Ginger Nut Cookies & Aussie Music Videos Week 16 Harvest 17 th April 2020 This Entire feminised seed making and growing project was a very good learning experience for me. Right from the very start, when I successfully got a Cutting ,taken from a Barneys Farm Red diesel female plant to produce feminised pollen after treating it with a silver thiosulfate solution. I then used it to pollinate a Fastbuds Girl scout cookies auto plant and let it grow to maturity. This only produced 3 viable seeds one of which is the subject of this Diary. I made up the name "Ginger nut cookies" after a variety of cookies we have here in Australia that are made with ginger. They are the same colour as the distinct red hairs on the red diesel buds. And would you believe those same vivid red hairs were passed on to this plant so I wasn't too far off the mark with the strain name. Her flavour however is nothing like red diesel or girl scout cookies and infact as taken on a smell and aroma all of it's own. She has a lovely tropical fruit like taste and the smell is a bit like fruit yoghurt. It has an unreal after taste on the exhale and the lingering second hand smoke smells very sweet and enticing. She has a pretty well balanced high too not as potent as the GSC nor as energenic as the red diesel but just a pleasant mix of the two. It was a very easy to grow and undemanding plant that didn't seem to require a lot of extra feeding other than the 100% organic nutrients that were within the soil and a few things like compost teas etc. The other element of this diary was of course the weekly Aussie music videos That I provided the links for and put up a little video clip preview of each Artists song. Week 9 was a tough week for the plants, but they pulled through! First, we are experiencing a heatwave where I live which has caused me some headaches for figuring out how to make the environment plant-friendly. Growing indoors is much tougher than I thought it would be 😅. So the room where the plants are has reached the max temperature of 38 degrees celsius. I decided to take the plants out of the tent and into my bedroom facing the west side window for ultimate sun exposure. Unfortunately, I cannot have the plants in my bedroom overnight since my husband has allergies. So, I placed them back in the tent at night. Throughout the week, I took some timelapse videos of the plants in front of the sun, and it is truly fascinating how plants understand the power of the sun, soil, water, and air. I think that plants would rather be grown by sunlight than LED lights, they get to move to the rhythm and speeds of solar and ecosystem, and it's amazing to witness in timelapse! Anyways, by the end of week 8, the plant looked hungry and big enough to be repotted. So, I gave it some Gaia Gree all-purpose nutrients and repotted her in a larger container with some fresh soil. The first few days of repotting, the plant seemed to have experience stressed. Its leaves were floppy, and there was not much growth. By the end of week 9 the plant looked much happier, fuller, and greener!

Still losing leaves from the bottom. Humidity is high at around 65%. Buds are still developing very fast. Just at 21 days into flowering I’ve bumped the lights up to 100%.

7/21/21: WEEK 6!!!!! She's looking pretty good and I'm super impressed with how well she has handled the heat, she's doing way better than some sativas we've grown indoors during summer..I think she'll start plumping up this week..we cut growth solution roughly a week ago but she's still pretty dark, I imagine there's a bunch in her media to use up yet.. we noticed a split starting down her main stem so we've released some pressureon the ties and wrappeda plant tie around the base temporarily... we'll update again midweek, thanks for reading and happy growing friends! 🐱❤️💡🌱 7/23/21: hairline split down the main stem has healed already, that's good news... buds are gradually starting to fatten up.. we're still around 85-90f during the day so we may consider reversing our light schedule to run at night but this is something we would do after the GDP is harvested, the other 3 plants in the flower tent are in week 3 and week 1 respectively and would probably deal with the light disruption a little better (just a guess but no sense in rocking the boat this late in flower..ty for reading friends 💓 7/26/21: She's starting to put on some weight 💪😺.. we went camping for the weekend and her buds were noticeably thicker when we returned 2 days later..I uploaded a short video ❤️🐱💡🌱

So this week after I gave it under nutrients I apparently gave it too much nitrogen while having a potassium deficiency. Shiney dark leaves, So i fixed that, but some didn't bounce back, and I tried nitrogen. I think they are doing pretty good considering everything I've put them through SO FAR. lol. Nutrients are NPK Raw's total lineup, follow their instructions at first, Fastbuds adjustments as of this week.

Ok, so photos are finally in flower, autos will have to do with 12/12 till finish. A batch of 15 more photos is brewing outside the main door, all primo. Plan is to veg em out there for 4 weeks and then in the flower room. Will fill in missing spots with more autos and then a late auto run as batch 2 of photos finishes. Will get my 7 lbs or so @peakyplanters - slide in my dms

She's looking very healthy and strong so far, although she had to handle a little fungus gnats infestation which has been completely errdadicated thanks to the treatment with nematodes this lady is starting to get into the shape I want for her. Let's see what we can do!

Week 8 of Veg, preparing to flip to flower this coming weekend. Gonna do an extended light period but not quite the 24hrs of dark. LST is opening up light to the lower growth and making more room for big colas!

Costa Mesa Haze is what I am renaming the "Vorneese haze" bag seed from my other grow diary. One of the best flowers Ive ever had in my life. Purchaed from HTC church in Costa Mesa, California in July of 2018. They arent a legit dispensary so they have zero clue who grew it or wtf is, or who grew it. I researched as much as possible and never found anything out. 12 Costa Mesa Haze 4 Blueberry Muffin Went a little OCD with this tent but figured after outgrowing the last one with randomly size plants I'd keep everything the same height as much as possible. Really focused on taking good cuttings of the same size knowing what I wanted this tent to look like. Only running the cree bulbs right now on the light letting them ease into things without stress. Will Veg for 4-5 weeks tops then 12/12.

Week two went well. Just maintaining humidity still and a good temp. Watered plant two on day 10. 200ml with 2.5ml added fox farm grow big. Also re wetting the sponges I have in them daily for humidity.

Last week plants grew very healthy, as they got bushier the humidty raised providing a better enviroment, I could even reduce the amount of water I give them. Planning to move to flowering stage very soon.

On September 26, 2026, I soaked the seed in rainwater at a temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius for 6 hours. Afterwards, I planted it in moist potting soil in a small clay pot, about 1 cm deep, and placed it in a mini-greenhouse heated by a heating mat in a dark cupboard. Only the bottom of the mini-greenhouse was moistened with 100 ml of rainwater to create humidity. After another 60 hours, the seed germinated and was transferred to the grow box.
