Week 7 begins for Mandarin dreams. Both ladies are looking good and healthy, bud sites continue to bulk up and frost up. The shirt smell from MD1 has gone away, it's current smell is a bit earthy. Blue Mammoth is 3 months old today and was harvested today. 440 grams wet (untrimmed and still on the branches). Going to try drying with the leaves on, then doing a dry trim this time. She smells sweet and fruity. I'll post the harvest info after she has dried and cured.

TUESDAY 9/3: I almost want to delete this diary..not even worth my time I'm afraid. She seems to be stuck. Hasn't really recovered from her root problems despite being transplanted into a looser mix with a couple extra gallons of soil. She doesn't look any worse, but she also doesn't look any better, and the calendar tells me that there isn't much time left for things to change....😟 WEDNESDAY: I was out at the property for awhile today, hosed off the horsies and cleaned their hooves really well. I was there long enough that I was able to move the plants into direct sunshine for an extra couple hours. I fed her with a half-gallon of water including bembe, terpinator, tiger bloom, beastie bloomz, armor si, and big bloom. THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY: I was sick as a dog . 2-day stomach virus, followed by an acute pancreatitis attack... 😷 MONDAY: I gave her about a half-gallon of aquarium water with some bembe, beastie bloomz, and tiger bloom.

I started picking for forbidden fruits the day after last week’s post, checking the colas with the scope and only picking tops that were approx 10-20% amber. As I snipped colas I also removed a lot of upper fan leaves, this is to allow light to reach lower buds for a final ripening. Once picked, I placed approx 100g in each brown paper bag, folded the top and sat on a rack. I slowly rolled the bags around once or twice a day just so the buds didn’t stick together. Seems to have worked well, no dreaded hay smell to note and nicely dried. I think I’ll be taking some more colas tops off in a few days time and I’ll keep the plants alive for another week or two, depending on how fast they come along. I have 4 Mimosa EVO (no diary) about 7 weeks into veg at the moment and I think it would be nice to give them another 2 weeks as I need big plants to make clones from them, ready for the next diary coming soon... hopefully with successfully taken clones 😊

Good week no nutrients still but had to cut a branch down to lowest nodes on shogun, it responded well and I don’t think I will lose much on her just a little weird shape, next week will be using home made compost and marine cuisine to boost veg while I can, they small greattt!

Estamos aplicando una subida de EC que se me fue un poco la mano en el anterior riego no dándoles la trancision que quería,ya que le agregué más 100l con una ec final de casi 2,1 Este riego es más aporte de vitaminas junto azúcares y encinas acompañado como siempre del abono base y calmag Espero en el fin de semana agregar otro riego de 75l con la primera carga de monsterbloom si ya veo que pueda aplicarse por un desarrollo avanzado de la flor,no quiero generar bloqueos con ese aditivo. Por lo demás este cultivo haciendo comparaciones va a romper en producción. El desarrollo de las flores en casi el 80% del armario es increíble,vamos a ver grandes flores y espero que muy resinosas y compactas.

Harvest: Everything dried up to 347 grams + 96 grams of super high quality trim. Overall I am not too pleased with the smoke of the product. Although the bud size, bag appeal, smell and taste are pretty much all there, the shitty burn is a deal breaker for me and the majority of this weed is quite frankly useless. Another downside is while smoking I’ve found 4 seeds in an ounce from almost every strain. Light leaks? At least I learned a ton, including how to get super good burn for my next crop. I’m hoping that curing for a month or so will improve the burn but I wouldn’t really count on it. I have seen weed dried for 4 days with no cure and no flush smoke clean and not go out once. I have been told that the key to white ashes/clean burn is proper mineral content in the soil and there is tons of scientific studies on cigar ash going back 100 years. Plants grown in a medium with high levels of decomposing organic matter, phosphorus, magnesium, chlorine and heavy metal ratio tend to produce black/grey ash. Whereas plants grown in a medium with a higher ratio of trace minerals like calcium carbonate and potassium in the form of wood ash, rock dusts, oyster shell flour and lower levels of decomposing organic matter will produce a dense, uniform white ash that rarely goes out. But this is still all theory until I test it to confirm for myself a few times. My last few outdoor harvests did not improve with curing at all so I’m hoping this will be the missing link. Plain peat moss and coco clearly lack essential minerals that help burn. If said theory is correct I should find a synthetic nutrient line with more trace minerals. Makes me wonder if growing if rockwool/basalt rock could improve burn in a hydro setup. I think I did a fairly decent job for my first grow. I went wrong in a million different places but I still stuck it out and got some decent herb. Things went wrong early when I got black spot mold, nitrogen/magnesium deficiencies and powdery mildew. I corrected most of it but things didn’t get really bad until mid veg when I intentionally skipped a few feedings and defoliated quite heavily stunting the plants. I also didn’t even top or start LST until the 6-9th node which was really stupid and hurt my yield. My temperatures were all over the place from the learning curve. I was severely overwatering without realizing it. 100% peat moss is a shitty medium. I also fed way too late in flower (not what caused shitty burn). I also used synthetic nutrients in soil. Accidently added week 3 too early. I'll wait a little longer to add the 4th week to even it out. The plants are doing somewhat good but not great. The yellow one is restoring to a fuller green. It seems they all have a little heat stress though and they're not growing as fast as I'd like. If I compare it to my window grow, where my Fast Eddy CBD is just as old as the plants of my outdoor grow. Then Fast Eddy is a lot further. I think they're a bit stunted by the cold in the first week and a half and now it's quite hot for them. Will have to be patient to see how they recover. 8/6 Great growth :D especially on the companion plants. Too bad my plants seem to have some bug problems. I think it's leafhoppers. Especially the 2 x critical CBD are affected, but the sweet CBD that was more lightgreen also seems to be affected.

Harvest day 74. 10g dried after 4 days. Little plant and little yeald. Didn't respond well to topping, problems with over feeding in late flowering. Also began to foxtail in last week, probably due to 40°C at daytime. Will update the smoke test curing.

Arrancamos este nuevo cultivo con una variedad buenísima. Vamos en la primera semana después de que germinaron, solo regando un poco y manteniendo el ambiente bien húmedo. Por ahora las tengo dentro de un propagador, y más adelante voy a preparar un buen sustrato para poder trasplantarlas bien.

Week 4-(Day 29) She has recovered from my transplant disaster. The combination of that, and the feeding I had given her was a lot of stress all at once, and it shows on some of her leaves that were damaged. However, she has recovered quite nicely, and has grown into her light quite a bit this week. I haven’t done anything other than leaf tucking. I kept her damaged leaves on as once she corrected herself, no further spread is noticeable. I’ve got a bigger 6x4x7 tent setup, and am gathering all the necessary components to keep a perpetual grow happening. Looking at the Smart -8 from Medic Grow, amazing value (still pricey) for the footprint it makes! Any ideas on how to convince my wife to let me buy a 1000 dollar💡? Lol 😆
