It was time to chop one of the girls. After wet trim scale show 547g what I find a great result. Second plant will stay in the tent for about a week longer. First one: from 547 wetwith some stems I finished with 102g dry and trimmed Second one: 617 wet harvest, dry 135 Final weight from two plants is 237g so I'm super happy about this grow.

Exciting first few days setting up everything in and around the propagator. I think I'll start counting the vegging days when the seedlings are 7-10 days old.

Day 36 I guess I can call it bloom. Nice strong pistils shooting all over. She is the tallest so far making me raise my lights a little more. Day 38 Now Californian Snow is the tallest :) Ztrawberry stopped at a perfect height, it looks like she's gonna develop into a beautiful lady. Fat white pistils all over 😻 Day 39 Happy girl got 2500ml cm bg bb bh 6.3ph ~1EC She is perfect, symmetrical, stopped stretching at about 50cm, flowers are mostly leveled, branches are strong, leaves point up unless I water. I think she's also turning purple. Beaut 😻 Day 42 I think I saw some burnt tips but she still looks super happy and healthy. The most vigorous plant I've had.

A plant with both standard cellular respiration (occurring throughout the plant, including leaves and stems) and adequate root respiration will have a significantly higher ATP throughput than one restricted to only general cellular respiration in a limited way. Cellular respiration is the fundamental metabolic process that occurs in all living plant cells (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, seeds) to convert glucose into usable energy (ATP). It requires oxygen and produces carbon dioxide and water as byproducts. Root respiration is not a separate type of respiration, but rather a specific instance of cellular respiration occurring in the roots. A soil without organic matter will generally have a low Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). Biochar is often prized for its potential to increase soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), but this effect is highly dependent on the specific properties of the biochar (feedstock and pyrolysis temperature) and the soil type to which it is applied. High-ash biochars, especially those produced at lower temperatures and applied to acidic or sandy soils, can significantly boost CEC by providing abundant binding sites for cations like calcium (Ca²⁺), magnesium (Mg²⁺), and potassium (K⁺). Biochar is more sustainable than typical organic matter for long-term soil improvement primarily due to its high stability and resistance to microbial decomposition, allowing it to persist in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years. This longevity provides a lasting positive effect on soil properties, particularly by increasing the cation exchange capacity (CEC) over time, while regular organic matter breaks down much faster. Biochar generally offers a much higher CEC than coco coir, though specific values vary greatly; while coco coir might sit around 40-60 cmol/kg, biochar can range from tens to over 200 cmol/kg, with sources like Acacia wood biochar or even coconut shell biochar often surpassing coco's capacity due to its porous structure, creating significantly more cation-binding sites for nutrients, making it superior for nutrient retention. Needs to be charged similar to coco but at a much higger rate. But shhhh.. It's a secret. Ancient biochar-rich soils in the Amazon basin (known as Terra Preta) provide evidence of carbon stability lasting over 500 to 2,000+ years. Recommend a balanced ratio of key cations, particularly calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K). A widely accepted general "ideal soil" cation saturation ratio is approximately 65-85% Ca, 6-12% Mg, and 2-5% K. That's roughly what I give mine. Can even add N in its NH4+ form

at this week u can compare the stems and bush in the videos, keep in mind this is my first hydro grow and i messed the PPM and PH a few times.. also snapped a whole branch of the hydro plant around week 4. still the hydro plant looks bigger and fatter stem. lol

7/20 Went over this morning to plants soaking wet and heavy rain. Went back around 4pm and plants actually look really good. The rain has stopped for a bit and the girls looked great. Apart from some septoria leaves I needed to defoliate on the first plant I treated. I also noticed a few others on other plants so it's spreading albeit slowly. I treated the three in the middle with their second dose of Plant Doctor at 3tsp/1gal. One gallon administered to each plant via root drench. I think I may treat the other plant showing signs with a diy Dr. Zymes using citric acid as the active ingredient. That way I Gould start treatment right away without having to rely fully on plant doctor. Plus it would kill any pests. Ive seen damage but the birds do a number on them. I dont want to spray my plants with a bunch of chemicals if I don't have too. I shouldve replaced the pallets and cleaned the cage better. I think I did a good job sanitizing as I have no wpm. Just this septoria I probably got when the lady mowing the lawn cut all tjis fucking grass and blew it in my pen, throwing bird seed and I'm sure tons of disease into my grow bags. I literally had to harvest a bunch if fucking sunflowers. It looked like my plants had been mulched. Just with small disease carrying shrubs. At some point some of this stuff has to be on purpose. You CAN'T be that stupid. A couple kushes in the back look hungry. I think I may need to up my feed. I've written to much. I'll keep this updated. Thanks if you made it this far. 7/21 I guess it rained last night. Oh well. It was blue skies for hours before dark. It must've rained late/early morning. I'm sure the app of plant doctor will be fine. Like I said I'm considering using citric acid as a foliar spray to help with the septoria and clean up any pests. I don't have enough pests to warrant spraying. I just don't want to put all my eggs in the plant doctor basket. Today is overcast and windy. The wind has really assisted in spreading this virus. I remove anything I see infected immediately and since these plants are reveges they have plenty of leaves. Plants are really stretching. I know I talk about the septoria a lot but realistically if someone looked through my garden they'd have a hard time spotting it. I don't want to exaggerate the problem but I don't like dealing with ANY fungus or molds. 7/22 It was 55° this morning when I went over. I defoliated some septoria leaves and a few that were fading or damaged. I saw almost a whole leaf eaten so it's probably a good idea to move forward with citric acid. I can add that to the plants I've already treated with plant doctor. This is the first year it's been so noticeable. It's the reveg 10th planet that started this off. Oh well. I've dealt with MUCH worse. Plants LOOK good (other than septoria leaves (on bottom of plant). Today is water day for me but it's been raining and it's a lot cooler today. Bags still had weight to them. I want them to have a proper wet dry cycle. Temps top out at 75° so I'll monitor during the day and if something NEEDS WATER I'll give it to it. I'm suprised I have ZERO WPM. The septoria is much more identifiable but pm is usual present in these conditions bur I don't have a spot of it. I may do some defoliation today. I also need to add supports for flowering but one thing at a time.

It was finally time to harvest her, what good times we had with her. Amazed with how beautiful this plant is, how easy to manage and train and how rewarding Orange Hill Special is. So we said our thanks and goodbye, thanked her for all the joy she gave while growing her. I realize more and more how I love growing them even more than the end-product. It takes my mind of all going on for a while, in my miniature jungle world in the attic. Im sure all of you just sometimes sit there and watch them, in wonder, dreaming away with a good buzz on, watching them wave in the wind of the fans. So with a heavy hart I apologize, play them their last music, sit with them and feel them and smell them, watch the glistening of the cristals. In the end we had 209 gram dried Orange Hill Special, I will know the total of the grow, in a few days, since the final big whopper still has to dry: my XtraKush, be sure to check the harvest of that one *in couple of days) and see a one-dollar seed outperform two 10 dollar seeds. 2x Plants with liqui cannabiz doing very - ghe tri 2x coming along (adjusted their nutes) lets hope for the ge best..ill be doing some fimming through out he week.. Nuevo cultivo, volví a plantar Jamaican Dream, está vez solo se hará LST y defoliación, nada de apical(Main Lining). Se ha aprendido de errores y atrasos del cultivo anterior, esperando no cometerlos en este cultivo. Para este cultivo de usarán los nutrientes de la línea Grotek(mega pack), además de micorrizas great white. Las semillas germinaron al tercer día de plantadas en el sustrato, al igual que el cultivo anterior. Esperaré a que crezcan hasta unos 3 nodos para hacer transplante a maceteros definitivos de 18 litros. Germ2, han estirado suficiente para remover el plástico, se regaron con agua de osmosis con CalMag a 0.6 EC y pH 6.5, se espolvoreó great white en el sustrato. Se instalo un humidificador en el indoor y se bajó a un 70-80% la potencia del LED. Germ3, se mantienen en 80% de humedad a 23 grados, se humedece el sustrato. Germ6, están creciendo al ritmo esperado, se humedeció el sustrato, los parámetros están correctos. Germ8, primer riego con Vitamax Pro y SoloTek Grow de Grotek, 0.8 EC, y un poco de great white en polvo al sustrato. Creciendo bien.

Both are unique in their own dank way. The #1 pheno has a smooth sweet ‘purple’ terpene profile with a hint of fuel while the #2 is more earthy and gassy. --- Anyways! --- Onwards to next week Ensign! [END OF WEEK 20]

Although I just flipped to 12/12 I decided to remove some of the fan leaves to improve light penetration. I also used some rubber bands to create a DIY scrog net with a lot of flexibility. In general the plant seems to be doing fine. In the mid of the week I added some phosphor boost to the regular nutrient solution, because my regular mix doesn't have phosphor at all. Forgot to mention that I dimmed the light to 600 ppfd since the beginning of flower. Also moved the air filter and co. to the top again, because it was getting too hot and dry.

Good finish by cookies elephant trunk. I’m going to take on the elements and finish these outside. I’m going to fill tents out as dry tents Dr. Zymes as preventative and active pest control. No BT just 👁️ balled those worms

Week 13 Day 80 Decided against the chop this weekend... Good Friday Agreement 😜 Put her into darkness on Monday. Then its Goodnight Vienna. Made a wee video of her journey, as this will be the last update until harvest. Thanks for all your advice✊🏻

Heeey all! Sorry for the huge amount of photos but this week was crazy. So many things happened and my lack of knowledge clearly showed up. I ended stressing one of my plants for no reason! 😱 At the start of the week everything was normal until I noticed that one of Roko's buds looked weird. It seemed to be too dry and orange for my tastes and I didn't know what it was. Obviously I started to ask around and I got so many mixed messages haha. Some people said it was nothing and I should not worry about it and others said they were 100% sure it was botrytis or budrot... aaaaaaaand I got paranoid lol. 😵😨 At first I tried to keep calm and ignore it for one day but the next one the bud looked even worse and that's when I feared the worst. What if it's really budrot? In general the values I write in here are approximates or an average of the week.. and usually my tent never goes over 60% of RH (in the dark it stays between 50% to 60% when I water them and on some rare occasions it reaches 65%). This time, after I checked the thermometer it said "75% of RH" but I did not know if it was during their sleep time or maybe some time after the lights went on) so once again I feared the worst! What if the plants stayed all the night with that amount of RH? Was that enough time for them to develop budrot? What if it's still nothing? Yikes. 😭 I had to do something and I did, I wasn't going to risk everything! I started removing the worst looking leaf to see if there was anything mushy or ugly between it and the pistils but I didn't see anything (maybe I was safe and that was something else? Or maybe the budrot was even deeper and I could not see it?) After reading I realized that the best idea was to cut the bud in half and then slice it to "see" if there was anything inside... so I did it and absolutely nothing showed up 😖! Those were good news! Sadly tho the poor plant had to go thru some stress after cutting that bud in half (at least from what I saw the insides were tightly packed and the photos showed some really cool stuff) The rest of the week was uneventful (compared to what I feared haha) and some leaves started to change even more in color (I love it). I think I'll start with the flush next week or the one after that one. There are some amber trichomes...! Thanks all for checking my diary! Hopefully you'll all find the pictures interesting! PD: None of the plants have seeds in them, even when one of the sliced buds seemed to be making them!
