How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. The week starts Monday, Jan-13 in flowering stage. The plant is growing fast, stretching long and I'm constantly tying down branches to maintain an even canopy. There's also a stronger scent of lemon already in the tent. Carried out substantial defoliation of almost all the big fan leaves and a few little stems that were not likely to make it above the canopy. Avoided defoliating the major cola branches. This encourages the plant not to waste resources on a node which is only going to produce “popcorn” buds. The plants reacted well to the defoliation and were looking good by the end of the light cycle for the day. The net is completely full and this will be the last week of applying any LST as part of the ScrOG setup. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering almost 3L per day. Lowered the average RH in the space to 50%. ----prior 4 weeks updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-06 in flowering stage. The net is filling up nicely with the ScrOG process being enjoyable - just tucking branches nicely under squares once stretched enough. Lost a branch end with 3 nodes accidentally whilst tucking away so now I'm super careful. The Sativa dominant strain is stretching nicely and bends easily. Minor defoliation of lower branches and fan leaves continues daily. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-30 in vegetative stage - switching the light regime to flowering. Initiated flowering with an extended dark period prior to switching light regime - this practice is supposed to promote a faster initiation of flowering by the plant. Maintain lights off from Dec-31, 10:00 until Jan 1 - 18:45 allowing a 32hr darkness period prior to switching the light regime. Light regime is set for 12.5/11.5 on/off allowing me a better maintenance window for my living situation. Both plants are growing fast and strong, showing their genetic traits. Some shoots are going through the net already. Have started to tuck branches as they grow to fill up any gaps. Did minor defoliation on both plants near their stem base and centres. Some green algae on roots/coco medium on the surface of the pot. Have defoliated some more which hopefully helps with air circulation at the area. Will monitor over the week - may need to decrease watering frequency, although they seem to be keeping up drinking. Lowered the High Humidity setting of the extraction fan to 60% - which effectively keeps it running at least 75% of the time, and removed the humidifier. Will monitor and adjust as necessary lowering the setting to 50% in a few weeks whilst flowering. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-23 in vegetative stage. Installed the ScrOG net - Set at 20cm from the base of the plants, being 55cm from ground. The plant is showing great growth, lots of branching and new growth sprouts. A few branches are beginning to come through the net and almost all main branches are now tied down horizontally after the two recent toppings. Applied more LST and will wait for the branches to reach the net and start tucking. The AC Infinity fan is currently only running intermittently with its current settings. This seems to impact the utilisation and effectiveness of the carbon filter in use. The desired outcome is for the fan to be running for longer periods whilst in Auto config. Lowered the High Level Humidity from 70% to 60%, and more importantly, lowered the Max Speed from 4 to 2 with the intent that a lower fan speed will result in longer periods where the extraction fan is operated to remain below threshold targets for the grow space. Plant growth continues to be strong at the end of the week. Big fan leaves near the top are beginning to look a little serrated and dark, similar to the start of this grow. This may be due to the extra CalMag being added which was the issue at the start of the grow. Will keep monitoring and half the CalMag dosage on next feed. Importantly, I have learnt nutrient mixing of the CalMag should be done prior to the Canna Coco A & B. To date I have done the opposite which may explain my earlier issues. Fertigating daily at the start of the light cycle. One more week of vegetative growth before switching to flowering although I may need to switch earlier due to the vigorous growth and considering the stretch yet to come. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ................................. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Passive intake of air is from a closed off section of the room where the central heating boiler sits - the intake is warm air (20 degC.) and fairly dry (40% RH) during the winter months. - Mars Hydro SP250 LED light - extraction fan - AC Infinity Cloudline T6 - ventilation fans - aquarium heater - small oil heater - small dehumidifier - 20L Airpots and 3.5L general pots for seedling stage - Canna Coco substrate and nutrients - pH and EC/TDS meters - Thermo/Hygro meter

Can't wait for each of them to finish out. Giving them hopefully their full amount of water, less with the auto as it was stunted by the 12/12.

She's moving along at a nice pace. Bulking up while giving no real issues. Has some nice mass to her. She's a wee bit taller. And if I could redo something it would be applying HST to her after preflower. Lovely dank lemon kush smell developing. Super sticky to the touch and building a boat load of trichomes. This is my 2nd SweetSeeds grow. And I'll 100% be doing this strain again. (As I know what it's like, its being curing 45 days now). Xpert nutrients have been a gift in their application to its ease and fast results, I simply can't praise them enough. Has brought my bud quality up easily 2-3x and Increased bud quantity. Although, that's me knowing by looking at the plants. I roughly weight stuff, I know I got 1850 dry grams from 45 plants. 13-15 were 8L pots and small such as this. So, this was 1 of the biggest yeilders out of the lot.(crop is finished and burnt my way through 2/3rds of it, I've about a halfo of this for my night time smoke, while my last 6 plants from this crop have been curing 3 weeks now and will soon be smoked) biggest crop I've done. 45 plants was a feat, a real task keeping track with whos on what and using xpert nutrients made it much smoother and any slight ph mistakes or overf/under feeds didn't destroy 1 plant to the point were it was culled. Notes to follow shortly, just trying to get all the pictures up and organized !!! So on this week , the buds are fully recovered, just about ready to be chopped down ! There are some brown tips and discoloration in the leaves but that was all on purpose . I overly increased the air movement, as a result some of the leaves got some wind burn . Not an issue it will just add to the magic of the smoke . ***************************************** My White Powdery Mold solution: 1) spray Diablo nutrients Monster Wash. 2) Add a certified HEPA filter to your grow area. 3) Increase airflow, even if the plant is getting alot of wind , at this point, the positive greatly outweighs the negative. 4) PRAY 🙏 lol even if your not religious! 5) Cut off all nutrients, do this just in case you do have to do a cut down quickly that at least at the very least what is good will be white burning and flush properly. 6) Raise the PH of your soil ( via water that is above 7.0ph) I believe I got very lucky on this one just due to my ability to recognize and diagnose problems. I was not done alone it was done with the advice of mentors the years of listening the amazing nutrients I use. Last but very not least the incredible genetics of exotic seeds. Without: Diablo nutrients + Exotic seeds I would have been in a way worse situation. Hi Growers, Another week of vegetation is complete. The plants were divided into two tents to provide more space and improve airflow. 3x3 TENT HARVEST UPDATE - all four girls started from clone were harvested after trichome check of mostly cloudy with 15-20% amber (after only 42 days from switch). Harvested on 12/3 and jarred after 8 and 10 day dry times. Roughly four ounces of some really sticky and stinky buds. So, while girls were not big producers, the quality is primo! Glad I took cuttings of the G-41, Frosty Gelato, and Black Cherry Gas. These are the first additions to new mother tent. 2x2 Tent (8 clones and 1 Afgooey Auto) - During the week clones began showing signs of revegging. Should be ready to transplant by weeks end. Afgooey is just now starting to pre flower, which is completely opposite of her two sisters, which only vegged 3 weeks before going into flower. Gave her a good defoliation, since she is squatty, bushy and generally growing more like a true indica. Transferred clones and Auto to the 3x3 tent at weeks end. 2x4 Tent (French Macaron WK5F) - Dealing with huge Ph swing in an organic soil grow. Ph reading below 5. Began ph'ing at 7.0 - 7.5 to slowly adjust her back to normal. Transferred the two Afgooey Autos into 3x3 tent at weeks end. 3x3 Tent (3 Afgooey Autos WK3F & 8 clone varieties) - Transferred all three Afgooey Autos under Mars-Hydro FC-E3000 set at roughly 75% or roughly 500-600 PPFDs. Transplanted 8 clones from dixie cups to 1 gallon pots with PPFDs roughly 300-400. Ph'd and watered autos and clones.

she grew up very well in her last week fel process of vegetation to flowering ... it measures 120 cm ... I am happy for her ... she has only fed herself with tap water ... and hope that she gives us something good in the future outdoor ....

First of all sorry for not showing you all the transplant of this beauty, My phone freaking died and couldn't be able to film the process of this plant, I'm very sad about it, but anyways we gotta keep working, so this lady has been Transplanted on day 39 just like her sister and she will be fed with the complete biotabs organic line, I've prepared the 15L pot adding 25G for every 5L of soil of startrex then sprinkled a few mycotrex grams on the planting hole, and once the transplant was done I added 3 biotabs slow release tabs and then just watered with 1g of bactrex and 1ml of orgatrex per liter of water, the plant looks absolutely beautiful, let's see how she develops, one thing is sure, she won't be hungry at all!

This week could not have gone any better. Shiba Inu went through the roof, as it should. 'Dog coins is greats', we all know this by now and should be the only logic when selecting crypto's. Then came another nice surprise: My 6th place price for best diary came in. @FastBuds had already sent it, thanks to Heather and the Fastbudsteam. What a great company they are and can't wait to try the free seeds they send me too. I selected Mimosa Cake, Bruce Banner, Forbidden Runtz, and since they didn't have the t-shirt in my size (that's right, big boy here), I was allowed to select an extra strain: Green Crack. Thanks again to all the people at FastBuds for being an awesome company! 😘 Well finally I have fixed all the stress, what they needed was apparently some good old BioBuds Super Soil love... You guys need to check out my recipe on the germination page. This is some awesome shit even for younger plants. I think I nailed it with only European ingredients, to match Master Mark and Subcools recipes. You can clearly see how the transplant only made them better instead of further stressing the plants. I'm so happy. With one or two weeks delay, finally, we are underway. The FIM I did last week did not hold so fimmed her again, I think I might have been too careful. But now the light (still many thanks to @MarsHydroLED, hook 'em up for a great discount on your SP-3000 or other light) and the soil are proving to be a great team in even recovering stressed and hurt plants. The climate in the tent could be a little moister but for now, I'll mist just the plants to keep the gnat problem at bay. The gnat problem seems over by just spraying all the topsoil with a solution of 5 tablespoons of citric acid in a liter of water. Just a fine mist covering most of the topsoil kills the larvae and sticky traps and a bowl of vinegar with some dish soap did the rest.
