A 4 hour planned power outage in my area gave me the excuse to flip the girls. Kept the lights off for a cycle then immediately went 12/12. Although the temperature dropped to a root freezing 58°F, the reservoir didn't have a chance to fluctuate much and I also kept my air pumps running for an extra hour and a half off my computer backup battery! The battle with root rot is basically over. I am taking care to rinse the roots every once and a while. Growth has been amazing! Loving DWC! It also gives me things to do as I lie to pay attention to my plants. Doing a thorough clean with H2O2 every res change. PPM is around 800-900. Drops fast now. Every two days I check PH and correct if necessary. Usually it's been around 6.2-6.3 when I check. I PH it back down to 5.8. I've heard that flowering is a little on the acidic side so I'm planning on dropping my PH to 5.5-5.6. Did a major defoliation after this diary entry. Will do another in three weeks. Stretch has started by the looks of it. Bubble og I still have 4 of these guys going. A few of them are still dark green and pretty decent growers they have thiner leaves. I'm sure a few of these will be on the chopping block later down a few of them just have crappy start growth and they need the humidity at 75% or above 100% the time with the light lower than normal or they start to shrivel up. That's not all of them just a couple. Also I am only going to flower 8 plants out if the 12 seedling and I have 5 strains going so can't have half my plants bubble og (wish I had room to grow the full 12 plants at a time) It's looking like a good start to a week the plants are strong they are getting to the point I can let the dried dry out completely. I'm thinking by the end of this week the plants will be starting to be sold. Last week I put all the plants into my bigger 2x4 tent with my medicgrow mini sun 2 the 500w version. Only a few of the plants were ready for that light. Seems like the only plants that really have good resistance and have a strong start are the weedseedsexpress.com seeds. Shout out to weedseedsexpress.com for the strong plants. I ended up putting all the plants back into my 2x2 tent with the 55w amazon light it has alot more blue light in its spectrum. It's kinda weird b4 I switched the plants to the 2x4 tent they were getting 220umol under my amazon 55w led then when I put them under the 500w light 25% strength about 50in from plants and they were getting only about 195umol in that tent but it was stressing most the plants. I assume a larger light has more side lighting hitting the plants. I think when useing larger lights it's good to measure umols from the top but also coming from the sides. I think durring seedling stage they only need about 50% the umols coming from the side the plants as the top is receiving. When I put the plants back in the small tent about the same umols as they were getting b4 the switch and they were still a little stressed. So for a few days I put the small light at the top the tent giving them 100umols for a few hrs then 130umols the rest the day.

This week was all about letting her recover from the cloning. Sadly most clones I took did not made it. Just 2 survived my inexperience hands. The good news is that miss Daisy it's doing so well I may be able to give it another try before flipping to flower. I have no rush for this harvest so will probably give it a try. After the cloning and some extra pruning she recovered in no time. The roots look good, just wish the nutrients did not stained them, that way would be easier to sight any root rot if present. 🗓️ Day - 28 ⏰ Hour - 8:30 am / 10:00 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 74 / 77 💦Humidity - % 50 / 54 ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 630 / 650 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 73 / 72 ⚗️PH - 6.1 / 6.1 🌿 Looks perky and happy after pruning. She’s is recovering very well. Her roots are showing new white hairs so seams she’s liking the higher nutrients levels. 🗓️ Day - 29 ⏰ Hour - 9:00 am / 🌬️Air Temp. - 76 / 💦Humidity - % 54 / ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 680 / ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 73 / ⚗️ PH - 6.1 / 6.1 📝 Added 4 Gallons of tap water starting feed for week #5 with higher nutrient concentration so ppm should stay around 600. Also added 10 ml of hydrogen peroxide to the reservoir. 🗓️ Day - 30 ⏰ Hour - 8:00 am / 🌬️Air Temp. - 76 / 💦Humidity - % 54 / ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 680 / ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 73 / ⚗️PH - 6.2 / 🌿 Bouncing back very well and has nice new roots coming out. 🗓️ Day - 31 ⏰ Hour - 8:15 am / 9:00 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 75 / 76 💦Humidity - % 61 / 60 ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 680 / 710 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 72 / 73 ⚗️PH - 6.2 / 6.2 🌱 Two clones left of Sour Diesel show small signs of root development. Other samples did not made it. 🗓️ Day - 32 ⏰ Hour - 8:10 am / 11:30 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 75 / 76 💦Humidity - % 61 / 57 ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 710 / 740 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 72 / 72 ⚗️PH - 6.2 / 6.2 🗓️ Day - 33 ⏰ Hour - 8:10 am / 11:00 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 73 / 74 💦Humidity - % 49 / ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 770 / 800 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 72 / 72 ⚗️PH - 6.2 / 6.2 🗓️ Day - 34 ⏰ Hour - 7:30 am / 10:00 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 74 / 74 💦Humidity - % 52 / 53 ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 820 / 880 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 72 / 72 ⚗️PH - 6.2 / 6.2 🗓️ Day - 35 ⏰ Hour - 7:30 am / 9:00 pm 🌬️Air Temp. - 73 / 74 💦Humidity - % 55 / 52 ⛽️ TDC (ppm) - 910 / 960 ⚱️Reservoir Tmp. - 71 / 71 ⚗️PH - 6.1 / 6.1

This week I added a new controller to handle up to 8 functions. I installed a new heater, my old humidifier and some LED strips to the controller. Targeting a VPD at 1.0 day and night. Trying to keep the nutrient ppm under 900 and ph at 6.0 in the reservoirs. Ordered a second ph pen because I don’t trust my readings. Will be here by Thursday. Friday: Checked the ppm in the reservoirs and it’s at 1,000. Added more RO water with extra nitrogen to bring the ppm level down to 925. Saturday: I installed an updated AC Infinity controller 69 Pro Plus (controls 8 pieces of equipment) which allowed me to add a humidifier, corner LEDs and a heater to the controller. Overall I’m extremely impressed with this AC Infinity equipment. My VPD is within the range I want to achieve (.8-1.1). I programmed it to maintain 78 degrees and 67% humidity during the day, 73 degrees and 63% humidity at night. Charts posted also show the impact of an open tent compared to the closed environment. The heater is constantly pushing fresh air into the tent, so I don’t need to cycle the exhaust fan often. Rewired the tent again and moved the controller later that night. I mounted the controller on the wall. Added Mars Hydro UV/IR lighting to fill out all 8 slots on the controller. Sunday: I checked the ph in the reservoirs (6.8….i had filled it with 6.0 ph) and the ppm (1200 ppm…I had filled it with 900). So evaporation and possibly a mismeasurement of ph. I topped ff reservoirs with slightly stronger nutes and adjusted ph to 5.8 in the reservoirs. Poor magnesium absorption could be driving some leaf yellowing. Effective tomorrow, I’m switching over to Heads Formula which consistently feeds GH Flora series nutes at Micro (6ml/g), Bloom (9ml/g) and cal mag (3ml/g). Turned on the UV/IR lights for 3 minutes every 8 hours. I’m easing the plants up to 5 minutes every 6 hours which will provide the recommended 20 minutes of IR per day. This will help the plants stretch a little more. Monday: checked ph and ppm in reservoirs. 6.1ph and 880ppm. VPD remains stable except when I open the tent. Tuesday: checked ph (6.4) and ppm (880) in reservoirs. Added .5ml of ph down to two reservoirs. Still see slight yellowing between the veins but it’s not getting worse (might be improving). Adjusting ph down to 6.0 target might have solved this. The plants grew by 1-2” last night…..is the infrared light working already? Decided to mix up fresh nutes for the reservoirs following Heads formula. 6ml Micro and 9ml Bloom per gallon of RO water. Added 5 ml of CalMag too. Ending ppm was 1080 which is too high, so I diluted down to 880 with RO water. 6.0 ph. Wednesday: plants grew another .75 inches last night. I topped above the 5th node. Thursday: added RO water with heavy cal mag to reservoirs to increase amount of CalMag available.

There is a timelapse of this past week! This plant, the blueberry, is in the background. Early this week I transplanted the rock wool cube into my DWC system. I pH'd the water, but otherwise did not provide nutes for a few days. The grow tent is now on an 18hr light period. Sometime in the middle of this past week, this blueberry started wilting! In response, I provided the nutrients listed above, with the addition of 1 gallon of (hard) tap water to provide calcium. Unlike my GSC, the nutrients did not fix the wilting, but the wilting did go away after 2-3 days. I had some humidity troubles, so I resorted to flooding the bottom of my tent. This does seem to help maintain humidity around 50% RH. This plant is growing asymmetrically! It's first set of "real leaves" is not even. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
