Week 6 of flowering 10/23/24 Changed nutrients to fit week 6 Buds are getting even bigger and thicker. Defoliated a little. Noticed a PH of 4.8 in runoff, same as the late stage of flower in my previous grow. After lowering feed EC, CalMag on max strength, flushing with 0.8ec nutes for 3 days in a row, nothing changed and PH stayed the same. Read in a forum thread about constant low PH in the rootzone when growing in coco. Got great info about CEC, water, nutrients and little chemistry from a detailed explanation. (https://www.icmag.com/threads/recurring-problem-with-low-ph-in-coco.338385/page-2#post-10843765) Flushed plants with tap water + calmag, PH 6.5. Used 120L total for 4 plants in 2 days. 1st day: flushed after lights on, did not water until 2 hours before lights off and flushed again. Runoff PH went up a little, but not to the correct range. 2nd day: flushed after lights on and checked runoff EC + PH, of each plant. Fortunately, PH got corrected to 5.8, and I returned to automatic watering 4 times a day (with 10%-20% runoff). Thoughts: In the last grow, I thought I had a problem because of salts buildup in the media with constantly low PH in late flower. I didn't fully correct the problem till chop day. Same problem here in the same stage of flower without the salt buildup. After reading every forum I could find about the problem, I understood that my bloom nutes were the main problem because of their chemical composition. The coco ability to exchange ions lead to the low PH in the rootzone. It got worse quickly because I did not use any tap water with the feedings, so the PH could swing easily and drastically without resistance. After I looked online for the T.A. feeding chart, I saw they used TriPart Grow till week 7 of flower, the Nitrogen type they are using will up the PH. CocoForCannabis chart that I'm using, has not enough nitrogen to combat the bloom nutes PH down effect in flower. It gets even worse with RO water because there are no minerals that can resist PH down. Now I'm using 30% tap water with rest RO water, T.A. TriPart feeding chart with calmag and silica. Hopefully I have corrected the problem for the rest of the grow. It wasn't easy, because there were lots of variables that worsened the problem quickly. Now I'm checking runoff PH and EC daily. Update on next week :)

My biggest harvest yet from a single plant! Closing in on 1 pound per plant which is very exciting. I could have vegged this plant longer but it still takes forever to mature. It never produces amber trichomes in my hands and just stops growing even though it's still consuming nutrients. This is the nicest LST/topping job that I have done yet and every branch produced a massive cola. I lost one cola to white mold but I have busted up the rest and inspected everything so I think it was an isolated incident. It smells amazing and it's gonna cure in the jars now! 2018-03-13 Week 11 Day 1 As I mentioned last week, the girls are growing like crazy since I changed to 600W HPS,and even though they haven't grown so much higher, they are definetly wider because of LST. My growroom is only about 1.8m2, so now the girls are so wide that there's not enough space for them to get wider, so now I will let them stretch. Nr 1 is 44 cm Nr 2 is 39 cm 2018-03-14 Day 2 I LST'd the girls one last time and also defoliated them mildly so all the tops get as much light as possible,hopefully increasing the yield in the end. I also turn the girls 1/4 lap every day to ensure that all sides of them get as much exposure to light as possible, it would've been great to have some kind of turntable that turns the girls 1 lap in 12 hours,, but until I find out a device that does just that,I'll keep on doing ti manually. Day 38: All very healthy and well, I said I wouldn't be doing any topping this round and i haven't. Been doing a lot of LST/Bending (haven't used any ties as i dont want holes or marks on my rdwc system buckets) but if anything else im challenging myself. As you can see, plants look quiet bald after defoliation but definitely bounce back better if done right. Opening up the plant so its more bushy and exposing potential bud sites, not rocket science just basic logic. Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe during this time. Topped the plant on Friday and started 12/12 cycle.

Still flushing, one week from harvest.

On day 1 I adjusted my reservoir to 6.0. I pulled down my mains with wire to spread out the plant wide and low. On day 2 I defoliated the plants, preformed their final topping, and adjusted the reservoir's PH to 5.8. On day 3 the reservoirs PH is 6.0. I increased the flow of my Blumat by 1 carrot on the right plant to increase the moisture content of the medium. On day 4 I awoke to runoff on my plant on the right, so I backed of by half a carrot in hopes that will achieve the proper medium saturation. The reservoirs PH is 6.0. I insulated my reservoir to keep my water temps warmer being in a cold garage in the winter in the northeast ;) I applied some LST to my shoots off my mains. I used soft wire to pull down the shoots. On day 5 I reduced the blumat by another half carrot as the coco is still a little too wet. I will give it a couple days to stabilize before anymore adjustments. The leaves on my right side plant which was the one over watered have salt residue on the surface of the leaves and have some leaf tip curl. I believe as the plant grows out more roots it will adapt, but I have reduced the drippers flow for now and will see how the plant reacts. I adjusted my wires for my LST as the shoots have grown more. On day 6 I removed 2 large fan leaves blocking my shoots. The leaves are still clawing. On day 7 the reservoir is 6.0. The leaf clawing looks like it is improving and the plants seem to be growing at a faster pace now. I'm getting real close to flipping to flower.

I've turned the light up to 35000 lux. Up'd the bloom to 1.5ml/l. There still stretching and could do with more room but there doing well 😎

Created a new setup..took time away from my diary keeping... But everything is good..buds are thick and dense... Flush begins Day 5. Flush for 1 week and harvest
