. Trichomes are 80% white, 20 % clear with a few ambers here and there, still needs more time! DWC and autos always take a little longer due to the abundance of readily available nutrients in the water pool. Day 83 - ripening fast! Blue Gelato buds! a. turned lights down to 50% intensity b. will begin the flushing process tomorrow Day 84 - We will begin the flush! a. I will use Florakleen to flush the ladies for a few days, then I will harvest b. the trichome production is next level with this plant

Pleasure to grow. Low maintenance in super soil setup in 5 gal cloth pot. Stayed small and compact but frosted up early and heavily. No deficiencies, steady growth, no training needed. Even minimal LST (which I did not do), would surely increase yield but I was more focused on quality and letting it do its thing. Genetically, it was determined to grow a perfect little canopy while not taking up much space, about as low maintenance as you can get on a plant imo. Running autos is still a limited thing for me, I like the idea of having keeper clones of photos as this is all for personal medical use, but this plant was fun to grow, true to form and stable as heck. I have a few seeds left and I’ll definitely save them for an outdoor run down the line

Alright folks! We are running on aprox Day30 into the grow! The tallest plant almost stands up 18+ inches! Shes growing good, I do have one plant that is being all funny and its showing me excessive signs of nutes. Added Calmag feeding @ 3mL/Gal and watered each plant about 2L each. Pots were dryish, been 8 days since the last watering. (i think its a bit too long for airpots, but plants seem to be ok) This week just adjusted some of the LST ties so the plant can stretch a bit. Also did a very light defoliation (removing dead leaves) and allot of tucking. I replaced the Vivosun Osc Fan due to a reddit post i saw of one being burnt to a crisp, replaced them with the HoneyWell turbo force fans. So far so good. Also moved one of the main fans to the side of the tent trying to setup a cross draft air circ. I have also noticed that the plant is now in pre-flowering and some very nice aromas coming from the plant. (green/Citrus/Sweet) notes. It quite pleasant to be in the tent! :)

This week seems to have gone fine no major problems to document. Girls are growing strong. Wouldn’t say it been a speedy process going into flowering but I have done some extensive training so that could be the reason for slower growth. Going to leave them alone now let them do there thing this next coming week

Alright... not everyone bounced back and it´s like they´re working in two speeds! 😩 Some are thriving and I´m struggling to keep up with the training and others are lagging and don´t offer me much to work with. 😅 I had to rearrange the pots to even out the canopy and did some more defoliation. 😉 Was planning to experiment with the light schedule by removing an hour a week until it reach the 12h, but its getting too cold and the temp drops a lot with the lights out. I might keep them at 17 or drop to 16/8. But definitely I´m trying it out in the summer. 😎 The damage is done and now just have to make the best of it! ✊

Danke & Grow on 🌱 – Rocko 🔥 Final days before chop – lilac terps & cloudy trichomes 🌸👀 📅 Flower Day 73 | Day 133 Total Now it’s really the final stretch. Not much is happening anymore – except both ladies clearly fading and looking more worn out by the day. Exactly what you want to see: they’re pulling every last bit of nutrients from the leaves. The White Gushers 33 still needs a bit more patience, while the Triangle Sherbet Kush is already almost fully cloudy – barely any clear trichomes left. Definitely in the harvest window, but I’ll give them a few more days to really hit that sweet spot. When opening the tent now, a very clear floral lilac note comes through – super pleasant and quite pronounced. It leans towards a fruity, slightly sweet lilac profile, already very round and well developed. For about a week now, they’ve only been getting plain water. Interestingly, both are still drinking quite well – smooth finish so far. Spring is slowly kicking in outside, VPD is getting more stable – not very relevant at this stage anymore, but at least no excessive humidity. One thing that bugs me a bit: the White Gushers 33 is throwing small foxtails on already finished buds. Not ideal, but nothing you can really influence at this stage. I’ll give them another 3–4 days, max 5 – then it’s chop time. ? 💬 Community Feedback – Dark Period before Harvest Following my question about dark period before harvest, I wanted to sum it up here: Thanks everyone for the great input! 🙏 Really interesting to see the different opinions here. Most growers seem to agree that harvesting in the morning before lights turn on during the normal cycle is the most common approach. Some still like to add a 24–48h dark period, while others consider it unnecessary and prefer not to interrupt the plant’s rhythm. In the end it seems that proper ripeness and timing matters more than the final dark period itself. Appreciate all the experience shared here – lots of good insights! Thanks & Grow on 🌱 – Rocko

Week 9 Didn’t do anything this week except water the lady’s. My telescopes batteries died so I can’t take pics of the tricomes. Rest assured they are nice as hell. They are a massive mix of colour. You see purple, cloudy yellow and amber. Super excited to puff on these nugs!!
