Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Day 45 17/08/24 Saturday Another watering today using de-chlorinated tap water pH 6 only. Lemon skittles and XXL ammo are tall, bud nice and smelly plants! Sadly I had to make an emergency harvest. I had 2-3 weeks left but lucky it was flushing. The total from both plants was 77g so I’m happy, it much to say atp and in the end I did what I needed to do 💪🏽💯 • • • Frostbanger- 33g • • Mystery- 44g • • • Stay tuned 🤞🏽 4h02o 🍀

13. Woche, BW 7. Omakase gehts gut, lässt sich ein bissel mehr Zeit als die anderen aber sieht trotzdem gut aus und riecht sehr interessant, fruchtig/beerig mit nem Teebaum/Kiefer artigen Abgang. Ansonsten trink sie ordentlich und wurde noch etwas auseinander gezogen mit sehr leichtem LST.

Trip out of town to check on Buddy (As now named by the helper). Plant looked good on arrival but rather a lot of yellow leaves with the nice looking buds. I removed some of the shaded yellow fan leaves and sprayed the rest with Gaia Green soluble seaweed extract as a foliar spray. Also crushed in one calcium citrate pill. The remaining 0.5 L was watered onto the soil. Within half an hour you could see the green colour coming back to the leaves. Amazing revival trick it seems. After giving that some time which lets the potassium do its thing, I then fed it a final round of nutrients in pHed water (molasses, Big Bud, calcium citrate and Epsom salts). K followed by Ca and Mg. Planning to just use water for next two weeks. It is looking really nice. I had topped it several times during vegetation and consequently there were too many branches/colas happening. Removed four small ones as testers. Tied branches to cage to provide support and resilience against wind (see videos). Also placed logs to buttress the base so it won’t tip over in a strong wind. It was good to see Buddy again and I’ll check in her again soon.

Not much to say at the minute but Candyman is looking happy, I really hope they are female now 🤞🏻 added a small amount of Nutrients and already seems to be loving it and getting bigger daily 😍

Week 3 flowering for the Green Papaya from the super sativa seeds club. All looking good at the moment, the buds are showing a nice layer of snow on the buds, very sweet and fruity, we love the Green Papaya. We did a complete defoliation already and will do some maintenance here and there.

Week 6 of flower is done and the 4x4 is progressing nicely! The buds are all starting to fatten up, I'm especially loving Hella Jelly #1, especially the candy terps she's giving off. The Vanilla Frosting is the other big player in the tent, with the second Hella Jelly a bit smaller than the other two. The Jelly Donutz will be the last to be harvested, as she is developing her flowers more slowly. This tent will be a staggered harvest when it comes to it. These plants have been so easy to grow this run. The Autopot Tray2Grow living soil bed bed has been solid throughout the run, and this past week I installed Blumat Blusoak tape for the 2x4 Grassroots bed, which, up until this point, I have been hand watering. It always amazes me how automatic watering eliminates like 90% of the tent work. It is such a game changer, and the plants love it even more than hand watering because they drink how much they want when they want it! Hella Jelly is supposed to be a fast finisher (45 days sometimes!), so after this next week I will begin checking trichomes. My guess is another 2-3 weeks at least. The trichomes will guide me! Plants aren't growing very fast and roots were kind of slimy. I found that my reservoir temps were getting high so I began to use frozen water bottles to cool the reservoir.

FBT 2401 is sprouted and doing well. This was the second seed. I forgot to water the first seed, and it was too late by the time I got to it. This was my mistake. This seedling is doing good though. She has Athena blended line nutrition in the solution waiting for her. Noting else to report at the moment. British Delight - Wizard Trees Day 48 - Watered with 2L of RO tap water with nutrients mixed individually and in order, then finally pH'd to 6.3. She is still in her stretching phase, so I haven't done much with her yet. The topping I performed on her a week or so before I put her into flower, has allowed her to grow a nice even canopy with six distinct stems. When she finishes her stretch, I will lollipop her and defoliate to improve both light penetration and airflow 👍🏻

Finally over the hump! I think. All my ladies are doing much better all new growth seems to be really healthy and all the plants are taking off. I feel like I lost around a week with my issues, however im praying 🙏 that these babies will get tall enough to produce a decent harvest. I have so much more to learn.
