Romping through flowering!! Still mega bushy!!! Her trichomes are JUST starting. Looking good so far!

another uneventful week. the girl is still creating nodes like crazy ... she is growing sideways rather than rushing for the lights. i raised the lights higher to about 12" from the top of the leaves. i also changed the nutrients from a seedling recipe to an early growth stage recipe that is richer in nitrogen with a higher ec 1.2. i also got to see the roots for the first time, they are looking really nice - white and fuzzy. i made the main nutrient tank more permanent and relocated the used nutrient and fresh nutrient tanks in their own chamber so, it's even easier to do manual nutrient changes (1 container in and 1 container out sort thing). later on, in the week, i noticed the main roots showing a little discoloration, not sure if i should be concerned about this, but she looks healthy.. it was fun using the doser again as i really hate mixing chem's since my days in chemistry labs. looking forward to new aggressive growth this week.

Entering the 8th week and she is really doing fantastically! When compared to the first Black Jack I grew, with just LST, the differences are clear and impressive. The bud sites are easily 4 times as much. She is almost as tall as the first one was when I harvested her, and she is still only just beginning to flower. More stable and way easier to maintain after the mainlines are established. Super impressed and happy with the results and will absolutely utilize this technique more in future. Great results and super excited to see how big she gets to finish budding. All great things. Cheers

Welcome to my Fast Buds sponsored shootout and living organic soil v coco side by side. I also plan to use this grow to my full advantage regarding a few age old nagging questions about methods. I have had a keen interest in L.O.S ( supersoil) since reading a few threads a while back on how amazing and productive it can be. After too much research and procrastinating I had to give it a go. I have been a decades coco/nft grower and recently threw my hat in the rdwc ring too. I have avoided soil due to the overwatering worry ( heavy handed chimp brain !) and the best potting soil/feeds. Catching up on the advances in indoor soil gardening and organics led me too subcools supersoil recipes to name a few but being a town dweller with farms everywhere around me still drew blanks on a lot of the ingredients needed and where the hell I could even begin to get them from. Thankfully , commercial savvy has now made buying it in ready to use and with a full range of beneficial bacteria ect available in amendments from a grow shop here in the uk. ecothrive have realised the potential for us to dive into this medium with all the mixing , measuring and resourcing. I bit the bullet and £150 later I now have 4 x37Litre pots that will be used for as long as I want to feed the soil for without EVER needing nutrients again potentially. The coco has also had charge mixed in to encourage the bennies to colonize there too. I will be using the shogun nutes that I know do the business with coco to compare with for yield , growth and taste. I have 3 seeds each of 4 Fast Buds Strains to use as a control for the grow and am journaling each strain in their own diaries. This statement will be used to start each one as the information is identical at this point but following this I will do them individually. I am now starting their second week since opening the seed packets , straight into soaked and shook root riot cubes and into the heated propagator. They had all showed their heads by end of day 3 and a couple needed helmet surgery to open up without being hindered . I have has them in the prop for a few days but they needed to get settled as they were popping roots out all over the cubes. They have now been in their final pots for 2 days complete and starting their 3rd today at day 8 since planting in cubes. I am impressed with the speed and success of these girls already (12 of 13 germinated) . Well done fast buds. So here we go folks , any comments , ideas ,questions , advice are always welcome and I hope we can have some fun experimenting with defol v non defol , topping v fimming v bending and any other curiosities along the way. Le 4 piante di Red hot cookies si sono dimostrate veramente forti. Colori stupendi a fine fioritura, non rossi come speravo, profumo di terra, dolcezza e aspro mescolati con note di gas, un profilo terpenico molto interessante. Lo scrog effettuato da me, non credo abbia dato il massimo potenziale di queste piante, con il tempo migliorerò anche questo aspetto, ma spero di stare su 1 hg a pianta di media. Aggiornamento a breve con peso a secco, foto dei fiori ripuliti e rapporto sulla potenza di questa varietà. 3/4- Last few weeks have went well. Not much to say besides she was chugging along and beefing up nicely. She has some pretty long colas and a good bunch of them. Thank you very much Seedsman for the opportunity. This is a beast of a plant, being in a 2 gallon pot and getting the size it has. She has a few weeks left still. She is getting overdrive now and will be flushed for the last two weeks. Will start to flush when her trichomes are all milky and most of the hairs have turned and shriveled. I will update as she progresses. Happy growing to everyone! 3/8- Everything is fattening up. Bud is solid, sticky and stinky. Has some huge long colas. Can't wait to see the total of all the plants. First 8 weeks of their lives, they were under the Mars hydro tsw 2000 and now they are under a new brand, Szchlux 400. It's kickass. Have it 3 1/2 feet above my plants and they are praying. Showing signs that they are getting some extreme photons It's a truly amazing light for the price. Can't wait to see how it does full cycle. Using it with the Mars hydro to cover the 4×8 room I built. It's more than I need for veg and will be great for flowering! Until next time happy growing to everyone!

30 days since flip day Almost half of the expected flowering time have passed. They look and are doing fabulous - despite of me making some mistakes. They are a little overfed now and the soil pH dropped to 5. I did corrective watering with high pH and Athena Cleanse (mild hypochlorous acid) - should help remediate the lockout I got them into. One started loosing bottom leaves so I need to act fast. Hope it helps. Probably next watering will be higher than normal pH also to stabilize it at higher levels. The Sugar Cane name seems to be SUPER ACCURATE. I did never saw the breeder or gorewers report this trait for this strain - but it is literally a sugar cane. The stems are covered with trichomes. And yeah - thats normal, I know. But not like that. Top 1/3 length of each stem is stisky like a bud. Covered in full grown capitate-stalked trichomes with huge heads. 🤯🤯🤯 This is crazy. Both of my Sugar Cane have those. I have never even hear of such trait and boom - two plants at once.

So ready to harvest and dry those already, but must be patient. They are getting close but not quite ripe yet. They are taking a little longer than I expected, But at least they are continuing to swell up.

2/26 to 3/03 Veg Days 8 to 14 Week 2 Not much to talk about here. They took to the soil as expected with no issues. Feed this week was 2 cups of 6.3ph RO water twice with 4 days between and 4 days after the last feed. Feed plan next week will increase the amounts to 2.5 cups of plain-no-nute water with about 4 days between feeds. I still want to see the water run through, so if I need to use more than 2.5 cups I will. The idea is to water deep and through, but then make them search for more before the next feed, hopefuly spreading the roots out while doing it.

Transplanted them to there final pots, using fabric pots btw. Still using ffof soil to avoid transplant shock. Almost one hour after transplant they started drooping a little which I figured is normal. Letting them grow for one week then flipping them to flowering. Only watered them with distilled water with 2.25 mg of calmag with pH of 6.5
