This week has started well. The girls have recovered from transplant shock very well. The roots are already coming out of the bottom of my 3 gal smart pots. I increased my grow lights brightness from 75% to 100% now that the plants are growing well. I need to keep my girls short in my small grow space so increased light levels help me with that along with training techniques.My grow light is always at the top of my grow box so dimming is my only means of control :) Gave weekly nutrient solution and watered until runoff.Installed Blumat irrigation system with 5 gal reservoir.I will run ph'ed water(6.0) through Blumats and nutrients by hand watering so to limit clogs in my irrigation system. The Blumats are new too me and I hope to get them dialed in for this run 😬

No major growth spurts; it’s growing rather slowly. It actually gets enough light and is being fed properly. Perhaps the big growth spurt is still to come. The weather was mixed again.

Day 64 - Beginning of the Final Flowering Week 🌱 Hello, my grow friends! We’re entering the last flowering week, and it looks like I’ll be harvesting the plant around Friday, which will be roughly Day 68. 💭 Harvest Decision: It’s a tough decision because while the buds are still growing, the trichomes in the middle and lower parts of the plant are already about 80% milky and 10% amber. I’ll keep an eye on things and plan to check the trichomes again on Day 65, two days before harvest, to make a final decision. 🌿 Trichome Considerations: I have a feeling that even after cutting the plant and hanging it upside down to dry, some nutrients might still move into the buds, potentially causing them to swell a bit more. This is something I’m curious to see. 💧 Humidity, Water, and Temperature: As I mentioned in my last update, I flushed the plant yesterday, just before the start of the final week, with 4 liters of water. This should help flush out any remaining nutrients, and I likely won’t need to water again before harvest since the pots are thoroughly soaked. The humidity and temperature are holding steady between 52-58% and 20-24°C, which I find ideal. I’ve got my exhaust system and fan running continuously to ensure no mold develops. 📸 Final Updates: I’ll check in again with an update just before harvest to let you know how things are looking. Remember, I’m posting new pictures and videos of my plant every day. 🌱 Day 70 - Last Day Before Harvest 🌱 Hey Grow-Friends! 😄 Today marks the final day before harvest, and I couldn’t be more excited! As planned, I’ve kept the plant in darkness for the last 48 hours and haven’t watered it for 6 days. My goal is to let it sit in the dark until this evening, when the time finally comes to chop it down. 🌿✂️ Drying Decisions 🌬️ After much research and considering several factors—especially the high humidity in my tent—I’ve decided to go with wet trimming instead of dry trimming. I know dry trimming is often recommended for better bud quality and taste, but my main concern is avoiding mold at all costs. So, to play it safe, I’ll wet trim the buds, get them into the right size, and then place them in a drying net for about 7 days. Timing Concerns ⏳ I’m still figuring out the best timing for transferring the buds into curing jars. Since I’m wet trimming, I won’t be able to rely on the classic “stem snap test” to check dryness. But we’ll figure that out as we go along! Final Reflections 🌟 It’s been an amazing journey, and although I could push the grow a little further, I believe this is the perfect time to harvest. Given my upcoming personal plans, it feels right to finish up now. I can’t wait to report back with the harvest update soon! 🌿 Stay tuned, and as always, thanks for following along!

Ok starting to look nice. I’ve realised my TDS meter calculates a low ppm given the EC therefore I’ve been thinking my PPMs are lower than they probably have been thus the burning leaves. From now on I’m going to use the EC reading of my meter as that is what it actually measures. I’m not sure how long left as this is my first plant. I have a handheld microscope I can use to check the crystals but there don’t seem to be any good spots to get in and use it on easily at the moment, I don’t want to damage the buds too bad. Finaly made a rig that allowed me to raise my light even more as it was too close and I had run out of room to go higher. Its been a funny plant a far as I can tell. Took a long time to flower but is pretty large and seems pretty healthy. Keen for the harvest. 😀 A few weeks ago I changed my nutrient ratios to the ones fourth last on the chart (B...) in the photo and have used it at a watered down rate for the plant. Going into week 2 of flowering and shes looking pretty nice if I may say so my self. I've been trying to make her as flat and wide as possible for the last few weeks with some LST using paper clips. For the last few weeks the pH was raising daily from 5.5 all the way to around 6.6 over night so I would have to go back every day and add some pH down to bring it back to 5. I was thinking it was due to light getting into the reservoir so I added more black out to the bucket and for the last 3 nights I've checked the pH has been steady at 5.7 so I'm thinking I solved that problem.

It was finally time to harvest her, what good times we had with her. Amazed with how beautiful this plant is, how easy to manage and train and how rewarding Orange Hill Special is. So we said our thanks and goodbye, thanked her for all the joy she gave while growing her. I realize more and more how I love growing them even more than the end-product. It takes my mind of all going on for a while, in my miniature jungle world in the attic. Im sure all of you just sometimes sit there and watch them, in wonder, dreaming away with a good buzz on, watching them wave in the wind of the fans. So with a heavy hart I apologize, play them their last music, sit with them and feel them and smell them, watch the glistening of the cristals. In the end we had 209 gram dried Orange Hill Special, I will know the total of the grow, in a few days, since the final big whopper still has to dry: my XtraKush, be sure to check the harvest of that one *in couple of days) and see a one-dollar seed outperform two 10 dollar seeds. First week indoors done !!! And they BULK ;) Love it !!! Trichs stacking well, they don't look so leafy anymore and overall it will be nice result with wild forest strawberry flavour ... Finishing indoors - works !!! Middle of the week. Girls drink like crazy, bulks up and looking really nice, just watered and thinking its the one before last one .... Loads of dead leaves, they eat themself nicely and will award me with clean smoke at the end .. Wild forest strawberry smell faded away tho, a bit sad, maybe he is still in the bud . 5th day of week. They are ready !!! Checked all plants, first ambers, even fresh pistils here and there, loads of fan leaves where eaten, plants just finished perfect. Purple colours here and there and full maturity in my eyes. Still one more light watering, 48 hours of darkness and chop hopefully on sunday, next wednesday - latest. Happy growing !
