Week 11 Veg - Mentha de Croco Mutants Hello, Grow Diaries fam! 🌱✨ This week’s update is all about setting up for the big transition—we’re finally flipping these beauties into flower! But before we do, I took some important steps to ensure a smooth transition. Defoliation & Why It Matters Before Flower Before the flip, I gave them a thorough defoliation, clearing out lower and overcrowded leaves. Why? Because: More Light Penetration – Helps lower bud sites develop properly. Better Airflow – Reduces humidity buildup and risk of mold. Focused Energy – Encourages the plant to put energy into strong bud production instead of unnecessary foliage. Of course, balance is key—I trimmed enough to open things up but left plenty for healthy growth. Final Pre-Flip Routine • Temps & RH: Holding steady at 22°C with 66% RH, keeping conditions ideal before flower. • 💧 Nutrients: Running the Aptus Holland Clean Feeding Approach with: • Regulator for plant resilience. • RO Water Conditioner to balance pH and improve uptake. • System Clean, even though I’m not using a hydro system, to keep the root zone optimal. • All-in-One Liquid, which is now the primary nutrient source. • 🔄 Watering: Still bottom-watering to keep gnats away and encourage strong root growth. 36-48 Hours of Darkness Before the Flip Before switching the room to 11 hours of light and 13 hours of darkness, I’ll be giving them a 36-48 hour dark period. This technique helps signal the plants that it’s time to transition, leading to a faster and stronger flower initiation. Stretching is still going. Buds development is great and i have no issue what so ever so far. Just the leafs hang a bit due to less watering but that changed.

So one thing about this strain that was kind of a bummer was the smells were literally all over the place in a great way. Sour gummies worms from the keef, diesle/gas from the leaves, and lemon hard candy/carrots/dab carts from the buds but when smoked it, the floral taste was so rounded that the other smells never came thru except the purple one that had tight smaller buds, had a lemony taste still. (Remember had to cut early from braking). On the other hand, the way this plant grew had me in a state of personal amazement. I was actully super excited telling my friends that it got TOO BIG for the branches. Buds stacked perfectly on every plant. The topping and recover time went smooth. She shaped nicely right before flower. And back to my negative statement that I had..... the smells were INCREDIBLE!!! I recommend it to everyone soly for the smells.

Pretty much same as last week, I had another plant herm and kicked it out of the garden. I’m down to 16/50 seedlings that I had, but I was expecting that, which is why I did so many. Things are looking pretty good though! It does seem as if only some of the branches/colas on some of the plants were pollinated, which apparently is possible? I also started to flush the one girl that is furthest along, I’m thinking she will be ready for harvest within 1-2 weeks based on how fast she’s been progressing. Anyways looking forward to the coming weeks! Happy growing everyone 🌱

Day 106, 17th of November 2020: We need to say goodbye to her very soon. The judgement is harvest. Time has come and she is old enough to be cut. I have checked trichomes all good some days darkness and no more water also and she will be just outside on the table for some days. Really nice little plant not strong smell. I really wanna try the smoke the ratio 1:1 CBD:THC and only 7.5% CBD and 7.5% THC haha :)

Will be doing 12 x dutch buckets coco/perlite mix on an automated feed and drain to waaste, as well as 4 x soiless mix handwatered for my son to learn the basics of growing. Big ups to the BOOFPARTY crew Lights are awesome. 3 x HLG 550 clones LM301b diodes. Room is self contained, fully climatised and insulated with vapor barrier. And the time to flip her out came and here is day one on a 11/13 light shuttle lol she is looking amazing to my eyes and so , but so ready to flowers and deliver big fruits, lets see. I topped 2x and they are all clean up to the top, from now on i will give her a defoliation some point on, like day 15 something like that, depending on her needs , if needed before it will b if after, after will b, she will decide if and wen i defoliate her . I gave her still in this watering some root booster (start booster in my case) but from now on i will not give it tho her any more, started my P on them and my fruit booster ( in my case topbooster) Gave her her last training and from here on she is capable of doing her thing, i believe in her and in the power of Aptus Nutrient line. White Widow is looking very good. Nice bud site development coming along. I backed down a little on the Recharge this week, but still giving twice the suggested amount. Also still giving her Mammoth P. Will start with MegaCrop (Greenleaf) nutrients later this week. 👍

So, starting the 6th week of flower with the phantom OG. BIg Bud has been stopped and has passed over the baton to Bloombastic for the last two weeks(ish) before flush. The POG. Are looking nice hopefully the next 3 or 4 weeks will get them looking a bit better than that.😍😍😍 The smell is awesome very fresh and clean, one leaning towards a minty aroma.
