Well the end stretch is here, these girls just keep packing on the weight, and now with another feeding from my fish tank, this should push them to finish.

Finally flipped and HOLY MOLY is it awesome to start seeing the flowers coming in for the first time on your first grow. Super delayed flip to flower and I am manually switching the lights/opening tent every day due to prioritized spending. BIG HUMIDITY PROBLEM. As I have still not hooked up an outtake fan for the tent I don't see my girls surviving past the next couple weeks so hopefully I can get that figured out. I'll open it up to 95% RH by morning and it sits around 60% even with an open tent. Other than that, I'm happy with the bud sites gained from my first ever grow. Just feeling my way through Topping, Fim, SCROG, and LST was fun a rewarding for sure. Just have to make sure they reach the finish line. TUES: Cleaned tent floor and walls with disinfectant wipes, seemed to get rid of the smell so far. Still worried about the humidity in the closed tent during the dark period. Need a duct fan hardcore before the buds start coming in. The first sight of trichs already sent me into a Powdery Mildew panic. 😱 THURS: Humidity break. Down in the 45% range and have been able to keep it in the 80s with a huge bowl of dried pasta in the tent lmao no coffee whitener or rice on hand 😒 Defoliation of light blockers and bunch ups to improve the airflow in the canopy. I'm hoping the UV lights in my LED set up are enough to keep mildew at bay and can get the dark period RH% down before buds fatten and there is risk for rot.

Another smooth week with the continued issues ive previously addressed. Trichomes are multiplying and buds have grown some. With the dehumidifier running pretty much constantly, it has bypassed my carbon filter. (I have my dehumidifier extract from outside the so I'm not adding additional, unwanted, heat.) Smell is very evident within the entire room. Final week of feeding and I have turned my reds down to 50%. Took trichome shots for fun around the front of the plant.

This one is such a beasts. It keeps growing and it's so bushy. Cutted some leaves to get more airflow because i saw one leaf with mold on another plant. Startet with the "more grams"

10-18 Water. Let her dry out a bit. Seems i got heavy handed. Ugg. Lifting pots from here out! Seems she a little mad at me, but still holds course. 10-19 This am, burn and yellowish. From over feed and water. Flushed, uggg 1213 ppm to 550ish Full dry backs. Uggggg. Hated to flush since I just watered. But just got it done, before more burn. Should be ok. 🤞

The tent smells good 😊. 8/2 The goal is to have 6-9" through the scrog at the end of week 3 flower I'm pretty close the taller ones are 6-7" through the scrog now. 8/3 took 7cuttings from Acid Dough "C" for clones. 8/5 could be more level but I'm happy. 8/6 another round of defoliating lots of branches just below the canopy opened them up.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be is measured in decisions, not dreams. Dopamine release is not the pursuit of happiness; it's the happiness of the pursuit. "Mens Dei" Cannabis buds can expand or swell in warmer conditions, but this is not necessarily a desirable effect. High temperatures can cause the buds to become airy and loose, reducing their density and potentially impacting potency and aroma. First 4 weeks flower, blazing hot expansion of buds, 4 weeks after cool off? Why?? What can be made to expand, airy and loose, can also be made to contract, dense and tight. Why? Trichomes do not discriminate, although we like to think of trichomes' primary purpose as being to get us high; they are there to provide photoprotection (sunscreen). Trichomes apply themselves based on area dimensions; the more area = the more trichomes in order to protect. Different from density: Trichomes, the resinous glands on plants, are often produced in response to stress, including high light intensity. This increased production can lead to denser trichome coverage on the plant, stress, stress, stress, stress is the signal. There is a certain beauty in watching the large water-filled buds once swollen to the brim slowly shrink during drying, as the surface areas contract, the trichomes just cluster up to form denser and denser coatings, already dense from high light intensities, UVB exposure, and IPS, and every other stressor I could tweak. Trichomes, the resinous glands on cannabis plants, are often produced in response to various forms of stress. These stresses can be environmental, like excess light(HIL) or UV-B radiation, temperature fluctuations, or drought, or mechanical, such as wind, pruning, or even the weight of the plant's own buds. The plant reacts to these stressors by increasing trichome production as a defensive mechanism to protect itself and its valuable compounds like THC and CBD. In essence, cannabis plants perceive stress as a threat and respond by producing more trichomes as a way to protect themselves and their valuable compounds. Several studies have shown this. Not so much a "master" grower as a master of stress. Psssst. Tip. Trichomes fill with "antioxidants," including THC. Ant"ox"idants, The production of antioxidants in plants is intricately linked to their oxidative apparatus. The plant has limited oxidative capacity/apparatus. During daytime photosynthesis, a large percentage of that oxidative capacity is tied up in protecting the plant. During the night, plants alter their metabolic pathways. This leads to a far more focused production of specific antioxidants, like THC. Plants also produce antioxidants during the day. Excess light, for example, can trigger the production of excess antioxidants as part of their defense mechanisms against reactive oxygen species (ROS). The differential ROS production by blue and IR light can have significant biological consequences. For example, high levels of ROS induced by blue light can lead to cell damage and death, while lower levels of ROS produced by IR light may be involved in beneficial cellular signaling pathways. Long nights under the IR (very low ROS), the boost in cellular respiration, and the boost in energy production. In a perfect world, I'd give the plant a shock treatment of 60DLI in 4 hours and give her the other 20 hours to perform cellular respiration under IR. The stress of those 4 hours would be rigorous and full of stress abound, 1800-2000ppm CO2 is easy for a couple of hours during daylight, it's maintaining it that's hard, but 4 hours is very doable with nothing but a little extra "carbon sugar" in your medium every other night during the first 4 weeks of flower. In my opinion, you only need to jack CO2 for those first 4 weeks of flower to see maximal output, after that it's all about trichome preservation, everything else comes second. Without the temps to assist with metabolism, CO2 is reduced to normal levels along with temps 4-5th week of flower. Buds are primarily composed of water. Developing flower buds, like other plant tissues, require a significant amount of water for growth and turgor pressure, which helps maintain their structure and firmness. Turgor pressure in plant cells is primarily generated by osmosis, but transpiration plays a crucial role in maintaining it. The optimal internal leaf surface temperature for photosynthesis at 1800-2000ppm CO2 is likely in the upper range of 97°F, meaning ambient would need to sit at 102°F-ish or thereabout for full metabolic utilization. That's putting your transpirational pulling force x5 x6 maybe x7 of what it would be if she were cruising at 68F. "My buds won't fatten, what can I do!!" Crank that bitch. If your purpose was to blow up a balloon as fast as you can, as much as you can, would you use 2x force or x5 Force to do so? Bad analogy, but you get the idea. Kiss. Optimize photosynthesis & VPD by day, cellular respiration by night. TECHNICALLY: "While transpiration and cellular respiration are both ongoing plant processes, they are not neatly separated into day and night. Both processes occur both day and night, though at different rates and with different emphasis. Transpiration, the release of water vapor from plant surfaces, is primarily driven by sunlight and photosynthesis during the day, but it also continues at a lower rate at night. Cellular respiration, which provides energy for the plant, occurs continuously, both day and night. " BUT Only 10% ATP can be processed through photosynthesis and carbon capture. 90% of ATP is processed when the plant's oxidative capacity becomes available (NIGHTTIME). Cellular respiration relies on the process of oxidation to generate energy. Specifically, the final stage of cellular respiration, called oxidative phosphorylation, utilizes oxygen as the final electron acceptor to produce a substantial amount of ATP, the cell's primary energy currency. Several environmental factors can hinder cellular respiration in plants. These include low oxygen levels, temperature extremes (both too high and too low), humidity, water stress, and the presence of toxins. These factors can impair the function of enzymes involved in respiration, disrupt the availability of substrates, or directly damage plant tissues, thus reducing the rate of cellular respiration. Factors such as oxygen concentration, glucose availability and temperature will all impact the amount of aerobic respiration an organism will perform. Watering has increased for this young one to grow and access readily available nutrients. I might be topping her as well considering how tight of a structure she has.

😎Week 3 8/2- Here we go into week three and I'm looking to see some explosive growth happening in the tent soon!😃 The girls are all running 2 1/2" to 4" in height with the Seedsman Gelato OG's and FastBuds Purple Lemonade currently kicking all the others butts!💪 Gave a good watering this morning 2hrs after lights on with non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.4. I plan on maintaining that watering schedule from here on out. I refilled the humidifier with non-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.5. Love the new setup with the two HLG quantum boards, 4 plants per light, and currently running at 400w per light. I'm looking forward to some record yields with this new setup using these 650R's! Temp's/RH/VPD are where they need to be at this point with daytime temp's maxing @ 83 Deg F/ nighttime @ 68 Deg F, RH @ 55%, VPD @ 9.0😀 8/3- Started compost tea last night, ingredients were; 5g de-clorinated 7.0ph water & 5tbsp unsulfured molasses, 4 cups worm castings, 1 cup alfalfa meal, 1 cup kelp meal, 2tbsp bat guano, 1 scoop Great White mycorrhiza and 3tbsp Neptunes Harvest seaweed extract which were added after the air was turned on and the 'bag' was in the bucket. I fimmed the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #2 and Seedsman Gelato OG #1, LST'd the FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 & #2, and the Seedsman Zkittles #1. Whilst doing all that I noticed my old friends the fungus gnats so I immediately placed sticky traps in all pots....little bastards! I went online and ordered Nematoads who will have a field day with the gnats! The girls all got watered in from the top and bottom with de-chlorinated straight water ph'd to 6.6 @ 76deg 225ppm, lights still @ 36" above the soil and running @ 400w each.😎 8/4- Gave the girls compost tea for breakfast. The tea had brewed for 38hrs., had 854ppm and ph'd @ 7.1...PERFECT! I split 4g of the tea between the eight ladies @ 1/2 gallon each. I also topped the FastBuds Crystal Meth #2 and Seedsman Gelato OG #2 and checked and adjusted LST on all. Temp's, RH, and VPD all on point with the girls are showing it! 8/5- Soil felt moist so skipping water today and will feed early AM. All the ladies have taken on a deeper shade of green and are really starting to take off since receiving the compost tea yesterday and they'll be going crazy by the end of this week going into week four. The FastBuds Crystal Meth #1 & #2 are both showing early flowering signs already and are starting to get some purple coloration in new growth which looks natural, not a deficiency. I topped the FastBuds Purple Lemonade #1 and Seedsman Zkittles #1 and checked/adjusted LST on all. 8/6- Gave a good watering this morning with 4g of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.8, went through, and tucked leaves on all the girls to keep exposing lower bud sites to the light so that we have a nice even canopy for flower! All the girls have either been topped, fimmed or LST'd at this point and all I'll be doing from here on out is tucking leaves and possibly some very minor defoliation if needed, 8/7- All the girls look very happy this morning and are starting to get ready for that stretch at the beginning of flower. The FastBuds Crystal Meth's are the shortest, along with the Seedsman Zkittles #1 and the CM's are already showing pistils but I'm not declaring that they're in 'flower' quite yet. 8/8- Gave all the ladies a good water in this morning with .5g each of de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.9 @ 76deg. Went over all the girls and tucked shade leaves to expose bud sites, removed a couple of the ones that couldn't be tucked, and were blocking numerous bud sites. I also continued with LST on all bending branches outward to expose them to more of that HLG 650R goodness!

So , if you look back to her beginning, she started off really good in terms of growth 👍 but she had horrific internode branching😡 , even going into week 6 she wouldn't even show her sex even when put on a 12 / 12 , so just to on the safe side I had know choice but to chop her 💀 Sad ...... very sad 😭 👉Oh well growmies , fortunately I have other diaries and plants on the go👈 Until next time .........
