Grow Diaries: Week 22 Journal Entry – The Durban Poison Quartet * Date: August 14, 2026 * Location: Eastern High Plains, CO * Stage: Photoperiod Vegetative / Early Transition We are officially hitting week 22 with the Durban Poison quartet sitting in their 25-gallon bags on furniture dollies out on the deck. The growth and vigor across all four plants continue to impress, filling out their canopy space with deep green, healthy foliage. Sunlight Optimization & Layout Adjustments With the sun tracking differently as we push deeper into August, maximizing every hour of direct light is critical. Today, the entire quartet was carefully rearranged on the deck. Shifting the positions of the 25-gallon containers ensures that the peripheral branches and lower growth get their fair share of unfiltered exposure, keeping the canopy uniform and preventing any shaded bottlenecks. Feeding & Nutrition: Sea Kelp Tonic Today marks an important milestone in the weekly feeding schedule: it is sea kelp tonic day. Applying this organic tonic provides a rich array of natural micronutrients, trace minerals, and beneficial growth hormones to support root vigor, enhance stress resistance, and fuel sustained vegetative health as the plants continue their upward push. Phenotype Notes & Observations * DP4 Progression: A special callout for DP4 this week—she is really starting to step up her game, showing fantastic structure and officially beginning to build out her colas. The low-stress training (LST) and welded stakes are doing their job, opening up the inner sites to catch maximum light. * The Quartet: DP1, DP5, and DP6 are keeping pace right alongside her, showing dense foliage and strong branching throughout the 25-gallon setups. Update 8.15.26 Durban Poison Update: Transition to Flower! The Durban Poison crew is officially making the shift! After a solid vegetative phase since sprouting back in mid-March, the girls are starting to show their first exciting signs of flower. * Early Pistils & Cluster Development: Tight cluster formations and fresh white pistils are popping up at the top sites, confirming that the photoperiod crew is transitioning right on schedule. * Nutrition & Care: Following recent top dressings like the seabird guano applied earlier in August, the plants are looking robust, healthy, and ready to pack on weight as bloom sets in. * Training & Setup: Sitting comfortably in their 25-gallon bags on furniture dollies, all four plants have responded exceptionally well to low-stress training (LST). It grew pretty good under the Unit Farm UF4000 and UF2000 lights. The UF2000 was add to the group grow in flowering. Looks like it is leafy bud, but I imagine the flower here has some kick. I uploaded the harvest video. Sorry about the dogs. Will report when I get to smoke report. Still wet, but I am very happy with the result for my first grow :) The autos grew much bigger than I expected and I underestimated the growth spurt during flower, so I had increase the setup beyond what people might see as pure budget. Anyway I can't wait to try :)

DISCLAIMER START EC Value on weekly page is the actual value, my EC meter was not calibrated and gave extremely false values, that's why it went so bad, corrected it on the weekly page when I noticed it, the EC value in the comment is wrong, the rest is correct. DISCLAIMER END Plant grew a little this week, is still way to small and also full on in bloom. Drastically increased distance to the light from 30cm to almost 60cm, I always used to do that in previous grows but for some reason thought I had to do 30cm this time !? could also be a reason it didn't grew as usually. The mutation I found on leaf grew bigger. Will move the plant some when next week in to a smaller plant since it will not grow much bigger anymore. Added a new light to the tent, the Kingbrite P55 320W, when the plant is moved it will be back under the Mars Hydro SP3000. Switched to 24h light on the last day. Values are average of the day. Hello smokers and growers 👋 Starting the 5th week of flowering strong with the stack continuing to do its thing. Putting my face in the plant I get smells like banana skin/peel! Did a small defol to get more light penetrating and even added “under canopy” to start filling in the lowers. I know I probably should have run the full term with the lights under but it’s okay. Right now the lower growth was barely trimmed up so hoping to see a difference with the light added. She’s looking happy healthy, I’ve tried to grow this strain like 3 times but she is a picky one. Always comes out sub par for my standards. Most likely the fault of my own… Doesn’t like nutrients and doesn’t like humidity, what an odd genetic! Lol Comments questions suggestions let me hear it

DAY 71 💧 - Added 1000ml tap water with PH- to drop ph from 6.9 and ec 1.7 📑 - DWC PH 6.4 - EC 1.7 🌱 - She starts to develop the smell, I finally see some potential. I just need to fix her. DAY 72 💧 - RESERVOIR CHANGE ~15L tap + nutes (reduced the proportions of all the additivies keeping it closer to main schedule) 📑 - DWC PH 6.2 - EC 1.5 🌱 - Experienced people suggested I need a res change, with lower EC, so here we are. DAY 74 💧 - 2L added (1L tap + 1L distilled) 📑 - DWC PH 5.9 - EC 1.6 🌱 - PH falling EC creepling up, need to dilute more, spots keep appearing. She is indeed really dark. DAYS 75-76 💧 - I keep adding tap water ~1L a day because my ph keeps falling lower than 5.5, but it EC kinda stays the same. 📑 - I'm doing my best to keep PH at 6 but it keeps falling. EC flactuates very little and mostly stays at 1.6 🌱 - A lot of rusty spots on some leaves... still looks quiet dark. But buds look good :) I'm still not sure about her smell. Can't say neither good or bad so far, kinda of meh but hope she can develop her fruity side more.

Ende von Woche 4 ist zu sehen, die Mädels wurden geFIMt allerdings mit einer Rasierklinge. Die beiden krumble brauchten dringend Dünger, der verbrauch steigt deutlich an. Habe von 5 auf 7 ml/L erhöhen müssen auch bei den Zake.

So I found this elastic SCROG wasn't doing for me ... so I just took it off . Lucky I'm working with a VERY resilient strain as it was cloned from a mother whom in which was the survivor of my 75 plant loss. So this this was burnt to a crisp without water for a little over 14 DAYS . So I wouldn't try this with anything I wasnt sure could "take the heat" . With it off the buds just kinda flopped a bit but still retained alot of resilience; the beautiful things . Now I could name about 100 things I could have done better . But if you think your "the best grower ever " that's a pretty used minded way to look at it . But am I proud of myself . Yeah :) - slow down feed to leave terp at end . Welcome to week 10! First Time checking trichomes this week but were still far off (~3-4 weeks+). Deficencies are officially under control, theyre not getting any worse by now. Ramped up nutes, next watering will also be 4ml/l of bloom instead of 3. They really started to swell and build mass by now. Despite all the issues in the beginning, im happy with how they look now and i learnt a lot. well, i say lot, mainly just "dont overwater" lol. Didnt defoliate, just watering and checking on them. They smell really good and kinda strong, not overwhelming yet but im 1 inch away from giving them the "strong" here on growdiaries. Timelapse again at the end of the week.

Einfach schön zuszusehen, wie die Sex Bud an Masse zulegt. Die Farben überaschen jedes Mal wenn man das Zelt öffnet. Der Geruch wird langsam merklich stärker. Wir haben die ersten braunen Trichome entdeckt. D.h. wir gehen in den Endspurt. 👽

We are finally into flower stage ! I moved this lady into a bigger room with more powerful light. She not actually tall and I’ll see how I control the stretch I made a big work on her root and I’m satisfied of the result !

Week 11 August 11 —- Breeding Project—- We recently had a run of Sour Diesel and I decided to take the only male from that batch and cross it to some clones, one being the Cerezaz strain. The goal of this cross is to find faster flowering (45-55 days) plants and also increase yield as the Cerezaz is a timid producer and Sour Diesel is generally a medium to high yielded. Other characteristics we are looking for are: sour, berries, cherries, diesel, gas on the nose ( although unique combinations are welcome), decrease light sensitivity( Sour diesel was sensitive to light intensity) as well as breed in some resistance to heat from the Cerezaz as she did outstanding in 90+ heat indoors. Currently this batch of Polyhybrid F1s are exhibiting mostly the sour diesel traits: generally more tall and lanky, leaves closer to the main stem and drooping( as seen in some landrace sativas) and the stem rub is chemical, soap astringent with a slight savory berry backend with large fat fingered leaves. The other pheno is squat with very good lateral side branching and grows slower height wise medium sized leaves and the fingers are neither skinny nor fat but generally on the thicker side. Similar nose on these but more Cerezaz leaning so the berry, cherry sweet is more noticeable. With all that being said these ladies are top dressed and just got flipped into flower! So come along for the ride! 💪🏾

This diary is going to be a day by day if I keep up. Unless I am on vacation I will take pictures every day. Sorry for some of the potato quality pics earlier on. After week 2 or so I'm going to only take pics with my camera flash. The first image is about a day after sprouting. No pictures for the pineapple for the first week as I wasn't sure if it was going to grow or perish. It must have had a mild root infection but it has won the battle against it as of now and is doubling in size daily after a week of not doing much. I am using a uv light in the reservoir. My method is using 3-D printer root sprayers to pump water directly to the roots, I also have an air stone in each 5 gallon bucket. I have an overflow on each bucket to drain the water back into the reservoir. I positioned the buckets on top of chairs to let gravity do its thing there. Humidity has been fine lately so I am not using the dehumidifier. Future grows I will get a controller to turn the dehumidifier on if needed. I wanted to clone these but realized it's not good to do with autoflowers so I have ordered regular feminized purple haze and cbd blueberry for my next grow. Stay tuned!

These buds are getting absolutely caked under the MarsHydro..you can tell these plants are going to be killer...I haven't pulled the glass out to inspect this week but last week we were only about 20% cloudy, probably 2 more weeks if I had to guess..flushing these seems to be tricky, we've been using water only for approximately 12 days and their color refuses to fade, some are still a little glossy..I think we're going to start watering these every other day with a gallon each until they're finished, harvesting anything that dark has never been good. We have a few plants lined up to flower the day these come down (White Widow likely) ..every Banger clone taken in week 2-3 of flower are growing and of good size now, we'd like to put a few outside this summer ... Not the biggest harvest but its probably the most potent i have grown so far except for maybe the gg4 auto but im going to be doing some more titan and other f1s for sure probably going to try some of the other ones also all in all im happy with the few ozs i got ,super dense and very sweet fuely berry smell its very got a very unique look,smell and taste its awesome im so glad i grew all these different strains that i have never smoked or grew lol the only thing from this round i have smoked or grew before was the gg4 the rest were all new and i did each plant differently according to what the girls were telling me and it worked out fairly well for me this round
