She's still a glamorous plant. Actually... the frost levels on this girl are getting a little ridiculous. ❄️💜✨ At this stage of the adventure, most of the plants are essentially in auto mode. They're doing their thing. They're following their own rhythm. They're developing their flowers. And we're not trying to constantly interfere with that process. There's no major training. No major reshaping. No unnecessary intervention. We observe. We maintain. We provide. And we let the plants finish their stories. And Purple CousKush? She may be starting to tell us that her story is getting close to the final chapters. 🌸 ──────────────────────── 🌱 The 8×8 Adventure — When the Plants Start Writing the Ending For anyone discovering this diary for the first time, welcome to the 8×8 Adventure. The concept is simple: Twelve different plants. One room. Essentially the same environment. Same general lighting strategy. Same 12/12 schedule. Same irrigation philosophy. Same nutritional program. Same grower. But different genetics. Different phenotypes. Different expressions. Different rhythms. And now we're reaching one of the most interesting parts of the experiment. The plants are starting to show us not only who they are... but how they want to finish. Some are still pushing hard. Some are still developing. Some are moving faster. Some are moving slower. And some are starting to say: "Okay... I think I'm getting ready to leave." 😂 Purple CousKush Pheno A appears to be one of those girls. ──────────────────────── 💜 The Glamour Girl Is Still Shining Last week I called her glamorous. This week? The title still fits perfectly. She's beautiful. She's balanced. She's elegant. And she's absolutely covered in frost. ❄️❄️❄️ Honestly... the resin production on this girl is becoming one of the first things I notice when I look at her. You don't have to search for it. You don't have to wonder whether she's getting frosty. She's basically announcing it. 😂💜 The flowers have that sparkling appearance that makes you want to get closer and closer with the camera. And the closer you get... the crazier it becomes. Trichomes everywhere. Resin-covered surfaces. Beautiful flowering structures. Tiny details catching the light. This is one seriously frosty girl. And I absolutely love it. ──────────────────────── ❄️ Frost Levels: Completely Ridiculous Let's just give this its own section. Because... wow. 😂❄️💜 The frost on Purple CousKush Pheno A is absolutely out of this world. She's reaching that stage where the flowers almost stop looking like they're simply covered in resin... and start looking like the resin is part of the flower itself. Every angle seems to reveal another layer. And this is exactly why I love having the camera around during this stage. The naked eye sees a beautiful flowering plant. The macro lens says: "Hold my beer." 😂📸❄️ Suddenly you see an entire world of tiny structures. Trichomes. Resin. Pistils. Calyxes. Sugar leaves. Texture. Light reflecting off everything. And Purple CousKush is giving us plenty to photograph. ──────────────────────── 🌸 The Flowers Are Looking More Mature The flowers themselves are continuing to develop nicely. They're established now. We're well beyond the stage of wondering what the plant is going to look like. She's showing us. And she's showing us beautifully. The structures are substantial. The flower sites are well defined. The resin is heavy. And there's a clear sense that the plant is moving toward maturity. This is one of those stages where the changes from week to week can become more subtle. We're not necessarily looking for dramatic new growth anymore. We're watching for refinement. Maturation. Density. Resin. Colour. And those little signs that tell us the plant is moving toward the end of her journey. And this girl has started giving us one of those signs. ──────────────────────── 🍂 She's Starting to Fade This is probably the biggest change I'm seeing this week. Purple CousKush Pheno A has started fading. And honestly? I was expecting it sooner or later. She's beginning to show those visual signs that she's moving into a later stage of flower. And that's what makes me think she may be approaching her final run. Not necessarily tomorrow. Not necessarily next week. I'm not putting a date on it. But she's definitely giving me the impression that she's beginning to wind things down. She's basically saying: "I've done a lot of work here. I might be getting ready to clock out." 😂💜 And I'm listening. ──────────────────────── 🌱 The Final Stage Is Starting to Show One of the things I enjoy about growing is that plants don't always need to tell you exactly what's happening. Sometimes they simply show you. The overall appearance changes. The foliage begins to fade. The flowers look increasingly mature. The plant's energy seems to shift. And eventually you start seeing a very different version of the plant compared with the one you met earlier in the run. That's what I'm beginning to see here. Purple CousKush isn't looking unhealthy. She's looking like a flowering plant approaching the later part of her journey. There's a difference. And it's an important one. So for now... we observe. We don't panic. We don't start making unnecessary changes just because the leaves are changing colour. We simply acknowledge what the plant is showing us. And this girl is showing us: "Final chapter may be coming." 💜🌸 ──────────────────────── 💧 Nutrition — We May Be Getting Close The room is still following the same nutritional strategy. I may begin reducing the nutritional intensity next week. Possibly for her. Possibly across the room, depending on how the other girls are progressing. I'm not making that decision yet. And that's intentional. We're watching the plants first. Then we'll decide. That's one of the nice things about having twelve individual diaries. Each phenotype can tell us something slightly different. And Purple CousKush is definitely starting to tell us something. ──────────────────────── 💡 Still Under the Same Sun The lighting environment remains the same. The Future of Grow Black Series LEDs continue providing the main overhead lighting, with the additional fixtures now part of the upgraded lighting setup. We've already adjusted the output to approximately 59% from the plug after adding the two additional Black Series 600W fixtures. We're working around: ☀️ ~1,500 PPFD across the upper canopy with intensity naturally changing according to plant height and position. And Purple CousKush continues making absolutely beautiful use of those photons. She's not suddenly changing her architecture. She's not trying to stretch. She's simply continuing to finish what she started. And under that lighting... the frost is looking spectacular. ❄️💜✨ A huge thank you again to Future of Grow for supplying the additional fixtures for us to test during this adventure. This is another part of the 8×8 Adventure that I find fascinating. The room is the same. The general environment is the same. The lighting is the same. The nutrition is the same. The irrigation philosophy is the same. And yet... the plants don't necessarily reach the same stage at the same time. Purple CousKush is showing us signs that she's beginning to wind down. Another plant might still be charging ahead. Another might be somewhere comfortably in between. And that's exactly what we wanted to see. The environment gives them the opportunity. The genetics and individual plants tell us how they use it. Purple CousKush Pheno A is apparently saying: "I've got my flowers. I've got my frost. I've had my fun. Beautiful genetic, she is 4 days younger than the rest of the plants in this run and she has the same height as the rest of the ladies, beautiful stretch, the flowers are coming very nice and strong and I cannot wait to see what type of flowrs awaits me as I have never grown this genetic before however I'm starting to feel some sweet smell I don't know how she's gonna smell yet but I'm so excited, let's see how this lady perfoms! I do. One week 1 ml /l biobizz and the other week megacrop 25 ml / l . And these Lady's are getting also a TnB naturals co2enhancer bottle in both Grow rooms 125 and 250 watt And i do mix a coconut, ans granulated torn

They are on week 7 of Flowering. From weeks 7 - 8 will give them only plain water with ph 6.2-7. They are almost ready to harvest. As I checked on the Trichome's color 80% are milky, some turning to amber and a bit clear head. I think next week they will be good to go.

The Runtz auto girls are doing 😊. They have settled in and are fattening and stacking nicely. They are only about 16-18 inches total, but have some nice fat buds, should be some good weight. They are starting to develop some frost, but are very greasy to the touch 🤤 Trying to keep them in a sweet spot so they keep developing. RH around 55-58 % and Temps between 77-80 degrees. They are in week 8 now, and suggested harvest is about 70-75 days… Happy Gardening 🇨🇦👊❤️🌱

This is week 3 going into 4. Not any proplems apart from neededing a ppfd reader. Anyone recommend any good ones.

FLOWERING First week of flowering. The first flowering phenomena are visible in the tops of the plants.😜 -------------------------------- GROWTH The plants are still growing rapidly. To keep the size of the plants somewhat at the same height, I use the following techniques: 😷 1. Removal of the side branches (Defoliation) -Small plants: I remove almost all side branches. In this way the small plants do not have to spend energy in the growth of side branches. -Large Plants: I don't remove anything. The plants will put energy into the growth of side branches, so the plants will not grow too fast in height. -Other plants: I remove the side branches in proportion to the size of the plants. In the course of the following days, I gradually remove all low side branches! 2. Tying the branches (Low Stress Training) -The smallest plants grow straight upwards. -The largest plants are tempered in their growth, after I have tied them to the plant sticks with the help of plastic plant binders. On DAY 5 the plants vary in length between 23 and 41 cm -------------------------------- AIR HUMIDITY 😨 When the lights are on, it gets nice and warm in the growing room. To keep the humidity at the desired level, I have two 7.5 liter humidifiers working almost continuously. In less than 24 hours I have to refill them. As long as the plants do not have real buds, I like high humidity so the plants to keep a low VPD. -------------------------------- WATER and NUTRITION 😱 Due to the high humidity, I don't have to give that much water. Every 2-3 days I give 1.25 liters of water per pot. I add 3 tablets of Easy Grow Booster to 10 liters of water. I divide this mixture between the 8 pots. This week I gave 2 x water. !!! The WATERING VOLUME PER PLANT PER 24H above, is in fact PER POT (4 POTS) !!!

Everything worked out perfectly fine

Unfortunately, the flowers have not become particularly firm. But the strain has an extremely sweet smell and is very strong. The mother of the cutting, however, looked better, both in terms of firmness, shape and strength, which is probably due to the fertilizer.

Sep 14: another nice day and she is doing fine. Using far red 730 nm light for a few seconds at dusk as a bloom booster. Added benefit is I can take flash pics without causing the plant to hermie. Just use the red light right after the flash pic. Sep 16: this plant is covered in flowers and is really quite awesome. It is way ahead of the others but still needs another couple weeks at least. Sep 19: this plant is getting noticeably heavier, and I can tell when I move it to sunny spots in the yard.

Day 50. Gorillas goes by plan, Cookies is still a pain every time i see them ... Control garden will go to green house on day 54, rest of girls will get 24 hours of darkness and will be forced to flower .. Nothing good to be said, but i will try to feed them, hope nitrogen toxicity wont kick in ... Both strains are overfed very easy, cookies are overfed without food even ... ;))) Lets see .. Happy growing ! p.s. my old phones mic is broken, so put volume down while watching video ;))) Day 52. Girls were very hungry, so heavy feed and rain for them. Lights where dimed to 50% while leaves had water on them. Some Cookies started to stretch, inner node distance is huge, maybe i will have second time only in my life hermie.... Anyway, hope to switch them by day 55. This grow i cant get girls to pray, its always somthing, growing is really hard sometimes .. Good luck everyone ! Happy Easter ! Day 53. Unfortunately ive managed to overwater my young plants when experimenting with a new substrate. They looked really droopy with grey edges and yellowing already, so i decided to restart this post for a second try germinating directly into my living soil, like im used to do it. 📆 [23rd of August] Ive put the 2 remaining seeds directly into my homemade living soil. Exactly 72 hours later, on the 26th, one has popped up and showed their germination leafs. I am planning to repot the plants into their "real" home after about 14 days of vegetation. That is gonna consist of 2 substrate levels in a 40l container. The bottom 2/3 is going to be a mix of peat, pumice, sand & vermiculite, the top third is gonna be a layer of my homemade living soil, which is made of 1/3 peat, 1/3 compost and 1/3 pumice 4-12mm & Spelt Husk 50%/50% (measured by volume) amended with kelp meal, sproutet bean meal, basalt rock dust, microbial mushroom biomass (chitin), oyster grit, gypsum, charcoal, bentonite and tiny amounts of bone meal & horn meal. It is my first time growing in a (partly) nutrient poor substrate. I want to do some kind of Experiment this time, as i have not seen many growers use "hydroponic" /nutrient poor substrate paired with the "living soil" approach & organic feeding. I'm trying to boost the growth by providing plenty of oxygen and water like hydroponics does, without needing to use those mineral salt based fertilizers or frequently having to discard "old" substrate. In my mind this idea would work similar to an "Autopot" system, where you prodive water and oxygen mainly in the bottom with some small amounts of nutrients, but feed mainly from the top by amending. Ive seen this in the "Build a soil" youtube channel. I've set their homes up already a couple weeks ago and moistened it to let it cook together, so the living organisms could colonize the bottom subtrate before transplanting. (Edit: Change of plans, those "homes" are gonna go to my Red Hot Cookies instead, ive just transplanted her right into an 8l pot to become a mother. Its made the same way, without the cooking together in prior part.) The plants are going to be fed purely organic/natural material by top dressing with different amendments like fish hydrolysate, basalt, kelp, gypsum, guano and this "living soil - grow" fertilizer i've showed in the pictures. Furthermore i am going to be using homemade nutrient ferments on cannabis for the first time. Ive already tested those on roses, tomatoes and some houseplants. (made from fish, insect, kelp, aloe vera, guano, kitchen scraps, plants etc). My goal is to additionally boost the plant growth by watering these quickly available nutrients. It should contain all the essential minerals plants need, as well as phytohormones, amino acids, vitamins, humic and fulvic acid, beneficial bacteria and fungi. Stay hyped with me! [Edit Week 4] I am not as happy with the results as ive expected it. The plants are looking pretty fine and growing nicely, but i dont see any benefit compared to pure living soil yet. It almost seems like the plant is growing a little bit slower than usual and just needs to be fed more with this method, i dont see any "hydro like" boost happening... Maybe i needed to fertigate her more often and topdress more, i didnt want to try out too much though as i want to keep this plant as a mother. I dont have much time to do experiments with clones, so im probably just going to go for it as planned and hope that they will like the system in the big 40l pots. Probably going to amend the soil heavier then by topdressing more and fertilize with every watering later in veg - until mid/late flower.

Week 15 days 99-105 . I'm am flushing all plants with 1 gallon of filtered water each. I've reduced the light cycle from 18 to 14 hours to reduce heat stress. It may reduce yield as well based on comments I've read in other growers diaries. An oz per plant would be nice. Of course more would be better but an oz makes a pound of cannabutter. Reducing the light hours is reducing the purpleness in the stems of og kush and gorilla glue but Purple chill still has purple stems The Natrona sisters spend their nights in the garage where the temps are 10-15 degrees cooler than in the day temps in the tent. Night temps ranged this week between 63-66 with rh 51-76%. The high rhythm comes after a rain. During the day, I'm keeping the tent open while circulating 2 fans. Day Temps can reach 80 so it gets hot in there. flooded each plant with 1 gal of water. From here forward I will be flushing all plants with filtered water at 1 gal for each plant every other day. Monday, flushed with 1 gal of water. Starting this flush, I added ice to the top of the soil before watering. See photo. This is a stress technique used to force plant phenotype colors. I don't think it will work for mine as I over fed. While I have 3 different strains, they look the same with blue green dominance. Thursday, flushed with 1 gal of water. See photo Sunday photos I'm not seeing any change in leaf or bud colorations from flushing out the fertilizers nor from the ice treatment. General comments" After putting the plants in the garage during the night, morning soil temperatures are within a degree of the night air temperature. This has been about 15 degrees cooler (50s) than the tent temperatures (75+). This week our weather has been unseasonably warm so the night temperatures have been 63-71 with Rh 51-70% Tent temps in the day 75-80 and RH 47-59%. Hey what’s up fellas ✌️ Week 2 of flowering, I have trim the legs by cutting all the small shoots in the bottom that won’t reach the canopy. And removing some few big fans leaves that are covering some lower shoots. I gave them a lil bit of nutrients during this week, last time was about 13 days ago. Just to support the stretch. Keeping an eye on the plants is the best way to know when to feed them. Lights are at max level now, all the ladies should have plenty enough space to grow without reaching the cooking zone. The Mars-Hydro led is just a bit lower and closer as it produces less heat. ✅New Growers Tips✅ ✅Trim your plants legs, don’t waste energy on the bottom popcorn buds. ✅Your plants are stretching, they need Nitrogen, stick to your Grow/Veg. nutrients ✅Always pop more seeds than expected to grow, look at the shitty plants in the middle between the 2 scrog in the video, those plants were germinated same day than the ones in the scrog... Keep the best phenotypes and put the shitty ones at the trash.
