~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2203 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... 🤪 But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Mars Hydro Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 1/19- Here we go into Week Four of flower and these testers are ON FIRE!🔥🔥🔥 Both testers are in a flower frenzy and are ready to eat! Today I gave both girls their last top dressing with Down To Earth 4-8-4 Flower Mix at a ratio of 2tbsp/g and Coast of Maine's Stonington Blend 5-2-4 Organic Plant Food at a ratio of 1tbsp/g which I simplified by using 1/3 cup of the 4-8-4 and 1/4 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 4g pot and 3/8 cup of 4-8-4 and 1/8 cup of the 5-2-4 in the 3g pot. After working the amendments into the medium, I watered it in with 1g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74℉. It will take a week for the microbes to begin breaking it down and will last for 3-4 weeks after that which should coincide with them finishing up, or close to it, enabling them to naturally 'flush' themselves out. I've also increased the power to the HLG 650R's the the Trolmaster Hydro X Controller to 75% which has them pulling 990w at the wall and have them hung 32" above canopy. I also starting adding in 4 hours of UVA during the middle of the light cycle for the remainder of flower. I've been monitoring their leaf temperatures and they're running 71-73℉ which is perfect! I have the AutoPilot APC8200 co2 Controller set to 1100ppm with a 100ppm window and the AC Infinity Cloudline T6 controller set to maintain a 74℉ temperature in the tent while the lights are on. 1/21- I'm watering these thirsty girls daily with straight de-chlorinated water ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74℉ and they're both thriving! The #1 pheno stays in a perpetual state of 'praying' and remains the 'Frost Queen' in the run she is a VERY happy girl! The #2 pheno, while different from her sister, is looking gorgeous and starting to really ramp up her trichome production! 1/23- I watered/fed both testers today with 0.75g of de-chlorinated water each with GreenGro's Natures Brix, Granular Myco and Flower Finisher mixed in, after which I added 1 tsp/g of unsulfured molasses and then ph'd it to 6.6 @ 74℉. They'll be getting straight water from here moving forward as the medium has enough food in it to support them until they finish. 1/25- Daily watering continued today with both girls receiving 0.75g of straight de-chlorinated water ph'd to 6.6 @ 74℉. OMG they're both looking fantastic with both looking amazing with a generous coating of trichomes covering their flowers, especially on the #1 phenotype and both have developed a funky sweet, creamy aroma! More haircuts this week! I am very aggressively trying to keep up with the canopy growth. I'm continuing to remove the small branches underneath the canopy - more or less stripping the undergrowth, while defoliating around the growth sites that have made it to the canopy surface. I'm unsure of how much more growth to wait for before I send her into flower. Maybe next week? Who knows! Not me! Hah! Happily accepting any advice from any experienced main-liners out there! 😉 She's been super thirsty - I have to add a gallon every few days to keep up! I also started adding some p31 Microbes to the reservoir to see what I can see. 😎

1/26: Honestly, this plant is just living it's best life outside of the tent. She's proving to be resilient. Unsure what's happening with the leaves...I'll be doing some research on that. Watered with pH balanced water, but will be considering nutrients, pending the aforementioned research. 1/29: Vegetative growth is exploding! So far she's been an absolute joy to grow. I do believe that I'm seeing some signs of pre-flowering, which is super exciting! Gave her a solid watering/light nutritients and moved her back into the tent for a more favorable light situation. She requires significant leaf tucking...some of the fan leaves are gigantic and they're blocking a lot of the lower potential lower bud sites. Looking forward to what's to come!

These two plants are both doing fine had to go out of town for the weekend so the smaller plant has a slightly discolored leaves I'm putting this down to over watering because of not being round for four days but apart from that all good, hope everyone else's grows are going well. My plants are looking like the flower sites might all become one big cola but if they don't I can't grumble because it's my first grow, and looking at some of the other diaries with more experienced growers their plants look even worse off 🤞🙏👍

February 23, 2021 (Week 7, Day 50, Flower 1): It's the first day of flower! The plants slept for 12 hours last night and will keep that up until harvest. Still seeing pretty crazy growth even for the 12 hours of darkness they went through. Grew about another .5". Excited to see how much these things stretch. Soil was very dry this morning so I watered with 4l of water per plant with 3ml/l pH Perfect Bloom + 2ml/l pH Perfect Grow + 2ml/l Sweet Raw + 1ml/l Big Bud + 1ml Cal-Mag Plus + 1/4 tsp/gal Humboldt Nutrients Big Up Flower Powder with a pH of 5.8. Runoff pH of 6.3. I will start watering with a 6.0 solution going forward. I also top dressed with about an inch of fresh Roots Organics Lush soil. Plants are looking great. Not seeing any problems currently. I'll keep a close eye on them as they transition. Turned down humidity another 5% today. Averaging 50% rH and 73℉. February 24, 2021 (Week 7, Day 51, Flower 2): Plants look great. Soil still moist from watering. Tilled half inch of topsoil. Averaging 50% rH and 73℉. Nothing else for today. February 25, 2021 (Week 7, Day 52, Flower 3): No complaints at all. These plants are as healthy as they can be from what I can tell. The growth sites are starting to do some funky stuff and everything is kind of starting to "clump" together. Really interesting to watch this process happen, as I've always wondered exactly how the buds begin to form. I was greeted with a very sweet smell when I opened my tent this morning, nothing strong yet. To encourage further vertical growth I've removed all LST ties except for two from Gelato 1 and Unknown 2. I adjusted the ties on Unknown 1 because it's already starting to stretch and I need it to slow down just a bit while the others catch up. Soil is semi-moist this morning but the pots are still pretty heavy, so I'll water in a day or two. Averaging 50% rH and 72℉. February 26, 2021 (Week 7, Day 53, Flower 4): Pots were light today so watered with 4l per plant with 3ml/l pH Perfect Bloom + 2ml/l pH Perfect Grow + 2ml/l Sweet Raw + 1ml/l Big Bud + 1ml Cal-Mag Plus at 6.0 pH. Runoff sitting at 6.4 pH. Defoliated one more node on each growth stem - the lollipop look is coming around. It will probably be my last defoliation like this. From now on I'll only pluck fan leaves that get in the way of bud sites. Unknown 1 grew over 2" in the last 24 hours. The stretch is getting real. I removed all remaining LST ties from Gelato 1 and Unknown 2. I redid the LST ties on Unknown 1 in an attempt to control its growth, but at this point I feel like it's just going to be a lanky plant and there's nothing I can do about it. I'll do my best to keep them as level as I can. Also, I took off Unknown 2's stem cast today and it healed really, really well. I have never seen a plant do this, but it filled itself in with tissue that is soft to the touch, and there's only a slight split at the top. It's looking really great. My wife noticed the smell of the plants this morning for the first time - so that's a good sign! Plants are starting to put off a lot of their own humidity, so I haven't refilled my humidifier in days. Averaging 50% rH and 72℉. Happy Friday everyone! 👻 February 27, 2021 (Week 7, Day 54, Flower 5): Soil is still moist - tilled half inch of topsoil. Overnight it appears Gelato 1 and Unknown 2 are doing their damnedest to catch up with Unknown 1 - they both grew about 2". Plants are looking great and are definitely starting to stretch! Averaging 50% rH and 70℉. February 28, 2021 (Week 7, Day 55, Flower 6): Top soil is pretty dry, but the pots are still heavy. I'll hold off watering for a day or two. The last 24-hour period I think I saw the biggest difference in the plants so far. Each growth stem stretched a ton on each plant, but at varying degrees. The canopy is suddenly uneven, but I think trying to keep everything even at this point will be futile. I will let them go and install the SCROG net soon if the colas start growing too differently from one another. The stipules on every plant tripled in length overnight so I think the plants are definitely getting with the new 12-hour schedule. All the plants are starting to shoot off tons of pre-flowers and pistils now. They're in the swing of things now. Averaging 50% rH and 70℉. March 1, 2021 (Week 7, Day 56, Flower 7): Soil is dry but pots still have some weight. Will probably water tomorrow. Plants are looking fantastic. Canopy is stretching all over the place. Averaging 50% rH and 70℉. Looking forward to next week! Hopefully we'll start to see some flowers poking through soon!

02/10/2021 I supper cropped the top 4" down toward lower level to promote auxins to redistribute, also starting 12-12 light cycle should be 8-9 weeks of flowering🙏 if she more than doubles in stretch,then I will need to switch to LED lights to finish

Had a lot of fun growing these girls. They went through a lot off the bat due to my inexperience. Learned a lot during this run and it was extremely rewarding to nurse them back to health. I am very pleased with this grow for it being my first run. I had no expectations as I am just starting to learn and want nothing more than to acquire knowledge. The quality and yields will come once I get more dialed in. Once these girls got healthy they had no problems for the whole grow. I am already planning improvements for future systems and am extremely excited to continue on my grow journey. Thanks to all who helped me out.

Day 99: New Week We've decided against using additional nutrients and have completely stopped fertilizing. The light cycle has been reduced to 11 hours, and we're already starting to give them cooler water. Starting Monday, I will be watering with ice water to stress the plants further, aiming for higher yield, more terpenes, and increased frost. The adjustment to the light cycle should also help the plants ripen evenly. The lights are hanging about 20 cm above the buds, which are getting thicker every day, soaking up the light intensely. In about a week, most of the plants should be ready for harvest. We plan to stop watering them for about 100 hours before harvest. During this period, I'll place ice cubes on the soil to shock the roots one last time. 48 hours before harvest, I will turn off the lights, giving the plants two days of darkness. After this period, the plants will be cut and hung to dry.

Unfortunately I found a couple of single trips that tell me that the trips still haven't completely disappeared. Since I'm not a neem at this stage I will inject more oil and the lady has already finished over half of her cycle, I will let her run like this and the newcomers will be treated again 👍. So I hope that at the next round all of them will finally be gone. I had the problem more than 5 years ago and it took a long time until everything was ok again and there was no animal left.
