How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. Q. What are the potency and terpenoid levels? A. Average 18-20% THCa, THC; negligible CBD, CBN with terps variable, averaging 2.5-3.5, primarily limonene and pinene, but this is variable, there was a lot of diversity in terp combinations and compositions in all the prior generations, it's just something that was left "as is" for now. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Sadly, in the near future it will become commonplace and widespread in cannabis and other medicinal plants as it is already is with food crops and ornamentals. I'll avoid discussion on this topic for now, but we hope some people enjoy consuming Frankenbud! Q. What's the floral period length? A. 8-9 wks, finishes early Oct. at most latitudes and elevations. Q. Is it a big producer? A. Freakshow will produce nice, fat, dense colas (see gallery) with remarkable trichome coverage, and you can expect yields according to your veg. time, root space, and general knowledge and expertise as a gardener. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). NLD("Sativa") dominant, but the afghanica influence is apparent. I'm pretty sure that Freakshow contains some Trainwreck and some Maui Wowie based on some research I did on the origins of the Pineapple Express. Interestingly Big Sur Holyweed, OG Kush, Banana, Trainwreck, and Maui Wowie are all of unclear origins. We have to remember that these are all just names and that they don't really mean much. The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. Couch unlock. Q. Is it pest and mildew resistant? A. Indeed it is. On many occasions in the last few years, it has been observed that when pest and mildew issues were affecting other plants adjacent to in the vicinity of Freakshow plants, for unknown reasons the freaks remained entirely unaffected. This includes 0botritis, PM, various mites and insects, soil fungus, etc. We haven't heard any complaints along those lines so far, so if anyone has any problems, especially with a rigorous IPM regimen in place, we would like to hear about it. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. This is intentional, educational, and incredibly valuable to observe. ⸻ 🌸 The Early-18h Plant — Signs of Flower Initiation One of the plants spent a few weeks under 18 hours of light before joining the rest. Now, at Week 4, she’s clearly showing early flowering signals: • First pistils appearing • A subtle but visible shift in posture and energy • That unmistakable “I’m ready to bloom” attitude She looks beautiful — relaxed, confident, and eager to express herself. This is not stress. This is timing. What’s happening here? The earlier extended vegetative light allowed her to mature physiologically faster. Once environmental cues aligned, she was simply ready. She wants to be free. She wants to flourish. And she absolutely will. ⸻ 🌿 The Others — Classic Veg Growth, Right on Track The rest of the plants are behaving exactly as expected for Week 4 veg: • Up to 6 nodes • Clear branching initiation • Very uniform structure across individuals • No visible flowering signs yet They are lush. Deep, healthy greens. Leaf structure is expressive and full of character — a strong genetic signature showing itself clearly now. You can already tell: this is good genetics, handled with respect. ⸻ 🌡️ Environment & Nutrition (Unchanged, Dialed-In) Everything remains consistent across all plants: • Nutrition: unchanged, same recipe for all • Watering: same rhythm and inputs • Room temperature & environment: stable • Temperature: ~25.7 °C • Relative Humidity: ~60% • CO₂: ~666 ppm • PPFD: increased slightly this week • Now sitting around 600–700 PPFD, depending on plant size and proximity to the light • Roughly +100 PPFD compared to last week, adjusted naturally as the canopy rises This is a key point worth repeating: 👉 Different expressions are coming from timing, not from different treatment. ⸻ 🧠 Why This Matters (and Why It’s Beautiful) This week is a perfect live lesson in: • How light history influences developmental timing • Why plants in the same room can behave differently — without anything being wrong • How consistency allows genetics to speak clearly Nothing is forced here. Well I was gone for 10 days and came back to absolutely astronomical growth! Must of grown a foot and a half at least! No signs of pistils yet, which means she's got another foot even before the pre flower stretch! What the heck have I gotten myself into. Did some minor defoliating, mostly removing growth tips below the 4th or so node, and LST clips to try and control height and canopy. All she had while I was done was 90min drip irrigation every 3 days and a quick spray of LCPT.

Week 5 - Day 39 - 20/03/20 Coming along well, grown 12/13 inches since last week. Plants hit 28" to 31". I tied down the plants and spread open the centre of each pot, as you'll see from images, flowering well. No issues, no problems with nutes l, recovered well from a light flushing,. Doing a 4ltr feed per pot every 2 days, however I'm only feeding nutes once a week, followed by straight water feed. Sticking to pH.6.3 ;) It's beginning to hum, let's see what's happens next Day 42. Some plants showed signs of nitrogen deficiency. Push more nutes more frequently rather than a single nute feed a week. Watering plants 4lrs a pot to ensure there's some run off. Feeding once every 2 days.

New Setup in new location after last weeks incident, no longer tented but has nice white walls luckily too distribute that light. The gals are looking healthy, however one of them is lagging behind so im assuming shes going to yeild alot lighter, too urly too say for sure tho ,always have faith in the runt :)

What's up Harvest day .. Honestly I would have left this beautiful Peyote Critical to mature a little longer, but unfortunately the environmental humidity got very high and I was struggling to keep it below 65% .. also because of this, the trichomes have their maturation slowed down a little. However, 10% are amber ... they will partly diminish later, if I do a proper drying (7/10 days) and a good cure of about a couple / three weeks .. So by eye I think I will get roughly between 29 and 32 grams .. We'll see ... I will perform a whole-plant drying, removing only the few remaining medium / large leaves .. It has some beautiful purple color nuances.. Super super sticky .. Perfume from good kush, with earthy notes, mango?, sweet but pungent ... In about two weeks I will clean the buds well, before putting them in the jair.. Ah and I used a led light of 205w .. but we need to divide the absorption for three plants of Peyote C. + 2 automatic LSD that were at the corners of the "Grow" (without mylar cloth) for two months + 3 Kush Cookies in the last two / three weeks .. I will update with photos ... Smoke test..about after November 15th .. Vape test..maybe in ten days.. It was nice and easy to cultivate this strain... I certainly recommend it for those who want try out the draws.. Lots of resin.. We get it.. I hope you enjoyed it.. Thanks for the time🙏.. Have fun...do clouds.. 😄👌😉. Update 7 days 25t ° 60% ur, whole plant + manicure when not too dry yet + 2 more days in brown paper bag (open several times a day to move the flowers). This is one of those cases where in such a short time a strain is already good to taste..for example the other two peyote critical, with which the same identical procedure was done, now that they are in pot for the cure they do not have yet the scent that this already has, like a lots of strain I grow in past..anyway.. Vape test (mighty). 180/186/190 ° taste really good..woody, mango and partly has the same scents that I found in Vanilla Kush(love it).. slightly earthy but the sweetest flavor prevails..also of something else but I can not distinguish really..very good... I thought I could find a taste more than kush "classic"..instead it is a kush but particular, more sweetness.. Quite relaxing effect, from good kush..this I feel that in particular it also relaxes the muscles very much, mentally quite concentrated but relaxed.. I underline that in the vegetative phase I did not give her any nutrients if I did not humus worm in the soil + the soil itself (light-mix).. I did three transplants ..the only liquid used at the start was Root juice..the last transplant, at the bottom of the vase I put about 1/4 of the vase, a super soil created a few months ago as a test, composed of volcanic rocks and other various "natural" components(you can read in first week)😊 .. Later I gave Melassa twice during flowering + two / three times macerated organic banana.. He had only 205w Black-Dog LED as lighting, but to be subdivided with two more of the same strain plus two LSD, also Barney's, plus another three Kush Cookies on the sides of the "Grow without walls".. The final weight of the buds is 16 grams of sun main peaks + 6 grams of popcorn buds... Quantity of really exceptional resin...top of the top..🔝👌🔝👌😍😍 ✌️

Day 12 of organic grow and all is well. Seemed to have dialed in the conditions and able to keep good air movement, CO2 levels, and consistent temperatures/humidity with the ThruWall Closet Fan (Model TW108 ), and the Holmes Twin Exhaust/Intake Fan (Model HAWF-2041). Humidity is maintained with a Lovoit 6L Ultrasonic Programmable Cool Mist Humidifier (Model# LV600HH). Added a SCROG screen (just a cargo net) and bought the Sample Pack of organic nutrients from Nectar for the Gods (just pay shipping and they will send you the sample nutrients - check out the website). People say their line of nutrients make the buds smell and taste like no other! I have always been an organic Earth Juice nutrient guy, so I am going to experiment with combining the two. Lights are on 24/0 and she has tight internodal spacing with good vertical growth. Room that closet is in is beginning to smell skunky at times, and like diesel at other times. Flushing begins for the super lemon haze! She has dense heavy buds, even though they are not huge in size. Buds are very sticky, covered in trics and will definitely be ready for harvest in 7 more days.

Am Tag 60 wurde auf 12 / 12 umgestellt, also gehen wir jetzt in die erste volle Blüte Woche 😄 Beide machen sich gut und sind jetzt 70 cm groß. Die Kush ist etwas pflegeleichter und genügsamer als die Gushers, die etwas zickiger zu sein scheint. Mal schauen wer sich jetzt mehr streckt 📏😁✌️
