🌿 RS11 "B" - Defensive Maneuvers & Defoliation! 🛡️✂️ Let's go! Welcome to Week 13 for RS11 "B". After the thrips battle inside the tent, we are taking absolutely zero chances out on the balcony. Proactive plant care is the theme for this week! 📈 The Details / Progress Report: Preventative Strike: I had to bring out the neem oil and give her a thorough preventative spray. I definitely do not want what happened to the indoor tent to happen out here! If you look closely at the fan leaves in photos you can actually see the fresh droplets and residue from the spray settling in to protect the foliage. 💦🌿 Opening Her Up: To go hand-in-hand with the pest prevention, I got in there and did some much-needed defoliation. She was getting incredibly thick and bushy, so taking off some of that extra foliage really helps open her up a bit. This drastically improves the airflow through her center and ensures the neem spray can actually penetrate the entire canopy. ✂️🌬️ Vibrant Health: She took the pruning and the spray perfectly. As you can see from the wide shots, the leaves are rocking that deep, rich green, and her structure is looking incredibly strong. She is looking super lush, happy, and completely unfazed by the haircut! 💧 Next Steps: With her canopy opened up and a protective layer of neem oil applied, we are in a fantastic spot. The main goal now is to just keep her well-fed, monitor the leaves to ensure no pests try to bypass our defenses, and let her keep building that massive frame in the summer sun. 5/14: A ended up falling over so I decided to move the dirt around and see what I could see with respect to its root structure. It had one very long, extremely thin dried out root that extended about 2-3 inches and ended in a little tangled up taproot. There was a little worm/nematode/larvae something crawling around in it. I attached video. I'm assuming I need to dump all my water and sterilize, re-ph, etc. Everything is already watered for tonight (should have pulled A first in hindsight) so too late to do anything about the other 2 plants, though they do look pretty healthy still. --------------------- 5/13: Transplanted E into her pot this morning. Same soil mix (3 parts FFOF to 1 part perlite). Seedling C is crushing it, with second set of leaves already forming. E is probably going to go quiet for a day or 2 while it recovers from transplanting. Seedling A looks like it might be overwatered? It feels pretty frail compared to the other 2 plants and the downward curl of the leaves I think suggest too much H20. Will be letting them dry out a bit today. Also, turned up the lamp to 600W and moved it to about 24 inches from the tops. Temperatures are consistently 74-77F and RH holding right around 50%. Still no nutrients. I plan to add them around week 3, unless I see signs they need it sooner. -------------- Out of 5 seeds we started, A, C, and E remain. E a few days behind A and C but growing faster. Planted A and C in FFOF/Perlite 3/1 about 4 gallons total in a 5 gallon bucket. Will do the same for E in a couple days. Moved the light up a bit to account for the buckets. Water ph'd to just about 6.0. Light still on 250W but will be moving up to 400W when they wake up later today. Will go to 600W once all are in pots and at a relatively uniform height. Currently just trying to keep the RH close to 70 and the air temp less than 80. No nutrients for 3-4 weeks unless they look hungry, since FFOF has quite a bit in it to begin with. If not for me killing seed B and seed D never germinating, I'd say we're off to an OK start. The 3 that are growing, seem to be growing extremely well. I put together my own ScrOG that I will install once the light is out of the way, and plan to top these a few times each and LST. I was hoping to have 4 plants to fill the space but we will do our best with 3.

12/30/23 - Day 54 - Hello All! I started this week a day early. I wanted to update everyone on something I have been thinking about a lot. Curing. I feel if there was a hole in my growing skills it would be curing. Last grow there was more than I had anticipated. I was not set up for curing 1 lb. I threw in an audible at the last minute. It worked out but I know I can improve with some trial and error and hands-on experience. So after reading a ton, and going off of some of my prior builds for drying, I came up with this design. I have a controller that will turn the air on and will run when the contents inside the box hit whatever RH% I want to set it at. I think the first week I will set it for 78%RH, then every couple of days go down a % until I hit 62%. The thought is that if the bucket gets above the set RH% then the air will kick on and distribute air across the buds until the RH% is back down to where you want it. It will force the humidity out. I won't need to worry about burping. It will happen on its own.... in theory. Ill update tomorrow with some pictures after the water change. 12/31/23 - Day 55 - Everything is looking good. The water change completed this morning while I was in the shower. Its adding nutes now and will do so over the next hour or so. She is starting to get stinky. I had to add the extra carbon filter to the room. I've got some pics up top of that. Happy New Year! Next time I post it will be in 2024! Have a great night and be safe! I got a comment on the bushy-ness and I got self-conscious and gave her a trim. Lol I have been going bath and forth for a while and that gave me the push to give her a little trim. She looks great and is growing really quickly. Ill update with more pics as it goes along.

Last week went well. She has grown tremendously in the last two weeks. Most growth has taken place in the last week. Over a foot of stretch. Because she was growing so much faster than the other autos, I put her in her own spot with her own Mars Hydro ts600 so I can adjust the light height just for her. I'm hoping she starts stacking on some bud. It seems like she isn't going to be a purple pheno, but oh well. As long as she turns out decent. She responded well to topping, lst and supercropping. She also seems to like the organic diet. I will update as she progresses. Until next time happy growing to everyone! 4/30- She is still stretching some but not as much. Starting to add bud mass. The bud is starting to get a purple coloration to it like I had hoped. Next time she will be grown with a soil mix that has 35% coco coir in no less than a 5 gallon aerated fabric pot to maximize the potential. I am also going to make sure she has the best lighting from the start. Because she wasn't as close as she should have been at first, that is why I think she is as lengthy. Just going to get a feel for her and improve for the next grow of this strain. Will update as she progresses.

Day 85 First day of Week 12, day 11 of flower Day 86 Day 12 of flower Watered Plants with 4 gallons of distilled mixed with spring water with 5.3ml/gal of micro, 4.6ml/gal of grow, and 6.0ml/gal of bloom. PH- 6.4@72°F. Plants look good, buds/hairs forming. Really tight node spacing. Day 89 Day 15 of flower, first day of Week 3 of flower Watered with 4 gallons of distilled water with ½tsp/gal of recharge pH-6.6@63°F. Day 91 day 17 of flower Watered with 4 gallons of distilled water with 3ml/gal of "Fish Shit" pH-6.3@70°F. Plant A- 34¼" from the floor, 25¾" from the soil. Plant B- 31¾" from the floor, 22½" from the soil. Plant C- 30¼" from the floor, 21¼" from the soil. Plant D- 34½" from the floor, 25⅜" from the soil.

The A. Gold plants is measuring: 17 inches and received pH balanced water and nutrients/ approximately 34 oz per plant. We’re also trying to keep the humidity down. Normally the Dehumidifier helps a lot but it’s hard to keep down when it’s about to rain outside, hence why this week’s humidity is 81 degrees. Any tips would be helpful.

TUESDAY 8/13: I fed her about a half-gallon with big bloom, kelp me kelp you, bembe, beastie bloomz, and terpinator. Hopefully that will kickstart the bud swelling. WEDNESDAY: We had a little rain last night. It's sunny today, but the temperature is a little cooler and the humidity is very high. I had my glasses on while inspecting her this morning..seeing some signs of spider mites here and there. I'll spray them with trifecta crop control this evening or tomorrow morning depending on if the humidity drops quick enough. THURSDAY: No time for gardening at all today...😕 FRIDAY: I missed a day only to return and find that she's SICK!!! Damnit!😖 She and two of my other plants suddenly have what looks like a bad calcium and/or phosphorous deficiency. I sprinkled some bat guano and silicium flash onto her soil and watered it in with about a half gallon of water including calimagic, beastie bloomz, terpinator, and bembe. I also thoroughly sprayed her with boom boom spray. I started brewing another batch of the PK booster compost tea including extra bat guano, earthworm castings, bembe, big bloom, and kelp me kelp you. It should be ready on Sunday...hang in there baby!🙏 SATURDAY: I went boating and had no time for gardening.. SUNDAY: I fed her a little bit of compost tea, but I fear her pot is too wet down at the bottom and that this is really a root problem. Gonna transplant her tomorrow for sure. MONDAY: I transplanted her into a 5 gallon pot with a much lighter mix..her roots were subpar to say the least. Kinda stinky...I think maybe too much biochar and not enough perlite in that pot.

What up Fam. Weekly update on this big girl. I'd have to say it might be the biggest auto plant I've grown. It's drinking 1gal a day and not showing any signs of slowing down. The colas are stacking amazing with flower sites. Looking forward to the upcoming week's. Happy

Hola al mundo mundial.  De nuevo por aquí con nuevo seguimiento de mi humilde cultivo exterior.   Pasado el solsticio de verano. Semillas en agua de osmosis 46 horas , luego  entre servilletas unas 29 horas más y al sustrato, un sustrato light-Mix .  Segundo fué enterrar las semillas en el sustrato con precaución y ponerlo todo bajo unos fluorescentes de 150W 4000K 18/06h. Antes de pasarlas a exterior me gusta tenerlas unos dias en interior, no muchos , entre 15-20 dias. Me gusta que salgan a ver el mundo ya con cierta madurez.

Harvest was done on a lovely summer day. Since summer was approaching, half of the harvest was hung upside down with the classic 60/60 and rest is stored in a wine cooler for drying. There’s also an oscillating fan below for airflow!

●End of day 59. Both plants are showing signs of flush. I will be watering tonight (5/13/202)and saturday (5/16/2020)will be the final watering. Plan on giving the 36hrs darkness starting the 19th or 20th and probably be harvesting on the 21st. I will be going through and giving a light defol to the girls picking off the "flushed" sugar leaves. ■Big Bud is turning on a heavy bubble gum smell and Agent Orange smells like a orange farm in Florida. Day 73. Both girls down, smallest, slowest from all 6 strains that I tried. But it was a heavy push grows, were some girls didn't get best or even normal conditions ... Day 82. Both trimmed and went straight to vacuum sacs. Happy Growing !!!

Most eventful thing this week was getting invaded by strayan wildlife! I left the tent open with the portable air con running just outside it cause we had a few days of 35C+ weather, was the only way to keep it cool in there. Next morning there were 20 odd flies and a skink in the tent. Took me two days to get the skink out - I was dropping water on the floor for him to drink which he seemed to appreciate, but the slippery little sucker just didn't want to be caught! Got him eventually though, he made it outside safely. :) Also FYI watching skinks wee is hilarious, both the back legs come off the ground and they do a little wiggle. The 4 Assed Monkey seemed unaffected :P Starting to get some chunk slowly!
