Hello again, GrowDiaries family! 😎 We’ve entered Week 13 and the Critical is reaching the finish line with incredible elegance. Autumn colors have taken over the leaves, a sign that the plant is moving its last reserves into the flowers. 📏 Measurements & Training -Height: 40 cm. Solid and very heavy structure. -Canopy Management: Airflow is perfect. The 12°C night temperature is helping the plant show off those spectacular autumn tones. -Visual Check: I’ve checked the trichomes closely: they are finishing their transition from transparent to milky. No amber yet, which indicates we are right at the peak of THC production. The pistils (hairs), however, are showing advanced oxidation. 🌡️ Environment & Climate Challenges -Temperature: Maintaining 12°C at night and 27°C during the day. -The Strategy: I’m sticking with lukewarm water for watering. During this ripening phase, it’s vital that roots don't lock up due to the cold, ensuring the trichomes finish turning milky uniformly. -Humidity (RH): Locked at 40%. With buds this dense, low humidity is my best insurance policy. 💧 Watering & Organic Strategy -Nutrition: We are in the home stretch. This has been the last week of nutrients to prepare for the imminent root flush. -Pest Control: The cinnamon barrier has been a resounding success. The substrate reaches the end of the cycle completely clean. 🌿 Flower & Resin Evolution -Diamond shine! ❄️ The resin is now much more opaque and dense. The aroma is pungent and sweet, the typical fragrance of a Critical at its optimal point. A huge thank you to all the growers who are following this diary and for all your support and comments! It's a pleasure to share this journey with such a great community. Happy growing to everyone! 😉👍

We have a super successful young lady. The Sweet Cherry Pie is taking color, is starting, the flowers are still swelling and we look forward to seeing the final form. The top tops are higher but all made a nice bunch flower, the Marshydro care is fitting. We are in flush at pH 6.0 recommended to promote the absorption of all feeding residues. 🌿Week 4: Defoliation & SCROG Setup Week 4 was all about structure and airflow. The canopy was getting bushy fast, with a ton of inner growth, so we went in for a solid defoliation session across the board. Lower fans, overlapping leaves, and shaded internodes were cleaned up to let light penetrate deeper into the canopy and reduce potential humidity traps. Right after that, we finally dropped the SCROG net, stretched out gently across the canopy to guide the branches horizontally and prep for flower stacking. Some of these phenos are already reaching for the sky, so the timing felt just right. Captured a full-time-lapse clip of the defoliation + netting process. It’s super satisfying watching the chaos turn into clean lines. Nature meets intention. Feed Bloom since 20/6 22/6 Defoliation 🌱 Plant Response: After defol, they bounced back fast. Tops are perky, leaves are praying, and stretch is continuing in a controlled way. The structure’s more open now — better airflow, better light distribution, better everything.

Intermediate Results Overview This grow was intense! Setting up the grow consumed so much of my time and focus that I started slacking at work, and it took me a month to get back on track. But hey, what’s the point of a job if it gets in the way of growing? 😉 In the end, everything worked out, and I gained invaluable experience. This was my first grow using coco coir. At first, I didn’t get it, but then it just clicked! Now I’m hooked: "I’m here to stay." Coco is more controlled than soil, flushes easily, and you can introduce beneficial microbes, which thrive in it. My main takeaway from this grow? If you buy coco, don’t forget CalMag! Next time, I’ll definitely install HEPA filters at the intake. The amount of dust was insane, and the grow box pulls air like a vacuum cleaner. Watching the timelapse, you can see the box sucking in every bit of dust. I vacuumed the intake filters weekly. The plant was incredibly sticky, but that also meant it caught a lot of lint and fibers between trichomes, especially visible under a microscope. Smoking microplastics? No, thank you! --- On CO2 CO2 only works if everything else is dialed in. If the plant experiences stress from deficiencies or overfeeding, you can forget about it. Since CO2 supplementation requires turning off the exhaust fan, it’s hard to manage temperature and humidity. The plant releases so much moisture that RH jumps to 80% within minutes. It’s doable, but definitely a challenge. --- On Magnetic Fields No clue what’s happening here yet, but it’s fascinating! I’ll test again with a control sample. --- Nutrients Dreams do come true—I’ve tested almost everything Advanced Nutrients offers. It wasn’t all smooth sailing; their feeding charts need adjustments for your conditions, and you usually need to feed less than recommended. Overall, I’d say the nutrients performed 100%, and I see no reason to switch. I’ll stick with them for future grows. --- Strain This strain is reliable, though not the most productive. It flowered exactly as advertised and delivered a frosty finish. It tolerated all my mistakes like a champ—especially mold. Despite an abandoned SCROG plan turning the plant into a bouquet, there wasn’t a single mold spot, even in the densely packed lower buds that got almost no light. Zero mold issues! --- Aroma As advertised: pine, wood, and citrus. At first, I thought it smelled like grapefruit, but now I’m leaning toward bergamot. Bergamot with a classic weed aroma—a recognizable twist on the usual scent. During the grow, the smell was strong, but the carbon filter handled it perfectly. --- Flavor It’s too early to say, but the flavor is definitely there! Embarrassingly, all my past harvests tasted the same—like nothing. Just smoke. This one has a distinct sour taste. I’m excited to see how it develops after curing. --- Effect Too early for a full review, but I love what I’ve tried so far. The high lasts about three hours, with euphoria and relaxation. It’s the perfect evening strain. I’ve smoked a lot over the years, but I’ve never experienced true euphoria—until now. Guess I’ve been stuck with garbage and ditch weed before. 😅 It’s not a strain for productivity or chores, but it’s perfect for chilling, watching something, or chatting. No anxiety, just great vibes. It feels like having a beer after a long day: you relax, and life feels good again. --- Roots The roots were healthy—maybe too healthy! While the AirPot (20L) prevented root circling, it didn’t eliminate it entirely. There were dead zones at the bottom where roots circled around the perimeter. A dense root mat formed at the bottom (so dense you couldn’t poke a finger through it), which likely contributed to salt buildup. Breaking through that mat required more water, and I suspect this caused EC to spike 1.5x the next day if there was no runoff. Next time, I’ll mix some pumice with the substrate at the bottom, about 3–4 cm deep. --- Timelapse I only got the timelapse running after the switch to flowering, so it’s not from the beginning. Still, it’s an incredibly useful tool for understanding growth rates. I’ll definitely use it for future grows. Comparing yesterday to today is one thing, but rewinding a week to see how things were is game-changing. I recommend it! You can even use an old phone with a timelapse app if your camera doesn’t support it by default. --- What’s Next I’ve grown fat buds before, but I’ve always neglected curing. This time, I’m doing it by the book with full control. Drying in the grow box with RH controlled at 50–60% (averaging 55%) for a slow, even dry. Temps are kept between 20–23°C, with frequent venting to keep it below 21°C for terpene preservation. After 7–10 days, when small stems snap with a characteristic sound, I’ll trim and jar them with humidity sensors. For the first two weeks, I’ll burp the jars twice daily, then reduce to once daily for the next two weeks. After that, I’ll monitor the RH sensors and adjust as needed. I’ll share the details after curing is complete. After drying, I’ll weigh the buds, take photos, and share another post in a month or two after curing to report on the flavor and aroma. For now, I’m taking a breather, fine-tuning my setup, and preparing for my next grow: Wizard Trees - Zangria S1.

Hi Growmies, She continues to develop nicely. The rootball continues to expand and nested itself right above the airstone. She is very thirsty, finishing a good 10l over the course of 5 days. I have opened my last atami rockzbastic tester and added a ml per liter. Seems like the buds start stretching around the colas now, so pretty much half time +- a week.

Tangie'Matic growing nicely, as expected. Really excited about growing this stain again at the end of my growing cycle. Tangie'Matic was one of the first strains I grew last fall and I really liked the results. But I'm hoping for even better results now with a few grows under my belt. I feel like I've learned a lot over the past few months. Hopefully it pays off here.👍

AlienZ Automatic - Greenhouse Seed Co. Day 89 - watered with 3L of RO tap water, mixed with the defined nutrients in order and then pH'd to 6.3.🚿 She's in week 8 of flower now and I think this will be her last diary entry before harvest! I gave her a good defoliation today to remove most of her remaining fan/larger leaves as she doesn't need them anymore, I've also completely removed all nutrients from her feed, anything defined is from her very last feed - she is now just on plain RO water 👍🏻 she will be watered maybe twice more this week, before I leave her to completely dry back, at which point she will be harvested🌸✂️. She was really enjoyable to grow and smells lovely and floral, with hints of candy and earth, lots of vibrant colours too!

The weather took a complete turn this week, bringing cooler temperatures and a few rounds of rain. To keep those precious buds safe from direct moisture, I kept her under a roof outside. The humidity spiked a few times due to the rain, but luckily it cleared up quickly enough each time without staying damp for too long. Honestly, this plant is just an absolute joy to cultivate—she is making this outdoor run so much fun! Bud & Color Update: Those purple buds are becoming more beautiful with every passing day. The contrast of the colors out in the natural light is just breathtaking. As expected, she is taking her time and will definitely need to run a bit longer than the Black Orchid Auto to fully ripen, but I am more than happy to wait when the results look this good. Don't forget to swing by the Black Orchid Auto diary on my profile to see how close she is getting to harvest!

2/21/2019 #2 is a little unruly for a tent this small, but great outside. #1 is doing great flowering, this week I hope to see more filling out of the buds. Also.feeding overdrive into the mix for week six as suggested, see if she likes it! Hope it works. All is going well otherwise letting plants dry out a little they don't seem to care both plants.drank 2 liters plain water before runoff of 10-15%. Get the soil nice and damp for feeding time kind of a drain to waste style.

1.I had 3 pop 18 hours right away from floating in the water. 2. 2 were in a paper towel that did nothing so far after 18 hours. 3. Placed paper towel seeds in water for a few hours to see if we can get them popped. 4. 2 seeds are germed and ready to go, have been planted. One in fox farms happy frog and one in a riot rooter as an experiment. We shall see who comes about first. Doing 12-16 hours of light. 5. After 48 hours, all 5 have popped and 2 of them are already breaking the soil with their first 2 leaves. Let's go! 6. Day 3 - 72 hours later - 2 of the seeds have sprouted their first 2 leaves and are above the soil! *excitement ensues* 7. Day 3 (continued) UH OH! I just realized my paper towel doesn't have a seed in it. I checked on the floor and found it, the taproot has gone back inside the seed, I'm worried I may have killed it. I planted it in the Root Riot anyway and I'm hoping for the best. :/ 8. Day 3 (continued) continuing 18-6 light.
