Strain: Chocolate Haze (Royal Queen Seeds) Medium: Coco bricks (Action budget bricks – hell yeah 💰) Light cycle: 12/12 from seed Grow Style: No training, no stress – just flow Grow Medium Prep: 500L of coco – never again in one go 😅 The Kickoff 🚀 This run started off wild and direct – no veg time, straight into 12/12 with Chocolate Haze. I wanted a quick turnaround and thought, hey, why wait? I germinated 14 seeds, hoping for at least 9 strong ladies. Ended up with 11 survivors – not bad! First few weeks were a bit chaotic: stretching due to low light (I tucked the seedlings under mature plants, which I do not recommend 😆), and the coco prep took way longer than expected. But hey, that's the game. Early Veg/Bloom — Lessons Learned pH: Started a bit high; some light green leaves at first EC: Too low at 1.3 — they weren't having it. Upped to 1.7 and then to 2.1 later Environment: New extractor dropped temps way down (25°C vs my usual 30°C). Thought it would help, but growth felt slower Coco quirks: They looked overwatered at times, but coco is tricky like that. Eventually, roots hit the bottom and they took off Around mid-March (3 weeks in), pistils showed up – officially the start of flower. I topped them once just before full bloom kicked in. Always a strange move, cutting healthy plants... but they bounced back beautifully. Nice and bushy now. Week 2–5 Flowering 🌸 These ladies are small but mighty. Not tall, but full of energy. The canopy is tight and even (except for one shorty), and they've been stretching like crazy — classic sativa move. Had to raise the lights twice in two days. I’ll probably do some defoliation soon to slow things down a bit. Environment is now dialed in: Temp: 30°C with lights on RH: Holding nicely in that humid sweet spot CO₂: Set to 500ppm (passive mostly, no full-on enrichment) Feeding is now solid, color has recovered beautifully, and the buds are starting to form nice stacks. I’ve kept it low-stress — no nets, no heavy training, just letting them do their thing. Observations & Setup Tweaks 🔧 Ventilation: Running the fan at just 30% now. Tent takes 18 seconds to vacuum seal, which tells me airflow is minimal – less CO₂ loss. CO₂ System: Minimal usage at 500 ppm. I’m not going all-out with gas bottles; it’s just there as a buffer. Structure: These Chocolate Haze plants don’t get tall, but they do fill out nicely. Perfect for a space where height is limited. Auto side note: One of the autos in the same tent is way taller, but less dense. Makes me appreciate the Chocolate Haze structure even more. Current Status (April 17) 📆 We’re deep into flower now — week 5, and it shows. Buds are swelling and resin production is kicking in. Nothing major to report (which is kind of the point of this grow — set and forget). Just a slight dry issue with one auto, which I adjusted on the Blumats. Besides that? Happy plants, happy grower. 🌞 Check the latest pics — they speak for themselves. Final Thoughts (So Far) 💭 This Chocolate Haze grow has been chill, efficient, and surprisingly hands-off. The direct 12/12 schedule really works when you're going for a fast cycle with minimal hassle. And even though I’m usually more into hybrids, this sativa-dominant lady is winning me over — the structure, the vigor, the smell… mmm. Now we wait for the real magic — the last few weeks of flower. Really happy with how she’s turning out with massive bulking in this last stretch! GC is an amazing strain that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for something very unique! Flushes are all done and we have about a week or two left, trichomes are all still very clear under the microscope want to wait for some borderline ambering before I chop her.

I put the plants into an NFT system couple weeks ago. I could have waited a bit longer for the plants to develop a stronger root system before placing the rockwool cubes into NFT but I was being impatient because of the slow start and wanted to get the plants under proper light. Now two weeks later they are growing well with good root development. I switched the lights to flowering cycle about a week ago so they should start stretching soon. No preflowers yet.

Week 8 of flower is in the books and this show is quickly coming to an end. I said last week we had about 7-10 days and I was spot on at the 10 day mark. I was only wrong about the order. The cheese is ready to chop before the rest and the gorilla cookies, cherry Bomb and lemon haze will follow in due course. The cheese is a beast and it’ll take a little time to get it all run through the bowl trimmer. At least the big one goes first. Her tallest colas have foxtailed like mar, despite the late supercrop. You can tell where the sweet spot for the light is at about 10” distance from the canopy. Any closer than that and the tails begin to show prominently. It’s a good example of just how close you can get to these fixtures with a little bit of prior experience. It’s been noted for the next run😎👍😎. The res. is on an h2o2 only flush for the remainder until the rest are ready to come down. Not a moment too soon either - the pollen chucking project has stalled out waiting for these girls to finish and now that we’ll have a little extra room, we can start running our cuts in the aerocloner🤟. Not long at all now folks. Thanks for tagging along through all this. Learned a bunch about this system and we’re back to hardware mode to make some serious improvements for the next run🤙😎. I love hardware mode😉. Background/Repetitive Nonsense The strain line up on this grow is look’n quite saucy 😈. We’ve got 2 FB strains this time around - Gorilla Cookies (seems we always have some GSC cross in the works). Mainly because the colours look stellar and remind me of a sugar breathe we did last year that was 🔥. The other FB is their original Cheese strain... because we already smoked all our cheese... and we really like our cheese...😉. Emerald triangle was kind enough to include a freebie of Lemon Haze. Wasn’t really big on the list but we haven’t done a haze strain to write home about yet so worth a go👍. The last is a Cherry auto from Bomb seeds that we’ve been trying to get to for months. Let’s just hope that she’s not a dud like the last bean. The new digs for this run are courtesy MarsHydro👊. Their 2x4 single grow tent, paired with a shiny new 240w QB courtesy ViparSpectra. These folks were kind enough to discuss a collaboration and as a result, here we are to test out the gear with an inaugural run of autos. Each week, we’ll try to expand on some of the benefits of each, as well as any limiting factors or considerations that need attention when pondering purchase. Already I can say that both are high quality products in terms of overall craftsmanship. MarsHydro 2x4 Grow Tent: Excellent construction in terms of durability. Reinforced stitching on the zippers and corners ensures zero tearing. Conveniently placed screen vents and intake/exhaust ports. The ceiling exhaust port only exists on the right side. Perfect for me but not great if you’re running exhaust from the top on the left side (left side wall port makes up for this however). The aluminum frame is rigid enough to support the weight of the lights and accessories. Once you have some weight in the tent, she’s go’n nowhere and you can assemble and break it down in record time if moving or stashing the grow op. Only limiting factors I’ve noticed is that temp. Control will be an issue for a tent. It just doesn’t have the same insulating ability as a wood cabinet or other permanent enclosed space. No worries, this is offset by a small desktop heater and keeps the environment exactly where desired. The other issue was a production problem - the ceiling vent was accidentally stitched into the corner seams on the assembly line. Again, no real issue - just pulled it out with no damage or fraying to the tent or port👍. Closest comparable to it that I’ve seen would be spiderfarmers line of qbs. They feature the same top-o-the-line components and roughly similar spectrums. Where VS takes the advantage is in the convenience of the dimmer nob which is easily accessible and works great at 50% with no strobing👍. The heat sink is also larger which contributes to lower temps. That’s not a good thing in my case but beneficial for most folks. I can already say that this will be a great fixture through all stages of growth. Where I know this light will excel will be in the veg. Stage for sure. Dimming function gives seedlings a much better chance of success with the ability to use lower lighting levels early on and the coverage area on a 240w is great. The average grower will find this panel suitable and fitting to their needs in a 2x4 grow space although I’d suggest 2 units if going any larger than that. The total output in this space equates to about 30w/sq.ft. Which is a decent amount of coverage based on power vs. Growprint. Ideal for veg. Certainly but, in flower - I tend to run closer to 50-60w/sq.ft to achieve higher yields. Again, similar fixtures have performed admirably in the past and while this wouldn’t be considered an “entry-level” fixture, I’d recommend that any grower new to the game not skimp on lighting and start with one of these. The price points are a great value for quality LED tech. These days, so there’s little reason to even consider a lesser fixture👍. I have no detail on limiting factors for this light as yet but have heard that stock branded fixtures don’t necessarily incorporate enough red diodes. I’ve seen no issue myself but confess - I’m no lighting guru. Hey everyone 😀. On flowering day 59 both came into the darkroom and on flowering day 61 both were harvested :-). Both were very easy to trim 👍. Both of them already smell very tasty but more on the last update because this is only the short intermediate update :-). The trimmed buds were laid out on nets so that they can now dry at 62% humidity for 8-14 days before fermenting with 62% boveda packs in the jars :-). This plant was an absolute dream to. Grow, no issues at all with health of plant, just struggled to tame her as she was a a thick strong climber 💪💪. I'm so impressed with how this turned out, I could have flushed for another 3 days to make it 12days but I needed the space. After The 2 days of dark I was recommended I can definitely say it has vastly boosted her trichomes and the smell when I opened the tent blew my head away 😍😋 Aiming for a 10-14 day hang dry, The 10-12 weeks curing in jars with humidity packs. I will update with a dry bud weight and smoke test 👌 Bud wet weight is just 500g+ Final bud dry weight is 298g. Of juicy resinous purple and orange buds 😍 smells like sherbert and hang dry smoke test revealed a candy sherbert, no banana yet but hoping like the grow it matures with cure process now. Hits eyes straight away, sandy bottom kids, giggles, munchies, fun time with Mrs, bed. Wow! This strain has impressed me so much. She is stinking the place out with her ice cream smell and is covered trichomes. Very happy to grow this strain and I’ll definitely try again. Hopefully she will be finished in 2-3 weeks as this girl will require much patience as she looks and smells great haha Happy growing 🤙🏿

Have been overfeeding these little lady's. Giving them some ph adjusted tap water to flush any excess nutes out of their systems. You can see some unusual growth at the newer most leaves. (Not the typical 5 tipped leaf like you should be seeing.) From what I understand this is a sign of too much nitrogen in my plants. Other than that these girls are holding up well. And I'll be cloning some of the strongest phenotype for a friend soon. 😉🌿

iSorin 🔥 From Beanpatchseeds.com (HFTCS)x May-trix I got 2 different phenotypes from these ladies. Both smelling like oranges 🍊 and pure gas! Let's me tell you she is a real treat! Full.of resin and like oils putting off a great scent wanting you to come back for more.
