Hopefully the smoke is alright, these girls are tough to grow and I need redemption for sure. Buds look frosty, smell like grape gas, density of the flower is rough anywhere except the main tops.

Overall very happy with the grow. Got 24oz of very dense nugs! I also managed to get 2oz of less dense but still pretty bag-appeal, and a shit ton of trim which I made into tidy ass brownies, which have made typing this incredibly difficult😂! Both of these strains are definitely bed time strains. The Critical kush is has the usual overwhelming kush taste, however the peyote(purple nugs) have a very sweet / flowery taste and smell. Disappointed I only done 1 peyote but more than happy with the critical. Would definitely grow both these strains again!

Added a second scrog net for the taller plants last Friday. Constantly defoliating to increase light penetration but not trying to stress the plants. (Selective leaf picking) Plants loved the tea I have them last week. Visual improvements in every plant 2 days later. Top dressing later this week on 9/29: 5 tablespoons Gaia green 444 5 tablespoons Gaia Green 284 15 tablespoon Wiggle Worm Earth Worm Castings Light increased to 75%

I did have a little problem with the nutrient feed on the biscotti, I couldn’t figure out what was the problem is. Let me add some calmag and see if that’s it

Switched to a lighter feed this week, leading into flush. Did the lighter feed for 5 days, and have been flushing for 2 days now. Will play by ear this week, but I see 1 more week of straight PH'd water and then it may be time to cut them down. Very pleased with their progress. All the plants have stacked flowers, which have swollen nicely and are coasted in resin. The fade is kicking in and the flowers are starting to get some beautiful colour to them. Should be interesting to see what they look like in a week.

********* Week 7 - January 20 to 26, 2020 (Days 43 to 49 from seed popping) She is taking shape more this week by getting taller colas and thinning out between nodes.......oh yeah, and fattening of buds😜😎 It was also not without learning though and thats what is so cool about growing this plant.......you always seem to leave a grow feeling like you could do even better next time and therefore challenging yourself to do better......and have bowl while doing it😂 Her nodes are getting taller and giving herself room for packing on weighty buds👍 If left to one cola should be a fatty!!! But then I would be freaking about potential bud-rot....so I am cool with it. Since LST though it will be interesting to see how well she fills in six😳 She has the makings of being a good producer......its up to the grower to now to keep her happy😬 and see if she packs on the weight with roughly three more full weeks to go?? Missed opportunities in CalMag showing.😰 Left a lot of leaves and two branches that should have removed. Potassium excess contributed to by grower learning Terpinator and Massive.😰 Main stem should have been a little lower......further opportunity to improve👍💪 Got a little crazy with the PPM and felt I knew more than the nutrient company and went above the recommended max by roughly 30%😰😎😭 Yeah.......dummy! My defence.....1300 isn’t too high for Advanced Nutrients in late flower😃😃 Anyway, I screwed up and saw tip burn in week 7. Gave a quick little flush with RO water and Sensyzime to clean up the roots of the salts. Didn’t get crazy though because it was just the top leaves burnt. Been building the medium up to this point so don’t want to wash it all away just yet. She seemed to react well and nodes standing up and didn’t show much outwardly as signs of overwatering😬 Reviewing some of the photos this week I have seen the first small parts of a few hairs drying and turning colour.......no full hairs and not on every bud but enough to say they are first ones.......three more weeks?? Curious.....time will tell.....seen Jan 26, day 49. (49 + 21 = 70.......makes sense.) Feed will stop next week.....by end of my week 8. In the week a head there will be the last push to get her medium in as good a shape as my skills will warrant. I want to get a good 10 + days of flush to see her in the beauty of senescence and how she matures. Run-off has been reasonable so will keep fingers crossed 😄🤞 Little more detail.... Jan 20/20 - Day 43 - Drinking lots right now, close to 4L per day, so 2L plain water only in AM. 6.2pH,. - Feed in PM was light as well. Sensyzime @ 2ml and LW8 & Rezin @ 1.5ml only. 2L given with 75ppm. 5.9pH - She was given a good feeding yesterday. - Buds sites looking taller. Jan 21/20 - Day 44 - AM - 3L with Dual Fual A&B @ 1.5ml/L. 725ppm and 5.9pH. - PM hit her again - full feeding minus Rhino Skin, Sensyzime and Vitrathrive and VeloKelp. 2.5L 1000ppm and 5.9pH. - Runoff - 950ppm and 5.6pH. - top leaves were droopy so the extra feeding in the evening. Jan 22/20 - Day 45 - Backing off quantity a bit and down to 3L feed in PM. - Mass & Terp @ 3ml, Rezin & LW8 & DF @ 1.5ml, CalMag @ 0.5ml = 1300ppm - Very perky today....standing up all the way down the plant. Liked the feed yesterday. ******this was likely the mistake feed looking back********left the ppm too high and should have added in RO water to bring down around 1000ppm! At least it seems traceable and will go with that😀 Jan 23/20 - Day 46 - Supplemental feeding only today. Happy so don't rock the boat :) - Sensyzime @ 2ml, LW8 & Rezin @ 1.5ml = 80ppm 6.1pH - 2L only today.....still some weight to the pot Jan 24/20 - Day 47 - 2L feed: Massive @ 2ml, DF & LW8 & Rezin @ 1.5ml = 925ppm 6.2pH - Nute burn on Green Poison but Zkittlez seems fine and she is fine. Maybe a slight lightening on a few tips.... - happy and praying in the evening. Jan 25/20 - Day 48 - 4L of full strength feeding for this week. - ppm for that was 1275 so watered down to 1100ppm.....only need 1ml of base nutes at full strength to hit roughly 1,000ppm. - Runoff: 900ppm & 6.05pH....happy with that. - she is 28” x 28” now - Her cola growth was strong, taller for each of the 6 She is in fattening mode….feed her 😀 Jan 26/20 - Day 49 - So no surprise when you push a girl you find her limit. Tips burnt this morning.😥😔 - 6L plain RO water pH to 6.2 - Followed right away with 2L RO water with Sensyzime @ 2ml/L. - Runoff: 465ppm. - She responded very well to this and all tips were up still in the evening.....no over watering signs. - Removed about 15 fan leaves and 4 lower bud sites. - guessing only another 1.5 weeks of feeding. - not falling to sleep an hour before lights out anymore either😀 Happy growing fellow enthusiasts and thanks for the time to read🙏🙏 (scrolling back through diary to update........damn.......that is a lot of bottles during these weeks!! There is an upside to organics😄)

It was a busy week full of events. I got them a 600 watts HPS light and microbes to help them grow faster. I finally started the trellis netting to even the canopy and get more from the lights and I also spray the plants again for bugs. I found out that I've been using powder nutrients on my reservoir and that's probably why I've been getting floods two or tree times a week and now the valve is open only when I'm there, because I'm sick of cleaning and I took that little sick plant out. My cats have her now.

🍰 Lava Cake – Week 8 (4th Week Flower) | The Bulking Phase The fourth week of flower has arrived, and both Lava Cakes are showing their full potential. Their structure is strong, pistils are snow-white and thick, and bud sites are stacking beautifully. This is the week where the promise of flowers begins to turn into visible production, every day, you can almost see them swelling. ⸻ 🔬 What’s Happening in Week 4 Flower By now, stretch is nearly finished. The plants are redirecting their energy: • From vertical growth ➝ into flower bulk. • From nitrogen demand ➝ into phosphorus & potassium demand. • From building structure ➝ into packing density. This transition is crucial: the roots, the soil microbiology, and the nutrient profile all work together to feed flowers instead of stems and leaves. What we see this week: • Thick, healthy pistils at every site. • Calyx swelling beginning, the first signs of true bud stacking. • Leaves still dark and strong — proof of balanced nutrition. • No stress, no burn, no deficiencies. ⸻ 🥤 Feeding Strategy – Why Boosters Matter Now This week, we removed the Aptus All-in-One Liquid, despite it being in the photo. The reason: the soil’s super soil base + slow-release pellets still carry enough NPK to support the girls. Overfeeding at this stage could risk tip burn or nutrient lockout — and we want the roots to stay clean and active. Instead, the focus is on precision boosters: Recipe (per L water): • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml → strengthens cell walls, stress protection, and nutrient uptake efficiency. • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml → keeps calcium steady (critical for bud structure) and magnesium strong (photosynthesis & chlorophyll). • Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml → directs plant energy into flower production. • Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml → provides organic nitrogen + enzymes to stimulate terpene development. • Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml → PK booster + biostimulant, promoting dense, resin-rich flowers. Why this mix? • Because the NPK in soil is still sufficient → boosters fill in the extra needs of flowering without overwhelming the root zone. • Because boosters provide specialized roles → each product targets a specific physiological process. • Because balance prevents problems → overdoing NPK at week 4 could backfire, while focused boosters guide the plants safely into mid-bloom. ⸻ 🌡️ Environmental Notes • Temps: Still ~31–34°C until AC arrives. High, but plants are adapting. • Humidity: 55–60%, VPD ~1.8–2.0 kPa — slightly high, but still manageable. • Watering Rhythm: Once substrate moisture falls near 19–20%, measured by TrolMaster WCS substrate sensor. This ensures roots get oxygen before each feed. Even under warm conditions, the plants are drinking heavily — proving they are metabolically active and thriving. ⸻ 🌸 What to Expect Next Week (Week 5 Flower) ✅ Expect: • Noticeable bulking → flowers will become rounder, denser, and begin to “stack.” • More pistils → a full carpet of white hairs covering colas. • Aroma development → the first hints of Lava Cake’s dessert-like terpene profile may start releasing. ❌ Not to Expect (yet): • Full frost coverage → heavy trichome production usually comes weeks 5–7. • Final density → buds will continue swelling for several weeks, so patience is key. ⸻ ✨ Closing Thoughts Week 4 flower is the foundation of yield. It’s when the plants finish their stretch, define their bud sites, and begin to convert light, water, and nutrients into the weight and density we harvest later. Our Lava Cakes are in perfect rhythm: • Strong genetics, showing symmetrical growth. • Balanced feeding, keeping roots clean and buds fueled. • Stable environment, with monitoring from TrolMaster guiding every adjustment. From here forward, every day brings visible progress. The journey of seeds to now feels like preparation — this is the beginning of the true show. 🔬 Science Spotlight – The Unsung Heroes: Calcium & Magnesium Many growers focus on NPK during flower, but two “quiet players” — calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) — are just as vital to ensure flowers bulk properly. 🌿 Calcium (Ca): • Strengthens cell walls, making flowers denser and less prone to collapse. • Improves nutrient transport, ensuring phosphorus and potassium (the bloom drivers) actually reach the buds. • Helps roots resist stress in warm environments (like our 31–34°C room). 🌿 Magnesium (Mg): • The central atom in chlorophyll → without magnesium, photosynthesis collapses. • Supports enzyme activity, converting sugars into energy for bud building. • Directly influences terpene production, giving flowers their aroma and flavor. Why CalMag Boost now? • In soil mixes, calcium can sometimes get “locked up” as the pH fluctuates. • With daily watering at slightly acidic pH (5.8–6.0), we guarantee Ca and Mg are immediately available. • This ensures strong, vibrant leaves → which means more energy for flower sites. In short: while NPK builds the skeleton of yield, calcium and magnesium are the glue and spark that hold it all together. Skipping them would weaken the entire flowering process. ✨ Grower’s Analogy: Think of your plant like a construction site: • NPK are the bricks and beams (the main structure). • Calcium is the cement holding every wall together. Without it, the structure would crumble. • Magnesium is the spark plug in the engine — it makes photosynthesis “run” and fuels the work crews building the flowers. No cement, no structure. No spark plug, no engine. That’s why CalMag support is never optional — especially in flower when the demand skyrockets. 🌸 📲 Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic. Day 127 - Watered/fed today. About 180 oz of water given, with 1/2 tsp Bloom, 1/2 tsp Mag Pro per gallon. It is anticipated that this is the last feed, and will be given water only, the next 2-3 feeds before harvest, to flush/fade the girl (come on autumn colors!). I happened to be searching a couple buds and found my first 3 amber trichs on a calyx. The final countdown has begun! Day 128 - Nothing to note, I was lucky to be around enough to get the photo. Day 129 - I feel like there has been some new calyx development over the last few days, but I am still going with my plan to flush 2-3 times before a harvest. I feel like if I was properly set up, and honestly stocked with current flower, I could probably let this thing go another 3 weeks (rookie grower thoughts), but I am still looking to harvest in 10-12 days. Talking to a few different people, ran a few ideas past me, but I think I am going with my plan for this first grow. Someone mentioned one more big bloom feed before a flush, but I think I'm just ready to be done feeding. The idea of 24 hours of darkness before harvest to 'boost trichs' was brought to me by another person, and I am still unsure of my thoughts on that plan. Day 130 - The 'flush' has begun. Today the plant was given 2 gallons of water, which is almost 50% more than was given with feed, as she had been getting 180oz or so of water. You can really tell the difference in the amount of runoff! Lets see how long she takes to really show a fade. Day 131 - I got nothing for today. Snapped a pic and bolted out of the house. Day 132 - Again, sadly, I got nothing for today. A picture and out the door. Day 133 - 11 weeks of flower are down. She was watered today, with another 2 gallons of water only. I added a small amount of new Mother Earth Coco Peat to the pot, in my mind, just to ensure that she doesn't fade out too quickly. Probably a bit unnecessary and may not help, but I did it anyways :) I originally planned on chopping likely at the end of this weekend, but I might see if she can hold out 2 more water only feeds, and chop next Thurday-Friday, at the end of the 12th week. I keep checking a few buds with the loupe, and still can barely find any amber, but also don't see any clear trichs. Either way, I am going to be anxious for this last week to finish up, then the real test of waiting will come, hanging and curing!

I definitely enjoyed and having cool cure definitely a game changer . Bout to test it out some more by leaving the buds or recent harvest inside the system. Thinking cutting down the time 4 weeks in veg and 8 to 9 weeks in flower to keep it coming and posted..
