🍪🌿 Animal Mints Week 7 From Seed | Week 3 Flower (12/12 From Birth) Yes — these girls have never seen veg lighting. They were born into 12/12. They have no idea what 18/6 even means. And that changes everything about how we read them. ⸻ 🔁 Quick Recap — For Anyone Arriving Now • 12/12 from seed • Hand-watered • Organic + mineral approach • Multi-layer LED system: • Over-canopy • Inner-canopy • Under-canopy (almost fully active) • CO₂: ~909 ppm • PPFD range: ~850–1200 (height dependent) These are not low-intensity plants. The room is tuned for consumption. And not every plant is ready to eat like this. These are. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment Snapshot • 🌡️ Day temp: ~28°C • 💧 RH: ~65% • ⚡ EC: ~2.9 • pH: ~6.5 • 💨 CO₂: ~909 ppm Now let’s address the elephant in the room: “28°C in flower? Isn’t that hot?” Only if you misunderstand LED physics. ⸻ 🍃 Leaf VPD — Not Room VPD Under LED lighting: • Minimal infrared radiation • Leaf surface temperature runs 2–4°C below ambient • So while room reads 28°C, leaf surface likely sits 24–26°C With RH at 65%: 👉 Leaf VPD lands right in early–mid flower comfort zone. Signs that confirm it: • No tacoing • No stress curl • No bleaching • No claw • Strong praying • Fast metabolism • Uniform green tone We guide with room readings. But we decide based on leaf behavior. And the leaves are calm. ⸻ 💧 EC 2.9 — Why So High? Because the room demands it. Let’s break it down: • High PPFD (850–1200) • Elevated CO₂ (~900 ppm) • High transpiration window (correct VPD) • Strong stretch phase (week 3 flower from seed) This creates a high-consumption environment. EC isn’t high because we want it high. It’s high because: • They are eating. • They are stretching. • They are metabolically active. If EC were too high, we would see: • Uniform tip burn • Dark clawing • Slowed stretch • Salt stress patterns We are not seeing that. We are seeing appetite. Important note for readers: Not all plants should be fed like this. You must read your room before copying numbers. ⸻ ✂️ Defoliation — Light Haircut, Not Surgery They didn’t desperately need it. But: • The room was being reset • Airflow harmonization matters • Light penetration symmetry matters • Under-canopy exposure matters From the timeline: Before • Healthy canopy • Some interior shading • Early bud sites forming After • Clean lower third • Clear interior airflow • Defined tops • Light pathways opened I didn’t strip. I refined. This is maintenance defoliation — not panic defoliation. ⸻ 🌱 Structural Observations Check the photos: • Internode spacing moderate • Tops stacking evenly • Pistil clusters forming • Stretch still active but controlled • Stems thickening in response to light intensity They are transitioning from architecture phase into production phase. Week 3 from seed-flower timing means: They are slightly developmentally behind traditional veg-then-flip plants. And that’s expected. ⸻ 🔬 Multi-Layer Lighting System — Why It Works We are not just blasting top light. We are: • Feeding tops from above • Feeding sides from inner canopy • Preparing lower bud sites with under-canopy This creates: • Even auxin redistribution • Less apical dominance • More balanced lower bud viability • Reduced larf development later When under-canopy fully activates? We’ll likely see lower sites tighten dramatically. ⸻ 📈 What To Expect Next Week Expect: • Continued vertical stretch (but slowing) • Clear bud site stacking • Increased water uptake • Slight calcium demand increase • Stem lignification Do Not Expect Yet: • Bud swelling • Dense calyx stacking • Heavy resin • Final terp expression We are still in early production. This is foundation week. ⸻ ❤️ Gratitude Section To: • The OGs following since day one • The silent readers learning quietly • The loud critics keeping us sharp • The lovers • The haters • The Grow Diaries community • The platform hosting this experiment • The sponsors supporting the journey • Every single person who clicks, reads, observes, questions This is more than growing. It’s documentation. It’s education. It’s transparency. And it’s respect for the plant. 📡 Please stay tuned they can try and take us down but we never quit https://www.youtube.com/@DOGDOGTHEDOCTOR NEW 🙏 Thank you for your patience and continued support. With true love comes happiness. Always believe in yourself, and always do things expecting nothing and with an open heart. Be a giver, and the universe will give back in ways you could never imagine. 💚 Growers love to all 💚 📸 P.S. – The Eye Behind the Lens All photos in this diary (for now — except for the ones showing the camera, which I took with an iPhone) are taken with a Sony A6700 paired with a Sony full-frame macro lens and a few more. Photography is part of the story — it’s how we share the fine textures, the glow, and the quiet details that words can’t always capture. I’ve also started experimenting with photo stacking — a technique where multiple images, each taken at a slightly different focus point, are layered together to create one perfectly sharp image from front to back. It’s not digital enhancement or AI; it’s pure photography — a way to reveal the plant’s beauty in microscopic depth, from trichome to petal. You’ll even see a few shots of "ghost me" capturing the shots — camera, lens, setup — because every grow deserves not just to be cultivated, but documented like art. On the 13th day after the seeds were planted, I dropped an oscillating fan in the grow tent and spilled one of these Dosidos 33 out of her pot and onto the floor of the tent. I panicked and tried to pick up the little seedling and bits of soil and replace it in the pot as well as I could, but I was convinced I'd killed one of my plants. Within a couple days you wouldn't have known anything happened. I'm so glad she survived, because she grew into a beautiful purple plant that ended up finishing early.

OK lots of excitement this week. I could stand by and watch no longer something had to be done, but what? Let's turn to the strange leaf problem first. Copper necrotic spots. WTF could this be, it's nothing to do with nutrients or pH that I'm pretty confident. Maybe it's just normal leaf dying. Whatever. I've supplied some photos where you can see a pattern of concentric rings. This tends to make it look more like some sort of mosaic virus, however if that were the case it would be everywhere. It looks like something was spilled on the plant but that did not happen. I don't deem this a problem at all but it's very very puzzling. Anyway after mulling the situation it seemed like it was about time this giant leaves were gone. So all the giagantic huge chunky leaves were removed. I figured whatever they are making there's plenty more healthy leaves to carry on the work. Plus I think it induces some shock to the plant. It will definitely shift hormones around but what effect that has I don't know. It looks like I've done a lot of work on this plant but I haven't really, just trying to see what she wants to do. So all that's happened is the first two branches that come out with the first baby leaves have been removed all other branches have developed normally. Then the four branches from the first two growing nodes have been pinned down to give the plant a bit of space. Edit: I've just pinned the lowest branches back a bit more and removed any fan leaves around the top as there seems to be plenty around.

Good day everyone, 3 days ago I harvested the Pineapple express. I can say only one - this was VERY fast grow. The fastest one I had ever. So I know why - Fast buds genetic DWC simple system I can not say anything about the strain yet, but the aroma is amazingly sweet and fruity. The buds are fully covered with the white crystals. I will update the DRY bud weight within 1 week the smoke report. Good luck

Background: This is a small grow in a 20" x 36"x 63" tent. Growing 2 sour diesel from seed in coco/perlite medium using General Hydroponic nutrients and primarily following feeding schedule as listed here http://gh.growgh.com/docs/Feedcharts/GH_FloraSeries-DTW_03216am.pdf . I'll be substituting "h3ad formula," i.e. 6 ml GH FloraMicro : 9 ml GH FloraBloom per gallon, for the first 3 rows in the pdf and also be skipping Diamond Nectar, FloraBlend, and FloraNectar. See pic above for nutrient list. Note: Second time attempting to grow this strain. Bud rot destroyed majority of previous grow so this is a redemption grow, hopefully. Lesson learned from previous failure - two circulation fans do not counter high humidity especially for the big buds over 3" wide. On chop day, after vegging for 3 months and flowering for 100 days, the insides of the buds closest to the stems were full of white cotton candy. Couldn't spot it from the outside at all. So lesson learned, and this time end of flower will coincide with low-humidity winter as opposed to the summer. Week 1 - Nutrient regimen: 6 ml GH FloraMicro + 9 ml GH FloraBloom per gallon. Used at 1/3 strength diluted with dechlorinated water. Solution ph'd to 5.8. 9/5/2019 (V1) - Sprouted yesterday and moved under 273 watts of vero 29 LED today, dimmed to lowest setting. Used rapid rooters for germination but would have preferred peat pellets since they stay can stay upright without support. 9/10/2019 (V6) - Fungus gnat larvae infestation! Transplanted to solo cups on 9/6 (V2) using ready mix bag of coco and perlite. Using 1/3 strength "h3ad formula" for first week and fed every other day. Growth appears stunted compared to previous grows and stems needed additional support to stay upright with circulation fan on. Feeding until runoff showed major infestation (see video #1). Can only guess coco mix bag was contaminated, since no adult gnats are visible in tent and yellow sticky card is empty. This has got to be my record for early fuckups! Attempting to treat with neem extract mix (dosed used 5 ml neem oil extract : 500 ml water) and a layer of diatomaceous earth on top (see V6 pic). Hopefully this treatment is better than not doing anything and letting those squirmy baby bastards take over. For a plant this young and without adequate root support this is a gamble. Also bumped up light a bit to 13000 lux as read on Light Meter v3.1 app by Trajkovski Labs using Samsung S6.

A very sunny week that made the plants double in size and grow healthier. I didn't water once this week and the plants are good with it, thanks to @MadeInGermany. Pre-flowering stage has started this week and each day I can see more and more pistils. As I expect the plants to stretch the following 2/3 weeks, I thought some little training would help. So I taped a couple leaves downwards in each plant-the ones that blocked sunlight from sidebranches, that will be bud sites in the future-.

Tried some wet Melt in the Puffco it hits like crazy. Great effects and gas flavor. Will be pressing asap update did a 2nd wash tonight of all the trim from plant 3. I’d say 600 wet grams. Yielded great and awesome color
