Fo' Twenny Back with another update on our "Grandaddy Purple" from Blimburn Seeds! 8/24: I did some selective defoliation to help increase light penetration. Next watering will be a flush with 2 tsp/gal of Fox Farm's flush agent SledgeHammer. A flush is recommended after week 3 in the Fox Farm Feeding chart. I figure the recommended flush will do some good considering I have a lot of coco in the mix and there are small amounts of salt fertilizer in my schedule. She is really starting to do some stretching and she has an abundance of growing shoots. She has a few leaves that look textured or "crinkled". I tried doing some searches and not sure if this is due to a virus or some other factor. She is center in the tent and the only plant being grown in a fabric pot. She has also been vegging longer than any of the other plants in the garden. She was a survivor from previous run when I almost killed all my plants (did kill one) trying to kill so spider mites. This is the only plant presenting these abnormalities. I gave a lot of detail about the abnormal leaves because I am hoping someone may be able to help me troubleshoot. 8/28: Flushed the medium with tap H2O run through 2 KDF filters with 2 tsp/gal of Fox Farm Sledgehammer flushing agent and pH adjusted to 6.2. I started by giving 5 gallons. After checking the PPM of the runoff I ended up adding 5 more gallons mixed to same specifications. 10 gallons total was shared by 3 large flowering photoperiod cultivars and 1 smaller autoflower. She probably ended up with about 3 gallons give or take. I didn't measure how much each plant received. I just kept flushing each and checking runoff until it was under 1600 ppm. This week I stuck with plain water, cause you can see burns on the ends of the leafs and some yellow ones on the bottom. Now runoff is just around 1000ppm vs 2000ppm in the start of the week and I'm going to feed she in the beginning of next week.

The fungus gnats are getting a little better. To bad they already did a lot of damage. Plants 3 and 4 have now caught up in height with plants 1 and 2 which are a month older. The buds and plants 3 and 4 are way bigger too. Flowers are starting!!! Loving it!! Defoliated at the end of the week.

Love everything about this plant will be training better on the next run see if can improve the yield overall easy enough to grow would recommend this is a different strain than what im use to got a nice taste of its own lovinf the rqs strains at the minute .made some bubble hash from the trim and popcorn buds got 25.6 gram of it from ,3 plants and put a vid n few pics of the process on thanks fot following thid journey with me thanks for reading happy growing guys0

Good bit of growth this week, plenty of bud sites forming and she is drinking alot of juice. I think she is doing really height wise, I only vegged for 4 weeks to keep her height appropriate and I don't want her to stretch too much towards the light so she's growing accordingly. I accidentally split the topped stem during transport when I forgot she was attached to the grow bag but she seems fine and getting on with it. As soon as all the budsites have formed I'm going to defoliate and get some light on them lower budsites and make her focus on growing some nice colas. Next time I will leave the LST on until about now cos she's straightened up a lot and it's a bit more crowded lower down than I would have liked. Day 58 of flower, and I've officially started the flush! Overall, I'm really happy with how things are looking, but I’m a bit gutted about all the larf below that isn’t getting good light. A lot of the lower growth is going to end up as cookies, but it’s a lesson learned! Next time, I’ll be more aggressive with removing small, weak branches and focusing on the main colas. I’m also planning to flip around day 40 of veg while they’re still small since this Gorilla Glue stretches like crazy once it hits flower, Excited to see how these buds ripen over the next week and the colors they bring!

Weekly SST with kelp foliar, rest in 5l with 1.2l of super8 tea & sprinkle of potash through drip No problem what so ever this grow, Noticed after applying UV more frequently and for longer period it brings out purple in my plant , proof is after removing tie of a branch it was nice and green under while rest of the stem purple . Also purple on the tips of the leaves. Probably running low on nitrogen so ordered blood , bone & fish meal , got 44-0-0 Prilled urea but that’s not organic so to say and only for emergency use

Today the week is not complete, but I decided to write a report. Today I switched the plants to flowering, this is a significant day, from which we will start counting the weeks of flowering. But over the past 4 days, I will show you a timelapse of my wild animals, and share the problems)) Let's start sharing: 1. Both of my bushes seem to have been overexposed to veg, they are very large for my growbox. The problem is that I was greedy and wanted the right bush to catch up with the left, but this did not happen. 2. The left bush started to show a lack of P&K, I attribute it entirely to the supply of co2, my fertilizers are not designed for the supply of co2. I added the missing chemicals to the irrigation system, and everything seemed to be fixed. 3. After installing the gas supply system, I added co2 24 hours a day. I consider this a mistake. Plants use CO2 during the day and oxygen at night. Now I have corrected this and at night the plants do not receive CO2. Now the night level of CO2 is 400, the daytime level is 1000 ppm. PS. second week of flowering done. They were stretching like crazy. Installed a 3rd net to keep the stretch under control. Jumped from 35 cm to 83 cm in 2 weeks. They giving me some headache because of the hight. Should have send them 1 or 2 weeks earlier into flower. But it’s a lesson how to handle or not handle hybrids and sativas. Over all in was quite relaxing just adding water/ nutrients and doing some defoliation. So far so good. it’s quite easy to keep them on the same level with 3 nets. Still learning how to handle certain situations and conditions. But so far I am happy. They have got a massive need of Kalium at the moment. Should have given them more TA -Grow nutrients. But that’s party of learning. Really happy about the aeroponic setup. Really like the full control of the grow medium. (Compared to soil it’s easier for control freaks). Really water efficient compared to dwc/hydro/soil and changes made take effect pretty fast. Really nice oxygen supply at the roots and overall nice control possibilities regarding to roots and medium/solution. A possible downside could be that u can only use mineral nutrients and no organic nutrients. (We want some bacteria and fungus but not these ones that break down organic nutrients. That is more a preference thing than anything else. Good made hydro can compete with soil easily but most ppl put to much in there and ruin it any way. (Don’t want to trigger its good that everyone got its own style and evolves it in his needs and conditions.) The maintenance effort that is required for aero is a bit higher than soil and dwc but it pays off. (Personal opinion but numbers proof it) Looking forward to the next weeks and flower build up.
