"HAS STARTED GROWING UP AND THROUGH OUT A LOAD OF NEW WHITE PISTILS" Flower Day 5-20 Days 50-63 7cm put on in the last few days of wk 9 roughly day 59-63 So, not bothering to measure my plant as I thought it had stopped at 68cm and didn't budge for a wk. Been I flushed her and restarted her on plagron/atami/terpinator she decided hey. Let's put on another 7cm and throw out a bunch of new white pistils. Never had this with an auto before. Very strange. I seen her develop the past 15 days. Very slowly. And well. She's not great bud wise. She's a runt that's extremely largy with a very hign leaf-calyex ratio, I've seen other FGA and some killer bud. The leafs are mainly singled fingered leafs that appeared late into her process. And I just can't reach the stems proper and would cause more harm than good. I was hoping she'd get super frosty and I'd be able to make some bubble hash or something. She is at to throw out a whole new load of white pistils. I decided hey, why not throw her under something a little more powerful. At this stage in an auto grow. I really wouldn't bother, as her bud making energy should be mainly spent and at this stage I'd be if anything reducing light % or rasing my light by 5-10cm for ripening. I'm curious to see what will happen. She is drinking a lot more. So I've upped her PK and added some Atami products and will wait to see what happens. I'm not mad about the way she is. I'm holding out hope this is a freak of nature (with autos you really can never make a grow plan). Even if she does put on some mass it'll still be sparce and far apart. And very high leaf ratio. And it's only been the last few days she started growing up again. I only noticed cause the top was closer to the light, and after looking closer. I see new pistils and bud forming lightly. Will be a nightmare to trim. I hope she puts on frost during ripening.... only more time will tell. I'd of been better off with the fem version. She'll easily go into 12 weeks. Diet/Defoliation Was stuffed switched to plagron. Jungle juice did take her a long way. And truly happy with the results. But, I want to try new things and added Plagron Green Sensation and a few others. And Atami Bloom boosters 390-400ppm feed needed to be PH'ed from 7.9 to 6.5 2x a week. Alga Bloom feeds with Green Sensation is 6-630ppm with Silic Rock & pure Zym, 2x a wk. Terpinator feeds are 350ppm 6.1ph and once a wk. (Ambient tap ppm/ph 105-110ppm 6.75-6.7ph). Defoliation was done at the end of wk 8. She was 68cm for 10 days. And took her height on day 60 she she was 71 now she's 75cm tall. Her leaf ratio is very high. And very poor bud sites. More like larf lights. But, I've got a glimmer of hope. I've introduced new bloom boosters and upped the ppfd to 1000ppfd from 850-900ppfd. Lights SF/P1000s were used up until yday where I then put it under my SP3000 at a 14-10 maybe if I'm bothered ill put it back under the 2x100watts if I feel like it. Most days though I reckon I'll leave them under the SP. Co2 Co2 was shockingly high at 1150 in my tents with the exhaust on. But with no high temp it's useless. And has little to no affect. You need 29-31c. It's a fine balance. Cause when your LVPD Leaf VPD hits 32c your stomata stops and the tiny pores close. I've learnt so much about co2 growing. Now I've the right equipment. And with the summer coming in. I should be able to meet the temp/co2 level with exhausts on and been able to use my Dehumidifier in a sealed grow room. When it gets to winter. I think I'll pack it in. I'm just not getting caught out last summer with the heat. I may aswel take full advantage of the high temps and not having a sealed tent and keep exhausts on, just keep RH down. It should be a lot easier. If I like co2, I'll get a controller for fans/temp/ lights & co2. My one now can only control co2ppm and light. I'll get pic readings later. Week 4 of flower and it’s been a week for the books. The males gizzed all over the females and we spent the better part of a week harvesting the males for pollen, then defoliating and spraying the pollinated females, then going full sanitize on the entire tent… (that part always sucks). Either way, they’re off to the seed making and generally showing a brilliant, yet subtle pink across most phenos. Gonna be pretty cool seeing how the colours develop on these👌. The fact that the pinks are prevalent amongst all plants is very encouraging. Still early for sure - but… potential for something special👍. Terp. Profiles are becoming quite pronounced now too. So far, we’ve got one that smells of a very sweet sorta pine in female #3 and a definitive baked berrry scent in female #1. The hope was always to balance out the earthiness of the Kush which is classic to the strain in terms of taste, just not overly tasty. Again, still early but we might’ve achieved that here on crossing🤞👌. All told and as long as we keep ‘em alive to the finish - we should have tons of seed and a well defined set of partially drilled down traits. Counting 3 discernible potential phenos so far and can’t wait to see what the clones reveal🤟. Background This project has been a year in strain selection (and another year in the actual making) to get to this point with a viable potential cross. It’ll be a true polyhybrid with a mix of sativa and indica leaning properties for each. We’ve combined an especially powerful hybrid sativa strain of Strawberry with an equally manageable and hard hitting strain of indica dominant Skywalker OG. The hope has always been to combine them and boil out the best characteristics of each. The strawberry is phenomenal in terms of terp profile and a mix of strong head and body effects while the Skywalker is a mind bending, body butter kind of indica with that earthy Kush profile and flowery undertones. The strawberry is prone to botrytis and fasciation but features excellent terps and yields if grown correctly. She’s Also stretchy and somewhat unruly when she gets going. The Skywalker is a contrast in growth characteristics with a squat structure, medium sized buds and excellent resilience and resistance. The plan is to seed out the available females and take cuts of what we can post-stretch to get a closer look at any differing phenos. Still very much early stages for a stabilized new strain but we’ve got the right foundation of solid genetics. Now we just gotta get it off the ground to the next generation👍. We’re predominantly focused on the plants that demonstrate that hybrid vigour and wasting no time with any problem plants or runts. Well the pas week has been a lot! We had some dehydration issues, did some defolitation, and additional LST to prep for flower. Starting today, this plant has been kicked into the flower tent and will be starting its journey! Before we went to flower, I gave this guy 1tbsp of Dr. Earth tomato blend. ~ DUTCH PASSION / SUPER SATIVA SEED CLUB FAST FLOWER 'TESTER' A and 'TESTER' B ~ Well cannafam, here we go again on another growing adventure together! This diary will be special to me for two reasons, one because I have the opportunity to cultivate some new and exciting strains from two of the TOP breeders in the industry! The second reason this will be special to me is that I will be growing these two strains in a brand new greenhouse that I put up! I'm super stoked to see how these two ladies turn out in this new setup. On to the strains: 'Tester' Strain A info: Hybrid (I/S) | 6-7 weeks flowering | Fruity, Sweet, Candy 'Tester' Strain B info: Indica-Dominant (90%) | 7 weeks flowering | Fruity, Peppery, Sweet I hope that you enjoy this run as much as I will... It's going to be fun and interesting for sure! ~GROW WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU GROW!~ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Setup: These beauties will be growing in a brand spanking new 10x14' greenhouse that I have equipped with automatic window openers, a complement of Hurricane fans and a de-humidifier/heater to help keep the environment as dialed in as possible. I started both tester in glasses of tap water, where they soaked for 24hrs. After soaking, they were placed directly into whole eggshells with just their tops removed to make a natural seed starting pot that I filled with a 70/30 blend of Coco/Perlite which was pre-moistened with well water ph'd to 6.2, then placed under a 50w full spectrum LED on a 24hr light schedule. Once, they both have their second set of leaves emerged, I plan on starting to put them in the greenhouse for 2-3 hour a day for a few days to help them acclimate and 'harden off' in the greenhouse. I'll be starting both off in 1qt pots, then transplanting them into to gradually larger pots until they're around 6 weeks old, then they will go into their final pots which are 25g fabric pots. I mix my initial medium using 3 tbsp/g of Gaia Green Organics 4-4-4 along with 1 tbsp/g of Gaia Green Organics Glacial Rock Dust for the trace minerals it provides, 1 tbsp/g of Down To Earth Kelp Meal, 1 tbsp/g of Trichoderma/Mycorrhizae, and 1 cup/g of Wiggle Worm Castings. I hand mix my amendments to ensure an even distribution throughout the medium. I'll be watering with well water ph'd to 6.2-6.8 and providing bi-weekly compost tea's throughout the run. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 5/16- Week Five is here and I couldn't be happier with how both of the Testers from Dutch Passion/SSSC are doing! Both are continuing to have excellent vigor and are 'praying' hard every day... VERY happy ladies! 5/18- Today, I watered both Testers with 1.5g of straight well water which was ph'd to 6.2 @ 70℉. I also removed some new shoots growing down low on both plants to help redirect energy towards the upper portions. 5/20- Yesterday and today were cool and rainy, so all I really did was to spend some quality time with the ladies, giving them both a good looking over to catch any issues well before they get out of hand. Both looked fantastic! 5/22- Yesterday, both Testers were watered with 2g of well water with 3 tbsp/g of Worm Tea concentrate, which was ph'd to 6.4 @ 72℉. I have also started to do some HST on both, twisting and bending branches to allow light to reach down into their canopies. Well fam, Week Six of veg is on the books for these two gorgeous girls from Dutch Passion/Super Sativa Seed Club and I am absolutely impressed with how well both are doing despite the rather warm temp's right now... Unfortunately, all three are yellowing, showing signs of deficiency already. I'll continue to monitor them for any changes. I think the cause was they were in their peat pellets getting straight water, then when transplanted into their 5g pots which were pre-moistened with straight well water that was ph'd to 6.2 but had zero nutrients. They have now received one feeding and will get another in 2-3 days which I hope will help to bring their color back. 10/10- All three Tropicana Cookies are still not where I'd like them to be. I'll give them another feed tomorrow and see if that helps. They are so small and young at this point that I don't want to feed more often until I know that their roots are developed a bit more. 10/12- Today I fed the girls with a 10min. fill cycle, during which I monitored the moisture level of the medium via a soil hydrometer, then drained the system. 10/14- There goes the first week for the Tropicana Cookies and honestly, it could have been better. With this being my first attempt at 'Hydro' I fully expected to have a few hiccups along the way and this is just one of those that I will learn from and move forward!
