🍰 Lava Cake – Week 8 (4th Week Flower) | The Bulking Phase The fourth week of flower has arrived, and both Lava Cakes are showing their full potential. Their structure is strong, pistils are snow-white and thick, and bud sites are stacking beautifully. This is the week where the promise of flowers begins to turn into visible production, every day, you can almost see them swelling. ⸻ 🔬 What’s Happening in Week 4 Flower By now, stretch is nearly finished. The plants are redirecting their energy: • From vertical growth ➝ into flower bulk. • From nitrogen demand ➝ into phosphorus & potassium demand. • From building structure ➝ into packing density. This transition is crucial: the roots, the soil microbiology, and the nutrient profile all work together to feed flowers instead of stems and leaves. What we see this week: • Thick, healthy pistils at every site. • Calyx swelling beginning, the first signs of true bud stacking. • Leaves still dark and strong — proof of balanced nutrition. • No stress, no burn, no deficiencies. ⸻ 🥤 Feeding Strategy – Why Boosters Matter Now This week, we removed the Aptus All-in-One Liquid, despite it being in the photo. The reason: the soil’s super soil base + slow-release pellets still carry enough NPK to support the girls. Overfeeding at this stage could risk tip burn or nutrient lockout — and we want the roots to stay clean and active. Instead, the focus is on precision boosters: Recipe (per L water): • Aptus Regulator – 0.15 ml → strengthens cell walls, stress protection, and nutrient uptake efficiency. • Aptus CalMag Boost – 0.25 ml → keeps calcium steady (critical for bud structure) and magnesium strong (photosynthesis & chlorophyll). • Plagron Power Buds – 1 ml → directs plant energy into flower production. • Plagron Sugar Royal – 1 ml → provides organic nitrogen + enzymes to stimulate terpene development. • Plagron Green Sensation – 1 ml → PK booster + biostimulant, promoting dense, resin-rich flowers. Why this mix? • Because the NPK in soil is still sufficient → boosters fill in the extra needs of flowering without overwhelming the root zone. • Because boosters provide specialized roles → each product targets a specific physiological process. • Because balance prevents problems → overdoing NPK at week 4 could backfire, while focused boosters guide the plants safely into mid-bloom. ⸻ 🌡️ Environmental Notes • Temps: Still ~31–34°C until AC arrives. High, but plants are adapting. • Humidity: 55–60%, VPD ~1.8–2.0 kPa — slightly high, but still manageable. • Watering Rhythm: Once substrate moisture falls near 19–20%, measured by TrolMaster WCS substrate sensor. This ensures roots get oxygen before each feed. Even under warm conditions, the plants are drinking heavily — proving they are metabolically active and thriving. ⸻ 🌸 What to Expect Next Week (Week 5 Flower) ✅ Expect: • Noticeable bulking → flowers will become rounder, denser, and begin to “stack.” • More pistils → a full carpet of white hairs covering colas. • Aroma development → the first hints of Lava Cake’s dessert-like terpene profile may start releasing. ❌ Not to Expect (yet): • Full frost coverage → heavy trichome production usually comes weeks 5–7. • Final density → buds will continue swelling for several weeks, so patience is key. ⸻ ✨ Closing Thoughts Week 4 flower is the foundation of yield. It’s when the plants finish their stretch, define their bud sites, and begin to convert light, water, and nutrients into the weight and density we harvest later. Our Lava Cakes are in perfect rhythm: • Strong genetics, showing symmetrical growth. • Balanced feeding, keeping roots clean and buds fueled. • Stable environment, with monitoring from TrolMaster guiding every adjustment. From here forward, every day brings visible progress. The journey of seeds to now feels like preparation — this is the beginning of the true show. 🔬 Science Spotlight – The Unsung Heroes: Calcium & Magnesium Many growers focus on NPK during flower, but two “quiet players” — calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) — are just as vital to ensure flowers bulk properly. 🌿 Calcium (Ca): • Strengthens cell walls, making flowers denser and less prone to collapse. • Improves nutrient transport, ensuring phosphorus and potassium (the bloom drivers) actually reach the buds. • Helps roots resist stress in warm environments (like our 31–34°C room). 🌿 Magnesium (Mg): • The central atom in chlorophyll → without magnesium, photosynthesis collapses. • Supports enzyme activity, converting sugars into energy for bud building. • Directly influences terpene production, giving flowers their aroma and flavor. Why CalMag Boost now? • In soil mixes, calcium can sometimes get “locked up” as the pH fluctuates. • With daily watering at slightly acidic pH (5.8–6.0), we guarantee Ca and Mg are immediately available. • This ensures strong, vibrant leaves → which means more energy for flower sites. In short: while NPK builds the skeleton of yield, calcium and magnesium are the glue and spark that hold it all together. Skipping them would weaken the entire flowering process. ✨ Grower’s Analogy: Think of your plant like a construction site: • NPK are the bricks and beams (the main structure). • Calcium is the cement holding every wall together. Without it, the structure would crumble. • Magnesium is the spark plug in the engine — it makes photosynthesis “run” and fuels the work crews building the flowers. No cement, no structure. No spark plug, no engine. That’s why CalMag support is never optional — especially in flower when the demand skyrockets. 🌸 📲 Don’t forget to Subscribe and follow me on Instagram and YouTube @DogDoctorOfficial for exclusive content, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes magic. Final flush done. Turned lights off 14/2/21. Leaving in darkness for 3 days before chop. Room temp 20° humidity 30%. Once hang drying humidity will be 50% and when curing ill be using 62% 2 way humidity packs. Hopefully I'll get some nice dense nuggets. Chopped them week 11 day 6. I'll update more pictures of individual strains when dry and curing.

Hey everyone! 👋 It's week 9 and the girls have really impressed me! 😵 The plant that's on the back of the tent (or the one closer to the timelapse video) was the most troubled one of the two (long leave stems, tons of branches, their leaves weren't very strong) but this week something happened and she stretched a lot, it was shocking! Perhaps she was stunned or something was affecting her? No idea but she even responded really well to the defoliation I did! (and to be clear, I did a lot of defoliation 😝). Her sister on the other hand was just developing well and it's clear she's a little more ahead. One important thing that I realized this week (and I completely forgot) is that these plants are autos and their flowering phase is shorter compared to the ones from a normal feminized plant. So regardless of which plant might be ahead of the other I decided to start feeding both of them (not full dose!) with my NP nutrients. Hopefully both will receive them well! And that's all for now. See you all in the next update! 💪

Hi everyone ! Everything is OK, buds are frostier each day. They look more dense and tastier than my first try, i really want to taste them to compare the dfference between this grow and the previous one. Today i bought a new tent, ballast and lamp, so i'll start the next grow tomorrow 😋 i don't need to wait for plant to be dry before start a new grow now o/ Thanks for your support and see you next week !

• French Macaron got planted into her 30 gallon fabric pot packed with HEAVILY-AMENDED Roots 707 soil. – No more BS soil for me. Back to the good stuff! • Took clones of the Chem Brûlée and Pineapple Meatball to determine sex •Those girls are extremely root bound at this point... but don't want to accidentally transplant a male into the BIG pots since I am on a plant count restriction (6 mature plants in California) Here's my Super Soil Recipe: Sonoma Sungrown 2021 Photoperiod Soil Recipe Makes ~8 cubic feet of Supersoil (enough for 3x30 gallon smart pots) 7 cubic feet Roots 707 Potting Soil .5 cubic foot worm castings 1.25 lbs. bone meal 1.25 lbs. fish bone meal 2.5 lbs. high phosphorus bat guano 2.5 lbs. blood meal 1.5 cups oyster shell 1.5 cups kelp meal 1.5 cups alfalfa meal 1/3 cup Epsom salts 1/2 cup agricultural lime 1 cup Azomite 1 tbsp granular humic acid 1 tbsp mycorrhizae (mykos)

Hello everyone, we are therefore at 67 days of flowering, the booster is having an effect, the buds have grown well, the plants will now remain in water only. Regarding the trichomes, it begins to be mostly opaque. I hope that the senescence will now advance. the lamp went from 470w to 360w. I'll tell you next week. bye

This lady has recovered nicely from my 3rd and final hack attack on her. Leaves were so huge, still cannot get over it. Added an Exhale Homegrown Co2 bag to the tent right behind and above her this week as well. I have never used one of these before, but I figured I would give it a shot. More, any, will be good for the plant. Judging by the way she is growing, I imagine she will be hitting her prime height by the end of week 9. Fingers crossed, we will then be going to flower :) Time-lapse lost a days worth of photos. Some user error of some type. Lets just not question it shall we.

first day after a 12h night cycle, still have a big gnat problem. gonna go buy new bacteria, stickies and DT Earth. the grow shop just let me know that they got it back in stock but i haven't been able to find nematóides. doesn't seem to be a common practice here. i haven't watered them in a few days. the top soil is bone dry but the plants don't look like they're requesting water just yet so i think it's a good time to lay down the new dt earth and new yellow traps to see if we can kill the remainder. gonna grab some flowering ferts too while I'm at it. Update: got a bigger pot and some supergrow soil, only had time to transplant one of them today. but I decided to after them one more cycle before i do the DT earth. update: dt earth added, seems to be alright but not quite dry enough

This was an incredible cultivar! She put in fat Buds in a timely manner and ripened pink and teal buds. The aroma is no compromise either. She has floral citrus top notes and skunky back tones. Out of the 4 testers I did this round this one seems to be the one for yields as well. It's a win win with this strain. Great creation from Fast Buds

This week I made the decision to remove the ScrOG net because the plant has stunted growing and the leaves were droopy before and after watering . Given the fact she is an indica dominant strain, my approach to training wasn't the best. Also the light intensity has been adjusted to PPFD level of 700. The light schedule is 18/6, so the DLI is about 45, which is the recommended maximum for autoflowers. I will keep my eyes on her, how is she will react.

I had a really great time growing these girls. The question regarding smell went out the window when they were drying!!! I had move my carbon filter and fan out the tent and in the living room. The smell was leaking out the apartment!! I’ve only sampled one of the 5 sisters. Who look so different. But all have the same smell for the most part. Gonna cure them all for the minimum 2weeks and see what that does tobyhe smell and taste also potency. Back to sample test very smooth smoke it was a tiny bit greeny in flavor. And a heavy delayed effect. Like boom my eye are low and heavy. It was great!! 😂😂😂 THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL THE COMMENTS, ANSWERS, AND LIKES! Can’t wait for Round 2!!! Gorillazkittles, gelato.og, GDPxGushers, GELATOxGushers. All from this time!!! Stay tuned! 😎00
