This week, I decided to take her structure to the next level by topping a few branches, and let me tell you—she’s loving it. 🌿 The growth is vigorous, and she’s shaping up beautifully to maximize her potential for flowering. Branch Topping: Building a Strong Framework After recovering beautifully from her initial topping at node 7, it was time to refine her structure further by topping a few branches. For each branch, I left two nodes to ensure strong, healthy growth while encouraging a bushier canopy. Why Top Branches? Topping isn’t just for the main stem—it’s an essential technique for creating an even canopy and increasing yield potential: 1. Encourages Lateral Growth: By removing the top of a branch, the plant redirects its energy into the remaining nodes, encouraging side shoots to grow and fill out. 2. Maximizes Light Penetration: A bushier plant with more branches ensures that all parts of the plant get access to light, reducing shading and improving photosynthesis. 3. Improves Structure: A strong, evenly distributed framework sets the stage for a healthier plant that can support larger buds during flowering. The decision to leave two nodes per topped branch ensures a balance between promoting growth and avoiding unnecessary stress. We're at the end of week 4 and she doesn't seem to have triggered flowering yet. Fortunately this is giving me time to fill up her canopy. Seedstockers claim she's an XXL plant and I hope to test that.

Week 1 flowering - Day 5 of flowering & Day 61 of life Finally flowering here. It’s been 5 days on flowering, still pre flowering but finally the best is coming. Black gum looks healthy and it grows many branches sides. It’s hard work to maintain but we never give up. Chasing good flavor, nice taste and good vibes on this one 🙏🏼

This week marked a turning point in the photoperiod grow. The plants continued to establish themselves in their new 3-gallon pots, showing strong vegetative growth and handling training well. Early in the week, I topped and spread out the branches, guiding the canopy into an even structure. Light LST adjustments kept new growth sites exposed, and I tucked large fan leaves when needed to balance airflow and light penetration. Midweek, I gave them a feed of Cal-Mag and silica, splitting about a gallon between the two. This coincided with the new auto-watering bases being filled, so the roots stayed consistently hydrated while still benefiting from the light top watering. The steady moisture helped them bounce back quickly from the topping and training stress.

Only had chance to do photos on day 41 guys, apologies for that. She seems to be growing well this week. Only 11cm vertical growth but another top (from the FIMing) has caught up! Still very bushy structure. She has not entered flowering yet. For nutrients I'm using 15g of 20-20-20 mixed with 10L of water. Also added 4ml/L of both Cannazym and Terpinator. This brings it to around 1600ppm including ~300ppm for my clean water. My first Dinafem grows and what an outcome :). I got King Kong - the biggest cola I have ever grown. It yielded 53 grams and I will update smoke report in a week time I guess. Son unas Tropicanna Cookies, Apple Friter, Bannana Wafflez, Grand Daddy Purple y Miracle Alien Cookies. Les haremos transplante y la maceta definitiva sera de 7L voy a usar la tierra de marca Gramoflor en concreto la Gramomed es una tierra menos compacta, mas aireada y con hongos beneficiosos. Por ahora llevamos unas 16 horas desde que empezamos a germinar, pronto metere actualizacion de estado :D 05/04/22 -- Actualizacion de estado: Bien pues he subido mas fotos y os explico: Las mas grandes se empezaron a germinar el 22/03/22 y las mas peques 1 semana despues, el dia 29/03/22 Las GDP (grand daddy purple) no salieron y las descarte. Creo que pasaron mas frio que las demas y fue fallo mio. -- Actualizacion 11/04/22 Las mas grandes empiezo ya a contar 1º semana de crecimiento a partir de este lunes 11/04/22 y en 2 semanas maximo transplantamos a 7L definitivas

Well what can I say... added a used LED light to the grow that I got for a good price as energy prices are quite high and getting more expensive. Going to upgrade the ventilation system as well, having the box in my bedroom is just unbearable with the current ventilation. High humidity at night above 60% causes me a headache, I am trying to reduce it as much as possible - hope the new system is gonna work better. Plants have a variety of issues, also I believe that they don't grow as fast as they should. Any help/comment appreciated!
